Chapter 22 - Umm...That...Was Unexpected....
AIIII IT'S BECCA'S POV AGAIN
Yes, yes, and it took only 7 chapters until that happened.
:P
We had all pulled the chairs from around the Grand Hall table and formed a circle, sitting in them.
With a sigh, I looked around at everyone.
Jason, the mute who could still speak.
alzakz, the protector of my little bro when ilbarker wasn't around.
spark, friend of Cassia and shipped with...well, you know who it is.
ilbarker, the Australian who had an obsession with Caleb.
Kit, the Ender Dragon hybrid with a stick that became a kitten and panther named KitKat.
Becky, my evil alter ego that kept shooting everyone evil glares except Caleb. Her face was neutral when she looked at him.
Cassia, the seemingly normal human with extreme bravery.
Rebekitah, my calm and intuitive alter ego.
Known, the other one who had died with me in the last book.
Aura, a recentish friend of mine.
Deana, my best friend in real life whose real name is Palihawadana. It's really funny to see teachers and/or subs try to pronounce her name.
Caleb, my adorable little brother that is loved by everyone (maybe even Becky).
And me, Becca, the ex-mastermind of Hope Castle.
13 people.
I sighed. So...next, we have Ian and Crainer.
"And you're NOT going by yourself." ilbarker interrupted.
I chuckled lightly. Honestly, wasn't planning on it. I feel like everyone should go this time.
"Even Caleb?" Cassia asked.
I nodded.
'But is that really a good idea? Ian and Crainer are unstable.' Jason commented.
I know. But...I have this...feeling that everyone should go.
ilbarker pulled Caleb's chair closer to her and hugged him. "I'll protect my SMOL bean."
I giggled. Does anyone have anything they need to do before we set off?
...Silence.
I'ma take that as a no. Well, lez go!
We all stood up and put our chairs back before heading down the hallway towards Ian's room, the place where he and Crainer died and #Crundee intensified.
Hey, that rhymed!
Caleb ran up next to me, grabbing my hand.
Caleb? Shouldn't you stay with ilbarker? This is dangerous....
He shook his head. "I have almost lost you, Becca. I don't want to lose you again."
Geez, for a 6 year old, he sounded like an older brother!
I sighed, a small smile on my face. Alright, Mr. Caleb.
We paused in front of Ian's room.
I took a deep breath and Caleb squeezed my hand a little.
I pushed the door open and went in.
And gasped.
Smack dab (where did we even get that phrase?!) in the middle of the room was a cage, and in that cage was someone I knew all too well. That brown, curly hair. That pink shirt.
"Why...Why, Becca...? Why me...?" She whispered as she rocked back and forth in the cage.
Caleb let go of my hand and ran to the cage. "Rackel?! Rackel, it's me, Caleb!"
She didn't acknowledge him at all.
"What did I do...? Why is it always me...?"
I ran to the cage and knelt down, grabbing her shoulder. She paused.
Rachel....
I could hear the rest of the group come in as Rachel turned slowly to look at me. "Why is it me...? What did I do to deserve this...? I die. I get severely injured. I'm randomly dead just to serve as a minorish character."
I grimaced. Rachel...I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were here. I...have no control anymore.
She shoved herself against the bars, causing me and Caleb to jump back in surprise.
"WHY?! WHY DO YOU HATE ME?! WHY DO YOU LOVE HIM MORE THAN ME?!" She cried.
My heart was breaking at the sight. Rachel...I don't love him more than you. I love you both equally.
"THEN HOW COME HE'S NEVER DIED?! HOW COME HE'S NEVER INJURED?!"
I...couldn't answer that.
Maybe she was right.
Maybe I did love Caleb more than her.
But...in play, I enjoy Caleb more than her.
They're my siblings. How could I not love them equally?
And...I'm not just their big sister.
I'm their mother.
And as a mother, I have to protect them.
Hey, don't get any ideas! I'm not their biological mother! Yeesh!
