Chapter Sixty: Reverse Swap
Dean concocted a plan, if the imposter Sam decided to come back we'll be ready. I laid in the motel bed, pretending to be Dean, as it was always him they would be after. Dean was hiding in the darkness, ready to pounce when 'Sam' came back.
I could hear the door to the motel creak open, and footsteps entered through the room. Dean also placed a perfect weapon in sight, if it was the case they were here to kill him. I hear Sam pick up the gun, and then cock it. Then silence. For like a moment, before the next thing I hear is Dean's fist connected with Sam's face, making him groan in pain.
"You're not Sam," I threw the covers back, and stood to my feet. "Who the hell are you?!" Dean's teeth grit together, as he was controlling himself. He didn't want to hurt his brother. The grip Dean had on Sam's jacket was strong, and tight.
"Ow," clearly that hurt for him. I flourished my hand up, and the lights in the room came to life, lightening it up for us all to see.
"The gigs up kid," I swayed my way around, as Dean kept a tight grip on him. "Now, tell us who you are. Or I'll rip it from your skull," a smirk danced across my lips, as I blinked, my black eyes replaced my soft brown hums. He jumps out of his skin slightly, and holds back a scream.
"I don't want to die, I don't want to die," he rushes out, like he was going to break out into a crying fit. I blinked, my eyes returning back to normal. "Please, don't kill me!" He begged, and now this was clearly not Sam. I swirled my hand around, and a chair from nearby shot out, and slid across the room, coming behind the imposter.
"Tie him up," Dean announces, pushing Sam onto the chair, and he accepts his fate. With a single click of my thumb and index finger, rope appeared out of the black smoke, wrapping around his waist and his hands were forced behind the chair, and also tied. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Dean on the phone, probably checking his voicemails.
I crossed my arms over my chest, as they rested on my leather jacket. I stared at Sam, but he looked away, anywhere but my eyes. Dean finished hearing the messages on the phone. He placed it back on the receiver, and came on over.
"All right, pal. Either you start talking or we start waterboarding," Dean came back to stand in front of the imposter, and he was to my right.
"Oh, my God. Please, don't hurt me. Please! I'm sorry! I'm so, so sorry!" Sam had tears running down his cheeks, and pleaded so much. I thought he was going to wet himself.
"Ok. Hey, pull it together, champ," Dean leans over, and slams his hand upon his shoulder.
"I don't want to die. I don't want to die," he repeated the words a few moments ago, really wanting to live.
"You won't, if you tell us where Sam is," I narrowed my eyes, he briefly locked his gaze with me.
"In my – my friend's basement. His parents are out of town," he announces.
"Parents?" Dean questioned, knowing that was never a good start. But Sam just nods his head quickly, no reason for him to lie. "How old are you?" Dean asked.
"Seventeen,"
"Seventeen?" Dean repeated the word.
"They start young," I remarked, but Dean dismissed my comment. Next thing I knew, Dean was flung away from Sam. "Dean!" I state in surprise, my head following him as he smashes - with force, into a glass mirror, slamming down onto the draws and onto the ground. I spun back around to see a petite figure staring at me. I opened my mouth to speak, but I too was flung from my position. I was flung against the wall, bashing my head, but I didn't fall, I was pinned. Arms and legs stretched out to as far as they could go - I looked like a starfish.
"Nora?" Sam states, must have known her, but she was currently possessed. I opened my mouth to form words, but nothing came out. Then again, not a peep. She smirks as we locked eyes. Great.
"Not at the moment," she states, blinking to show off her black eyes. "Abigael," she leans back up, locking our gazes once again. "You look good like that," she mocks, making me roll my eyes at her. But she returned her attention back to Sam. Going around the back of the chair, and began to untie him. I struggled against the wall, but I could barely move an inch
"Boy, you earned your dessert tonight, kiddo. Tell me – what is it you want? Anything," The demon - Nora asked, leaning ever so closer.
"Anything?" Sam asked, his eyes following Nora as she came around to the front. As he lifted the rope over him.
"Lay it on me," she states.
"I want to be a witch," Sam states, rising to his feet. "For real. And really powerful," he seemed proud with the last part, as if power was all he wanted.
