Chapter 22

I woke up by the sound of a notification from the phone. Now I wouldn't exactly consider it mine as Zoey lend one of her used phones to me for the time being. This phone was irritating me so much, though.

It kept on vibrating!

I slammed my palm onto the phone as if it would just shut up by the touch of it.

It didn't stop.

I groaned and forced my eyes to open.

Still not liking the fact that I was awoken by my phone and in a bad mood, I picked up the phone to see what all of this commotion was of.

Personally, I think that waking up by your phone is one of the worst tortures you could get early morning.

Still sleepy, I lifted the phone to my ear and mumbled an inaudible 'hello' grumpily.

"Kylie Spencer! What do you think you're doing?" a voice screamed. My eyes shot open and I almost fell out of bed if not for the dressing table to help me.

"Forget me," I gritted through clenched teeth, "Ms. Zoey Spencer, what do you think you're doing waking me up at seven in the morning by literally giving me a heart attack?!" I was annoyed. Annoyed that I almost died due to my not-so-lovely sister.

It's official. I hate her.

In my defense, she almost tried to kill me early in the morning by giving me a heart attack.

"You were still sleeping?!" she screamed back before realization hit her,"Oh. Sorry about that. Didn't realize it was still seven a.m. over there," she mumbled sheepishly. "It's already noon here,"

"Doesn't change the fact that you woke me up," I grumbled.

"Sorry," she muttered before she remembered something, "Wait! I take all of that back! I'm not sorry! For the second time, what do you think you're doing?!" she demanded furiously.

"If you'd stop screaming over the phone and maybe stop trying to talk in riddles, I might as well understand what you mean and where you're going with this,"

"Well, you douche. Let me remind you that you're an idiot and a hopeless case," she said.

"What in the bloody world did I do so wrong this time that you won't quit insulting me and letting me go back to bed in the morning?!" I asked, matching her tone.

"You stupid, idiotic, crazy, mad-" she rambled.

"Get on with it," I cut her off.

"The point is that you- a horrible excuse for a human- forgot your own crutches when you literally have a broken foot," she hissed.

My jaw dropped open as I reminded myself where I kept it last. Surely, I brought it with me... Didn't I?

It was then when I realized that I didn't, in fact, being my crutches with me. I jumped out of the bed into the cold floor.

I could walk! I could finally walk! All of the pain paid off!

Oh my goodness!

I didn't figure that I was screaming into the phone until Zoey disconnected the call, probably terrified that I'd burst her eardrums.

I dropped my phone onto the floor, not caring about it anymore as I tested it out. How did I not realize this? I was too caught up in fury that I completely forgot about this!

Yes!

I was jumping in the air right now, screaming in pure excitement when someone ran in my door.

"Are you okay, Ma'am-" the security guard asked, genuinely concerned until he realized that there was absolutely no reason I was screaming.

"I'm fine and even better!" I replied cheerfully before adding, "How about you?"

He mumbled a few swear words under his breath. "Ma'am, you are not to wake up all the hotel guests at seven a.m. Around four guests called me right now telling me that someone was screaming so loudly and there was an emergency up here. I had to find in a pair of extra keys and run up here!" he explained, clearly annoyed.

"I'm sorry to hear about that," I said, "But it's not exactly my fault that they thought I was in an emergency,"

"I know, Ma'am but we have policies that you'd signed before getting access to the room-"

"Too bad, I don't remember reading anyone of them," I shrugged nonchalantly.

He clenched his teeth hard together, mumbling under his breath once again about idiots and how they land up coming to this hotel.

"Well, Ma'am," he started in a sickeningly sweet tone,"If you want to stay in this hotel, then you'll have to stick to the policies or you get kicked out,"

"Sweet," I replied and motioned to the door.

He merely shook his head and rolled his eyes before leaving and slamming the door hard behind him.

Was it just me who thought that the service here was horrible?

I'll change hotels if I have to cope up with his behavior. I swear.

Hopefully, their guard won't be so annoying.

"Such a sweet day to start a day," I sighed dreamily thinking about how I could walk again, "Only to be ruined by some idiotic guard,"

On second thoughts, maybe... just maybe... I've already dropped on this plan on killing Ryder altogether.

Nothing can ruin my mood today. Nothing. Not even that guard.

I got ready soon after that. I'll deal with Ryder later. For now, I was going to enjoy this country.

It seemed beautiful from the moment I stepped out of it.

After tying my hair into a ponytail, I turned away from the mirror and grabbed my phone from the ground.

It was all fine until I noticed the crack on the phone. I tried to switch it on, but it just wouldn't.

I groaned internally as I recalled dropping the phone on the floor. I didn't think that the phone would be so delicate, though!

I take all my words back. Guess something can ruin my mood after all.

To think it was a god damn phone.

Well, too bad, Ryder. Luck doesn't seem on your side lately and actually wants you dead.

Change of plans! Ryder's going down...

Sighing, I threw off my shoes which I had worn so excitedly, thinking about having a stroll in one of the best places 'round here.

Guess the stroll will have to wait.

I have some planning to do for today...
