Sleepwalking
I think I'm sleepwalking
Stumbling through this syrupy stupor
Dazed and directionless
As I pass into this new place
I know I've been here before
Going through the motions
Tripping tactlessly towards nothing
Fumbling over my own feet
Waking me could do more damage
You shouldn't wake a sleepwalker
Someone shaking me senseless
Might do me more damage
A gentle voice breathes into my ear
Guarding and guiding me
Like an angel beside me
A whisper of wings to save me
Hope lightens my heavy eyes
Soft singing saves my spirit
I think I'm sleepwalking
But I'm not even sure I'm asleep anymore
Hey everyone!!! I've never been sleepwalking to my knowledge so I'm imagining I know what it's like here. I had fun with some alliteration in this poem rather than rhyme. Let me know what you think. I hope you enjoyed it.
