I Don't Understand Anymore...(Trial Eight: Part Two)

Dagger visibly paled as he glanced back at the man. "Y-yes...my Lord."

Wyatt blinked at the man. "You're Dagger."

Dagger Number Two laughed. "No, I'm not. I'm just using this body. To avoid being seen, but I suppose that defeats the purpose. Now, Greyson. Put down the knife like a good boy and sit back on your throne. Defendants do not freak out and kill everybody."

Dagger looked down, a single tear running down his cheek as he sat back down. "Yes, Lord."

Dagger Number Two smirked. "Continue with the trial."

Cassie regained herself and nodded. "Let's see. Belmont Enterprises. You're lying to us about not owning the company."

Dagger looked up at them, his eyes relaxed yet slightly pleading. The tear track on the side of his face was still visible. "Prove it."

Thane tossed a newspaper to the center. "Belmont Enterprises becomes leader in military equipment production."

Wyatt met the gaze of the host. "Star died by a gun. There are no guns in this manse...except in the storage room that I found. There were boxes and boxes of them. There were also other things to explain this. For example, Harmony's murder. She got tied up to the tree before her murder. Before her death you got cocky. You'd be the only calm person in that kind of a situation. And you wrote those notes about her death. Metal chord. That was also in the storage room. There's another thing. During my trial."

"And, I can confirm two things. She was shot by a Belmont Enterprise gun, and that Wyatt's gun also belonged to my company."

Dagger blanched. "I hate you. I hate you. I hate you hate you hate you hate you!"

Wyatt smiled faintly. "No. I'm, as you keep repeating, 'gay for you.' So enjoy my taunts, love."

Chase scowled. "Don't tease him, Wyatt. Anyway. I trust your word that the storage room is an equipment storage."

"It's not an equipment storage!"

"Dear Greyson, that's wrong," the Second Dagger smirked.

Dagger hung his head. "Please continue," he whispered.

"All other information on Star is not useful. Except for the last one. W, Y, O, T. During the previous trial, you claimed that it was Wyatt's name, the O being a bad letter A. That's not true."

"She was in a rush. You even claimed that. Her scrawly writing could've easily been mistaken to be an A."

Thane bit his lip. "True..."

Second Dagger smirked. "Not true."

Dagger gritted his teeth together. "You're trying to get me killed!"

"Of course I am. Why keep trash? Anyway, those spaces say the words, 'Who is Greyson Belmont?'"

Dagger kept silent.

Cassie sighed. "Let's keep going. Onto Harmony's murder."

Chase closed his eyes. "Murdered in peace. She was unconscious. She didn't even know you killed her. Since there was no evidence of poison that we found, she was strangled with the metal chord. Until she went unconscious. That's what you meant when you said that it had many uses. One over her throat could silence her while you did the other dirty work before you shot her. Multiple times."

Dagger sat back. "I will admit that I did exactly what you said. But, here's a question. Admit that you only heard one gunshot. Then how did I manage to shoot her those other times? Without a sound?"

The room went quiet. Wyatt could see Chase fiddling with his fingers under the desk. "Th-that's..."

Dagger smirked faintly, his eye flickering to red for a second.

"I have the answer now."

Everyone's eyes went to the hologram, who was striding to his stand. Erik stood confidently as he kicked down the sign that had his face on it. The wood broke into pieces, scattering across the floor with the bright colored X falling to the ground.

Dagger's eyes widened, his hand tightening on the armrest of his throne.

Erik tossed down another newspaper. "AlterAssassin went through the trouble of surfing the dark parts of the Internet for this."

Wyatt picked up the newspaper carefully. "Belmont Enterprises announces success of the ghost gun..."

The host's fingertips were white from holding the armrest.

Erik crossed his arms. "Read the subtitle."

"Company ensures that battle will be easier with the silent gunshot..."

From the side of the throne, there was faint chuckle from Dagger Number Two. "Checkmate."

Dagger held the sides of his head, shaking his head quickly. "There's no such thing a-as the ghost gun!"

"And there's a person named Greyson Belmont who exists in this world? Same difference. Both are wrong!"

"Give up, Dagger," Wyatt said quietly. "We've pulled the rug from under you."

Dagger collapsed against his throne, shaking. "I-I can't. I need...I have to protect R-Riley. From you. From everyone. She's a-alive. I-I can't let this go to waste. I can't leave her."

Cassie closed her eyes. "M-maybe w-we should let him go..."

