Chapter Sixteen: Disobeyed

I had to shower to clean myself properly, the filth and the blood that lingered, needed to be washed away to be a good hot soak. Of course, I used a five star hotel shower, Bobby's shower would not be hot, nor clean. I also got a new pair of clothing, the ones I wore were bloody and ripped in places due to the shards of glass.

I walked through the front door of Bobby's, finding the place rather quiet, but I could hear shuffling from down in the basement. I walked freely through the hallway, and towards the basement. I climbed down the steps, and turned to the right, seeing Anna, Ruby and Sam all waiting for something, but their eyes landed on me. I pushed forward towards the iron door that led inside the panic room.

"Where did you go?!" Sam asks with his eyes staring into mine.

"Again I didn't know that we were attached by the hip," I remarked, waving my hands slightly in the air, as if I had committed a crime. But his expression was demanding, and trust needed to be established. I groan softly, knowing I wasn't going to get out of this. "I wanted a shower and some clean clothes. As you can see, and probably smell," I wandered my eyes down to my choice of outfit, allowing my hands to flush in a sweeping motion to indicate this to him. My head reached back up just in time to see Ruby inhale through the nose, though it was sly and brief, she could smell the sweet aroma coming from me.

However, I could hear footsteps creeping from above and dust falling from the cracks. Within no time, the footsteps descended down the basement steps.

"We're here!" Dean yells from the steps as he and this woman descended them. I missed out on what their plan was, but I'll figure it out.

"Pamela. Hey," Sam walks towards the stairs and greets the women.

"Sam?" Pamela asks, making Sam reach out and touch her right shoulder with his left hand, indicating he was in front of her.

"Yeah it's me. It's Sam,"

"Sam? Sam, is that you?"

"I'm right here," Sam was being delicate with her, meaning one thing she was blind. She lets out a 'oh' sound, it sounds a relief to hear his voice as she trailed her hand up to his face.

"Know how I can tell?" She states to him, but out of now where she slaps his arse firmly, making him stiffen up straight and grunt slightly at her action. "That perky little ass of yours," she remarks, finding amusement in what she did. "You could bounce a nickel off that thing," she laughs at the end of her comment. "Of course I know it's you, grump. Same way I know that's a demon," her eyes were shielded by sunglasses, but she kept her gaze on Ruby for a moment. "That the sarcastic girl Dean went on about, Martha," he eyes wandered to the left of Ruby.

"He talks about me. He really cares about me," I remarked with sarcastic lacing my tone, making Pamela crack a smile and a chuckle.

"And that poor girl's Anna. And that you've been eyeing my rack," she went on, her eyes landed back on Sam. He pursed his lips in disbelief, as he wouldn't do such a thing. He began to stammer out words, but he wasn't making a full sentence. Pamela laughs, again finding humor in her teasing of Sam. "Don't sweat it, kiddo. I still got more senses than most," she states, turning her body and beginning to walk towards Anna. "Hey, Anna, how are you? I'm Pamela," she extended her hands out towards Anna, who unfolded her arms and held her hands out for them both to connect.

"Hi," Anna replied with a bright smile.

"Dean told me what's been going on. I'm excited to help,"

"Oh. That's nice of you," Anna spoke, finding comfort that a stranger she didn't know wanted to help her cause.

"Eh, well, not really. Any chance I can dick over an angel, I'm taking it," Pamela states, thrilled in doing something that would piss off the angels.

"Why?"

"They stole something from me," she said while she removed her sunglasses, to reveal white eyes. "Demon-y, I know. But they're just plastic. Good for business. Makes me look extra-psychic, don't you think?" Even having her eyes burned out, she was making light of her now disability. She laughs with Anna, finding it amusing. "Now," Pam places the glasses back onto herself. "How about you tell me what your deal is?" Pam offers a calming smile to Anna, before coming around and in one swoop placed an arm over her as they began to walk towards the panic room, Anna guiding her as she wrapped her arm around her side.

