A/N: IMYRTH SPOILERS AHEAD (kinda). You have been warned.

Now, I'm pretty sure you're expecting to hear about our visit to the police station, our statements etc.
No. I'm not going through this bloody process again. It's been three times, already. You should know the drill by now.
Anyway, Chelsea didn't have anyone at Moiral, so we offered to plan the funeral for her. Claire did most of the work, because we had no idea how to plan a funeral, but we still tried to help her out.
After a week, everything was done, including the funera itself. It was pretty depressing and I don't really wanna get into it.
We started to take things even more seriously. We started working out (sweat, ew) and training and all that. It wasn't gonna be enough, but it was gonna be better than nothing.
We barely had time to talk to each other. We knew that Jasmine was preparing for Imyrth to be at its weakest, and this came sooner than expected.
Much sooner.
One day, out of nowhere, all communications to and from Imyrth got cut off. Jasmine and Jessie managed to get on TV and explain their motives for the first time; I mean, we knew what they wanted to do, but we had no idea why.
They believed that taking over Imyrth would expand Moiral and give people who lived in the Clonies a chance to move somewhere better without having to pay much. Imyrth was on the verge of destruction and they planned to make it better by destroying it completely first. Which was absurd. Like, seriously? Great job, girls. That is one hell if a motive.
And then the fire broke out. A huge fire that burned for a week. We could see the smoke from the hotel. Hell, the sky was reddish and we were miles away. We wondered how people would survive that.
And even worse, who or what caused that thing? We knew there were Elementalists there. What could drive an Elementalist so crazy that they would lose control like that?
We didn't have time to think about that. We had to think fast.
Where could Jasmine be hiding?
The week of the fire was a mess. Jasmine and Jessie's recruits took over the Fate Office and all the Fatereading Centers. They said it was about time that fate was left on the hands of the people and not forced on them.
She was right, I absolutely agreed with her on that. But this was not the right way to do this.
The day after they took over, we started taking action. The Defence Union started actually doing stuff instead of just having meetings with pizza and muffins.
Chris, Kyle and I went back to the Clonies to the Fatereading Center we walked in all those weeks ago, the place that started it all (we weren't alone, of course, we had some experts and soldiers along with us). We had come to the conclusion that Jasmine was planning to blow it up, along with all the other centers.
We ran inside and gave a hell of a fight with the recruits. And then we lost the experts and I ended up running all around with Kyle Chris, trying to avoid getting caught.
That's when we stumbled upon Kim and Michael, who had gathered up all the Fatereaders and were guarding them.
«I should have known that I have more than enough bad luck to run into you...» Chris muttered when he saw her. She looked up at him, a little surprised, but then frowned. She looked exhausted and as if she had gone through hell, which she probably had. Her eyes had dark circles around them, her hair were a mess and she hadn't even bothered to put on makeup. This was Kim we were talking about!
«You three need to get out of here. We're about to evacuate.» she said firmly.
«Since when do you care?» Chris gritted his teeth.
«You don't understand! You have to get out! We're gonna blow this building up!» she replied. Her voice cracked.
«You're not making it out of here, are you?» I frowned.
«Someone has to detonate the bomb. Jessie doesn't really like us...» Michael looked down.
«What are you talking about?» I asked him. He and Kim exchanged a knowing glance.
«We put up quite a fight in the background... Jessie didn't appreciate it.» Kim muttered. «We didn't really do much... We just made it clear that we didn't like her ways.» her voice sounded sore and tired.
«And she made you kill a person for that.» Michael's face hardened. Kim flinched.
«You did what?» Chris snapped.
«I didn't have a choice! It was Michael or Gemma. Jessie made me choose because Gemma ratted me out when I talked about the big boss behind her back.» Kim defended.
«How do you sleep at night knowing that you've killed someone?» Chris yelled at her.
«I don't!» she yelled back. He seemed to regret asking that.
«Guys, you don't have to blow this up... It's clear that you don't want to hurt anyone.» I reasoned.
«We don't have a choice!» Michael snapped.
«Oh, don't you now?» Kyle spoke for the first time in a while. We had pretty much forgotten he was there.
«Kyle, you don't understand!» Michael yelled at his brother.
«I would, if you bloody explained to me! Why the hell did you join the people that killed your soulmate?» Kyle snapped. I had never seen him that furious before.
«Because they bloody threatened to kill you! I couldn't lose my little brother after Pearl. Jessie made a good point when she said she wouldn't hesitate. Remember what happened to Felicia? Did Jessie hesitate then? Of course she didn't. She was going to kill you, and I wasn't having any of that.» Michael yelled back.
«And I'm assuming you did everything for Jack. They threatened him, didn't they?» Chris asked Kim softly. She stifled a sob and nodded, clutching her elbows answered shrinking even more.
