"What kind of motives?" Mukuro asked.

"Well here's the thing. I'm getting bored already and of course we can't make this a slice of life story can we? So I'll be setting some motives for you so at least one of you can be pushed to kill! I'll do a simple one for this motive," Monokuma opened the box and began to pass out small, yellow tablets.

"This...is supposed to be our motives?" I asked.

"Well not yet dumb dumb. Turn them on and see what it has to offer you," Monokuma grinned.

I didn't like his tone. My hands immediately began to sweat as I turned on the tablet in my hands.

What it showed shocked me.

The tablet showed a video mainly surrounding two people around my age.

A rather tall boy wearing sunglasses and a mask and a smaller boy with fluffy brown hair.

Who...are they? I thought.

The video played like this:

Both boys walked onto scene.

"Hey Ranboo what do you want to do today?" The smaller boy asked.

"Not sure actually. Didn't Tommy said that he will be coming over today?" The taller boy known as Ranboo asked.

"Yeah but he's running late. So I was just thinking that we should do something while we wait for him," the second boy said.

"Hmm, we could play some Minecraft for a bit. Just mining stuff until Tommy comes over," Ranboo suggested.

"Great idea!" The second boy said.

A weird beeping noise came from someplace else.

"Isn't that Discord, Tubbo?" Ranboo asked.

"Yeah...who could be calling me?" The second boy known as Tubbo wondered.

He left the video's view.

Ranboo turned his back to the camera so his front is facing wherever Tubbo went.

"Wilbur's calling me...," Tubbo could be heard.

There was a small moment of low voices and a few gasps.

"What's wrong?" Ranboo asked.

"Tommy...he...he went missing...," Tubbo replied, his voice shaking a little.

"What? You're being serious right?" Ranboo asked.

"I don't think Wilbur would sound this serious when talking about Tommy, one of the loudest and most popular streamers out there, would suddenly go missing out of the blue. Especially since Tommy's parents themselves told him," Tubbo explained.

Someone else responded but the camera was too far away to hear him.

"The last thing that Tommy said to us was that he was going to come over and that was one, nearly two days ago," Ranboo responded.

"How are we just figuring this out now?" Tubbo asked.

The third voice responded which seemed to piss Tubbo off.

"You didn't want us to worry? Wilbur, this is my best friend we're talking about. Basically our brother in the family dynamic! Whatever investigation is going on, we want in!" Tubbo snapped.

"Yeah! We can help!" Ranboo backed him up.

The third voice, a person named Wilbur, sounded like he wanted to say something but the sound of shattered glass interrupted him.

"What was that?" Ranboo asked.

"I don't know," Tubbo said.

Ranboo left the video's view.

Both boys could only be heard as murmurs. Not really making out what they were saying.

Then there was a scream.

"Upupu~. Who are these people in the video and why are they so important in Tommy's life? And what in the world happen to them? Only if you kill someone will you get the answer. Have fun!" Monokuma's voice could be heard from the tablet.

I dropped the tablet in shock. Thankfully it was turned off.

What the f*ck was that all about?! I thought.

I feel like I should know those people. I really do!

But no matter how hard I try to remember, I just can't! No matter how much I wanted to!

The names...why are they so familiar?

I looked up to see everyone in shock.

Mami looked like she was crying, Nishinoya had a confused but worried look on his face, Ed's eyes were wide, Hibiki was shaking, Lloyd was making a fist, Sky was taking sharp breaths in and out, Annabeth was hugging the tablet and sobbing, Ash was covering his eyes and Pikachu looked like he was trying to comfort him, Kazuichi was saying, "No," over and over, Mukuro's hair was covering her eyes as she bowed her head, Daisy stood there, her eyes filling up with tears, Susie looked like she was about to break the tablet, Leafpool looked sick, Link's fist was shaking and Minami was gripping onto her hair.

"Sooooo?" Monokuma asked.

"What the hell was that?" Nishinoya snapped.

"Whaa? Don't recognize who those people are?" Monokuma asked.

"No but...they are important to us! Even if I can't remember who they were, I can't ignore this feeling of guilt and sadness, anger and how I feel like I should have done something!" Nishinoya yelled.

"Yeah! You already have us to toy with. You don't need to drag our loved ones into this!" Lloyd shouted, backing him up.

"Are you feeling the despair in you?" Monokuma asked.

"Yeah but," Hibiki said but got interrupted by Monokuma.

"Excellent! Then my job is done here. Adieu," Monokuma disappeared.

"That damn bear!" Susie shouted and threw the  tablet at the floor.

"How could he? How could he?" Sky wailed.

"He can't just do this to us! To our loved ones who have nothing to do with this!" Link said.

Mami sank to the floor and began to cry.

Daisy walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"We can't let this get to us. We have to survive, for our loved ones," Mukuro said suddenly.

We all turned to her.

"Despair is what he wants. That's what he wants," she explained, her hair still covering her eyes.

"Y-yeah. If we don't fall for his tricks and we get out of here, then we'll be able to know what happened to our loved ones and we'll remember them for sure. We can't let this affect us," Leafpool said.

"Yeah! Mukuro and Leafpool are correct. We have to stay strong, for our loved ones. They would want us to stay strong!" Link shouted.

Some seem to agree with this.

"If only it was that easy," Ed muttered.

We all turned to him but he left without saying another word.

"Hate to agree with him but that bear is in control of our lives here. We can't really do anything other than not kill. It's harder than it appears to be," Minami pointed out and left as well.

Daisy picked up Mami and left as well without a word.

"Wait this is exactly what he wants. For us to get separated," Lloyd tried reasoning.

"I'll kill that f*cking bear! He has no right to interfere with our lives like this!" Susie shouted and left.

"Tommy, are you alright?" Leafpool suddenly asked.

I didn't realize that I was shaking. My nails were digging into my palms and were drawing bits of blood.

...

Leafpool was waiting for a response.

"I...I want to be left alone," I said and stormed off, ignored the cries of protests from the others left remaining there.

I went to my dorm and shut the door.

I took shaky breaths in and out.

This is real. This is real and not a dream no matter how many times I want it to be. This is reality now as*hole! Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it! I thought.

I sank to the floor, hugging my knees and burying my face.

Big men aren't supposed to cry yet here I am, I thought.

I shouldn't even consider killing anyone just for tidbits of information for a short video that didn't even show anything bad other than the scream but something seem to awaken in my mind.

My memories.

It seemed like a small bit of them have started to come back but the most important parts are still hidden like who were those people in my motive video. And why are they important to me.

Maybe that's what Monokuma wants. He knows that the videos would trigger small bits of our memories to let us know that those are our loved ones but we just don't know who they are. And Monokuma wants us to figure that out by killing someone! I thought.

But his last question to us before disappearing...

Why was he asking about whether we feel the despair in us?

"That sure was an odd question," I muttered to myself.

I leaned my head back onto the door and closed my eyes.

Will someone kill? I mean probably but I just hope not. Either way, it's an empty hope, I thought.

I slowly fell asleep, even through the evening announcement.
