Life 2 - Chapter 20
I put my hand over my mouth and turned away, trying to withhold the bile rising in my throat.
"What...sick...inhumane person would do this!?" Mitch exclaimed as he rubbed my back, him turned away from the sight as well.
I looked at Sky to see him in shock.
He didn't move. He didn't even look like he was even breathing.
All of a sudden, he fell to his knees and cried out, "JINNNN!!!!"
My heart shattered from the despair in his voice.
I looked around a bit, refusing to turn my head in the slightest to the body.
Ian shook his head and walked out the door, probably to tell Sub and Crainer what it was...in a less grotesque (HOLY CRAP I SPELLED THAT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. GO ME.) fashion.
Mark stared at the body in slightly disgusted fascination.
I couldn't see Seto or Ross, so I was gonna assume they were near the body. I wouldn't dare check.
Barney was by Sky, hugging him softly and whispering things to him. Sky just cried.
Quentin looked emotionless, but deep in his eyes were some signs of disgust and empathetic pain.
Once the bile had retreated, I spoke. "S-Seto, Ross, do you see anything worthwhile?"
Ross sighed. "The person cut the spinal cord, killing him instantly. However, they then proceeded to do...this...."
"Any knives, sharp objects? Any signs as to when he died?" Mitch asked.
Seto spoke. "The blood is still flowing, meaning it couldn't have been more than a few hours ago. There's a knife under his hand, but this is clearly no suicide."
Barney helped Sky up and walked him out of the room. I caught a snippet of Barney's words.
"---better place...."
Jin was definitely in a better place.
I grabbed Mitch's hand and said, "Let's go check out the rooms downstairs."
"Mk, biggums." He replied.
We ran down the stairs and into the hallway.
We started checking each room, Mitch taking the left side, me the right.
I was about to check Mark's room when that annoying voice rang out. "DING-A-LING, DING-A-LING, BOYO!! Time's up! Head to the Grand Hall for the Castle Trial!"
Mitch left Seto's room and looked at me. He saw the terror in my eyes.
What if we guess wrong again?
We'd only have one more attempt.
He came over and kissed me. I relaxed slightly.
"Biggums," he whispered, "don't worry. We'll find out who did it."
I nodded and we proceeded to the Grand Hall.
Once everyone was in, including our now 5 dead friends' paintings, MonoKirby announced the start of the trial.
Quentin sighed. "We don't have much to go on. No one at the moment can be ruled out. Unless...."
He put on his thinking face and turned to MonoKirby, who was standing on Ty's podium.
"MonoKirby, when the body announcement goes off, does the murderer count as one of the people to set it off?"
He thought for a moment. "No, but I had the mastermind lower the number of people that needed to see the body from 3 to 2 because SOMEONE...." He glared at me and Mitch. I just stuck my tongue at him. "...kinda abused that, boyo."
Quentin let out a frustrated groan. "Ok, so we can't rule out the three of us that saw the body, then. All I can say is, I didn't do it."
"We never got a chance to go into the kitchen." I said sadly.
Seto looked around at all our different expressions, some in horror, some emotionless, some shocked. "This is a risky move, but can anyone in here vouch for another in knowing they wouldn't do it?"
Ian immediately perked up. "Dood, I can vouch for both Crainer and Sub. Crainer especially. He doesn't like gore whatsoever. Sub is too quiet, too...reserved. He holds no grudges with anyone here."
"Sky." Mitch said. "And no one can deny it. Why would he kill his own lover? Did you see his reaction? You can't fake that.... I know what it's like to think a lover is dead. I had a somewhat similar reaction when I found Jerome."
"...Barney...." Sky said, his voice cracking from his crying. "He's too kind. He's the super optimist, too."
Some other people vouched for others, but I zoned out.
Something about the way Jin looked...seemed...familiar.
And then it clicked.
(Warning: Spoiler alert for the Wattpad book by @Squeaker01 called "5 Nights At Freddy's- SSundee, Pewdiepie and Sky". Go check it out before continuing. Or don't. I'd recommend, though. IT'S A REALLY GOOD BOOK. Ok, I'll shut up now.)
