Chapter 2 Deadly Life part 4: Trial

Snap!

"I think I got it," Annabeth said, suddenly.

"Wait really?" Minami asked.

"Well maybe. I still need to think about it but I have a suspicion on who did it," Annabeth explained.

"Who?" Kazuichi asked.

"This is just a theory but maybe you can help me figure it out more," Annabeth explained, turning to me.

Wait why me? I wondered.

Before I could ask her this, Annabeth cut me off with, "Because you're the only one who explored the vents."

"Oh...right," I said.

Logic Refresh

Truth Bullets: Flickering Lights, Tightness, Daisy's crown

Annabeth: Because you explored the vents and found a clue there, then that means that the culprit crawled in as well

Annabeth: But I suspect that the vents weren't easy to crawl through

Annabeth: The culprit couldn't have got stuck so they had to be someone small

Annabeth: But we can't accuse everyone who is small so it has to be someone who don't fit with the rest of the clues that we found

Annabeth: Then again this is all a theory so I want to hear from you since you crawled through the vents

Annabeth: Must have been hard to crawl through right?

-Culprit crawled in as well
-Weren't easy to crawl through
-Got Stuck
-Don't fit with the rest of the clues
-Hard to crawl through

Truth bullet selected —> Tightness

[Break!]

"I understand! The culprit had to have no problem with crawling through the vents. When I crawl in, I got stuck and Monokuma had to get me out," I said.

"Yep! Now I have a fricking vent to fix. Thanks Mr.People find me really annoying at first!" Monokuma waved a stubby fist at me.

Was that my catchphrase or something? I thought.

"Anyway, so what you're saying is that it had to be someone who is small?" Mukuro asked.

A red vein appeared on Ed's head. I forgot he was sensitive on being called small.

"Yes," Annabeth nodded.

She's right on that. But I wonder who she suspects? I thought.

Wait!

Annabeth was glancing at someone before catching my eye. She kept this up until I understood.

F**************ck! Why does it have to be him! I thought.

He was too innocent but...why does it feel like she's on the right path.

I groaned at this.

"What is it Tommy?" Noya asked.

"I figured who Annabeth is suspecting," I said, burying my face in my hands.

"Really? Who! Who!?" Ash asked.

[Yes] No

It's you

[Break!]

"You are Ash. You're the culprit," I said, lifting my face from my hands.

Immediately all enthusiasm drained away from Ash and his smile slid down, replaced with a frightened look.

"Me??? No! I-It can't be!" He cried.

"Unfortunately, it's true. You're the only one who fits in the categories," Annabeth said.

"Whaaa? N-no I don't! I couldn't have done that," Ash yelped.

"You're small enough to crawl through the vents and you were at the pool and left early on," Annabeth explained.

"Nah nah, couldn't have been me? I don't know how to make the toaster go all zap and zing! And then throw it towards Daisy. Explain that!" Ash said, looking like he won the argument but sweat slowly rolling down his forehead, his eyes darting in different directions.

"Heh...funny you should say that," Annabeth smirked.

"Uwaaah? What do you mean?" Ash asked

"I have a question for you," Annabeth said.

"A-a question?" Ash looked real nervous now.

...

"Where is Pikachu?"

...

"Uhhhhhh...," Ash trailed off.

"Actually I think Annabeth is on the right path here. Pikachu is usually always with Ash and he's not here right now. Where is he?" Kazuichi asked.

"Yeah where's the yellow mouse?" Susie asked.

"I'm sure he's around! Y-you know since last trial ended with someone's death, I-I didn't want him to see death that's all. He's in my dorm," Ash explained.

"But he wasn't with you when we discovered the body. In fact, the last time I saw you two together was at the pool," Leafpool pointed out.

"What does Pikachu have to do with this trial?! He's not the culprit and neither am I?" Ash snapped.

"Pi...ka?" A voice said.

It was Pikachu.

"O-oh there he is! So there, you see him. Pikachu is right there," Ash shakily pointed at his partner.

I stared at Pikachu.