"Grump?" I swayed my hips forward, my eyes locked onto Sam, as I crossed my arms over my chest. "Seems fitting. Don't worry grump-boo, I won't slap that ass... Not yet," I smiled seductively, cocking my eyebrows up at him while offering a cheeky wink. Sam seemed to squirm under my intense sexual gaze, making me break and laugh at him. "I'm off to grab a beer," I unfolded my arms and allowed them to swing by my side as I walked forward, the boys parting at either side, allowing me to pass them. I had a feeling that Pamela was going to crack this case wide open...

After some time, Pamela had set up Anna on the bed, allowing her to be comfortable. She was going to use hypnosis to see if Anna can recall memories of her past, and with the information could provide us all who she truly is.

"Nice and relaxed," Pamela's voice was soft. "Now, I'm going to count down from five to zero. when we're at zero, you'll be in a deep state of hypnosis," Pamela explained to Anna, and to the group. As Dean sat inside the panic room close by the bed, Sam was perched near the door, as Ruby and I stood outside. I made some lame excuses, but they bought it. "As I count down, just go deeper and deeper, ok... Five... Four... Three... Two... One..." Pam counted down from five, her voice still holding softness. "Deep sleep," she reached over to Anna and made sure her eyelids were closed. "Deep sleep... Every muscle calm and relaxed. Can you hear me?" Pamela asks Anna.

"I can hear you," she replies, and from the advantage point from the door, I could see what was happening.

"Now, Anna, tell me... How can you hear the angels? How did you work that spell?" Pamela asked the two important questions.

"I don't know. I just did," Anna replies truthfully, as in this state she could not lie.

"Your father. What's his name?"

"Rich Milton," Anna confessed to her Father's name, but not her real Father.

"All right. But I want you to look further back, when you were very young, just a couple of years old." Pamela wanted Anna to dive deep into her memories, wanting to unlock the secrets she held within.

"I don't want to," Anna spoke with fear in her tone.

"It'll be ok. Anna, just one look -- that's all we need,"

"No," she turned her head to the side, as if she was fighting with her subconscious.

"What's your Dad's name? Your real Dad," Pamela pushed the question. "Why is he angry at you?" Anna was coming under distress in this state

"No. No!" She yells, her body wiggling on the bed. "No!" she screams as she raises herself up but it looked like she was being possessed by the devil himself. The electricity in the panic room blew, and flicker. "He's gonna kill me!" She screams, but suddenly the door to the panic room was forced shut by an unknown force. I could hear the commotion inside, but I'm sure they were capable of handling this themselves.

"Beer?" I pursed my lips to Ruby, but she just shook her head. Making me walk away from the panic room, and up the stairs, out of the basement and to the kitchen. I swung open the fridge door, and grabbed a cold beer from the fridge shelf, and slammed the top off the counter side, as I used my leg to kick the door closed. The bottle was flung off, and I swung the beer back as the cold liquid slid down my throat. I went into the living room and came to place myself on the red couch, just under the window. Waiting for everyone to gather above, because this was going to be good...

................................

Didn't take long for everyone to come up from the basement and into Bobby's living room. Dean, Sam, and Pamela all took place to the right of me, sitting on the desk and a chair nearby. Ruby on the other hand, was situated at the kitchen threshold, leaning against the wood. Anna was pacing in front of everyone, walking back and forth as she figured out who she was. It was a plot twist of the season. I nearly spat my beer out when Ruby told me.

"Don't be afraid. I'm not like the others," Anna started off, as she walked towards Ruby, her hands in the back of her jeans pocket.

"I don't find that very reassuring," Ruby replies, being near an Angel for her was death itself.

"Neither do I," Pamela added to the back end of Ruby's sentence, finding that Angels were bad for her as she got something taken.

"So... Castiel, Uriel --" Anna began, stepping towards the trio in front. "They're the ones that came for me?" Her eyes seemed to stay on Dean.

"You know them?" Sam questioned, eyeing up Anna, before her gaze flicked over to him.

