Chapter Fourteen: Truth

The Winchesters and I managed to get back to their motel room, we looked worse for wear. Sam was on one of the beds, using a thread and needle to pierce his skin to sew up his wound. Dean was in the bathroom, his left shoulder was dislocated, and he had various cuts and bruises on him. I, on the other hand, would normally have healed by now, but I was playing 'Mortal'. There was a deep gash on my left cheek bone, from a piece of glass shredding through the skin, though it didn't need stitches, it was bleeding. I also had a few cuts on my legs, as the glass had torn through the fabric of my jeans.

"I think I broke a rib," I clutched my left hand to the right side of my body, wincing every so slight. I slowly shrugged off the leather jacket, and lifted the top from my torso, once again wincing at the action. I managed to sling the top off, and to the ground with my jacket. I was left topless, but the black bra kept me warm. I limped slightly over to the length sink Dean was at, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He saw me incoming, and took a few steps to the right, as he allowed me to see myself in the mirror that hung above the sink. I raised my right arm up, and leaned back slightly, seeing the mixture of purples and black on my skin.

"That looks bad," Dean announces, eyeing up the bruise. I lowered my arm carefully back down, and turned my head to him.

"No shit," I spoke with a clenched jaw, finding his statement pointless as it didn't help me. "It seems I can't stay away from danger when I'm with you two," I cock my head over to Sam for a moment as he continues to work on himself. I moved out of the way for Dean to grab a glass and swirl his mouth out, before splitting it into the sink.

"Are you almost done?" Dean asks, but Sam groans for a moment as he is threading the thread through his skin.

"I'm going as fast as I can," he replies, his voice low as he was focusing on stitching himself up.

"Good, 'cause you know I got a dislocated shoulder over here," Dean walks away from the sink, and into the room.

"Yeah. I'll pop it back when I'm finished," Sam states, but I see Dean grab a bottle of wine from the desk, and swing it back as he begins to down it.

"Let me pop it back in," I was serious in my tone, as I wandered over to Dean, who dropped the bottle from his mouth to stare at me, he was trying his best not to lower his gaze to my boobs.

"Give me that," Sam said before he had a chance too. I turned my body to the side, getting both Winchesters into my view. Sam was waving his hand out, but Dean was trumped for a moment on what he was gesturing too. But he finally got it and took a step forward, his arm extending to give his brother the bottle of wine. Sam poured the red liquid onto his wound, and began to groan, gritting his teeth, as he was trying not to scream like a little bitch.

"So, you lost the magic knife, huh?" Dean made conversation, but he was more worried about the demon killing knife they had required.

"Yeah, saving your ass," Sam retorted. "Who the hell was that Demon?" Sam asks wildly, not knowing who he was. But I saw the glimpse of Dean's expression, and it was the expression of recognition, meaning he knew who the Demon was.

"No one good," Dean spoke after a moment, deciding to lie to his brother. "We gotta find Anna," he went on, wanting to change the subject before it could be led somewhere he didn't want.

"Ruby's got her. I'm sure she's ok," Sam states, knowing that this demon - Ruby was a friend of his.

"So, you're friends with demons? Are you friends with vamps and other creatures too?" I remarked, eyes cocking between the boys, but they remained silent, not wanting to answer the question. "I'll pop it in," my eyes landed on Dean, and I stared at him, not wanting to lift my gaze until he agreed. Reluctantly, he caved in and nodded slightly. I moved to the left hand side of him, as he bends over, I gently placed my hands between his shoulders. "On three," I spoke, warning him to prepare himself for what is to come. "Three," I shot quickly and pushed on his shoulder, in the right direction as I heard it pop back into place, and Dean grunted, it satisfied my pleasure.

I lowered my hands away from his shoulder as he wandered off towards the sink once again, holding back his scream of pain. He lets out a 'ah' sound for a second. I sat on the edge of the bed, Sam was sitting on, he had reached for the towel, and placed it on his wound to stop the fresh blood from dripping down his arm. His eyes glazed over to me, and noticed the right cut on my cheek bone as it dripped with fresh blood.

"You're bleeding," his voice was low, as I felt the trickle of blood run down my cheek, as I brought up my hand and wiped a bit of it away. I recline my hand to see my fingertips stained with the liquid.

"That I am," I replied, but Sam lifted the towel from his wound, and placed a fresh part of the towel onto the cut, and pressed hard on it for a moment. I winced at his touch, he was rough, I mean he had to put pressure on it. "Thanks," I offered him a small smile, as I brought my own hand up to replace the one that pressed on my cheek. Our hands touched briefly, but I felt his warmth, and his caringness. His hand slithered to the other end of the towel and used that bit to press on his own wound once again.

"You sure about Ruby?" Dean began to wonder if he could truly trust a demon. "'Cause I think it's just as likely she used us to find radio girl and then brought that demon in to kill us," Dean had turned around to face the both of us, but he was mainly focusing on Sam.

"No, she took Anna to keep her safe," Sam was certain about that.

"You've got a lot of faith in a demon," I state, catching the attention of both men. Dean's expression was a 'I know' look, as he also thought his brother had too much faith in her.

