A canvas filled my vision when I first woke up. I wanted to jolt upwards, survey the scene and dart away. Yet my limbs did not respond, my movements were sluggish, my back still while my thoughts ran at a hundred miles per hour. I knew I'd been abducted, maybe the weird needle thing was a drug. Me? Get abducted? I wanted to laugh but the situation didn't call for it.

Karma works fast, my mind sneered. I almost nodded in agreement.

Stay focused! Another part of me shrilled.

So according to the canvas wherever I was, it was an encampment. From the light passing through and the stuffy heat, I was guessing that it was probably about mid-afternoon. Perhaps when the sun went down I might be able to sneak out. I shifted onto my side, hoping to get a better view. If it weren't for the weird drug thing I probably would've ran very far by now. I think it was also keeping me calm and logical, good thing too.

I looked around the tent, there was a small cot across from me which was empty. I was on a bed of blankets it seemed. The tent flap was open and pulled back, outside, small figures darted around, too fast for me to make sense of. Were they birds? There were scrolls and papers tossed around and on a chair a boy sat.

He was probably about sixteen, he had mousy, hart hair and wild green eyes. His feet were bare and his skin, although lightly tanned, was dirty. He wore a dark shirt and pants, the shirt was a combination of what seemed like forest materials. I blinked, who wears leaves and dirt for clothes? My mind laughed. The guy's face was rounded and he looked as if he was stuck somewhere in the process of puberty; his face was shaped, yet still rounded. His dark eyebrows were pulled down into a frown as he read through a book in his lap.

The floor of the tent was mostly soft dirt yet the spot around me was filled with grasses and wildflowers. Maybe if they didn't make too much noise, I'd be able to sneak out. He, whoever he was, seemed to be pretty grossed in his book.

I slowly began shifting my weight onto my stomach so I was in a lizard slash spy crawl and began working my way towards the tent. Thank you dance for upper body strength. No matter how far I crawled I was always sneaking between grasses, I would've preferred the soft ground but okay.

I kept watching the guy's reaction and I was almost at the door before he spoke. "Don't even think about it." His eyes flicked upwards and we locked gazes, I froze.

Escape! My mind shrilled and I blinked out of my temporary hypnosis state.

"Too late." I smirked before jumping to my feet and running off. I ran into the camp, my padded feet almost running through the glowing embers of the fire. I cursed and stumbled backwards in surprise. I quickly took in my surroundings; I was in a dense thick jungly forest place. The sky above me was beginning to darken. The clearing around me was empty but when I looked up I noticed tents strung among their branches. I saw faces through the leaves, draw arrows. The shafts of the arrows glinting menacingly.

The guy got to the entrance of his tent and I began to run through the trees. My fear blinding my judgement. Overhead, lightning flashed, adding to my erratic mind state. Rain began to pour downwards in large, fat drops of water, hitting my shin harshly, leaving little stings behind.

Strings of my hair stuck to my face and my throat became sore from all the heavy breathing I was doing. As I ran, I prayed that I wouldn't trip and fall into mud or anything of the sort.

In front of me, the boy appeared. I screeched and halted suddenly, slipping in the mud and falling to the ground. He made a grab for me and I ducked under his arm and in another direction of the forest. The lightning above me began to increase in activity. Rain churned into puddles underfoot. I began to sense where the best spot to put my feet were and almost flew across the uneven terrain.

I almost let out a holler of joy when a cold arm snaked its way around my chest and pulled me back. The world blurred for a second and then cleared, I realised that we were back at the camp. I thrashed and screamed yet they guy hold my firmly.

"Calm down!" He cried in my ear, then he snarled, "Just shut up." He threw me onto the ground of the tent. The flaps slammed shut, probably from the wind. His eyes were furious and his breathing heavy, his chest rose and fell. Droplets of water ran down his face and his hair clung to his forehead.

I whimpered as the rain outside decreased. I slowly shifted backwards, grass brushing my backside.

Something changed in the guy's eyes, a triumphant look, as if he'd just won whatever he was doing. A cruel smirk worked its way onto his face.

"I'm Peter," he said, "Peter Pan, and welcome to Neverland."
