Chapter Thirty-Three: Next

After Dean and Bobby collected themselves as they spoke in the kitchen, hoping to talk in private about having me here. It ended up with them having a brief argument about my stay, but that was between them. Dean was currently, sitting to the left of me, hands interlocked as he was leaning forward. Bobby was at his desk, leaning onto it, as he stared out.

"I'm gonna ask one more time," Bobby announces, catching Dean's attention. "Are we absolutely sure we're doing the right thing?" Bobby wasn't sure locking Sam away, and starving him of demon blood was a good idea.

"Bobby, you saw what was happening to him down there," Dean responded while standing up from the couch, his eyes never disconnected from Bobby. "The demon blood is killing him," his voice raised ever so slightly, disgusted at the thought.

"No, it isn't. We are," Bobby spoke with a clear expression.

"What?" Dean sounded shocked with his reply.

"I'm sorry," Bobby shook his head and stood up straight. "I can't bite my tongue any longer. We're killing him. Keeping him locked up down there. This 'cold turkey' thing isn't working," Bobby wasn't going to sugar coat this any longer, the truth needed to be heard. "If-If he doesn't get what he needs soon... Sam's not gonna last much longer," Bobby was wanting to give Sam his fix, so he would have the chance to live. The air in the room became silent, and from where I sat, I could see Dean thinking true and hard - but he was his older brother, he didn't want to see Sam go down that path.

"No," he finally spoke, shaking his head gently. "I'm not giving him Demon Blood. I won't do it," Dean couldn't provide that for Sam, he couldn't.

"And if he dies?" Bobby asked.

"Then at least he dies human!" Dean shouts, clearly tearing up and upset by it all. "I would die for him in a second. But I won't let him do this to himself. I can't," it was like watching reality TV right now, there was so much emotion. "I guess I found my line... I won't let my brother turn into a monster," Dean was so confident in his brother's safety, that it was kind of touching.

"Dean," my tone was soft as I spoke his name, it was different from all the other times I had said it. "The things he's done. He thinks that they are right," I stood from the couch and approached him as he turned to face me. "But it doesn't mean they are. Take it from someone who knows that all too well," my gaze was soft upon him, and he knew it. He scoffs at my comment, giving me a certain look that could kill.

"You're a demon," he spat at me. "Half or not, you're still a monster," Dean's jaw clenched together as the words fell from his lips.

"And why do you think that?!" I raised my voice, unfolding my arms. I've had enough of his back chat. "I've done things I'm not proud of, I admit that and I live with it everyday. But humanity has screwed me over so many times, that I've lost count," I was visibly angry and he could tell, both could. "We're all damaged in a way. Some more than others," I snapped at him, but I barged forward, hitting his shoulder along the way. But I stopped at the threshold that met with the hallway. I cocked my head over my shoulder to give a glance to Dean.

"You don't have to like me, but trusting me a little, can go a long way," I didn't allow the dean a chance to reply, and I don't think he would have. "I'll take a bedroom," I also didn't look back, as I found my way up the stairs, and into the nearest bedroom. I opened the door, and went in, before slamming it shut behind me. That man made my blood boil, and it wasn't in a good way.

The bedroom was fitting to the style of the house. It also looked like it hadn't seen a duster in decades. I was too furious to be bothered by it in the slightest. I wanted to burn some shit, but my powers were still wonky. I know they don't want me here, they also won't come to me for any advice. Cas wanted me here for a reason. Or did he simply wanted me out of action, and being watched as a hawk by Dean? Only time will tell...

..................................

I fell asleep on top of the bed, finding my clothes warm enough. However, a lurking feeling in the pit of my stomach woke me. My eyes fluttered open, and I could see out of the single window in the room that it was now night. I wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep, and with all the thoughts coming back to me, I don't think I could.

I swung my legs around and came off the bed, the door to the room was open ajar, as if someone had peered in to check on me. I shook the thought free, and walked to the door, opening it full and leaving. I silently crept down the hallway and to the staircase, taking each step with care. The air was still, and the only thing I could hear was the breathing of a single person. I noticed that the front door was ajar, but as I walked past the living room, Dean was laid on the couch. Soundlessly, asleep. However, Bobby was nowhere to be seen; which concerned me slightly. I just was getting this horrible feeling in my gut, that I couldn't ignore.

I hurriedly, went out of the front door, and went to find Bobby. The cold air clung to my clothes, passing through the fabric like it was nothing. Within a minute, I found Bobby - holding his shotgun, the barrel connected to Sam's chest, where his heart is. I could see that he was testing Bobby, Sam knew he wouldn't shoot him. I crept closer, Sam spoke some words but I didn't catch them. Suddenly, Sam grips the gun and pulls it free from Bobby's grasp, and whacks him with the butt of the gun. It happened so fast, that Bobby had no chance to defend himself. He went down like a stone dropping with gravity. Sam looked distraught, having to do that to Bobby. He threw the shotgun to the ground, and began to turn. I had to try and speak to him. In a blink of an eye, I appeared right behind him.

"Don't move Sam," I announce, making him quickly spin on his heels to face me. His eyes were dull, and sunken in. His complexion was pale and looked like he was ill.

"What are you doing here?" Sam asked, he was looking kind of shifty. Like an addict waiting for their next hit. "Did you break me out?!" He asked wide eyed.

"No, Sam," I was genuine with my reply, and he believed me to be. "If you leave, Dean will never forgive you. There's always another way-"

"Not for this!" He raised his voice at me, taking a few steps closer. "This needs to happen, so I can take down Lilith for good," Sam spat at me, he was strong in his decision.

"I never had someone tell me what was right and wrong. I had to figure it out by myself," I began to explain. "But you have Dean, Sam. A brother who would do anything for you. Even die for you," I couldn't help but step closer to Sam, our eyes locked.

"I don't believe a word from your mouth," Sam responded. "You have your own agenda, and I don't trust you," Sam was yet again strongly headed about it.

"Go... Do what you think needs to be done," I spoke gently, as I wasn't angry with him. "I'm not going to stop you," I turned around and crouched down beside Bobby looking him over as he was out cold. Sam didn't even hesitate and got into the car he was stealing. Within seconds he got it going, and drove off. Away from his brother, the one who could have protected him in a way.

My eyes danced along Bobby's unconscious figure, he was still breathing at least. My mind wandered to Sam, he was doing this for a reason. To stop Lilith and protect his brother. To stop the end of the world, save billions of lives. But in the process he was giving up his. Also, now Dean will blame me for busting him out. That who Dean was, blame the first demon in sight. I stood back to my feet, and held out my hand, palm facing upwards. I focused on conjuring fire, and with the thought, my palm was engulfed with a fireball. I closed my hand into a fist, putting out the fireball with one single motion. I wasn't going to be hung in a sense by Dean for something I didn't do. Finding Sam was going to be my way of helping, but I'll do that by myself. Like I've done everything else...
