Prolouge: Guess this is our life now

Everyone poured around in the gym.

"I was in the middle of making some killer sounds. What does he want now?" Hibiki asked, tapping his foot nervously.

"Hopefully he decided to let us go and leave," Mami suggested.

"That's such a stupida*s idea!" Sky snapped making the younger girl flinched.

"Don't you dare be rude to her," Daisy glared at Sky while Mami hid behind her.

"Something tells me that this isn't going to be good," Mukuro folded her arms.

"As much as I distrust you, I can't help but agree," Ed said, glaring at the stage.

I took a shaky breath.

Hurry up already as*hole! I thought.

Then Monokuma appeared.

"Hell-o dear students," He said and did a small bow.

"Just get on with it already!" Ed snapped.

"Geez I'm sorry. I simply forgot to give you the rules of this killing game. So unprofessional of me. Anyway, look over the rules and make sure to follow them or else you'll get punished! Upupupu~," Monokuma explained.

He pulled out a box and handed out yellowish tablets to us.

"Umm...what are these?" Lloyd asked.

"Your E-Handbooks! They are the best pieces of technology, minus me of course. Nothing can damage them...except for one thing but we don't talk about that. Hold on to them tightly," Monokuma explained.

I looked at mine.

There were various apps on there. One had the name Rules underneath it.

I clicked on it and it gave me a list of rules.

Rule #1: Students may reside only within the school. Leaving campus is an unacceptable use of time.

Rule #2: "Nighttime" is from 10 pm to 7 am. Some areas are off-limits at night, so please exercise caution.

Rule #3: Sleeping anywhere other than the dormitory will be seen as sleeping in class and punished accordingly.

Rule #4: With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore Eclipse Academy at your discretion.

Rule #5: Violence against headmaster Monokuma is strictly prohibited, as is destruction of surveillance cameras.

Rule #6: Anyone who kills a fellow student and becomes "blackened" will graduate, unless they are discovered.

Rule #7: Once a murder takes place, a class trial will begin shortly thereafter. Participation is mandatory for all surviving students.

Rule #8: If the guilty party is exposed during the class trial, they alone will be executed.

Rule #9: If the guilty party is not exposed, they alone will graduate, and all remaining students will be executed.

Rule #10: Lending your e-Handbook to another student is strictly prohibited.

Rule #11: Attempting to break into locked rooms is strictly prohibited.

Rule #12: Additional school regulations may be added if necessary.

I looked up from my E-Handbook, filled with questions.

Monokuma looked like he was waiting for someone to ask questions.

And questions were asked.

"So will you tell us when it's curfew or do we decide that?" Hibiki asked.

"Well you don't really have curfew so you wander around at night but you wouldn't have the same luxury as you would during the day. And yes I'll tell you when it's 10pm if you can't read a clock," Monokuma explained.

"So you are aware about the surveillance cameras?" Lloyd asked.

"Yep! Gotta keep you all under my watch," Monokuma said.

A chill went up my spine at this.

So we're being watched by someone else, I thought, looking around the gym.

"What do you mean by class trial? Is this going to be like going to court?" Nishinoya asked.

"Sort of. It will be a lot more complicated but yes similar to that," Monokuma said.

"By execution, do you mean...getting killed if you're caught?" Susie asked.

"Right on!" Monokuma said.

Eye for an eye, soul for a soul...I guess. Sounds like someone old and wise would say something like. Why do I imagine them wearing a bucket hat, blonde and with wings? I wondered.

"So if we fail in finding who the murderer is, we all die except for the murderer?" Annabeth asked.

Monokuma nodded.

"Locked rooms...just what do you mean by that?" Mukuro asked.

"I still haven't opened them up right. We're not that far in yet, we're barely at the end of the prologue," Monokuma explained, confusing us.

"Are you going to be adding more rules? Seems plenty to me?" Minami asked.

"Eh depends really. You'll see when we get there, if you survive until then," Monokuma grinned, causing Minami to shiver.

He then clapped his hands (paws?) together.

"Alright that's enough questions. It's nearly 10pm. Yes you all took your sweet, sweet time," he said.

A murmur went around us but we stayed mainly quiet.

"Well what are you waiting for? Go on, shoo shoo. Are you waiting for a kiss good night?" Monokuma asked.

Immediately we all left the gym.

"That was one weird bear," Ash exclaimed.

"This is real. Like actually real. Oh, what did I do to deserve this," Sky whined.

"Well I suppose we just go to our dorms and sleep. We could probably discuss this in the morning," Kazuichi suggested.

Yeah seems like the best course of action! Sweet dreams everyone," Link waved his hand and left.

"Who would even dream in a place like this," Ed grumbled and left too.

One by one, everyone left to their dorm.

I had one foot in my dorm before Mukuro stopped me.

"Hey the reason why we sped introduced you to everyone was because I wanted to see your interactions with the others. To see if anything about you would jog my memory," she said.

"Was it the case?" I asked but she shook her head.

"Everything about you is shrouded in mystery. To your appearance to your talent. Minecraft streamers are highly popular and you did say that you have an audience and I'm going to guess that you have a rather large one. So why haven't I heard of you?" Mukuro asked.

I shrugged.

"Maybe in some places, I'm not that big. But who knows, considering that I have seen some unbelievable people, maybe you'll just need a few more jolts to your memory. Or some sh*t like that," I explained.

"Maybe...," Mukuro said.

She shook her head.

"I'll leave you be. See you tomorrow Tommy," she waved goodbye and left to her own dorm.

I went in and closed the door.

I slid down and hugged my knees.

Guess this is my reality now. Being stuck in a place with unfamiliar faces, a crazy bear and my life hanging on by a string. Heh, big men like me don't get scared that easily...right? I thought.

Little did I know, that thoughts like these will be the norm for me.
