The Sleeping Stranger
Dan had an exam tomorrow and, surprise, surprise, he had done absolutely no revision. Of course, that didn't matter until the day before. That was why he was currently running to Starbucks, his law textbook under one arm and his notebook under the other. He used his elbows to push open the door and rushed inside to the counter and, luckily he was the only one in line. Dan ordered a strong coffee because he definitely needed something to keep him awake. He threw his books down onto a nearby table and grabbed his drink from the barista.
Dan took a sip of his coffee as he flipped open his notebook to his first set of notes. His eyes grazed over the first paragraph and that was when he realised that it would be a long day.
One hour and one and a half coffees later, Dan had just about had enough of studying. His eyes were drooping and he knew that, if he spent any longer reading about law, he would fall asleep but, still, he pushed himself.
He flipped the page and felt like he wanted to scream internally. He was so tired and bored and what was the point in law and what was he doing with his life and-
His head hit the text book and he was out like a light.

Phil wandered into his nearest Starbucks with one thing set in his mind, coffee. He strode towards the desk and ordered his iconic drink. He collected it and turned to find somewhere to sit and relax. Phil noticed a boy sitting on his own towards the front with his head on top of a book. Phil decided to sit next to him (he was all alone). Once he walked closer, he noticed that the boy was actually asleep so he turned to leave but then he realised that the boy probably shouldn't be asleep. He had papers scattered all around and a text book opened in front of him with (most likely) important information in. Phil didn't want to wake the boy up. Phil secretly thought the boy was kind of cute. He looked so innocent and adorable, it would be a shame if he woke up.
'Stop looking at the boy, you idiot. Wake him up!' Phil's mind yelled at him, making him jump slightly and blush when he realised he was actually staring at the stranger. Phil tapped the boy on the shoulder to no avail. He cleared his throat- still- to no avail. "Excuse me." He said, shaking the stranger.
"Mum, stop it." The boy mumbled and Phil let out a loud laugh. The laugh was loud enough to snap the stranger out of his sleepy state. "What- you're not my mum.. I'm so sorry!" The boy stammered, a dark blush spreading across his face.
"It's fine. I think you should be doing homework? Starbucks isn't a place to sleep, you know?" This only made the boy blush harder.
"Revision actually. I fell asleep because it was so boring. Why did I ever take law?" The stranger muttered, a frown on his face.
"Law? You have to be extremely smart to take a subject like that." Phil chuckled and the boy shrugged, avoiding Phil's gaze.
"Actually no, not really. I thought it would look smart but apparently it is the most boring thing ever. It literally makes me what to jump off a cliff."
"You're at university, right? What year?" Phil subconsciously took a seat and the boy's table, sipping at his mildly warm coffee.
"It's my first year. So far it is hell."
"I agree, I'm on my third year and it is still hell."
"What's your name? I haven't asked yet?"
"Phil, Phil Lester, yours?"
"Dan Howell."
The chatted for a long time. They only stopped because Starbucks had reached its closing time (sadly). They both left, going their separate ways but not without exchanging numbers first.
So cute omg.
What country are you from? (Don't feel obliged to respond)
