15 | Bite Me or Kiss Me
FALDREY
Standing in front of the towering, lustred timber of the wooden door to Eren's chambers, Faldrey had butterflies in his stomach. Flame butterflies. This was the closest he'd ever been to Eren's chambers, he'd never neared this part of the Blazing Keep. He couldn't wait to see the look of surprise on Eren's face when he sees him in his chamber-room.
Placing an incomplete rhythmic servant knock on the door, he slowly pushed it open. The giddiness that came over him prevented him from completing the knock and waiting for a reply.
Walking well into the room, he saw a lying Eren staring up at him ceiling.
"Lunch, Your Fieriness," he greeted courteously, changing the pitch of his voice so Eren wouldn't tell he was the one.
"Who the bloody furnace is that?!" Eren bellowed, springing up from his bed and shooting his glare in the direction the voice came from.
The sound had Faldrey staggering back a few steps, his hands falling to his side, clenching and shaking.
Faldrey then saw the reason Eren always wore a mask. He once asked him why and he simply answered 'let's just say I've scars that I'm not too proud of'. He never imagined it to be a literal scar, let alone one this big and severe.
"I-I-I'm so sorry, I—"
Eren didn't give him the chance to finish stuttering his sentence before he cut him off.
"How dare you come into my chambers without knocking?!" He enunciated every word with every long stride he took towards Faldrey.
When he'd gotten to a dangerously close distance, Faldrey started taking shaky steps backwards, backing away from the cart. He kept his eyes fixed on the scar which disfigured the lower half of his face.
"I-I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise you," Faldrey pled with a trembling voice.
Eren let out a gobble, the sound of his laughter awry and unfamiliar. It sounded nothing like the joyous belly laughter Faldrey was used to.
"Surprise me? Such a twist of events, now I've surprised you instead, haven't I?!"
Faldrey's back had hit a wall. With no other place left for him to shrink to, he pinned himself to the wall and watched as Eren approached him.
"I-I'm not surprised," Faldrey muttered, staring at the furious eyes of the Young Tal Dane.
Eren had gotten to him now, he was standing right in front of Faldrey. His hot breath warming the trembling boy's face, giving his cheeks a tint of pink.
"So you have always thought I looked this hideous?" There was a smile on his face but a sneer in his voice as he motioned at his scar.
"You're not hideous," Faldrey watched Eren's iris flicker from the normal brown of his eyes, to a very bright yellow every time he spoke. His rage daring to completely take over.
"I am hideous!" He slapped his hands to the wall with a loud thud, his hands now on either side of Faldrey's face. The action making the boy flinch and squeeze his eyes shut. Slowly opening them when he noticed Eren wasn't reaching to hit him. "I'm hideous!" He sobbed. It hurt his chest that Faldrey flinched because of him. He never wanted Faldrey to feel scared ever again, but now he was the reason behind his shaky hands and trembling lips. "I look like a monster," his voice turned soft as his head hung down, tears falling from his eyes now.
"No, Eren. You're not," a crystal tear drop escaped Faldrey's left eye, but he wasn't bawling like the boy with the damaged face in front of him.
"Yes, I am. I know I am. You most definitely hate me now," he cried, his head still hanging down.
He was facing the floor with his hands still rested on the wall, keeping Faldrey in place.
But they didn't have to keep him in place, Faldrey wasn't going anywhere, he did not want to go anywhere. He loved where he was, he wanted to be wherever Eren was. His face had no effect at all on how he felt about him, a scar was too little to make him reconsider.
"I can never hate you, even if I tried to force myself. I can only learn to accept and appreciate you the way you are."
"Yes you can. You can, and you do. You do hate me now," Faldrey could hear the hurt in his voice, it was loud and clear. "You're probably looking at me right now the same way you look at Metsumi," he wasn't just sobbing, Eren was outright bawling. Tears were leaving his eyes almost every second, wetting his face.
Faldrey mustered up all the courage he could, slowly bringing his hands to connect with Eren's face. Holding him, he lifted his head so he could look straight into his eyes as he spoke.
