"I know sorry sweetie, did the message of my arrival come out nice to Zoey?"

"No, I didn't tell her anyways, you know she hates you." I grabbed my skateboard since I didn't to get late again.

"Not. My. Fault," he clarified.

"Yes, your fault, if you acted better with her. I bet 10 bucks she won't be as mad as she is with you now," I explained.

"I know, I know! Stop getting all mothery right now," he said.

"Mothery?" I asked, raising an eyebrow even though he couldn't see me right now.

"Umm.. yeah?" it came out more like a question.

"What the hell does that mean?" I asked, as I laughed incredulously. What kind of idiot comes up with that word?

"I don't know. It's just something," he said, letting his annoyance with me show clearly.

"I just had an amazing explanation," I pointed out.

"Glad I could be a dictionary but I'm not sweetie. Deal with it," he said.

"I am!"

I could literally feel him roll his eyes from the other side. 

"Anyways, what's up with your phone? You never answer, but when I call on the landline you always pick up, what's going on Kyle?" he asked.

"Nothing much, some guy's just got my phone. Listen I would love to stay and talk but I gotta go, this is not worth the shouts from Mr. Zac. Trust me!"

"But-"

"Bye!" I forced and end the call.

I didn't want to start the topic again. I just skateboarded to high school.

Just as I reached the entrance, I heard Kody's voice. I turned to see her waving at me and yeah before I knew I bumped into something. Or someone?

My books flew into the air. Without looking up I muttered and apology and started collecting my books still refusing to meet my eyes with it.

"Are you okay?" it said.

I recognized that voice, it sounded familiar and that's when it hit me.

"Ryder," Our eyes now locked at each others.

"Good step-sister?" he smirked.

I raised an eyebrow at him, "Seriously?"

"Need help?"

"No, it's fine I'm almost done,"

"So, I finally got to see you! In flesh," he said, the smirk 

"Yeah," I said with a sigh.

"You're beautiful, I wonder why I never noticed you around?"he said looking at me and then stupidly scratching his head. I laughed at his attempt of flirting.

"Pathetic," I said, rolling my eyes and starting to walk away once I had collected all my books. 

All his friends laughed around him and slapped his back hard a couple of times.

He ran to catch up with me. This time he chuckled, "Turns out your the opposite of what I expected,"

"In a good way or bad?" I asked as I slowed down a bit until we were walking side-by-side.

"Both. Good as in I like that you're feisty and bad as in I can't call you 'good step-sister' anymore," he pouted. God, he was so adorable.

"Wait a second, did you bring my phone?" I asked hopefully.

"Shit, I'm really sorry, good step-sister, I didn't plan on meeting you like this, so I left it charging near my bed today," he reasoned.

"Great," I muttered.

"I told you, I'm sorry," he said shrugging.

"Fine, whatever. Get it next time we meet, coincidentally or not, get me?"

He smiled, seeming happy at my forgiveness and said, "We've got a deal,"

I finally collected all the books and then was heading out when I heard him call out, "Hey, I never caught your name! What is it?"

"Kylie," I answered under my breath, smiling and blushing this time as I walked out.

"Kylie," I heard him repeat. He was going to be the death of me. Just shut up Kylie! You just met him!

I got back home and lazily threw my bag in the sofa. Zoey walked in right after I did and did the same.

"I got a party to attend, so move your little butt and give me some space to walk," she said, blinking innocently a couple of times.

"Sure, whatever," I moved.

"Thanks!"she sarcastically said as she hurried along.

Not knowing what else to do I went to my room and buried my head in the pillow rethinking all the events that happened at school. I think I heard a click of the door, so I assumed that Zoey left to the party she was talking about.

The thought of Ryder talking to me made me smile. Right then, in came the very person I was really hoping to see right now.

"Gosh, what's making my sweetie smile so much? Or should I just say who?" A boy's voice came. I saw the guy and my jaw dropped open. He was wiggling his eyebrows at me.

"Keith!" I screamed out loud and flung into his arms, so thrilled to be in my brother's six-packed body again.

"But, I talked to you this morning and you didn't tell me you were coming!" I groaned, frustrated.

"So you did miss me, huh?"

I didn't answer that one. I just cuddled more into his arms feeling comfortable with him beside me.
I can't tell you how much I missed him.

Gosh, I missed my elder brother so much.
