Chapter 11 - I Iz Smert. X3
Becca's POV.
Ssshhh...you'll wake Caleb....
Well, SOME PEOPLE freak out when there is no declaration of whose POV it is.
-_-
I have somewhere to be, you know.... Having my little brother awake won't help....
*sigh* Fine.... Just...go....
I sighed silently and gave my brother a light rub on the head so as not to wake him.
I slowly and quietly pulled the blanket back and sat up.
Caleb rolled a bit, and I froze.
I waited a second before getting off the bed and pulling the covers back over Caleb.
He sighed and snuggled deeper into the bed.
I smiled sadly. I just wanted to stay here and snuggle with him, but...I had to do this.
I grabbed my glasses and rubbed them with my shirt a bit before putting them on.
I could see better now.
I'd been awake for the past 30 minutes, so I could sorta see in the dark.
I grabbed my cloak and slipped it on.
I closed my eyes and sighed quietly.
I REALLY wanted to go back to bed, but again, I don't want anyone stuck longer than need be.
Also, as I stated in the last chapter, I didn't know how long we've been here. I think the hostages would've been here a little longer than us.
It could've been weeks for all I know!
I sighed again and quietly opened my door, wincing at the slight squeak from it.
The rooms were soundproof to the outside, but outside noises could be heard inside.
I stepped out into the hall and closed the door to the point that it was only slightly ajar. These doors could close loudly.
I didn't pause to listen for anything because it would be a waste of time. I couldn't hear anything from the rooms, anyway.
I walked silently to the red door at the end of the hallway.
I paused in front of the door, my hand on the blue knob.
Did I really want to do this?
I have people here who care for me and would come with me....
But I don't want them getting hurt. I care for them a whole lot.
I was still for a moment longer before pushing open the door.
A thought came into my mind as I entered.
Mark's words.
"When the lights go out, the electricity to the game room tv doesn't. You could play video games on it all night."
When I entered the room, I winced as a harsh noise ground at my brain.
The tv was on, but it was staticy.
I don't know if anyone knows this, but I have Tinnitus. I hear this constant noise in my ear all the time. It's high pitched, as well.
Static makes the noise a lot worse.
My head started hurting, but I needed to look for something that indicated that a person was there.
The staticy screen gave off a whitish glow, so the little bit of light could help me look around.
I knew Nick was in here, as well, I just didn't know where.
I closed the door quietly behind me, trying to ignore the pounding pain in my head.
I turned back to the tv, but a brownish glint caught my eye somewhere off to the left of the tv.
The...uhh...left corner of the room.
I walked towards it and stopped about a foot away.
I reached out to touch the brownish thing when I stopped abruptly and pulled my hand back.
The color wasn't brownish.
It was copper.
Copper wires.
I didn't know if this was true, but I couldn't touch those wires.
Game room means electronics.
Electronics meant electricity and also the fact that the electricity didn't shut off in here.
Copper is a very good conductor of electricity.
I looked for some kind of opening, but the wires were floating about an inch from each other horizontally from wall to wall, cutting off the left back corner of the room.
I then noticed that there were some quiet thumping sounds coming from the other side.
I knelt down on my knees and looked in.
It was kinda hard to see, but I could see a person in there up against the wall, rocking back and forth with their knees pulled into their chest.
I've only seen that when a person is traumatized.
Hello?
But...instead of responding, they started singing a song I knew all too well.
"All my friends are heathens, take it slow...."
I swear my heart stopped for a moment.
I knew that voice.
I knew who she was.
She was singing what we called our theme song. We kinda bonded over this song....
But her name was caught in my throat.
"Wait for them to ask you who you know...."
...Deana...? I choked out.
As if it were a trigger word, she stopped rocking and looked directly at me.
"Please don't make any sudden moves...."
She wasn't just singing anymore. I felt like she was trying to warn me.
I heeded her words and froze all movements aside from blinking and breathing.
She went back to rocking and staring into nothing.
"You don't know the half of the abuse...."
I stared wide-eyed at her.
"Well then. For not speaking for 2 weeks, she sings really good!"
The static intensified and I couldn't stay still any longer.
I cried out and slammed my head on my knees, my hands cradling my ears to try to lessen the pounding pain.
Of course, it didn't exactly help at all. It was just instinct.
"Aww, really, Becca? A little static noise can take you down? That's a pretty bad sign, ya know." Nick sneered.
Sh-Shut up....
"Hmph. Do you really think you're in a position to be telling me what to do?"
The static died down again and I raised my head slowly, placing my hands on my knees.
Copper wires were wrapped around me in a circle that was actually pretty close to me.
I sighed as the ringing died down in my ears to their original volume.
"So...she's your friend, huh?" Nick asked as he appeared in her wiry cage.
Deana froze but still stared into nothing.
You...you said something about...2 weeks.... How long has she been here?
He thought about it. "Uhh...a month and a half or so?"
...He's kidding....
A MONTH AND A HALF?! No...it's only been...a few days...that couldn't be right...right?
You're kidding, right?
He shook his head. "Now, onto the main point...why is she here?"
Wait, why is she here and not why I'M here?
"Well, if she's your friend, you'd know she'd be here, right?"
No...all I know is that you have a hostage or hostages. I don't know who, only that it's friends, family, and followers.
"But why do I have a hostage? Are you supposed to do something for me so that I let them go?"
Well, I have to help you...move on....
He laughed and flew almost directly in my face. "You could never help me move on. I require something from a different era. A different dimension. Specifically, a zombie dimension."
