anna and timothée arrived at ansal and violetta's apartment. the party was also a birthday party for timothée since his birthday was on the 27th. this was anna's first social appearance since she came back from norway and she was petrified of what could go wrong. her thoughts were interrupted by ansal elgort answering the door. anna was completely star struck of him and wished she chose a better dress even though it was an 80s themed party (her favorite decade by the way).

"timmy! happy birthday man! it's an honor to finally meet you, anna. violetta is inside and the drinks are in the kitchen." ansal said with a big smile on his face. timothée and ansal did a special handshake and bro hug which caused anna to laugh.

she walked into the kitchen to find the drinks. she was still anxious and needed the alcohol to calm down. she found the punch bowl and asked a random dude what was in the punch bowl.

"what's in the punch bowl?" anna asked the guy. the guy looked at her and took a swig of the drink from his cup.

"fuel!!" the guy yelled. she felt as if she was nancy in stranger things. she needed alcohol and fast. she took her cup and chugged the alcohol. it burned her throat but she didn't care. she loved the way it made her feel. she was about to get another cup when timothée took the cup from her hand.

"not gonna happen. come on to the dance floor and show me that your hips don't lie."timothée stated as he drank from her cup. anna blushed and grabbed her cup from his hand.

"fine birthday boy i'll dance as long as i get my alcohol." the blonde smirked and refilled her drink. she grabbed his hand and led them to the dance floor. she loved the music that was playing. it was 80s music and she was feeling the aesthetic.

timothée was in awe with her dancing just like the day he met her. he knew he was going to ask her out tonight. he wanted to take this friendship to the next level. he was crazy about this girl he knew damn well that he didn't want to lose her. ansal took the mike and raised his glass.

"i'd like to make a toast. little timmy tim, i've known you since high school and i'm so proud that you're a nominated actor. happy belated birthday, brother. to timothée and happy new year everyone!" ansal said causing the crowd to toast to the brunette. timothée blushed and drank the rest of his drink.

hours had passed since the toast. anna and timothée were tipsy. it was almost midnight and everyone began to find someone to kiss. the song "dancing in the dark" by bruce springsteen was playing in the background and was anna's favorite song.

"this is my favorite song!" anna said loudly through the music. timothée looked perplexed and had no idea that anna liked 80s music.

"i didn't know you liked 80s music!" timothée replied laughing.

"there's a lot of things you don't know about me chalamet." anna replied with a smirk. alcohol caused anna to become confident and flirty. timothée smirked at the blonde and pulled her closer to him. they both began singing to each other and dancing like idiots. they were so caught up in other that they didn't realize the crowd started counting down.

"ten, nine, eight."

"anna williams, you're the most beautiful girl i've ever seen. would you do the honors of going on an official date with me?" timothée asked over the noise. anna was shocked and had no idea how to respond.

"six, five, four"

"holy shit! yes i'd love to go on a date with you!" anna replied smiling. timothée beamed with glee and spun her around in his arms.

"three, two, one. happy new year!"

timothée leaned in and closed the gap between the two. he pressed his lips onto hers. anna was shocked at first but kissed him back. the pair pulled away from each other and hugged one another.

"happy new year anna williams, i'd dance in the dark with you any time." timothée said kissing her again.
