Chapter 1 - Jess's Request
My POV
Suddenly, my phone practically exploded in my pocket.
I jumped a little and pulled it out.
200+ NOTIFICATIONS!?
I clicked on it to see it bring up the book again since I couldn't exactly exit the book, but it brought up the comment section, which had...nearly 200 comments!
I looked at Kit, Cassia, and ilbarker to see them not-so-secretly slip phones into their pockets.
I scoffed. Do you realize how weird it is when, one, you have NEARLY TWO HUNDRED COMMENTS on a book that is ONE PART, and two, it's the characters in the book?
They decided to study other things instead of looking at me.
I facepalmed. UGHHHH, forget it....
I turned towards the kitchen door. Umm...dead people first? I asked hesitantly, looking at ilbarker.
I didn't wanna go in first. ;-;
"Girl, you died, too!" She said, putting her hands on her hips.
But I came back to life apparently.
"So did I!"
I facepalmed.
Oh for crying out loud! Rebekitah exclaimed as she walked through the door.
I bit my lip as I walked in behind her.
The kitchen did not look as it had in the last book. It was quite a mess.
Pots and pans were strewn all over the place and there seemed to be A LOT more knives than just 7 all over the floor.
Though one corner of the room seemed to be cut off in a way by floating pans facing outwards.
And...there was someone in there!
They seemed to be curled up in the corner...crying?
Or was that someone else in there?
I walked over to the pans and tried to push them aside.
They didn't budge.
The figure in the little pan jail, however, seemed to hear me.
The whispered something to someone, confirming that there were actually 2 people.
The person stood up and turned towards me, walking.
They blocked my view of the other figure, who was sniffling.
The figure was a girl, maybe a teen?
She looked vaguely familiar. She had brown hair and a purple winter cap...I think...with a black hem.
She paused and studied me.
As she studied me, however, I believed that I recognized her.
Alzakz?! I exclaimed.
She froze up as she seemed to connect the dots, too. "BECCA!?!"
She ran to me and gripped my hand that was laying on a pan. "Oh my gosh, it's really you!"
I nodded.
So...you are apparently one of the people they took?
"Took for what----" She froze and looked back as the figure behind her had stood up and came over.
I nearly had a heart attack right where I was standing.
CALEB!?
Oh my Irene, they had my little brother.
This could not be happening.
"B-B-Becca...? Becca! Please, help! I don't like it in here! It's scary!" He wailed, fresh tears pouring down his face.
I growled and looked around the pans for some kind of opening.
Screw waiting for some ghost-spirit thing.
They were NOT keeping my little brother in there.
I looked up to see that the pans seemed to end about 9 or 10 blocks up. There wasn't a roof at the top.
I squeezed my eyes shut for a second.
Magical powers of being the mastermind, don't fail me now!
I jumped up and tried flying upwards.
It worked.
I slowly flew up because I was still getting use to flying again.
Once I reached the top, however, I saw a glint from the corner of my eye before something caught my hood and knocked me into the wall, pinning me there.
I shook my head a bit and looked up to see a knife sticking halfway into the wall, my hood caught in it.
I reached up to dislodge either the knife or my hood, but as I did, I heard another swooshing sound as another knife lodged itself into the wall, the sleeve of the hand reaching for the knife caught in it.
I decided to stop there because who knew if the next one would aim for my actual hand.
I just stayed there, floating.
I turned as best I could and looked down.
Kit and Cassia were conversing with Alzakz, who was hugging my little brother.
Mental note: hug Alzakz to death later for comforting my little brother.
ilbarker and the egos were staring up at me in worry. Well, Rebekitah and ilbarker, anyway. Becky was just...glaring.
Wasn't she a bit nicer in the book she was made in?
Well, yeah, but what's the point of being the evil ego if I don't play the part of the evil ego? Becky commented. Better late than never.
I rolled my eyes and looked about the room for some kind of spirit-ghost thing.
I then noticed a light blue figure sitting on the counter not too far away from the pan jail.
It was Jess.
She was glaring at me, but the others hadn't noticed her yet. I saw a large gash across her neck and quite a bit of dried blood on her clothes.
Err...guys? Spirit over there. I called, pointing with my free hand at Jess.
Everyone turned from what they were doing and looked at Jess.
"Nice of you to finally notice me...." She growled.
Kit yelled a battle cry and tried to hit Jess with her stick, but it only passed through Jess. She just shoved Kit back.
I glared angrily at her whilst trying to secretly tug the knife out of the wall so I could get down.
Suddenly, a knife flew off the floor and directly at me, stopping horizontal to my neck probably centimeters away.
I froze, not wanting to get a slit throat.
I don't think any doctors are trained in healing slit throats.
"You know, Becca, I should kill you right now for all the pain and misery you've caused. My need to move on is only slightly greater to me than killing you." Jess said angrily.
Well, if this was considered passive, we were screwed.
I thought for a moment. Well, how about you let me down so we can talk civilly?
Jess just stared at me for a moment before the knives retracted and clattered to the floor. One of the knives almost stabbed ilbarker. Luckily, Rebekitah pulled her back before that could happen.
I floated down to the floor and looked at Jess expectantly.
Jess sighed. "Do you remember what MonoKirby said after you found that Ty was the killer?"
I thought back. Yeah.... 'So, Jess's secret was one she was most definitely not happy with, boyo. She had abandoned a friend in a place with their worst enemy to die. She could've saved him, boyo.'
Jess flinched. "Y-Yeah.... Well...that's what's holding me here. I can't move on unless I KNOW he's safe!"
I frowned. Garroth? ...well...he is! He's been in Phoenix Drop for several months!
Jess shook her head. "Those are just words.... I need to see him. I need to know he's ok. I left him in the Irene dimension with freaking ZANE! He might be dead for all I know!"
But...you can't leave.... Wait, you want us to bring him here!? He is literally in another universe!
Jess shrugged. "Well, it's your problem. If I don't see him, I can't move on. If I don't move on, you can't have your friend and brother back."
I growled. You're asking me to do the impossible! I don't have control of this book! I can't just magically whisk us to the MCD universe!
But I can.
I paused. Who da frick just said that?!
I did.
Everyone looked around confused, even Jess.
I can send you to your desired destination.
I frowned. Erm, who are you and how the heck could you do that?
Because. I am the...one who did this, I suppose.
Wait, the author? Wouldn't that be me?
Erg, don't try to logic it. This is fourth-wall breaking enough as it is. We don't need to break the fifth wall with all this logic. Yes, I suppose I am the author. Or maybe I'm not. I'm not too sure. All I know is that you caused some horrid emotions in the last book and they need to be resolved.
So....
So...let's get this show on the road! Becca, grab everyone's hands. No, don't bother with Alzakz and Caleb. They can't leave.
I paused halfway towards grabbing Caleb's hand.
I pouted.
I got all da loopholes covered. Now, seriously, grab hands.
I grabbed Kit's and Cassia's hands and they grabbed the others.
Next stop...Episode 99 of Season 1 of MCD!
I felt the sensation of grabbing a Portkey in Harry Potter and everything blurred away into black.... AKA unconsciousness.
My last thoughts?
I didn't even get to say an A/N.
;-;