I groaned internally. Please don't tell me....
"I want Ghetto's marshmallows."
I would've facepalmed if I could move without getting shocked.
You cannot be serious. You know he doesn't have those! It was just a joke!
He chuckled humorlessly as he floated back to Deana. "I've seen them before. He does have them. But that's beside the point. That's a whole other dimension. Therefore, you cannot go there. Therefore, you cannot help me move on and cannot save your friend. Therefore...you will now die. And so will she."
A stray spark (no, not you, spark) hit my ankle and I hissed a bit.
Nick touched Deana's knee lightly.
"NO! YOU CAN'T! DON'T GO, PLEASE!" She yelled as she crawled from Nick's "touch" and..into the wires in front of me.
DEANA!
She cried out as she was shocked quite severely, but the sparks allowed me to see her better.
She had burn marks all over her clothes and arms and even a few on her face.
She stared directly at me. Well, her face was turned directly at me. I couldn't really see her eyes. "Don't do it. Don't do it. It's not safe. He'll find you. He'll hurt you. Please. Don't do it, Becca."
Wh-What? Who'll find me? Who'll hurt me??
She breathed heavily as she laid back onto the ground, her arms crossed over her abdomen.
Deana?
Nick, stop!
Nick paused in his stalk towards Deana and me. "Huh?" He looked around the room but saw no one. "Who said that?"
*sigh* I did. Look, DON'T hurt Becca. She can go to other dimensions. I've sent her to them.
"Oh really? Then send her to Ghetto, now."
Wait, WHAT?! What about the others?!
"Now, or...you will stay there and get electrocuted to death."
The wires started contracting at an alarming pace.
I cried out as some more sparks hit me.
MV!!!
Hold on!
And then all was black.
*the door slowly creaks back open as the original POV teller comes in*
Ok, it's safe to say that it's not the same POV anymore.
We're are now looking through the eyes...of ilbarker.
I set my usual breakfast on the table and sit down.
"ilbahker!" Caleb yelled as he entered the Grand Hall.
I get back up and turn to him as he jumps up to me.
I catch him and hug him.
YAY!
"Hey, Mr. Caleb!" I said happily.
He pulled back and stood back on the ground, looking up at me. "ilbahker? Have you see Becca? She wasn't there when I woke up."
I frowned. "No...I haven't seen her...."
Soon, everyone was in the Grand Hall eating and chatting...except Becca.
"Uh, guys?!" I called.
Everyone quieted and turned to me.
"Has...Has anyone seen Becca today?"
I received only nos and shaking heads.
...That's not good....
I stood up as a sudden thought came to me. "Kit, Cassia, come with me."
They looked at each other and nodded, standing up.
We walked out of the Grand Hall and down the hall towards the game room.
"Knowing Becca, she REALLY doesn't want any of us hurt. She must've snuck away when we were sleeping!"
We paused in front of the door but only for a second.
I pushed the door open and walked in.
The tv was on...some kind of game, and a pale blueish figure was sitting on the couch playing the game.
The figure turned to us to show...Nick!
"Oh, uh, hi?"
I was slightly shocked. He seemed extremely passive compared to the others.
"Umm...."
"ilbarker...over there...." Kit whispered, pointing at a bunch of floating wires in the left corner of the room.
I walked over there and tried moving the wires out of the way.
"EEP!" I squeaked as I pulled my hand back swiftly.
They were electrified!
There was a sleeping girl in there, but she woke up when I squeaked.
She had darkish skin, black, squarish glasses, and a black jacket over a blue and white striped shirt...and black jeans. She...kinda looked indian.
Did Becca have a friend or follower, or family, that was indian?
I suddenly remembered a strange name she used for a hunger games sim. Palihawadana. That sounds very strange.
Maybe...this was Deana?
"Hey...are you Deana?"
She stared at me wide-eyed and I took a small step back.
She looked half-crazed.
She scrambled over to the wires but avoided touching it. "PLEASE, DON'T LET HER GO!! IT ISN'T SAFE!! HE'LL FIND HER! HE'LL HURT HER!!"
Cassia and Kit came over, but Cassia kept glancing back at Nick, but he didn't notice because he was playing again.
"Woah, calm down. Is the her you're talking about Becca? Who's he?" I asked quietly, as if talking to a scared animal.
"No...no...she's gone...she went...no...he's...gonna find her...." She mumbled, crawling up against the wall.
I turned to Nick.
"Where. Is. Becca." I growled.
Nick paused his game and turned to me. He had an...almost guilty look on his face. "The...umm...CD dimension...."
"The CD dimension? What----" I froze.
Ooooh, you cannot be serious.
Was his thing...the freaking marshmallows?!
"You freaking sent her to the CD dimension?!"
"Wait, I'm confused. What does CD mean?" Cassia asked.
I sighed. "Crafting Dead. He sent her to the Crafting freaking Dead."
He sighed sadly. "I...I didn't exactly...mean to.... It's just...she came in here and I just...kinda lost control of my emotions...."
I pouted.
It would've been cool if I could've gone there....
I looked at Deana once more before sighing. "There's nothing left for us here. Let's go back."
"Bye...I'm sorry...." Nick muttered as we left.
As I shut the door, Kit asked, "So...what now?"
I left my hand on the doorknob for a moment before looking at her.
"Well, if she's on a mission to save her friends, why don't we help?"
"But how? We're here and she's there!" Cassia pointed out.
I smirked. "I think it's time to pay a sorcerer and a scientist a little visit...."
