Soobin tilted his head.
"I'm sorry?"
"You. You bit me. You're the bug." Mina repeated herself, but she looked almost in a daze.
Nari was holding Mina's hand, looking at Soobin.
Her heart was pounding - was it true? There was no proof that there were vampires, but could Soobin be it?
Why did Mina seem so adamant about it being him all of a sudden, however?
"Mina, what do you mean about this?" Jihyo asked, stepping away from all of them, her face draining of colour.
"I can't be here, I'm sorry."
She ran to the door, but in the blink of an eye Soobin was in front of her.
"You'll forget I was ever here, and that Mina was bitten. It was just a bug after all. You'll go back to class, and that's where you were all of lunch." He whispered, as Jihyo walked off calmly.
Nari couldn't believe it. What was that?
She was freaking out, but then with a few words she was calm.
Nari kept a hand around Mina's, the other around the charm of her necklace.
It would keep her safe from him, right?
Soobin walked calmly over.
"Mina, I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't do this to you, so who did?" He asked, as she shook her head.
"You did. He told me you did." Mina repeated.
He stepped closer.
"Who told you?"
"Yeonjun." She repeated, as Nari felt her heart drop.
She let go of Mina's hand, stepping back.
She felt the bars of the balustrade behind her as she leant down, covering her ears, not wanting to hear any more of it.
What the hell was happening?
Soobin cursed, as he walked up to Mina, holding her chin.
"You weren't bitten. It was just a bug, after all. I didn't do it to you, and neither did Yeonjun. It was no one, and you'll go back to the cafeteria and forget you were ever here." He compelled, turning to Nari, who had her eyes closed and hands over her ears.
Soobin crouched down slowly in front of her, reaching for her wrist.
Nari could sense he was in front of her, but she wanted him to go away. She was terrified for some reason, but she didn't know why.
Maybe it's because she knew there was something off about him, the supernatural world or not.
"Nari." Soobin said slowly, as she opened her eyes.
It looked as if he was staring directly into her soul, her hands now in his.
"Are you scared of me?" He asked, his eyes holding their position as Nari tried to look anywhere and everywhere but his face.
Soobin sighed. He heard the bell ring, as Nari went to move, he held her still.
"I can make you not afraid anymore. You can forget everything that happened here, and you won't have to live in fear. Do you want that?" Soobin asked gently, rubbing the back of her hands.
"I don't trust you." She whispered in response, trying to take her hands back.
"Trust me then." He compelled, but she shook her head.
"I can't."
He tilted his head.
"Why didn't that work." He asked, but almost to himself.
Nari glanced down at her necklace, his eyes following hers.
"That's pretty. Where did you get it from?" He asked.
He was speaking so gently that Nari almost believed he was okay.
But she could see the veins pulsating under his eyes, and the faint fangs in his mouth.
"Beomgyu."
Soobin seethed. "Of course. Are you able to take it off for me? I want to look at it."
Nari shook her head. "I can't."
Soobin sighed, leaning in as he placed his lips on Nari's neck.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, as she felt his fangs enter her neck, his hand over her mouth muffling her screams.
In an instant she heard the necklace clatter far away, hearing the sizzling of Soobin's skin as he pulled back, licking his lips.
"Yeonjun wasn't wrong. But we can't do this to you, because we'll ruin you, Nari." Soobin sighed, biting his wrist as he offered it to her.
"Drink."
She didn't want to, but she had to.
Soobin watched her the whole time, cautiously.
He was going to have to have a word with Beomgyu, and ask why he gave Nari the one thing that blocks them.
That, and talk to Yeonjun about Mina.
He lied to him.
"Nari, I'm going to make you forget about me, okay? Because it's a problem for me if you know." Soobin asked, as Nari shook her head.
"Why. I should know this. You're a vampire, aren't you?" She asked, as Soobin smiled slightly.
"Yes, a very old and powerful one."
"Has Yeonjun been drinking me? Is he not actually interested in me at all?" Nari pressed, as Soobin sighed.
"I don't know what goes on in that man's head."
He then held her chin gently, looking right into her eyes.
"You're going to forget what happened at lunch today. All of it. Me being a vampire, Mina being bitten by Yeonjun, and everything else. You spent lunch on the roof. Me and you spoke, and we became friends. That's all you will remember. I'm sorry." He whispered, and with that he was gone.
Nari blinked, rubbing her neck.
There was blood, but pulling out her phone, there were no cuts.
She looked for Soobin. Why had he suddenly left her after getting so close.
"What leeches." A boy scoffed, as Nari glanced over.
In the shadows, a boy was sitting, his hair falling down his face, a mole prominent under his eye.
"Can I help you?" Nari asked, walking over slowly.
"Yes, you can actually. Do you know someone by the name of Yeonjun? We go wayyyy back." He asked, as Nari nodded.
"Yeah, he's my friend. Oh, I'm Nari by the way. You are?" She asked, as he smiled.
"Hyunjin. Pleasure to meet you." He smiled.
Nari smiled back, before going to leave the rooftop.
She opened the door, Yeonjun on the other side.
He pulled Nari into a hug.
"Fuck where were you? Did you skip dance? What happened?" He asked, looking her up and down.
"Oh this poor girl." A voice chided, as Yeonjun glanced over Nari's shoulder, his smile dropping.
"Oh, I didn't realise you dogs came to play." Yeonjun scoffed, keeping Nari pressed against him.
Hyunjin just smiled, hands in pockets.
"Well, we found you. Are you ready to run away again?"
