Chapter Eighty-One: Loki

I was forced to sit in between both of the Winchester men. The dress was surprisingly easy to move around in, but wasn't fit for any real type of combat. I focused on the head God in all of this, not wanting to take my gaze to either of the Winchester men. I don't think Dean would even make eye contact with me after what he did. I watched as each God took their respectable seats, and Kali and Baldur waited until everyone was seated, and ready to start.

Baldur remained standing, and grabbed a glass of champagne with a fork in his other hand. Before clinking the metal and glass together, making that sweet sound. Everyone in the room fell silent, and focused on him.

"Ladies and gentlemen... Thank you for coming," Baldur greeted as his eyes flowed across the floor and briefly met the Gods that have joined him today. "Well, in all my centuries, I never thought I'd see this – this many Gods under one roof-"

"Gods?" Sam's voice echoed from the left of me, as his head twisted to meet his brother, but I remained focused on Baldur.

"Now, before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules – no slaughtering each other. Curb your wrath. Oh, and, uh, keep your hands off the local virgins. We're trying to keep a low profile here," Baldur laid the rules for each of them to follow.

"Oh, we are so, so screwed," again Sam's voice entered my ears, but he remained focused on Baldur.

"Now, we all know why we're here," Baldur began, his eyes flickering between every God there. "The Judeo-Christian Apocalypse looms over us. I know we've all had our little disagreements in the past, but the time has come to put those aside and look toward the future. Cause if we don't, we won't have one," you would think Gods like these wouldn't worry about something so miniscule as this. But this affected them also. "Now, we do have three very valuable bargaining chips – Michael and Lucifer's Vessels. And the infamous Hybrid, connected to the archangels on a deep level," everyone in the room shifted their gazes over to the three of us, and frankly, the attention wasn't what I hoped for. "The question is... What do we do now? Anybody have any bright ideas, speak up. This is a safe room," Baldur was encouraging them to speak their minds. On the right hand table, a bald mandarin man stood up and began to speak Mandarin, but his tone was angry.

"Oh, I don't like his tone," Dean shot.

"Kill them? Why?" A black man from the left side who is Ganesh. A Hindu deity. "So the angels here can bring them back again?"

"I don't know what everybody's getting so worked up about," Odin spoke up, relaxed back in his chair, not having the care in the world. "This is just a couple of angels having a slap fight. It's no armageddon. Everybody knows when the world comes to an end, the great se[rent Jormungandr rises up, and I, myself will be eaten by a big wolf," Odin sounded proud, as in his religion this is how a brave warrior would die. A noble end. Zao Shen had spoken something, which didn't agree with Odin.

"Oh yeah? And why is that? Because your beliefs are so much more realistic? The whole world's getting carried around on the back of a giant turtle," Odin scoffs at the notion, not believing it one bit. "Give me a break," Zao told him not to mock his turtle. "What are you gonna do about it?" Odin angrily rose from his chair, and nearly leapt over the table to get Zao. They began to go at one another, but I blocked them out, shaking my head at their bickering. However, I felt both sides of me shift in weight, as if the boys were going to leave. Both of the Winchesters stood, and went around their chairs, but suddenly, a shattering sound echoed.

I perked up in my seat, and cocked my head over my shoulder seeing a chandelier on the ground. Smashed, and glass scattered the ground.

"Stay," Kali's voice now added into the mix. The boys turned slowly back around, not daring to make a bolt for it as they wouldn't get far. "We have to fight," Kali finally announced after scanning her eyes to the Gods in front of her. "The Archangels – the only thing they understand is violence. This ends in blood. There is no other way. It's them... Or us," Kali does have a point there. Lucifer will not just give up in his quest to kill his brother, and he will kill anyone who gets in his way.

"With all due respect... Ma'am," Mercury spoke, raising his hand up slightly to get her attention. "We haven't even tried talking to them," his eyes found the other Gods' gazes. But Kali offered this cold-deadly stare and Mercury began to choke on thin air. He began to loosen his tie, and as the choking became worse. Blood began to appear on his lips, and soon ran down his chin.

"Kali," Baldur's voice was stern, as the rules also applied to her. Mercury gasps as the hold on him fades, once again able to breathe.

"Who asked you?" Kali held that sass, giving her points for that alone. Out of the blue, the doors to the room opened.

"Can't we all just get along?" That voice that I know too well rang throughout the room. I could hear Sam began to speak Gabriel's name, but was cut off due to Gabriel's little trick. I could hear the click of his tongue. "Sam. Dean. It's always the wrong place, worst time with you muttonheads, huh?"

"Loki," Baldur didn't seem pleased to see Gabriel, and he was using a different name, meaning they didn't know who 'Loki' really is.

"Baldur," Gabriel mocked, walking around the chairs, and coming past me. "Good seeing you, too. I guess my invitation got lost in the mail," Gabriel jests, making light of this.

"Why are you here?"