"Don't. He's not innocent either. Deliver this verdict. You want to escape, don't you?" Second Dagger coaxed. "After this you don't even need to find out what his past life is. That's useless information about a useless being."

Thane looked up. "I'll do it."

Chase stared at him in shock slightly. "Th-Thane."

"I'm sick of the host."

Wyatt let out a breath. "I'll do it."

Dagger broke down into tears.

Wyatt closed his eyes to avoid the image of him crying. "The murderer of this case was clever. They spotted me on the security cameras that only they could access. They went to the storage and took out the gun and the weapons. After I left, they probably woke Star up indirectly, knowing that she was the most hindrance to their plans. She went to the ballroom because she couldn't sleep again and began to play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony."

"While she was playing, they stabbed her to near death. That explains the amount of blood. She didn't even have time to scream. She couldn't. They slit her throat. Possibly her vocal chords, which explains why we couldn't hear her. We never checked the front of her body, which probably held the bronze stab wounds. The bronze prevented her from moving. After that, while she was near death, they used her own blood to stain the roses and leave almost a 'calling card.' Then, to wake us up and kill her off, they shot her through the head, finishing their job."

"They figured their job was done. But they probably found Harmony writing her notes, and to get rid of that evidence, they decided to kill her. By taking a ghost gun, which silences gunshots, they ambushed her while she was writing and strangled her with the metal chord until she fell unconscious. They probably used Star's blood to make the fake trail and nailed the cherry petals to her before tying her up. While she was unconscious, they tied her up to the tree with the same metal chords. They got cocky and decided to the leave the note, as well as leave us a few hints to her murder. They smeared the last note and crumpled it, forcing her to hold the note. First, they shot her first with the ghost gun. After that, they switched to a gun that made sound and alerted us. I went downstairs, giving them the time to escape."

"During my trial, they'd carefully managed to make it look convincing enough that it was my fault. When Erik came in, he brought in information that helped us convict who the real murderer was."

"...and that murderer is you, Dagger Belmont!"

Dagger let out a small choke. "It wasn't me," he whispered desperately.

Second Dagger smirked. "All right! Let's actually see poor little host boy die to an execution!"

Dagger shook his frantically, eyes both red as they darted around. Tears were at the corner of his eyes. "I HAVE TO PROTECT RILEY! I CAN'T-I CAN'T DIE! PLEASE!"

Second Dagger shook his head. "Please vote!"

The host let out a sob as he got off his throne, eyes meeting with Wyatt's. "Y-you! You did this to me! All I wanted-all I wanted was to keep Riley safe! WHY? WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME ABANDON HER!?" He tackled Wyatt to the ground, the two of them tumbling to the side with Dagger's hands at Wyatt's neck.

Wyatt felt the pressure on his windpipe increase as he gasped for air. "P-please! I don't want you to die!"

"ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT, CLARK!"

Wyatt glanced to the side desperately, hands at his throat to try and pry Dagger's hands off. He caught a glimpse of a girl running out. "Dagger! Don't!"

Dagger stopped, glancing up, his breathing ragged and tears streaming down his cheeks. "R-Riles..."

He threw Wyatt to the side, stumbling as he ran desperately to his girlfriend, breathing halted by the crying that came from him.

A boy dropped down from the chandelier.

There was a flash of a sword, and Dagger stopped, eyes wide as they trailed to the sword that jutted out of his chest. "R-Riley..."

Riley had a look of horror on her face, face white as paper.

Dagger looked up to meet her eyes, legs collapsing as blood trickled from his mouth. His eyes slowly closed, one last line of tears rolling down to his chin as he fell forward into the arms of Riley. "I-I'm sorry."

The boy brushed his silver hair way, wiping the blood off his shirt. "Damn, that was annoying." He smiled innocently at the shocked group of four. "Sorry that he didn't get executed."

Wyatt took a step back. "Y-you...the boy. The man..."

The boy laughed as he shifted into a tall man. "That's right, Wyatt Clark. Surprise! I'm also your ghost, R. I'm the mastermind of this manse. And you guys haven't finished your trial yet! That was a lie! Hahaha!"

The man smirked as he kicked Dagger's body to the side, making Riley scream as tears trailed down her cheeks. "Pipe down, Riley. Be glad that I haven't murdered you yet."

He sat down on Dagger's throne, leaning back. "Oh, don't look at me like that. Hurry! Let's finish this trial! Find out the secrets of Dagger Belmont!"

The man grinned devilishly. "Almost forgot."

Wyatt felt his body shake in fear.

"The name's Royce Hunter. Let the final trial begin!"