"Mm. Good choice. I get it. No daddy, no M.I.T. No plan. You get to be big and strong, and no one can tell you what to do anymore," Nora had turned and walked away from Sam, coming inches away from unconscious Dean. Nora paused for a moment, before spinning around. "There's just one small formality first," she paused again, as Sam looked confused. "You got to meet the boss," Nora states, stepping back over to Sam.
"The boss?" The kid hadn't got a clue what he had gotten himself into.
"You know – your satanic majesty, or whatever the kids are calling it these days," she spoke it all in one breath, but I see the cogs turning in the kids head.
"The devil?" He finally states. Nora nodded her head. "Uh... No. Ok. Um... It's ok, I... Don't really want to bother him," the kid tried to brush off the meeting with Satan himself.
"Oh, but he's gonna want to meet you," I tried to struggle again but still couldn't barely move. "Relax. It'll be easy. He's just gonna ask you one little question, and all you got to do is say 'yes'. And then... You get your reward," it was their new trick, Sam's body was a perfect vessel for the taking if the person occupying it doesn't know what is happening. I managed to make a groan, but not words formed, and I found the strength to bang against the wall. Nora's eyes locked to me, and she narrowed them, and suddenly, my breathing stopped. A force was squeezing my throat and I parted my mouth hoping to inhale.
Out of nowhere, Dean rushes forward with a knife, ready to strike Nora down, but she hears it coming. Blocked the attack, turning him around and throwing him back to the floor. The knife fell from his grasp, and the force over my throat lifted as I inhaled deeply. Nora began to kick Dean repeatedly. Kick after kick, and I was powerless to watch. But something in me bubbled up in rage, watching him get beaten up. With all of my strength, I forced myself off the wall, each kick only fueling me.
Suddenly, I was freed from the wall, and dropped down onto the couch, but due to gravity, I rolled off and onto the floor. I struggled to stand up, my whole body feeling like jello. Freeing myself weakened me, due to the fact that it took a lot of my energy. Nora heard my freedom, she snapped her head over, ready to stalk over to me.
"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus," Sam began, doing an exorcist to get rid of the demon within Nora.
"What was that?!" Nora barked at him, fury flooding her features.
"Uh, nothing," he was trying to play cool, as Nora strided forward.
"Were you trying to exorcise me?!" She kicks the chair out of the way, now filled with rage. "You little piece of crap?!" She yells, thrusting her hand to his neck, raising him to his feet.
"Spiritus, omnis satanica potestas," Dean's voice rage free, as I see him now back to his feet. He was leaning forward, his right shoulder raised behind him, because he was in pain. Nora let go of Sam, and walked towards Dean.
"Omnis incursio infernalis adversii,"
"Omnis congregatio,"
"Et secta diabolica,"
"Ergo, draco maledicte," it was a battle between verses, both taking turns to expel the demon. Nora was just in the middle, cocking her head back and forth, feeling the exorcism working.
"Ecclesiam tuam securi tibi facias liberate servire," I managed to use the couch to pull myself up, and to my feet, still feeling a bit unstable, but I found my balance.
"Te rogamus... Adios, bitch!"
"Uh, it's 'Audi Nos'," the kid clarified, but Nora snapped open her mouth like she was a snake, and black smoke poured out. She fell to her knees, and the demon within her expelled and left the motel room. She fell to the ground, as there was no sight of the demon.
"Took a lot out of me," I spoke, stepping forward, eyes cocking between Sam and Dean, but landed on Dean.
"Get Sam, and I'll reverse the spell, because I'm a capable witch," my eyes traveled from Dean over to Sam, giving him a pointed look. "I'll look after Nora," I added, because whatever her part in this, being possessed by a demon sucked.
Dean and Sam left, as he was the guide to his friend's house. I managed to place Nora on a bed, and she woke up in no time. Having the faintest idea what happened to her. Nora and I got to talking, and she explained what happened. That Demons sent out a bounty on Dean's head to every witch and demon in the country. Gary - who's in Sam's body - saw us, and thought up the idea. But didn't go through in killing Dean. What fortunate events...
About an hour or so passed, and Dean, Sam and this kid walked into the room. It was the kid from the vision. They piled into the room with the ritual ingredients, and the book he used for the body swap.
