Chapter 7: Notebook

'2 Dead
14 Survivors Remaining'

The message was on a medium sized TV in the elevator. "Dammit Ant..." Blue muttered.

The usual happy Weed was leaning against a wall of the elevator, muttering to himself. "I know we just witnessed Ant's death, and Stampy's too, but we gotta still have hope!" Rage smiled. "Don't fall to despair! You have to hope 'till the end! Who knows, hope may just help us get out of this!"

"You got a point there." I replied. "Stampy did try and help us to get some more hope by suggesting the party!"

The elevator door opened and we filed out. Everyone looked a bit better. "I'm exhausted." Martijn sighed.

"Well I'm gonna go to sleep you baby." Bonkers look at him. "See you guys." And she jogged off to her cabin.

Martijn rolled his eyes and went to his. After pretty much everyone left Rage put a hand on my shoulder. "How are you?"

"Good." I smiled at him. "After Ant was punished I never thought we would take it this well... To be honest, I didn't think I would take murder that well and I would be freaking out."

Rage grinned. "Yeah... You got lots of hope, you know that?"

"I think that little talk in the elevator helped calm everyone down though." Sketch didn't go back yet. Same with Sub.

Then, Sub waved and went to his cabin. "You both took that really well." Sketch added. "Anyways, good night!" And he left too.

Now it was only me and Rage. "Wanna walk back together?" I asked. Rage nodded.

"The murder and punishment still set me off though." Rage admitted. "It's just horrible, to see someone dead, or dying, right in front of your eyes. Trying to make us fall to despair instead of go to hope..."

"What's with you and hope?" I wondered.

"Hope is a great thing..." Rage looked up at the sky and stopped. "I think that hope is what helps you progress at life..." He started walking again. "If you want to fall to despair, you need hope to crush... And you need hope to wish for things, do things... That sort of stuff. Get it?"

"Yeah." I replied. "Hope is how everything starts."

"It all starts with a little hope." Rage grinned again and stopped. We were at the cabins. "Well, see you in the morning, Cura!"

" 'Night!" I went into my cabin. Oh, I wonder what's next in store...

-TIME SKIP-

I woke up to knocking on my door. "Yes?" I said tiredly.

"It's Kermit, Mango, Blue and Bonks!" I heard Blue call.

I got down from the loft and went out the door. "Morning sunshine!" Kermit smiled.

"Why are you guys waking me up?" I asked. "It's not even seven yet."

"We're trying to get everyone up before then!" Mango announced. "We found something new!"

" 'Something new'?" I repeated.

"Yeah, we'll tell you after you help us!" Bonkers smiled.

I went out and then, "Ding, ding, dong, ding! Morning everyone! Its now 7:00am!" Herobrine called over the TVs.

"Now we wait." Kermit said.

Everyone got out of their cabins eventually. We walked over to the restaurant together and sat down. "I'm gonna go check something..." Sketch walked over to the closet where we found Stampy in. "And... Gone."

"Gone?" Okward asked.

"Stampy's body is gone." Sketch stated.

"Thank god for that." Martijn sighed in relief. "I would rather not eat with a body in the closet."

"I can't take this!" Weed screamed. "Talking about bodies, friends murdering each other, a god damn trial that we're forced to do, watching our friends die?!" He collapsed and started to cry.

"Um, if no one's going to really eat anything right now..." Kermit glanced at Weed. "Me, Bonkers, Blue and Mango found something. Wanna see?"

We agreed to go. They led us to the edge of the island to find a wooden bridge. It was tied to stakes on both sides by rope and the rope spread across a gap, connecting wooden planks to it. "Is it safe?" Brit asked.

"I dunno." Bonkers shrugged. "We found it."

Then Herobrine appeared... No Alterform this time though. "Yes, Brit, this Britge is safe. See the pun?"

"Are you sure about that?" Kermit challenged.

"One hundred and ten percent!" Herobrine exclaimed and disappeared.

"I'll walk across it first." Preston said.

"You believe him?!" Ghost shouted.

"It's a fifty-fifty chance." Preston pointed out. "If the rope on the stakes start to slip, just hold onto them." And he started to head across the bridge.

Then, in a few minutes, he was safely across. "Let's all go." I suggested. Soon, we were all across.

"So this is why it's called 'The Chain Islands'." Rage said, looking around. Then he grinned. "C'mon, let's go see what's on this one!"

"Here's a map." Blue informed. "It looks like there's a forest, a cave and two buildings."

"We'll split up into three groups, Bonkers, Blue, Weed and Kermit can go check out the forest, Sub, Sketch, Ghost, Preston and Martijn can go to the cave, and me, Rage, Brit, Mango and Okward will go to the buildings." I commanded. "We'll meet back here after."

Then, we all headed with our groups without question. "Curaxu and Mango go to that building and me and Okward can go to that building." Rage instructed.

We did that. "Welp, it's definitely bigger then our houses." Mango remarked.

There was two floors, stairs going up to the second floor, bookshelves lined the walls and there were three desks each with cushioned chairs, a small stack of paper and a writing utensil holder on this corner. On the top floor there were scattered paper and books around, some were stacked, some weren't.

"This is so cool!" Mango exclaimed. "It's like the top floor went through a crisis or something!"

"Why though?" I asked and went up the stairs.

"I dunno." Mango shrugged. "It may have something to do with this!" She threw a notebook at me.

I caught it and looked at the cover. It was flimsy, a yellow colour and a piece of notebook paper was probably ripped out and stuck to the front of the book with tape. 'The Most Despairing Incident of Minecraftian History' was scribbled on the paper. I flipped it over and a small piece of paper was in the corner and 'Brice Purton, Ultimate Minecraft Level Artist' was scribbled on it.

"Who's Brice Purton?" I asked. Sticky notes were sticking out of it all over.

Mango came beside me and I handed it to her. "No clue." She looked over it and handed it back.

I took it, opened it up and...

"Ah, ah, ah! That isn't for you!" Herobrine snatched it away. "Oh, Brice... Left your notebook huh? Too bad, so sad..."

Alterform appeared. "Alter, go dispose of this." Herobrine handed the notebook over to him.

He lit up a bit more and nodded. "Yes Master." And Alter disappeared with the book.

"It's just rude to look through someone else's property ya know... Bye!" And Herobrine disappeared too.
