That Tingly Feeling.
It won't be the movie teen titans (flash point), it will be based on Prime Earth, the one with kid flash (Billy) part of the team. But a bit of the movie inspired. Requested by vcghost18
"Are you sure about this?" you ask unsure, fidgeting with the feature on your suit. You glance at the superhero elder, the night just managing to slip in you could see from the cropped view of the alleyway buildings, as you space off once again hearing from high-pitched radio frequencies that morph into conversations. You tune off Nightwing's words as your hearing dilates to all the sounds from five blocks away.
"Y/n," Nightwing waves his hand in front of you and you shake your head trying to snap out of it. The loud conversations fade slowly, gaining your attention to the former Robin's words. "Hey," he puts a hand on your shoulder making you flinch. "Hey, you alright?"
"Yeah," you rub your head and groan. "Happened third time today."
Nightwing forms a small smile, a bit relieved in a sort of way. "You're getting so much better with your powers, I'm proud."
It was true though, ever since you had first met Nightwing and he had taken you under his wing and lived with him. It was supposed to be a recon mission for Spyral, who had started dabbling into superhuman meta genes with kids. Specifically, associating animal genes and enhancing them with humans. It was when Oracle (Barbra) had picked up on unprecedented heat signatures under an abandoned laboratory and had found you as the only living survivor out of the experiments.
From the amount of testing you did with Barbra to see what were your powers and how you could control them. Throughout the testing you did with them Barbara and Nightwing had listed the array of 'vampire-like' powers Nightwing had labelled you had inherited. The first off being able to fly which Grayson had been a bit too excited about, then it was the basic array of enhanced superhuman features such as flexibility and enhanced senses, and being able to reappear and appear in short distances with a small puff of black smoke surrounding you.
"You're going to love it! We're gonna hone your powers and most importantly make friends!" he jubilantly says as you cringe a bit at his statement.
"You sound like a camp leader," you laugh.
"What can I say? It's my charm," he winks under the mask, "Oh one more thing!" he pulls out a mask and hands it to you.
"You're gonna need this," he says proudly and you inspect it. It was Grayson's old mask from when he was Robin except it was black.
"You pray painted it black didn't you," you raise a brow as he nervously laughs and rubs the back of his neck. "Thank you," you genuinely say and put it on, moving your face muscles to adjust to it. "Cool," you state as it runs an ID search of Nightwing. "How do I look?"
"Amazing!" he grins as he dramatically puts a hand over his chest, "I feel like a proud mama bear."
"Nightwing-,"
"Alright I'll stop," he laughs putting his hands up in defence. "Shall we m'lady?" he offers you first into the boom tube disguised a run-down telephone box.
'H/n,' the identifier reads as it transports you to the Titans tower. You gawk in amazement at the sheer size of the 'T' shaped tower gleaming proudly with its windows reflecting the glittering light of the sun that made up the whole exterior of the tower.
"Holy shit!" you exclaim as Nightwing only laughs recalling him of the first time the construction of the Titans tower was first completed.
"I assume you like it so far?" Nightwing jokes.
"It's so much bigger than I imagined!"
"Come, on let's give you a tour," he suggests as you follow him inside the tower. Following him, you gape at perhaps everything you look at, from the tall ceilings and the tinted windows that personally adored as they stretched out granting a full vision of the bay. He gave you a tour of the main two floors, the kitchen and lounge, the empty simulation training room and currently the hallway towards your room.
The room was the third one from the end of the hallway, he had informed you your room was next to a boy known as 'Billy' or Kid Flash who was recently new as well and from across the hall was the current Robin, known as Damian.
"Damian doesn't like too much loud noise for a heads up. But if you hear extensive growling and something breaking that doesn't sound like an animal that's probably not Beast boy," Nightwing joked as you couldn't tell if he was kidding or not. "The team should be here soon, sorry-, by the way. For getting you into costume and all that."
"It's alright, the hype was more awkwardness for me," you reassured.
"Well, I'm sure you'll fit right in somewhere," Nightwing puts a hand on your shoulder, "You can show them your badass fighting skills we've been working on," he winks.
"Last time I just kicked you in the dic-, groin I mean," you stammer at the last bit trying to not burst into laughter.
"Ha ha, very funny," he rolls his eyes as you freeze, you're eyes begin to dilate slightly as you hear muffled conversations coming from the bottom floor. The elder looks at you as he picks up that the teams had come back from their patrol. "Seems like they're here," Nightwing says as you snap out, shaking you're head.
"But seriously man! I was like whoosh! And kapow with-," the boy halts abruptly as the others do too all looking at you with a series of expressions.