He was fidgeting with his paws, refusing to look at us in the eyes and was standing far away from the podiums. Plus he was facing Daisy's podium.

What's with his behavior? I wondered.

[Pikachu's nervous behavior has been added to your Truth bullets]

"Well we never said that Pikachu is the culprit. But that doesn't mean that he wasn't involved in the crime," Annabeth said.

"So you're saying...that he's an accomplice?" Noya asked and Annabeth nodded.

"I think that actually makes sense. Ash couldn't have killed Daisy on his own so maybe he had Pikachu help him?" Kazuichi said.

"But I just have one question. How?" Minami asked.

"That is fair. How was Pikachu able to help Ash kill Daisy? There are loads of questions to ask," Hibiki pointed out.

"But who else could have done it? Both Ash and Pikachu are able to enter the vents easily and that would explain how the toaster was all messed up," Leafpool explained.

"How do the vents fit into question?" Isabelle asked.

"Don't tell me we're split again?" Ed asked.

I heard it!

"I hear split? Upupupu~ you know what that means!" Monokuma sang.

"Motherf*cker," Ed muttered under his breath.

"Let me guess, Scrum Debate time?" Annabeth asked.

"Yep Yep Yep! Man you're smart. Pick a side and debate over your topic!" Monokuma cheered.

"Well f*cking damn," I said out loud.

Scrum Debate: Start!

Ash: Pikachu is my partner he'd never cause anyone to die

[Annabeth!]

Annabeth: That just shows more suspicion on you if you had Pikachu help you

Ash: But I would never have Pikachu help me without his consent

[Annabeth!]

Annabeth: He doesn't look like he got forced into it

Minami: I only have one question on how though

[Mukuro!]

Mukuro: Maybe it's not that hard. Pikachu does have the electricity to charge up a toaster enough to cause a burn on Daisy's back

Mami: But Pikachu and Ash were always so nice. How could they have killed Daisy?

[Susie!]

Susie: When we first saw Monokuma, Pikachu stopped a f*cking spear with electricity. We're not dealing with anything f*cking normal here

Hibiki: But how would that explain the noises Tommy heard?

[I got this!]

Tommy: When I first heard them, they ran away but where they popped out is the hallway that connects the theater and the kitchen. I didn't check where the other side pops out

Isabelle: But then who came out of which side of the vents?

[Leafpool!]

Leafpool: I don't know but Pikachu would have had to quick run away as to not get spotted by Tommy or anyone else who found the body

Ash: But why would we resort to trying to electrify her first?

[Kazuichi!]

Kazuichi: Well we did come up with the idea that you tried to stab her first before throwing the toaster at her

Isabelle: But she died from neither right?

[Ed!]

Ed: She was held down in the sink where she died from drowning. Daisy must have been weak enough to not struggle against Ash's grip

Papyrus: But we are discussing whether Pikachu helped human Ash are we not?

[Noya!]

Nishinoya: Yes of course we are and that's why we are discussing electricity and the toaster

THIS IS OUR ANSWER!

[Break!]

"Ooooh I get it! That's why the toaster was like that. Human Ash has Pikachu use electricity before throwing it at human Daisy before holding her down in the sink!" Papyrus exclaimed.

"Right and that will explain the burns on her back," I said.

"What about the other burns?" Ash asked quickly.

"Simple, we said earlier that she must have gotten the rest of them from the stove. Now we know how she fell on it," Lloyd said.

"Yeah it's the toaster!" Susie shouted.

Wh-what about that burn on her leg?" Ash asked again.

Truth bullet selected —> Daisy's crown

This should prove it!

"Ok maybe not a burn but it's possible that Daisy's crown had to do something with it. Although I'm just spitballing here," I muttered.

"Nononono! You're making a mistake! It can't be me, I'm not the culprit. Please hear me out!" Ash begged.

He looked determined but his body language spoke another story.

He was...

Trembling.

My fists shook.

He doesn't deserve this. He's just a little kid stuck in this damn game! I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I thought.

[Rebuttal Showdown: Start!]

