Nier POV

I began to wake up from sleeping better this time after experiencing that strange nightmare. I still don't know who that was or why they felt so familiar. But it's probably better that I don't think about it. I get up and brush my teeth before putting on my outfit. Something ends up tugging on my belt and I look to see Yonah awake.

Yonah: Don't leave yet. Stay in bed a little longer.

I kneel down a bit to Yonah and hug her.

Nier: I promise that I'll be back before tonight. I'll even get you some of Mama Mia's turkey.

Yonah: Promise?

Nier: Promise.

Yonah hugs me and we let go after a few minutes. I leave the church and head for the Dungeon. It's not sunrise yet, so I figured I'd get there before most and would have more time to keep fighitng and collecting whatever I can get from the monsters. Well, this isn't too different from before. I always got up early with Mom to train, hunt, and fight whatever monster roamed in and outside of our land. I got to the dungeon entrance and to my surprised, I saw Lili there.

Lili: Oh, Nier. Didn't think I'd see you at this time.

Nier: I could say the same for you.

Lili: Well, early bird catches the worm as they say. The sooner I can get in there, the more likely I can make more money form adventuring. I'm pretty sure you're in the same boat.

Nier: I want to get stronger.

Lili: Well, then we can kill two birds with one stone. I'm sure Bell will be coming in a few hours, so why don't we get a headstart?

Nier: Okay, so seventh?

Lili: Actually, I was thinking tenth.

Nier: Tenth? We'll I'm not against it but why you suggest that?

Lili: If you want to get stronger, then why not try to take on monsters that are stronger than usual? If things go wrong, you can just run from them.

I can sense that Lili has an alterior motive for joining up with me. But if I play my cards right, I can prevent her from stealing anything. Actually, there's something else I sense in her. It's a hatred. How can I sense that?

Nier: Alright Tenth it is. But keep in mind that I'll fight my own way. My sword is long enough for any monster that I come across down there.

Lili: I don't doubt that. Where did you get that sword?

Nier: It's a present I got from my mom.

Lili: Still a pretty impressive weapon. Alright, let's enter the dungeon.

Lili and I enter the dungeon and make our way through the levels. Once we made it to the tenth floor. I end up coming across an orc that tries to ambush me. I dodge the attack and cut it's right hand off. For the last attack, I plunge my sword into its heart before slicing its chest open and ripping out the magic stone embedded in it. However, something comes toward me, so I lean out of the way a bit and grab it. It turns out to be an arrow with a string attached. Once I yank it, I end up seeing it's tied to Lili's crossbow.

Nier: You seriously led me all the way down here just to kill me?

Lili: I was planning on stealing whatever valuables you had on you.

Nier: It's the Hestia familia. It's only been around for three weeks at most.

Lili: Every adventurer always has something valuable. No matter how small it is.

Lili then throw a smoke bomb at my face. It started to sting.

Nier: AAAGGGHH! Son of a--!

I get out of the smoke and manage to open my eyes again. I check around for Lili, but don't see her anywear.

Nier: If you run, you'll only end up running into more of the adventurers you hate.

I decide to go look for her. One, so I make her tell me why she tried to take my belonging. Two, because I know Bell wouldn't want to leave her for dead. I keep running through the floor and sense someone hiding behind a corner. I leap and roll before turning to see a man in a ponytail with a vile look on his face.

Ged: Dammit! I thought you were that little runt that's been running away.

Nier: Your part of the Soma Familia.

Ged: Yes. How did you know?

Nier: That scent of booze still reeks form your mouth.

Ged: Haha, real fucking hilarious.

Ged pulls out his sword and points it at me.

Ged: Now hand over all your belonging and I might let you live.

Nier: You know, I found something interesting a long time ago. You think killing humans would be different than killing monsters. But it turns out there is no difference. So leave now and live. Or stay and meet your end.

Ged: Oh ho. You're dead you son of a bitch.

Ged then charges at me, and I avoid the blade. He continues to slash at me and I keep dodging. Each miss, Ged grows more unstable. His wicked smile growing larger.

Ged: What!? Are you scared, you worthless fucker!?

I dodge his next attack and end up slicing both his forearms off. Blood spurts from them and Ged kneels from the pain.

Ged: AAAAAHHHHHH! F-FUUUUUUCCCCKKKK!

I walk up to Ged and ready to end him.

Nier: Who were you looking for?

Ged: A stupid, worthless, Pallum bitch called Liliruca.

I raise my blade and say the final words Ged will ever hear.

Nier: Lili? Well I can see what caused her to hate adventurers. Allow me to do her a favor!

I swing my sword down and decapitate Ged. His head rolls on the ground as blood falls from his neck. Soon his carcass leans further and falls. I walk away and decide to find a way out of the dungeon. Lili can be dealt with later, because I also need to warn Bell. However, as I make my way through the floor, I hear crying. I can also feel their pain so I begin heading for it.

I follow the crying and soon see Lili being beaten and exorted of everything by the Soma Familia. Nier begins to feel the sorrow in Lili and they even plan on leaving her for dead to the monsters of the dungeon. They go so far as to mock her for thinking that they would keep their promise to a supporter. I got angrier from hearing this. Lili tried to steal from me, but I see now that was out of desperation to get away from those guys. They see her as nothing but garbage. I feel something something growing in me. It was exactly like how I felt in that nightmare.

"You will bring retribution on those who let hubris consume them"

I heard a woman's voice echo and suddenly, my entire body felt like it was burning. Soon, I become filled with rage and everything around me turns red. I hear roaring and the men screaming.

"No!"

*SLASH*

"Stay away from me! Stay away!"

*BASH*

"N-no! No. Please don't. Don't!

*SCREAMING*, *SLASH*, *RIP*, *Death Gurgle*

The voices and noise faded away and I found myself in a part of the dungeon. I had no idea where I was, until I heard a familiar voice.

Bell: Nier!

I turn around to see Bell running toward me.

Nier: Bell?

Bell: I'm so glad you're okay.

Nier: I could say the same for you.

I look behind Bell and see Lili looking down at the floor in disgrace of everything she did.

Nier: How about we get the hell out of here? I think I've had enough of the Dungeon for today.

Bell: Good idea. Alright, let's head home. 

We walk through the floor and I see a stream of blood coming from a tunnel. I investigate it and see something horrific. The Soma Familia members that were extoring Lili were all over the cave. At least that's what I assume as I can only see a damaged emblem on the ground.

Lili: Nier. You coming?

Nier: Y-yeah. Thought I saw something.

I go join up with Bell and Lili as we head out of the dungeon.