"To talk about the elephant in the room," Ganesh was about to stand up from his chair. "Not you," Gabriel directed his gaze to Ganesh, who settled back down. "The apocalypse. We can't stop it, gang... But first things first," Gabriel spun on his heels, to face the boys, and myself. "The adults need to have a little conversation. Check you later," his eyes flicked between the three of us. With the echo of his fingers snapping echoing in my ears, I blinked and I was inside a room within the hotel. I was sitting on the edge of one of the beds, my gazes right at Dean and Sam.

"Ok... Did that," Dean was lost for words, and by Sam's expression, he was too. "Holy crap," both of them faced one another.

"Yeah, tell me about it. By the way, next time I say 'Let's keep driving,' uh, let's keep driving,"

"Ok, yeah, next time," Dean was quick in his reply, agreeing with his brother's statement.

"At least the Chuckle brothers haven't lost their touch," I remarked, allowing the brothers to finally take their gazes to me. "It seems like I can't get away from you two, and how infuriating is that," I bit back the anger I was currently feeling, but it could be heard in my tone.

"Abigael-"

"Don't!" I shot, quickly standing to my feet."I don't need your pity," Sam and I kept our eyes locked on one another, Dean could barely look at me.

"Uh, all right. So, what's our next move?" Sam went back to the problem at hand, I can't believe I'm pushing what happened aside, now wasn't the time.

"I-I. I don't know," Dean couldn't really think clearly. "We grab those poor saps out of the freezer, I guess – bust them out. Gank a few freaks along the way if we're lucky,"

"And when are you ever lucky?" Gabriel's voice came into play, as the source came from the couch he was on. His legs upon the glass table in front.

"Oh, you know what? Bite me, Gabriel." Dean turned to face him.

"Maybe later, big boy," Gabriel was smug in his reply, loving to tease Dean whenever he could.

"I should have known. I mean, this had your stink all over it from the jump,"

"You think I'm behind this? Please," Gabriel uncrossed his legs, and gracefully, stood up from the couch. "I'm the costner to your houston. I'm here to save your ass,"

"You want to pull us out of the fire?" Dean couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Bingo... Those Gods are either gonna dust you or use you as bait. Either way, you're uber-boned,"

"Wow – 'cause a couple of months ago, you were telling us that we need to play our roles. You were uber-boning us," Dean shot at Gabriel, recalling what happened.

"Ohhhh, the end is still nigh... Michael and Lucifer are gonna dance that lambada," he was so enjoying this right now. "But not tonight. Not here,"

"And why do you care?"

"I don't care," it took a few seconds for Gabriel to respond to Dean's question. "But... Me and Kali, we, uh. Had a thing. Chick was all hands," Gabriel remarked, finding humor in this. "What can I say? I'm sentimental," I rolled my eyes at him, cocking one leg over the other.

"Do they have a chance? Against Satan?" Sam desperately wanted to know the outcome of this.

"Really, Sam," Dean got to the shot before I could.

"You got a better idea, Dean?" Sam turned his gaze over his shoulder to meet his brother's gaze. It was brief as his head moved back to lock eyes with Gabriel.

"It's a bad idea. Lucifer's gonna turn them into finger paint. So let's get going while the going's good,"

"Ok, great. Why don't you just zap us out of here, then?"

"Would if I could," Gabriel shot back. "But Kali's got you by the short and curlies," the boys looked confused on what he meant by that.

"She's got us under a blood spell," I finished off where Gabriel was going to go with this. "You boys are on a leash," a smirk tugged the corner of my lips.

"What does that mean?" Dean turned his gaze back to Gabriel.

"Means it's time for a little of the old black magic," Gabriel pulled free a spray, and sprayed it into his mouth. Letting out a 'ah' sound.

"Ok. Yeah, well, whatever. We're gonna take the hors D'oeuvres in the freezer with us," even faced with literally Gods, he was also thinking about the innocent people being wrapped up in this.

"Forget it. It's gonna be hard enough sneaking you mooks out of here," Gabriel wasn't thrilled with this deal.

"They called you 'Loki', right?" Dean too caught on to what Baldur had spoken. "Which mean they don't really know who you are,"

"Told you – I'm in witness protection,"

"Ok, well, then how about you do what we say," Dean took a few steps closer to Gabriel, wanting to make his threat clear. "Or we tell the, uh, Legion of Doom about your secret identity? They don't seem like a real pro-angel kind of crowd," Dean was threatening to out him to them all.

"I'll take your voices away," Gabriel took a few steps forward.

"We'll write it down,"

"I'll cut off your hands," Gabriel shot back, his voice raising.

"Then people are gonna be asking. 'Why are you guys running around with no hands?'" Dean matched Gabriel with a counter offer, which made him give in. I couldn't help but smile at Dean's willingness to go the extra mile.

"Fine," Gabriel agreed to the terms, and in a blink of an eye he vanished from the room. I was just hoping he could get our blood, and end this blood spell. I hate feeling powerless to do nothing. This time, I'm the one who's on a leash....