"You shouldn't compare yourself to your family, you're nothing like them," Eren made to bend his head back down but Faldrey held it in place. His hands directly over the scars, gently tracing. "I would never lie to you, so believe me when I say this: your scar does not make you look like a monster. In fact, it shows that you're caring to a fault."
The flickering in Eren's eyes had stopped. His iris was a steady brown now, his eyes were still glassy and tears slid down from them so frequently.
"You really think so?" Eren sniffled, taking his hands away from the wall and wiping his eyes with the back of his palms like a child. He was sniffing and sobbing, he couldn't complete a sentence without a hiccup.
"I know so," Faldrey began fondling the scar with his thumbs. "You know, I always wondered why you so desperately wanted me as your personal servant, why I caught a strong hint of stangely familiar concern in your voice. Now I've gotten answers from you, and all you had to do was just be you; Eren, the Young Tal Dane."
"You heard that?" Eren sniffed a snot back in.
"I heard everything that was discussed in the Fire Throne room on that day."
"I thought you were unconscious and at the brink of death. You didn't even move a muscle."
"I was," Faldrey's lips curved into a sad smile, "I truly was at the brink of death. But I wasn't unconscious, I wasn't granted the luxury of unconsciousness by Zaal. I fought to stay awake because I knew that wasn't the end for me, that couldn't have been the end. It was only the beginning."
"The beginning of what?" Eren had managed to stop crying and snorting, but the sobs still came once in a while.
He pulled Eren's face closer to his, he looked unsure of what he was doing, but he knew it was exactly what he wanted to do.
"The beginning of my destiny," with that he connected their lips.
(Play the song now.)
They both seemed to hold their breaths as the pleasure exploded from their connected lips to the rest of their bodies. The kiss was completely free of lust, but utterly passionate. Faldrey just kept his lips in place, and so did Eren.
Releasing the breath they unknowingly imprisoned in their lungs almost at the same time, the combined warmth of their breaths engulfed them in swirls of burning affection.
He tightened his grip on Eren's face so compassionately, squeezing his eyes shut and soaking in all his sadness. Eren brought his hands to hold Faldrey's slender face as well, gripping him so tightly, yet so tenderly, reciprocating his compassion.
Faldrey knew the movements to make, it was just something that came to him naturally but their still locked lips was the deepest expression of their love for each other. No further movement was needed.
Faldrey finally broke the kiss, throwing his hands around Eren's neck, while Eren locked his hands around his slim waist. They melted into each other, their souls imprinting, their stiffened members throbbing against one another behind all the fabric that kept them apart.
"I can never hate you, don't you ever think like that again," Faldrey mumbled into his neck, the heat of his words of strong fondness searing through his tunic and getting to his skin, exciting him.
"I wouldn't dare to, ever again. I promise," he replied into the flowery collar of his dress.
They basked in the heat of their love for eachother for another blissful moment, before unwillingly letting go.
Eren held Faldrey's small hands in his, but he withdrew one from his hold so he could reach and touch the scar on his lover's face.
"Hope you don't mind me asking how you got the scar?" He inquired, eyeing and fondling the red skin.
"Of course not. I got it from my father, he burnt me with his own flame."
Faldrey too moment to process his words, but he not for once looked away from his brown eyes.
"I'm so sorry about that," Faldrey sent him the most encouraging smile he could form.
"It's fine, I learnt my lesson. I will continue obeying him and observing untill I become the Tal Dane, then I will change the perverse minds of our people," Eren spoke with resolve.
"And hopefully I'll be here by your side when the time comes."
"Not hopefully, Byron," he pulled him into an embrace, enveloping him in his flaming tenderness, "definitely. You'll definitely be by my side when I ascend the Throne of Fire."
Eren was like an open book to Faldrey now, he knew everything about him. But Faldrey had lots of secrets he was hiding and that blurred the image of the happy ending in his head.
He knew he would have to bare himself to Eren sooner or later, and that terrified him.