Well, this is weird... you thought. You look at the team, the boy who had been dramatically acting out his retelling of the story was green all over, including his hair with a red and white suit as his arm is frozen in a position where he was describing some sort of position of flight. Behind him seemed like the eldest of the bunch, who was hovering with her bright pink hair floating like fire and unearthly.
Next to him was a boy covered in blue armour and had a Hispanic-looking face by the bone structure and hint of his accent from the conversation earlier. On the opposite side was a boy dressed in yellow mimicking similar to Flash's costume as his stature was unsure by the unknown new presence.
"Whose s/he/they?" the girl furthest from the side with a purple hood on inquired.
"Hi," you wave awkwardly as you look at the last of the bunch, who emerges from the back was none other than Robin. It was odd rather, he didn't look like Robin, well the past Robin's at all. He was taller and the design of the suit seemed to have starkly changed with colours only consisting of black and red of the suit. Perhaps you thought you were just too used to Dick's stories and photos of Robin in his green underwear tights.
"Everyone," Nightwing said proudly, "This is h/n, s/he/they are the new member of the team!" he beams.
"Yes! I'm not the new kid anymore!" The boy in the yellow flash-like costume cheers as everyone turns to him as he seems to regret his statement. "I didn't mean it like that!"
"Everyone," the floating female lands on the ground and approaches you with a smile and a generous presence. She was tall you had said to yourself, so much so you craned your neck upwards and seemed slightly taller than Nightwing. Her fatigue and stature were built like a warrior's and her eyes were vividly green but were softened as she gave a warm smile. "I'm Kori, Starfire code-wise. It's a pleasure to meet you. This is Billy whose Kid Flash, Garfield whose Beastboy, Raven whose well Raven, Jamie whose Blue Beetle and Damian the new Robin," she introduces.
"I've been Robin for almost six years now," the boy-, Robin interjects crossing his arms.
"Uh, right. Apologies. Our current Robin," the female corrects.
"So by any chance do you play Halo?" the boy whom you've been into as Garfield walks up to you as you blink perplexed.
"Garfield," Starfire scolded.
"What?! Jaime and Billy suck! I can't get past Mission three!"
"Hey!" Jaime and Billy exclaim.
"Well, I'll let you get acquainted," Starfire chuckles.
---
It had been a day since you first arrived, so far you'd been closely acquainted with the three amigos you dubbed Jaime, Garfield and Billy after you helped Garfield into the game mission he so eagerly wanted to complete. Of course, you were acquainted with Starfire herself, but not enough to hold a comfortable conversation whenever you pleased.
Night had taken over the sky, blanketing it with a clear sky of stars in Jump City. Sighing, you decide to head to the rooftop rubbing your head with a headache. Feeling the night giving you a cold kiss as you sighed in relief with the familiar feeling as you walk towards the top of the Titan's tower, seeing a silhouette figure sitting at the edge. Drawing closer he turns around sensing your presence as you give a soft smile.
"I didn't know you come up here," Damian says nonchalantly as he returns his vision back out to the bay.
"I had a headache, I thought I could use a step outside," you answer as you look out to the bay and its picturesque moonlight hitting the water. "What about you, uh Damian right?"
"Yeah. I enjoy the night, I'm used to patrols back in Gotham so I don't ease well at this hour," he informs.
"Ugh," you rub your temple feeling the ache reappear as you sit down
"Is it your powers?" he interrogates, as your brows in surprise.
He is Batman's son you say to yourself, impressed by how well he caught onto things.
"Yeah," you nod, "You're uh, brother... he and Starfire aren't the quietest," you express as you watch Damian's expression morph into one of disgust.
"I truly apologise," Damian sighs in embarrassment as you chuckle.
"Thanks, I guess?" you chuckle looking out to view. "It's a nice night," you smile at the picturesque view of the bay.
"It is," he agrees.

Your first mission was within the first week of your stay with the Teen titans. It was supposed to be a steakout mission. You were paired with Damian to your surprise instead of staying close to Nightwing, but due to your abilities he decided it would be best if the two of you were paired being that you were the stealthiest to get closer to the target.
But it had somehow, turned south when the alarms went off and the two of you barely retrieved any intel. Back at the tower you had prompted yourself it would be best if you stayed in your room, trying to block out the noise as unintentionally you had tuned into the fight going on between mainly Raven and Damian in the lobby.
'-you compromised the whole mission!' Damian fumed at Raven who had rolled her eyes.
'Dude it's not her fault,' Garfield had interjected.
'Stay out of this Logan,' he scowled at him.
'You have no right to say that to him,' Raven defended making him scoff.