«You have to get out of here. We were here for the Fatereaders, but we I think we have enough time for a change of plan.» Kim sighed. She glanced at Michael and he nodded. «Get the Fatereaders out. We'll take care of the recruits.»
«You're saying this in a tone that makes it seem like you won't be coming with us.» Chris' voice cracked. She looked down.
«Forget it. We're not leaving you behind.» I told them.
«Chris... I just want to say I'm sorry...» Kim addressed her ex. «I've also been meaning to tell you that... You're my soulmate.» she looked straight in his eyes. He grabbed her and kissed her.
«You're my soulmate too.» he held her tight. He didn't want to leave her, I could see that.
«There you are!» one of the soldiers that were on our side yelled from the end of the corridor.
«Get out of here.» Michael said for the thousandth time and opened the door to the room the Fatereaders were locked in. They swarmed out running.
«You don't have much time.» Kim added. The crowd pushed us back. «Just... Please tell my brother I didn't die a traitor...» she begged.
«No, we're not leaving you behind!» Kyle yelled. «You're so selfish, Michael! You've always been! You don't want me to die, but what am I gonna do without my big brother?» Michael was on the verge of tears.
The soldiers grabbed us the other direction.
«No! Don't do this!» I shrieked.
«Let me go! Thats my brother right there, I can't just leave him!» Kyle screamed.
«Please, they'll die!» Chris sobbed. We kicked and put up quite a fight, but we were out soon. Too soon.
They pulled us away from the building, but we kept fighting. Kyle managed to escape and ran towards it again, but then it blew up. He fell on his knees.
A scream that echoed in the area made us all freeze. Kyle had already lost too much. He knew he would live through it.
That's what hurt him the most.
I stepped hard on the soldier's foot (the one's that was holding me back) and ran to Kyle.
We were too far from the explosion to even get a scratch, but it was still huge. There was no chance they had made it. Chris was still frozen, looking at something we couldn't see. Kyle was sobbing on the ground. I rest my palm on his back.
I didn't say anything. Eventually he turned around and sobbed on my shoulder.
A few moments later, Chris ran up to us and joined the hug. We all cried there for a while, but in the end we had to return to the hotel.
Jon's day was much better before we walked in the room all muddy and sobbing.
«What happened?» he asked worriedly. We shook our heads. I headed for the shower, Kyle left for his room and Chris went out on the balcony. No one said a word.
After we had all showered and taken some time to process everything, we explained to Jon what had happened.
It was moments like this when I couldn't read him. His expression went blank and it was as if he felt nothing.
But that usually meant that something hurt a lot.
Jon knew Michael better than I did, because of Pearl. They had spent more time together. I had only seen Michael when he visited my sister and Ben, when I usually hang out with my friends.
I mean, I considered him a friend, but not a good friend. Pearl was a good friend. Ben was a good friend. I had spent a fair amount of time with them, but I never spent as much time with Michael. I regretted that.
«Wait... Guys, I think I know where Jasmine is hiding.» Kyle muttered at some point.
«What?! Where?» Chris asked him.
«Think about it... In Chelsea's autopsy they mentioned ivylore poison. What's a place so full of that flower that no one dares step foot in?» he explained. He paused, waiting for an answer. «Guys! What's a place Jinx would never go to, not only because the flowers are lethal, but because Jinx is also allergic to them!» we gave him confused looks. «Coalstar Cave, you idiots! Coalstar Cave!» he exclaimed in frustration.
«Right! Jasmine was always fascinated by it! And the crystals in there can help her make weapons!» Chris agreed.
«Finally!» Kyle flopped down on a bed.
«So... What do we do with that piece of information?» I asked.
«We camp near the cave. That's where we're gonna fight. Jasmine won't know what hit her.» Jon replied.
«Okay, how about you think about this for a while... I have something to do.» I got up, frowning.
«What is it?» he asked me.
«Well... Kim's last wish was for her brother to know she died a hero and not a traitor. I wanna go tell him that.» I powered my voice.
«You know I can hear you, right? I'm coming with you.» Chris shot up.
I nodded, pecked Jon's cheek and left with Chris to go talk to Jack. He was young, but I hoped he would understand that his sister wasn't the monster everyone thought she was.
A/N: Guess what? You're getting a chapter tomorrow. Whether that's good news or not is up to you.
I don't know if I've mentioned this, but we're closing in to the finale. I actually have a date for you! November 3rd.
Dont worry though! I have been torturing characters for far too long to stop now...
Be prepared for a new series (probably a trilogy) which comes out two weeks after the finale: Crystal Kingdoms. You can find a trailer in my rant book. I'd paste a link, but I'm in my phone, so... 😅
That's all for now. See you tomorrow... 😈