I grabbed her hand that was around the bar and she flinched. Rachel, please, look at my eyes.
She shakily looked into my eyes.
I could see the slight insanity in her eyes. Her hopelessness. Her anger. Her pain. Her fear.
I could feel all of those emotions.
Rachel...I. LOVE. YOU. And don't you ever forget that. Siblings will fight. But, in the end, they ALWAYS look out for each other. ALWAYS. Ok? Don't you EVER forget that. Even when things seem bad between us, I'll still be there to protect you.
She had tears coming down her face. She pulled away. "...Ok, Becca."
"Aww, boo-hoo, a sad family reunion." A cracked voice said.
"I think it's time to get onto the main event, though, wouldn't you say, Derp?" A familiar but slightly deeper voice asked.
"Becca...? Who's that...?" Caleb whispered.
The door slammed shut behind the group and locked itself.
I then felt..."hands" grab my arms.
"BECCA!!!" Caleb yelled before it was silent.
The "hands" released me and I took a step back, looking around.
I was in the room that the readers got to see Jerome's preparation for execution.
But...how was I here?
"Hehehe...." The cracked voice, Derp, laughed.
"AHAHAHA----*cough**cough*" The deeperish voice, V-Crainer, laughed.
Where were Crainer and Ian?
Derp and V-Crainer appeared in front of me, both with slits in their throats. V-Crainer probably had a gash in his back from the wooden axe.
Again, Ian and Crainer??
"So...we're your last stop?" Derp asked smugly.
I nodded. I have to ask, where are Ian and Crainer?
"They moved on FOREVER ago, leaving US behind. Personally, we don't like each other like that. We like each other as comrades. Unfortunately, the hosts moving on from the bodies left us to control them, leaving us behind." V-Crainer explained.
Oh. Well...I don't think I could guess what your requests are.... What do you need? I asked hesitantly.
Derp smirked evilly. "We'd thought you'd never ask. You see, we're bored. Since our hosts died in their room but moved on, we can roam the castle but we can't leave. It gets boring after a while. So, once we found out you came around and were helping the spirits, we finally came up with something PERFECT. Something that involves DEATH!"
My eyes went wide. Uhh...you're...not killing any of my friends...ok?
Derp smirked again. "Actually, that's exactly it."
I just stared at him.
He couldn't be serious.
"Geez, Derp, you're gonna give her a heart attack! Look, Becca, he's right when he says your friends' deaths, but...in a gaming way." V-Crainer explained.
Umm...ok?
"And this game is right up your alley." Derp said.
And that game is.... I was actually starting to get impatient with the build-up. :P
"Town of Salem!" V-Crainer said happily.
WH-WHAT?! I exclaimed.
TOWN OF SALEM?!!
"Yup! But don't worry, we've got da bases covered. And, uh, the MV has kinda set the limitation for it already. Once we're all there, we'll explain everything." V-Crainer said while rubbing the back of his neck.
MV?
Uhh...just...ignore that for now.
Suspicious, but I decided not to push for it.
"Alright! Fun times are starting~!" Derp exclaimed as he and V-Crainer grabbed me.
And it all went dark, but not unconscious dark.
I could see again a few minutes later, and I was lying on a bed, an old-styled piece of paper next to me with a pen.
Slightly confused, I pocketed the items and walked outside as a rooster crowed.
And I saw everyone else looking more confused than me.
Caleb, ilbarker, Cassia, Kit with KitKat the kitten walking behind her, Aura, Known, Deana, Jason, Becky, Rebekitah, alzakz, spark, and....
The last two houses of the 15 in a circle had two men walking out, looking the absolute most confused.
It was Mark and Pewds from the castle.
We all walked to the center of the small town, standing at the ends of the paths to our houses.
V-Crainer appeared on one side of the gallows, waving at everyone and smirking at me.
Derp then appeared on the other side of the gallows with an almost evil look on his face.
"WELCOME...TO THE TOWN OF SALEM!!"
