After I left the kids' room, I never thought that I would die. I mean, it didn't even cross my mind.

But I guess this shouldn't surprise me.

About after an hour after I went to my room, I went in to have a shower.

When I was done, I got out of the water, got dressed and braided my hair, before getting out to see someone I had seen thousands of times before on the news, sitting on my bed.

She smirked upon seeing me.

«It's my first time going solo since I killed Cole, so this should be fun...» Jasmine Jewels got up.

I never would have thought that the excited girl I met at the coffee shop that day, would be the one to kill me.

Then, I guess, many things that I never would have thought happened that day.

I backed away from her.

«What do you want?» I asked, knowing exactly what she wanted. She raised an eyebrow. «You don't want to do this.» I warned her.

«And why is that?» she kept smirking.

«You're forgetting something. I'm a water Elementalist, and I just got out of the shower.» I smirked back.

Water rushed from the bathroom and surrounded the both of us.

«That was an impressive little trick, but water doesn't scare me.»

«It should.» I replied and then everything turned to hell.

The fight kept going and going. Water flooded the room, messing up everything. The bed got slammed against the wall, before falling to the ground. Lamps fell off. I managed to avoid getting water in the electricity sockets just barely.

Jasmine seemed unfazed. She slammed against a wall or too, but other than that she looked perfectly fine.

In the end, I was exhausted. Everything was soaked in water. I stopped before I lost control of my powers and brought down the entire hotel.

Surprisingly, nobody had heard all this noise.

I fell on my knees, panting. Jasmine got up and approached me, taking a dagger off its case.

«Any last words?» she smiled.

«Not quite.» I said and kicked her in the stomach. She went flying across the room.

«You little-» she wiped blood off the side of her lip and got up, looking more aggressive.

And then the fight started.

Growing up with other Elementalists, I learned how to fight and how to control my powers more easily than Elementalists that grew up alone.

The fighting part helped a lot that night. Just not enough.

Unfortunately, Jasmine knew how to fight too and held a dagger, which put me at a disadvantage. I managed to disarm her at some point, but the fight got even fiercer.

She punched me in the stomach, I pulled her down to the floor by her hair, she kicked me behind the knee and I managed to twist her ankle. We kept going on for a long time, until three of her friends showed up.

I guess they were getting worried she was taking too long.

I recognised one of the two girls as Jessie Shane. She had that crazy look that was also all over the news. The other girl had shoulder-long, wavy, brown hair and light brown eyes. She didn't look happy to be there.

The guy reminded me of Kyle. He had shoulder-long hair, like the other girl, but his were straight and red. His eyes were green and he didn't look happy to be there either.

Jasmine stopped fighting when she saw them.

«Come on! I have her, I don't need your help. Besides, you know I like a challenge.» she whined at Jessie. Jessie approached us, while the other two stayed at the door.

«I don't care. I was bored and I wanted to have some fun. Besides, you were taking too long.» she rolled her eyes.

«Why did you drag them along?» Jasmine motioned towards the others with her head.

«They looked bored too.» Jessie smirked. The guy and the girl at the doorframe glanced awkwardly at each other, in a way that said that they were just fine before they got dragged into this mess.

«Why don't you wait downstairs until I finish her? You promised me I'd do it alone this time.» Jasmine suggested.

«Yeah, but I know you can't say no to a little teamwork.» Jessie smiled at her with an evil glint.

«Fine.» Jasmine snorted. «Besides, I do need a little help. She twisted my ankle.» Jessie looked down at Jasmine who was balancing on one foot.

«Jess, do you really have to kill her?» the girl asked from the door.

«Kim, need I remind you the real  reason you two are here?» Jessie answered threateningly. Kim gulped. The name rang a bell.

«Wait a minute... You're Chris' ex!» I exclaimed. They all turned to look at me. I ignored them. «He still thinks about you a lot.» I told her. She looked down. «So that means you're Kyle's brother. I can see the family resemblance. He told me all about you today...» I told the other guy.

«We know all about your little meeting. That's why we're here. We figured that now that you and the "gang" are so close, it would hurt them a bit to find you dead. It would also teach them what happens when they try to recruit allies. This whole fight is a lost cause... Our troops are gonna invade Imyrth and we will take over it now that it's war torn and weak.» Jessie smiled evilly. «Don't you have family there?» she mocked.

«Don't you dare talk about my family yo--» I started feeling weak and queasy. I fell down on my knees again.

«Ivylore poison. I don't assume you have that back home.» Jasmine smirked. «I managed to scratch you a couple times... I guess it took its toll on you.»

«You make me proud.» Jessie smiled and they walked towards the door.

«Pity it had to end this way... I liked you.» Jasmine pouted. I lied down and let the poison take me.

And my world got turned upside down.