"We were kind of in the same foxhole,"

"So, what, they're like your bosses or something?" Dean asked, allowing Anna to bring her eyes back to Dean. There's totally some chemistry between them.

"Try the other way around," Anna replied after a moment, smiling at the idea of her being the big boss of the Angels.

"Look at you," Dean was clearly impressed with her being the boss. I smirked to myself, as I raised the beer bottle to my lips and chugged the cool liquid.

"But now they want to kill you?" Pamela was blunt in her comment.

"Orders are orders... I'm sure I have a death sentence on my head," Anna turned away, and allowed her hands to flow from her back pockets, to cross her arms, pacing in front of us all.

"Why?" I piped up, because it did truly intrigue me on why this little angel had a death sentence. But she turned on her heels and looked directly at me, her eyes piercing my soul.

"I disobeyed... Which, for us, is about the worst thing you can do. I fell," Anna wandered her eyes to the trio, and myself.

"Meaning?" Dean didn't understand what it meant for an Angel to 'fall'.

"She fell to Earth. Became Human," Pamela filled in the blanks for Dean, hoping he would connect it all together.

"Wait a minute. I don't understand," Sam states. "So, Angels can just become human?" It wasn't the foreknowledge that is in books or anything, it was unheard of.

"It kind of hurts. Try cutting your kidney out with a butter knife. That kind of hurt," Anna paced in front of us, coming back to the end where Dean was. "I ripped out my grace," she was calm in the saying.

"Come again?" Dean eyebrows were raised, not understanding what she meant by that.

"My grace. It's... Energy. Hacked it out and fell. My mother, Amy, couldn't get pregnant. Always called me her little miracle," Anna was on the move once again, not able to stand still to tell her story, maybe the nerves or some other emotion she was feeling. "She had no idea how right she was,"

"I'll say," I mumbled, while taking back the beer once again.

"So, you just forgot that you were God's little power ranger?" Dean was using pop culture references in his sentence, which made me groan slightly at his choice of words.

"The older I got, the longer I was human, yeah," it was kind of thrilling to see a human-Angel.

"I don't think you all appreciate how completely screwed we are," Ruby finally spoke her mind, as she had moved from one side of the frame to the other.

"Ruby's right. Heaven wants me dead," Anna was so calm when saying those words that it was a normal thing to her.

"And Hell just wants her," Ruby added to the back end of Anna's comment. "A flesh-and-blood angel that you can question, torture, that bleeds. Sister, you're the stanley cup. And sooner or later, Heaven or Hell, they're gonna find 'ya," Ruby was so sure that either one of the fractions was going to find her.

"I know. And that's why I'm gonna get it back," Anna marched from Sam's side back over to Dean.

"What?" Sam was confused on what she meant.

"My grace," she spun her head to meet his gaze.

"You can do that?" Dean added into the mix, making Anna cock her head to him.

"If I can find it,"

"So, what, you're just gonna take some divine bong hit, and, shazam, you're Roma Downey?" Dean was trying his best to hold back a smile that was clearly forming on his lips. Again with the jokey remarks, and the pop culture references.

"Something like that," Anna replied.

"All right. I like this plan. So, where's this grace of yours?" Dean questioned, opting for a quick solution, and that her grace could be found within hours.

"Lost track. I was falling about ten-thousand miles per hour at the time,"

"Wait. You mean falling, like, literally?" Sam quickly spoke up the back end of Anna.

"Guys come on, in this line of work, if an Angel says she's falling at that speed, that is a literal fact," I replied with a 'duh' expression, as everything in the supernatural world was near enough literal.

"Like the way a human eye can see? Like a comet maybe or a meteor?" Sam was onto something major here.

"Why do you ask?" Anna questioned him, but he smiled at the idea that was forming in his head, meaning it was going to probably do with some research.

This whole war between Angels and Demons was something that had been going on for centuries. But it was more intense, there was a massive war coming, and it wasn't going to stop with Anna. It was going to affect us all, and there were going to be lines drawn.

Whose line was I going to stand behind?