Truth Blade: Flickering Lights selected

Ash: Th-this is a mistake! I can't be the culprit. Just hear me out. Yeah I left the pool after a while but I didn't go and talk to Daisy. I left to my dorm and Pikachu was just left there when the announcement came on. He was scared ok? Simple as that!

[Advance!]

Tommy: There is a lot of holes in that story. No one saw you so you don't have much of a testimony for that claim. Second of all, someone else would have saw you leave the pool. I get being scared but he would have had no reason to be scared if Pikachu never saw another death after Link's and Sky's deaths

Ash: But he did and that was Daisy's! B-besides in order for the toaster to be that messed up, Pikachu would have used a lot of electricity and there's wasn't a sign that showed that he used a lot of electricity! Pikachu wouldn't use his electricity to hurt anyone, not to k-kill anyone. It wasn't me or him. Please reconsider your decision!

>I need to prove to him that Pikachu helped him with the murder of Daisy. We haven't talked about this yet.

[Truth bullet: Flickering Lights. Use on wasn't a sign.]

[Break!]

"You're wrong. There was a sign that a lot of electricity was used. Isabelle told me this and I overheard you talking to Ed about this. The flickering lights. It was dismissed as a technical issue but what if it wasn't?" I explained.

"So because of the electricity generated from Pikachu and the toaster, that would have caused the flickering lights?" Kazuichi asked.

"Oh like in a thunderstorm?" Isabelle suggested and I nodded.

"So Pikachu helped out with the murder but it was inevitably Ash who actually did the deed and killed Daisy. There we have it. A murderer and an accomplice," Lloyd said.

"N-no that's not what happened. We didn't do anything, just how was I able to grab it without electrifying myself?" Ash asked.

"The toaster was pretty messed up and it would have had to have made a really bad burn on  Daisy...hmmm. Let me think about this more," I said.

Answer key: C.A.A

This is it!

[Break!]

"What if Ash was hiding something from us?" I suggested.

"You took all that time to think just to say that?" Ed asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Shut up. Anyway, what if Ash also got burned like Daisy but not as noticeable?" I said.

"Burned? As like he grabbed the toaster as it was filled with electricity and threw it as Daisy which probably caused her to fall foreword onto the stove which didn't kill her so he resorted to holding her head down in the sink which actually killed her? I'm right about that...I think," Hibiki said.

Ash shook his head rapidly but I nodded at Hibiki.

"That's exactly right," I said.

"YOU'RE COMPLETELY WRONG!" Ash blurted out.

"What are we wrong on?" I asked.

"It's not me. I-I didn't kill Daisy, I swear to y-you," Ash cried.

"But all the evidence points to you. To leaving the pool, to Pikachu, to the vents. All of it, it's pointless to keep on fighting an already lost battle. Not very wise of you," Annabeth said.

"Unfortunately, human Annabeth is right. Not very wise to keep fighting when the battle is already lost," Papyrus explained.

"But you haven't let me present my evidence. Just hear me out...please," Ash begged.

Hearing him like this, made me want to punch Monokuma.

Why him? Why us?

WHY THE F*CK ARE WE EVEN HERE FOR? TO SUFFER!?

"Damn," I muttered.

"I think we should at least listen to him. It wouldn't hurt to try," Leafpool suggested.

"Yeah...but if he did kill her, I want to know why," Mami snapped.

"J-just hear me out. I ch-challenge you to hear me out. A battle of words," Ash said.

...

...

"Alright...I accept that challenge," I said.

I accepted Sky's last time so why the hell not.

Argument Adamant

>Please understand that it wasn't me!

>Pikachu was just scared

>We all got scared!

>I just left the pool that's all!

>Not me not me

>There was only one sound that you heard in the vents!

[Break!]

>I'm not hiding anything! I swear!

>How can the vents fit two people like me and Pikachu?

>I didn't hurt or killed Daisy

>Please understand that!

>I'm n-not lying

>Pikachu had no involvement with the murder

[Break!]

>PLEASE!

>IT WASNT ME!

>I DIDNT DO IT!

>I DONT WANT TO DIE YET!