"You have the book?" I announced, my eyes cocking between them. The kid aka real Sam held up the book, coming on over and handing me it. I took it off of him, and flipped it open, flicking through the many pages of spells. Until I found the one he used to body swap with Sam. I read over the incantation, and the ritual instructions. "Ok, I can't perform this," I announce, my eyes flicking up from the book.
"Why not?" Dean asked, raising an eyebrow to my comment.
"Only the original caster can reverse the spell," my eyes went to Sam aka the kid. "Guess you're going to be a witch after all... Again," I imagined he performed it the first time around. I slammed the book shut, it echoed out in the room. "I'll set up the ritual, but he'll need to perform it," I tossed the book to Sam and he caught it with ease. I got busy setting up the ritual. Placed four candles, drew symbols, the ingredients, the circular brown bowel. Thank God they had the brain cell between them to fetch it.
Everything was set, done by yours truly. Gray - that I know learnt his name, was sat opposite from his own body, and Sam was from his.
"Animae domum redeant. Fas atque nefas instaureture," Gray began to incantation. "Potestate et auctoritate, sic fiat," Gary sprinkled something around the bowel, and when he had no more. A blinding light pierced the room, as the spell was complete. The light died, and nothing physically had changed. Dean and my eyes went to Sam, to see him flexing his hand, checking to make sure he was himself. Sam scrambled to his feet, and to a nearby mirror to make sure.
"So, we good?" Dean announces, hoping his brother was back in one piece.
"Yeah. We're good," Sam replied. "Oh, man, it's nice to be back," he turns on the spot to face us.
"Yeah. Awesome," Gary didn't sound all too pleased with it. Gary got to his feet.
"So," Dean cleared his throat, while taking a few steps forward to Gary. "Gary," Gary knew where this was heading.
"Yeah. I know – my bad," he thought this was all a joke, and that he didn't hurt anybody.
"My bad?" Dean curled up his hands into fists, containing his anger, as Gary was just a kid. "Kid, 'my bad' ain't gonna cut it. See, if you were of voting age... You'd be dead. Because we would kill you," Dean flicked his index finger between him and Sam. "So either you straight up and fly right or we will kill you... Are we clear?" Dean asked.
"Crystal,"
"Good," Dean spoke quickly after Gary, I could see the fear in his face. Classic.
"You sure I can't curse him? There's some in the book that sound tempting," I state, holding my hand out as black smoke swirled around my hand, and soon disappeared to show the book Gary used for the body swap. I could see Gary gulp, more fear lacing his expression.
"No," Dean states in his rugged deep voice.
"Fine... But I'm keeping the book," I dropped my hand and the book was engulfed in black smoke. "Nora, a pleasure," I turned on my heels to face Nora, and offered a bow of my head. She nods and smiles at me, before I spin back around. "Gary," I stepped forward, but he seemed frightened of me. I placed my hand on his left shoulder, staring deep into his eyes. "Being a witch might sound amazing and fun, because at times it is. But to me, it's my heritage. It's my connection to my Mother," my voice was soft, and caring almost. "It's dangerous in the untrained hands of kids, and can hurt the ones you love. So, please, don't mess with it. For your safety, and that of your friends and family. 'Kay," A smile tugged at the corner of my lips, and he simply nodded his head, agreeing to it. I patted his shoulder once. ""And yes, I do know I'm beautiful," I offered a wink, allowing my hand to fall back to my side. He smirks at my comment, before wandering off to Nora to talk to her, before they headed out. As Dean, Sam, and I moved out of earshot of them.
"So, what now?" Sam asks, meaning what will I be doing next.
"Depends on Dean's answer," my eyes turned to lock eyes with him.
"Look, Abigael," I knew where this conversation was heading. I bit my tongue and allowed him to get through it. "What you did today was good, and helpful. But-"
"But, I still can't trust you," I cut Dean off, and finished off his sentence for him. He looked guilty, and at the same time relieved that I said the words. "Then if you need me for anything, a case you're stuck on. Or need a powerful Hybrid. Give me a call," I pressed my lips thinly together, as I smiled. "Glad to have you back Sam," my eyes roamed over to Sam.
I didn't let him speak, as within a blink of an eye I vanished from their view. Not wanting to have a big dramatic exit with my smoke. In my heart, I knew they were going to call...