There was a couple sentences that stood out in my mind from the chapter called 'Seventh Night'.
Pewds moved too slow, darting forward to grab his friend's other arm as Marionette threw Mark to the ground, seizing the back of his neck, digging its claws into his skin. He was going to rip his spine out.
Rip his spine out.
His...spine out.
Spine...out....
"Mark...." I whispered, barely audible.
The talking ceased immediately and everyone looked at me.
Geez, they didn't hear what I said, but they heard me whisper?
"W-What? Could you repeat that, Jerome?" Quentin asked.
I gulped, praying I was right. "M-Mark.... Mark did it!"
Mark looked stunned. "Me?" He said in a high pitch voice, like he was commentating a question.
I nodded. "Yeah. You."
"A-Are you sure, biggums? You know what'll happen if you're wrong...." Mitch said sadly.
Repeating the timeline....
"I'm positive. Mitch, remember when Sky told you he saw me going into the library? I was in the library. Mark recommended this book, '5 Nights At Freddy's- SSundee, Pewdiepie and Sky' because it had you in it, too. I read the whole thing, but near the end of the book, I remember a specific sentence."
Mark was getting more and more tense with each word that came from my mouth.
"A character in the book, something called Marionette, dug his claws into the back of Mark's neck. 'He was going to rip his spine out.' What happened to Jin? ...I don't have to say. We ALL know."
We all turned to Mark. He was super tense and was gripping his podium, refusing to look at us.
"Mark?" Ross asked.
Mark said nothing.
Mitch sighed, then began talking the same way he did at the other two trials. "For some reason, Jin was in the 2nd floor library. At this point, Mark was also up. He got a knife from the kitchen and quickly went into the second floor library. He most likely knocked Jin out before severing his spinal cord. But he wasn't done. He proceeded to...rip his spine out, turning it from a murder to leave to a murder for fun."
Mark just stood frozen.
MonoKirby stared at Mark for a bit before shrugging. "Seems y'all've made your choices!"
The podium top slid back once again and, without hesitation, I pressed Mark's name.
MonoKirby smirked evilly in Mark's direction as he leapt onto the slot machine that rose from the center, Barney's, Nick's, and Ty's faces on it.
He then leapt onto the lever, causing it to spin.
Mark. Mark. Mark.
The word popped up.
GUILTY
"Correct, boyo! Mark is indeed the killer!" MonoKirby said way too happily.
Sky gave Mark the death glare. "H-How c-c-could you?!!" Sky growled.
Mark looked away from his gaze. "I was jealous. Jealous of Ian and Crainer. You and Jin. Mitch and Jerome. I just wanted to kill one of you. I let my emotions get the better of me. For what it's worth, I'm sorry."
If looks could kill...yeah....
"It's not worth jack ****!" Sky yelled, fresh tears pouring down his face.
I looked over at the slot machine to, once again, see the pixelated MonoKirby run on screen, suck up Mark, and run off screen.
MonoKirby grinned madly. "Welp, goodbye, King of FNAF!"
The floor slid from beneath Mark, and he fell with a yelp.
Once again, we were corralled into the small room. We couldn't see anything in the other room. It was too dark.
Suddenly, lights flashed on to reveal Mark in a chair, his feet chained in place to the ground.
On both his sides were old-looking doors with buttons next to them saying 'Light' and 'Door' It looked like he'd be able to reach them pretty easily.
A camera monitor was lying on the desk in front of Mark. We couldn't see his face until a tiny screen popped up in the corner of our room. It was a hidden camera in the front of the tiny office looking place.
Mark looked scared to death.
MonoKirby appeared on the monitor and hopped off it, handing it to Mark.
MonoKirby looked at both the doors before grinning.
"Well, then. This'll be fun."
He pulled out his infamous button and hovered his hand over it.
"Let the execution...."
He pressed the button and disappeared.
The glass to the other room blackened and words popped up.
'Night 7 Permanent 12AM'
It faded away to show Mark again.
"BEGIN, BOYO! HEHEHEHE!!!"