"Well, why hasn't she called to tell us where she is?" Dean popped the big question, as if she phoned we could have gone and met her.

"Because that demon is probably watching us right now, waiting to follow us right back to Anna again. That's why he let us go," Sam was a bit hostile when it came to Ruby. However, Dean chuckles, not the laughter kind, the 'really' kind.

"You call this letting us go?"

"Yeah, I do," Sam replied. "Look, killing us would've been no problem to that thing. That's why, for now, we just got to lay low, and wait for Ruby to contact us," again he had faith in that demon girl, and it was frustrating.

"How'd she gonna do that?" Dean again brought up another good question. If we were truly being watched then how she's gonna get past her own kind. Sam couldn't answer that, and merely shook his head at his brother, he rested an ice pack onto his left shoulder. "Why do you trust her so much?" Dean turns his body to face us once again. Sam sighs at his question, as he's heard it a million times.

"I told you,"

"You got to do better than that," Dean began, placing the ice pack onto the side of the sink. "Hey, and I'm not trying to pick a fight here. I mean, I really want to understand. But I need to know more," Dean walked slowly into the room, his eyes never leaving his little brother. I mean, Dean does deserve to know, and I wanted to know too. "I mean, I deserve to know more," it was like he read my mind or something. I stopped the compression on my cheek, and let the towel go, as my head had twisted to stare at Sam, waiting for his response.

"Because," he finally spoke after a moment of silence. "She saved my life," Sam's eyes were in the distance, recalling the memories he had with her...

Sam explained everything to us, and I mean everything. Even having a sexual encounter with Ruby, and sadly he spared the details.

"Sam?" Dean states, as he was now sitting across the bed Sam was on, sitting on a chair which was around the table.

"Yeah?" Sam replies, raising his gaze up to meet his brother's disturbed gaze.

"Too much information," Dean spoke, he was leaning over slightly, eyes burning into his brother.

"Hey, I told you I was coming clean,"

"Yeah, but now I feel dirty," Dean states, not wanting to picture such a thing. I, on the other hand, was allowing my wild imagination to run wild.

"I don't," I remarked, as I was sitting to the side of Dean, on the other chair around the table.

"Ok, well, uh," Dean began his gaze cocking from me back to his brother. "Brain-stabbing imagery aside. So far, all you've told me about is a manipulative bitch who, uh, screwed you, played mind games with you, and did everything in the book to get you to go bad," Dean still didn't trust that Ruby was truly on their side, and he had every right to be.

"Yeah, well, there's more to the story," Sam announces, as he hasn't finished telling us the whole story.

"Just," Dean began leaning forward. "Skip the nudity, please," he begged his brother to skip the sexual activities with Ruby.

"Pretty soon after... That," Sam began, choosing his words carefully. "Um, I put together some signs. Omens," Sam reconnected his eyes back with his brother.

"Saying what?"

"Lilith was in town," those words seemed to shock Dean. "And I wanted to strike her first," Sam was serious in his tone, wanting to kill Lilith once and for all. Thus, he began to explain his story with Lilith and Ruby once again...

"Ruby came back for me," Sam states, and it was hard to swallow, a Demon good? I wasn't buying it, there was something more going on with her. "Whatever you have to say, she saved me. More than that, she got through to me. What she said to me," Sam paused for a moment, eyes on Dean. "It's what you would've said. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be here," Sam was truly grateful to her, in his eyes she saved his life, and made him fight for something.

"Guess she really got through," my eyes came across Sam's, as he nodded slightly at my statement.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the motel door, making us all cock our heads to it. "Housekeeping," a maid spoke, finishing her knocking.

"Not now," Dean raised his voice, allowing the maid to hear him through the door.

"Sir, I've got clean towels," she replies, I mean we did need some clean towels. Dean rose from his chair and crossed the small distance to the door.

"Couldn't you just leave 'em at the door?" He spoke swinging open the door to reveal a maid, wearing the outfit for this place. However, she pushes past Dean after she handed him the towels, and she came over to the table, leaning over to grab the curtains and close them shut. I sensed that she was possessed, I imagine by Ruby.

"I'm at this address," I heard a rustle of paper as she handed a piece to Sam.

"I'm sorry, what?" Sam was dumbfounded, his eyes had cocked to his brother for a moment.

"Go now," she pointed to the bathroom. "Go through the bathroom window. Don't stop, don't take your car, don't pass go. There are demons in the hallway and in the parking lot,"

"Ruby?" Sam's expression changed dramatically, as he finally understood who it was.

"Ok, yes, so I'm possessing this maid for a hot minute. Sue me," she was sassy in her reply, as she placed her hands onto her hips, as if to tell him not to judge her.

"What about-"

"Coma girl?" Ruby cuts Sam off. "Slowly rotting on the floor back at the cabin with Anna. So, I've got to hurry back. See you when you get there... Go!" She was very bossy, as she shot her index finger at the bathroom window, wanting us to go now. Without another word, she strides for the door, opening it and closing it once she is out, leaving the boys speechless.

"Well boys, you heard her," I pushed myself up off the chair, and stood to my feet, before walking to get my top and jacket. This was going to be eventful...
