DAISY'S POV
My whole body felt totally wasted after spending a whole day in the library making notes. The sitting and writing was so tiresome.
Why I didn't download from the internet? I like having a hardcopy. Old-fashioned you may say.
After ten minutes, I heard an engine roar outside. He's left? The damned man couldn't even come apologise.
I gave my cheek a little slap. "Focus."
Suddenly my phone buzzed... Windy, my best friend from way back in highschool.
My head dropped on the fluffy pillows. "Hey girlfriend." "Don't call me that and you haven't checked in for days."
"Sorry Windy, just that, had a lot going on." She sighed from the other end. "Are you, okay?"
"Not really."
"I'm so sorry for being a bad friend." "Don't apologise you dummy. I'm on my way to your house."
I smiled rolling a hair strand on my finger. "Hurry up. We can go out for a movie." She laughed from the other end before ending the call.
"Need to prepare."
I pulled off the shirt rising from the bed and heading for the mahogany closet that stood proudly at the corner...
A knock came from my door.
"Come in mom."
It let a slight creak. And I just started talking. "Why do you like Alex so much mom? He's hot and every girl's Prince Charming. But he's not one inch right for me..." She said nothing and I thought she was waiting till I finished up on my part. Something was set on the night table while I was busy going through the closet for a nice comfy shirt. "Last night was a total disaster. There were just so many girls that looked ready to rip my soul out for Mr Universe. He took care of me as he'd promised dad, or maybe too much."
I reached for an oversized pink shirt. "You know mom, he did kiss me... I liked it, but I wondered, is that how he always do to every girl? Then this crazy girl shows up claiming he has a kid and it's all so messed up."
I rolled the shirt on my head, and she pulled it down for me. "For one moment, I thought the date would be picture perfect. Well, it had when Alex kissed me and-"words froze when I turned and met the tall frame grinning down at me.
My insides felt dead for that specific second. "You, you?"
He laughed pinching my nose. "What a cute chat."
"Ho-how? Where's mom?"
Alex walked to stand behind me and in front of the closet. Our backs seemed support at each other. And I let my head fall on his shoulders, allowing my eyes to shut.
"You must have enjoyed that?" The humiliation rang through every fiber in me. Why had he been there? Why had he heard me admit that he's hot? Or that I liked his kisses?
"Your mom rushed out to attend to an emergency at the hospital," he explained, and I turned around. Same time as he did that we almost bumped into each other as usual. "I made you a sandwich."
"What if I had been naked when you...walked in?"
Alex chuckled walking for the bed to sit. He placed the plate at his left, inviting me over to sit with him.
"I'd have enjoyed seeing a naked Daisy before being killed by her." "You're such a sick man." I condemned before sitting.

He picked a book from my desk, biting off from his sandwich. "You have an exam tomorrow..."
I glanced up at the guy, "Are you asking is reminding me?"
Alex laughed, "Simply offering my help darling."
Our eyes met and I rose from the bed. As Alex perused through it, I shut the book and offered a glare in return. "Thanks for the sandwich, but it's time for you to g-" A hand covered my mouth. Slowly, the half sandwich was slipped out of my hand and placed on the book next to his.
"You know..." Alex started, moving closer to me. But I slowly stepped back, yet he kept following till my back went flat against a wall...a dead end. The hand on my mouth dropped and I just stared up at him speechless.
"Last night-" "Don't!" I barked recovering my will. "What happened, what was said doesn't matter Alex. I have my life that I would love to get back to."
He sighed defeated.
"Yah, you're right." Alex stepped away from me. His gaze lowered, "Why are you angry Daisy? I still don't understand."
My jaw dropped. Was he seriously asking? But wait, why was I angry anyway? "Are you..." Alex's brow raised mischievously, only implying to one impossible question. "Are you crushing on me Miss Boring?"
Without thinking, I slapped him then slipped past the still body to the desk. "I need to study. You can help yourself out when you're tired of standing there like a statue." "Daisy."
"Just leave already." I plonked myself on the chair and pushed aside the half sandwiches to open the book... There were faint footsteps, a slight door creak then nothing. He was gone. But that didn't lower the rage burning inside me.
A few minutes later, Windy showed up.