>IM NOT HIDING THINGS!

>PIKACHU AND I DIDNT DO ANYTHING!

>PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT!

>HE WAS JUST SCARED!

[Break!]

Finishing Blow!

"Pikachu was just scared. He had nothing to do with the murder!"

>Pi
>kachu's
>Nervous
>Be
>havior

IT'S THE END!

[Break!]

"If he wasn't at least indirectly involved with the murder, then why would he be acting this way?" I asked.

"What way?" Ash asked.

"This nervous! He's not even in the same podium as you like last time, he's fiddling with paws and he's even facing Daisy's podium. That holds many red flags!" I cried.

"And don't use the excuse that he is just scared. After all, Pikachu never saw Daisy's body right? He would only know that someone died due to the DBA announcement which doesn't tell who died. The only way he would know that it was her who died if he was involved with her death. Now I'm not saying he killed her, that was you," Annabeth explained.

"I...well couldn't have said it better I guess," Kazuichi scratched his right cheek.

"Hey Pikachu, does Ash have a burn on his hand?" Leafpool suddenly asked.

Pikachu looked at her, surprised.

He quickly nodded before looking away.

"Now...show. Do you really have a burn on your hand? If you have nothing to hide, then you would show...," I said.

I was hoping that we were wrong. Hoping that he didn't actually killed her.

Please...don't actually have a burn mark on your hand, I silently pleaded.

...

...

"Looks like we got it right," Annabeth said.

"F*ck!" I shouted before covering my mouth with my hand.

"Please...just say how you think the murder happened. I want this to be over with," Ash said, trembling.

"If I may, I guess I can explain," Annabeth suggested.

"No! ...No. I'll do it," I said.

Closing Argument

Most of us were at the pool before the murder happened and there was only one person who was thinking of a murder at the time and that was the culprit. I'm not quite sure why they decided to target Daisy but unfortunately, Daisy was chosen on the culprit's chopping board.

Both Daisy and Leafpool left the pool together and the culprit followed them. They made sure that neither of them heard the culprit. Leafpool and Daisy parted ways and that's when the culprit decided to approach Daisy.

They claim that they wanted Daisy's help with something in the kitchen. Daisy, being the nice person she was, agreed to this and she suspected nothing.

After they entered the kitchen, the culprit decided to attack her with a kitchen knife but unfortunately, they could only cut her wrist. So they resorted in using the nearby toaster and asked Pikachu to generate it with electricity. Pikachu did so and the culprit threw it at Daisy's back which caused her to fall onto the heated stove. That caused her burns.

She wasn't dead though so the culprit turned the sink on and held Daisy's head in to drown her which unfortunately worked. They hid the drop of blood that was from Daisy's wrist with her crown and ran into the nearest vent with Pikachu where they both hid the knife in.

Unbeknownst to them, I was below the vents and heard them. I called out to them stupidly and they went silent. Then one of them ran in the same direction where they came from, probably Pikachu. I chased them down but they escaped but I didn't chase the second person who was probably the culprit. The culprit crawled in the direction where they were going and nobody suspected much.

And that was you...Ash the Ultimate Pokémon Trainer.

[Break!]

Annabeth looked disappointed that she didn't get to do the finishing blow.

Ash stayed quiet in his podium, just trembling.

"H-hey, can we vote now?" Kazuichi asked.

"Okie dokie! You the man!" Monokuma cheered. He looked very invested in our discussion.

The same screens from last time appeared in our podiums, even the empty ones.

I looked for Ash's picture and voted for him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ok! Everyone has voted and well look at that! It's an unanimous vote, everyone voted for Ash Ketchum. Now let's see if you're correct," Monokuma said.
A pachinko machine appeared next to him and he pulled down the level.
Slots began to spin and spin.
Spin
Spin
Spin
Spin
Spin
Spin
Spin
And spin.
Until...
The three slots were Ash's face and a horn of celebration went off.
Pounds, quarters and yen came out of the pachinko machine as a result of that.
Class Trial: End!
A/N: whooooo! Finally done! Took a while Eh?
