You entered the common room. It was already late kinda late. The past few days you had been going through Hogwarts with them, getting to know them better. Unsure of what to believe about Draco you didnt know what to do anymore.

They were talking about Umbridge. Her classes were a mess. You didn't even learn anything. You wanted to ask them about it today. It was time you did.

'Hi guys.' You smiled.

'Hey.' They just said before they continued.

They seemed very busy. It was difficult following the conversation after you came in that late.

You werent sure whether on not you could interrupt them. Maybe this was the wrong timing.. although you had been telling that to yourself for awhile now.

'Guys I-'

'Not now Y/N.' Harry said.

You were a little startled by that reply. They didnt want to make time for you for like 5 minutes?

'Guys, please it'll only be 5-'

'Not now. We're busy.' Harry said.

You sighed. This was unbelievable.. or were you really being rude? You decided to go back outside. It was past curfew and you knew that but you didn't feel like going upstairs yet.

It was quiet in the halls. Everyone was scared of Umbridge and her punishments. You felt trapped at your school with all those rules. You heard it wasnt like this before.

You decided to get some fresh air outside. The wind was blowing. It was cold outside but nothing that was too bad. You headed through the courtyards towards the lake.

You stopped as soon as you noticed someone else sitting there. It was Draco. You hadn't spoken to him in awhile. Maybe he could give you answers.

You slowly approached him until you were standing right behind him. You hoped he wasnt mad at you.

'Hey Draco.'

He looked over his shoulder. He was surprised to see you there. He didnt really know if he wanted to talk to you. He turned back to where he was staring at.

'Why are you here?' He asked.

He finally started to accept that it wasnt going to be a friendship for him.

'It's past curfew.' Draco continued.

'I know.' You said. 'Listen Draco.. I know I havent spoken to you since.. that breakfast but I've just been so confused and I-'

'You dont have to be sorry. If you want to believe them you can. Everyone does. This isnt the first time they tell people these things about me.'

You felt bad now. For believing them.. but there must be a reason why they said that. Right?

'Can I please sit?' You asked.

Draco sighed and moved his robes aside. You sat down besides him. Draco hated himself right now. Why did he have such a weakness for you.

'Why do they say stuff like that?' You asked.

Draco stared at the ground. He didnt want to tell you. He didnt trust you enough. He couldn't just say nothing though.

'Draco?'

'Because my entire family has always been a Slytherin. They think I'm not worthy of a Gryffindor.'

That's what he made of it. There was so much more behind it but you didn't know that of course. House discrimination? You thought that wasnt really going on at Hogwarts.

'Are you serious?' You asked.

Draco just nodded. He stared ahead of him. You felt really bad now.

'Do they bully you?' You asked.

'I dont know if you can really call it that. No one really likes me at Hogwarts because of it. I tried to make friends but they're all the same. No one.. literally no one at this school has ever given me a chance and if they did it was only to humiliate me in the end. They never had a good intention.'

Draco couldn't believe he was venting this to you. It actually only made you feel worse. You felt very bad for him and for not speaking to him.

'Well everyone except you.. but then other will ruin it. Which I already expected by the way.' He said while looking at you.

You looked at him for a moment. The moonlight made his hair and eyes look really pretty.

'Listen Draco.. I'm really sorry. I really am.' You said. 'You know it's just.. hard here. I hardly know anyone, I get thrown is this drama and I had no clue what was going on. I'm really sorry. I hope you can forgive me.'

No one had ever apologised to him before. He had no idea how to respond to this.

'I.. I can. Dont worry about it.'

You hugged him. You didnt know why you just did. You let him go again. Draco turned his head. He stared right past you.

'Umbridge. Go, please.'

'You too then! You know what happens-'

'Just go, I'll cover for you. They already saw someone. I'll distract them, just go.'

'Will I see you tomorrow?' You asked.

You looked at you and nodded. He pushed you up and got up himself. You quickly ran off.

'If it isnt mister Malfoy.' You heard in the distance.

You couldnt believe he just did that for you. He was in so much trouble right now. That was definitely in a lot of trouble right now. Why did he do this for you?

You decided to run inside, back to the common room. You couldn't believe you got away from this. You can't believe all of this happened.

You made your way to your room. You shared it with others, including Hermione.

'Where did you go? It's past curfew!'

'Non of your business.' You scoffed while grabbed your pyjamas.

'Are you mad because we didnt listen to you? I know we didn't but it was important and-'

'I got the answers I needed.' You said while getting dressed.

Hermione was confused by your sudden change in attitude. You felt disgusted by their behaviour. You turned off the light and got into bed.

You stared at the ceiling. Draco had detention probably tomorrow.. would he want to see you tomorrow? You could test that at breakfast. You had to thank him for covering for you..