'Tch,' he chuckled mockingly running his hand through his hair. 'That's fresh.'
'I think we should give them some space,' Billy whispered to Jaime and Starfire, 'Let them sort this out.'
'What do you mean?' Jaime asked knowing well by the look on Billy's face there was something else he knew about, he wasn't exactly the best liar.
'Again, best leave now-,' Billy pulled Starfire away from the conversation with Jaime about to join them until-
'I know you and Gar kissed,' Damian glared.
'Damn...' the word rolled out Jaime's tongue.
'I believe Billy was right, we should leave,' Starfire guided Jaime out and following Billy.
'You knew?!' Raven had exclaimed taken back.
'Please, I know a lot of things.'
'Gar, can you please just give us some space,' Raven turned and Gar nodded with a somewhat guilty but confused expression as he nodded and went to his room. When it was just the two of them Raven simply sighed.
'Raven, I know this... relationship I-, I don't even think it was right at the start,' Damian began.
'Damian-,'
'No,' his voice echoed firmly. 'Raven, when I first met you, did we get along? Yes, but I never thought we had-, something more. When you asked me to be in this relationship with you, I was new-, to everything in a way. Maybe I thought I had feelings for you because we got along so well at the start. But let's be real Raven, we aren't what we need, or want in each other. Where similar-, I suppose but not-, the same. Raven, you have feelings for Gar. It's blatant,' Damian said looking at Raven with furrowed eyes. 'Maybe you and Gar got off on the wrong track, but you guys complement each other.'
'I-, I'm sorry Damian,' she looked away. 'Maybe, I was too quick to jump into another relationship-, honestly with Gar yes were so different but he just-, just knows you know? Maybe again, as you said, we were so similar that I thought we could relate more but instead we fell out. You're right, we aren't right for each other,' she looks at him with eyes like stone. 'Thank you-,'
'No,' Damian interjects glaring at her, 'Raven, I know and understand your feelings and intentions. But I despise betrayal, even if we didn't reciprocate feelings to one another you should have been honest. That still hurt Raven, I'm sorry but it's going to take a while till we get along again,' he leaves.
---
You were the last to visit the kitchen, you had a craving for the last (half-full) ice cream tub. The rooftop would be nice you pondered and grabbed two spoons, just in case being the clumsy arse you are dropped it.
Making your way upstairs you hum to the song playing through your AirPod and as you are about to turn you stop, freezing with your hand about to put the scoop of ice cream in your mouth you see none other than Damian sitting near the edge of the balcony.
Maybe I should go eat in my room-, you are about to turn when Damian still looking forward says:
"You can stay here if you want. There's no point."
Blinking in hesitation if you should go and sit next to him or go back to your room, you fill a sudden wave of awkwardness wash over you. You decide to go sit next to him as you do, sitting cross-legged as there is a light 'umph' as you sit down.
"I suppose you heard what happened with me and Raven," he keeps his eyes still out at the view.
"Yeah..." you trail and look at the ice cream you're holding. "Want some?" gesturing by holding out the other spoon. He cocks a brow up in confusion.
"Why would I want some?"
"Uh... cause you just had a breakup," in a 'duh' tone. You look at his expression and his 'what-does-that-have-to-do-with-me' type of look directed to you. "Ice Cream is a comfort food."
"I'm not sad," he bluntly states.
"Really?"
"Well no-, just coming to terms with everything."
"Well, at least you deal with breakups well."
"This is my first," he states.
"Wait what?!" you exclaim making him look perplexed by your action.
This guy... with his fucking... everything. What the fuck is wrong with people.
"What?"
"This is your first breakup. Better yet relationship?" you emphasise.
"Yes."
"Wow," you take it in.
"Well-, it wasn't much of a relationship... it didn't feel like-, well through my observations of 'normal' couples or books that I've read," he says.
"So you didn't feel that tingly feeling in your chest when you first met Raven or at some point?" you inquire.
"Tingly feeling?" he restates slowly like a foreign term he's never heard of. "Do you mean sexual attraction?"
"I mean in scientific terms I guess, but... you know the feeling when you feel either nervous or just want to be with them more?" you explain. "And when you're with them they make you feel at home?"
Damian's face looks like you were speaking another language, his eyes trying to comprehend or decode what you were saying. "I suppose I was comfortable around her, but how you are describing it. What do you mean by..." he tries to find the words for it.
"What I mean is," you continue, "Is that the person you make feels happy-, or not necessarily feel happy but-." You pause trying to find the words you want to say. "There's a difference between liking someone as a person, and like-liking and loving someone."
