I wake up to the sun rays hitting my face. I groan and look at the time. 8:00 am, it reads.
It's too early to be up. I cover my head with my pillow. I tried going back to sleep, but then the events from yesterday rush into my mind all at once, making me stay awake.
I freshen myself up a bit, before stepping outside. I was ready to wake Yugyeom up and demanding him to tell me everything. One problem, he isn't anywhere to be found.
Of course, he gets away before he can tell me. I just shake my head, and head to the kitchen to get breakfast. I cook up something, eat it, then begin my waking up routine. Showering, washing my face, brushing my teeth, putting on a new and comfortable set of clothes, etc. After that, I head over to my computer to start on my work.
An hour or two later, I hear one of my windows open. I look up and grab the nearest hard object near me. It happens to be a couch pillow. The unknown intruder thumps to the floor, and I tiptoe in their direction. Turning the corner, I attack them.
"AHHH!" I scream as it hit them.
"BAMBAM CHILL IT'S ME, YUGYEOM!" He holds his hands up and grabs the pillow away from me.
"What the hell happened today?! You disappeared without any trace! Explain yourself." I stood there angry. I crossed my arms, waiting for his answer.
"I don't have to explain myself to y-"
"Bullshit!" He looked at me wide-eyed as I said that. "I have the right to know since you dragged me into this. I can't even go outside safely because of you!" I was beyond pissed.
"This is because you had to drag me out with you to hang out!" He still tries to put the blame on me.
"Oh really? So it's my fault that I didn't know that you had everyone coming to get you because YOU wouldn't even tell me?" He stayed silent. "We could have all avoided this if you just open your mouth and spill on what's go-"
"I don't trust you enough to tell you, Bambam!" He yells. I reel back in shock, hurt.
He doesn't trust me, after how nice I've been?
I understand a bit since he thinks I'm a stranger and all, but what about the time he said he trusted me? Was that all a lie? Heck, even I trust him, after all he's put me through! I've always stayed true to my word, and he still can't trust me?
He notices my hurt expression and sighs while pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Look, just- um. I'll just- uh." He tried to speak. "How about I just take care of this situation? Tell you how to get through it and stuff like that?" I could tell he was trying to make it up to me. I roll my eyes.
"Fine." I say with a grudge.
"Ok..." He stopped talking for a moment to gather his thoughts. He walks towards the couch and sits down. Patting the spot next to him, he suggested that I sit down. I was a bit taken back at this. He was acting nice, for once. It's suited him well. It made him look very...
Cute- Uh, Never mind.
I take the offer and sit. He rubs his thighs.
"What I know is that we can't use the front door." Obviously. "But, we can sneak out of the windows to get what we need. You can also get your friends to help provide things for us-" I raise my eyebrows. "If you want, of course! That's just because, I think we are gonna be in here for a while."
"Why?" I say it more as a statement than a question.
"Because they finally have me cornered, and they are gonna take advantage of that." He sighed.
We stayed there in silence, sitting next to each other. It was so silent that you could hear all the appliances in the room clearly. At first, it was awkward. But then, it turned into a comfortable one soon after. I was amazed on how quick we've become comfortable with each other's presence.
"So, what now?" I break the silence, but all Yugyeom does is a shrug.
"How about we get to know each other better?" He tenses at my proposal. "That way you can learn to trust me, and it also makes things less awkward."
"Uh, I'm not so sure I want t-" He cautiously began.
"Oh come on, how about 21 questions?" I turn towards him to the couch, my playful side coming out again. Sitting criss-cross, I pull his arm to suggest for him to turn towards me. He seems cautious as if he was hiding something he didn't want to tell me. I didn't mind, of course, we are practically strangers after all. I plan to change that, one day.
"Ok, I'll go first. Ask me a question." I start when he finally turns my way.
"Um..." He takes a while to ask. "What's your favorite color?"
"Wow, couldn't think of anything else?" I laughed at him. He threw a pillow at me and told me to shut up.
"Hm, I guess I'll go with yellow." I give in.
"Yellow? Really?" He looks at me weird.
"Yeah. Believe it or not, I find it nice."
"I find it annoying." Yugyeom responded back. I decided to ignore his opinion.
"Ok, now it's my turn to ask a question." I continued eagerly. Yugyeom looks down wide eyed.
"Don't worry I'll start off easy." He eases up, just a bit. "What was your first impression of me?"
"Oh." He was teamed back at my question. "I thought you were a creepy pervert."
"Hey!-" He cuts me off before I could defend myself.
"Like who in their right mind picks up a stranger from the street, and doesn't do anything to them other than help them?"
"Good people do! Now be thankful that I helped you, instead of letting you die off." I point a finger at him jokingly. He mumbles something under his breath that I couldn't catch. "What did you say?"
He shoots his head up. "Hm? Nothing." I decided to brush it off.
We continued on with the game. The questions were fairly easy. Yugyeom seems like he doesn't want to be a part of it, though. He either tenses up all the time, looks away and/or looks down, twiddling his thumbs, and just about anything to distract him away from it.
"Ok, last question." I pause for dramatic effect. "Ask away."
"Why do you trust me enough to hang out with me?" He concluded his final question. He said it quickly with confidence. It seemed like this was a reoccurring thought of his. It caught me off guard.
"Um... well," I had a hard time answering. "I honestly don't even know myself. I just have a feeling..."
"What feeling?" He pushed on. This time, it was my turn to tense up.
"Haha, um, I don't k- wait! That's another question! You only had one left. It's my turn." I laughed it off, saving myself from answering that. He sighed quietly, a bit upset from me dodging it.
"My question to you, Yugyeom, is..." Instead of distracting himself, he was actually looking at me. More like staring, anticipating for what I was going to say next. I thought that this was a good time to bring up the question I actually want to be answered.
"What is it you are actually hiding from me, that has to do with those boys?"