"Like-liking someone?" he furrows his brows.
"Sort of like sexual attraction, you more than admire their qualities you know. And you want to be around them more. Maybe because they make you feel weak when you think you're inevitable? Or like you feel nervous around them and or a churning sensation in your stomach, or you are simply just attracted to them.
And if you are with them and around them long enough... either from afar or in a relationship they just have something about them that makes you a better person, well they inspire you to become a better person and you love who you are around them. There the person who accept you for who you are and believed in you before anyone else. That's loving a person-, well at least how I see it," you chuckle.
"You must have experienced it yourself no?" he quips.
"Uhh, no. Not having a significant partner love no. I just know all of this bullshit from books and movies-, and people that I know who have found the person," you reply. He turns to look back down and pauses before he says anything else.
"You said I'm not doing this break-up properly, correct?"
"Uh, how to deal with it yeah?" you look at him.
"What does one exactly do?" he inquires in a curious tone.
"Well," you begin, "you either eat ice cream and listen to you the classic angry breakup music or ice cream and watch a cheesy rom-com and yell and criticise everything about it. Hey come on, I got an idea," you grin with an idea. "I heard you love patrols yes?"
"Yes," he nods looking up at you.
"Well get changed, and get spray paint from the equipment room. We're going for a little night run!"
---
Two figures pranced gracefully across the rooftops illuminated by the passing of window lights and the moonlight. The air is cold, yet gentle as they dashed and jumped across the alleyways and streets of Jump City with the two of you laugh and the occasional yelling from you feeling like you were on top of the world.
You had prompted Damian, clothed in his Robin uniform, to do a night patrol and run through the rooftops of the city with (currently) 'Look what you made me do' by Taylor Swift blasting from the first playlist you found when had searched for 'breakup songs.'
For the first time perhaps, Damian had felt free. Adrenaline gushed through him with the wind blowing through his hair and a grin prominent on his face. You too had raced from block to block, with occasional quick events of saving people of getting mugged.
"W-w-wait, wait!" you say as he immediately halts as the two of you stop a giant billboard sign of none other of him, his father and his brothers all looking smart dressed in suits with the slogan: Wayne Enterprises, nothing is more important than family for their new 'innovative' program his father had launched recently. He looked at himself and scowled, he hated that photo. He didn't want to take it but his father had insisted on it. He remembered he had gotten into a big fight with all of them somehow before the photoshoot.
"I despise it," he scowls at it. He looks to you who only smirks and shakes the spray paint bottle and walks towards it. You climb the ladder and draw a giant dick on Dick's face, smaller circles around the eyes and a long oval around the nose. You hear Damian laugh mockingly-, perhaps for the first time ever. You jump down and walk back to him and look at it.
"It's very befitting," he says.
"Oh, thank you, you're too kind. It's called 'dick'." You widen your arms gesturing to the picture. You hand the spray paint bottle to Damian and gesture your head to the billboard for him to try. "I heard you're an artist. Show me what you've got."
Damian goes to Jason and sprays a bird (a robin) shitting on top of Jason's head, specifically right on top of his white streak. But he sprays the bird so accurately with the detail so beautifully that it had made it even more hilarious. He hears you laugh uncontrollably as you throw a small white neon spray can and show your set of spray cans of the first and second primary colours and a black one too.
The two of you get to work as the next song plays. After two hours you guys step back and look at the wide picture of it. You had drawn the other baselines for the rest whilst Damian cleaned it up and put detail into it, creating neon street designs. You had also added a big side note near Dick with the message: 'Nightwing's arse is saggy' knowing well that Dick would freak out and go to the nearest mirror and check it as if there was a growing virus on him.
Damian had also made Jason wear a t-shirt instead of saying 'I love my dad' and put a monobrow on him. For Tim, Damian had gone full out for him, putting in a lot of small inside jokes that he seemed to grin at every time he finished one. And for Bruce, you had given Damian the idea for his father to wear a superman shirt saying 'I LOVE SUPERMAN' and with a speech bubble saying 'I'm a huge superman fan.'
Damian looks at you as continues to admire your recent masterpiece the two of you as for once a small genuine smile creep up his lips, noticing the features about you he's never really noticed. Like how your eyes sometimes would sparkle when you were in complete wonder, or the small dimples and your cheeks when you smile.
And soon enough, he feels a weird tingly feeling stirring in the bit of his stomach.
WOAHHH, HOLY SHIT I FINALLY UPDATED!
Uhh, I had way too many ideas going into this so I'm going to do a part 2 somewhere in the future! Also, don't forget there are prompts in the first chapter if you want to recommend an idea for me to write!
