DAISY'S POV
I watched him from a distance. Calculating how I'd rip his head off after the party... As the school director gave a patriotic speech, my glare remained on Alex like his watchdog. Never blinking, never looking away.
The disgust in my throat for that male made me want to throw up at him.
"Daisy?" Windy's whisper had me shift my eyes to her. "What are you looki- Ooh, is it Alex?"
"I hate him Windy! He's acting like we're dating. So clingy and selfish!" I cried remembering the humiliation he had made me go through a while ago.
"Shh!" She took my hands. "Relax Daisy. I'm sure he's a nice gu-"
I yanked away my hands. "Are you siding with that devil now?"
Windy sighed pushing back her gorgeous red hair.
"No, no. I'm your girl. I'd never-" "Then try supporting me in this for once."
Her blue eyes sympathised with me softly. "I'm sorry... You're right, he's a devil. And we should get back at him for that." The evil smirk playing on the corners of her lips was enough, revenge.
And Windy, knew how to wreck shit.
Once the party was set in motion with hyper music and punch, things started getting messy on the dance floor...
Windy grinned excitedly.
It was creepy and scary. Yet necessary for the plan.
But then a wild question came in mind. "Why did you even carry that drug?"
A look of nervousness caressed her pale face. And she quickly pushed it aside.
"Don't mind. Just go give him the drink, and ask him for a dance."
"Okay, wish me luck."
She gave me a peck on the cheek. "You'll pull it off love."
I squeezed through the crowd to where Alex stood with probably one of his secret screwing-bitches.
"Daisy?"
It was a mixture of surprise and gladness.
"Alex! So I've been looking for you." I lied grinning end to end.
He chased away the other girl. "Thanks for the update Chrissy, see you later."
She scowled at me walking away.
"Look what I brought you, a drink." I handed it to him. "Fresh from the fountain."
Alex eyed me suspiciously receiving it. "And why are you being nice to me Daisy? What's the catch?"
A hysterical laugh escaped my mouth. Why was I being weird now?
"Nothing. Nothing."
He placed the cup behind him on the table.
An inside groan had my hands in tight balls. "Ain't you, gonna, drink that?"
He laughed picking another shade of cup. For all who wanted juice, the cups were pink, while punch were all red as my dress.
"I also got you something honey."
A lump formed in my throat. Maybe he had... "Don't frown now, I've not drugged it like you've drugged mine."
"What! Who said-"
He picked the red cup and stepped forward. "If you're innocent, drink a little."
I swallowed with a little difficulty. The heat of guilt ate up my insides so viciously.
"I...I don't drink..."
"I know. But a little of this won't kill you."
My eyes felt moist at that attack. But no, I had to act bold. So I grabbed the cup and poured all the content in a few gulps. "There!" I pushed the cup at his chest.
"See what I'm talking about. Who's guilty now, huh?"
Before I could know it, I was staggering, feeling so weak in the knees. That is what they called, a-plan-backfiring.
"Earth to Daisy. How's your head?"
I pushed him. "Don't you tou...me. Wow! Why is the room so round?"
Why was I so light?
Before I could fall, arms curled around my bare back. "Relax! I got you."
"Let m' go you 'on, of a 'itch..." I laughed feeling such beautiful butterflies leaving my stomach. They seemed to send every fiber in me in such a good mood.
Alex said something, but I was snaking out of his hold to the boy close by. I grabbed his punch and pushed him.
"Cheers to 'e fun time."
And that was the last thing I remembered... Other than someone forcefully carrying me out.
* * *
Windy pressed the icepack on my forehead while I continued lying to mom over a call.
"Mom, I'm fine I swear... Sorry I didn't call last night. But after the party, I had some group study... Yes, I'm at Stew's... Sure, I'll say hi to him... I love you too mom."
I groaned throwing the phone aside to fall back on the pillows.
"How bad did I mess up?"
She giggled lying next to me.
"Pretty bad I won't lie... Your video is going viral in the internet girl."
My head snapped.
"What! Video!"
She fished out her phone from the jacket pocket and clicked a few times before handing it to me.
And there was a really toxified Daisy busy killing the dance floor. She looked so lost in her world of fun. I never had fun. Not that kind of fun that'd get me in trouble if my parents saw that stupid video.
"Who even posted this thing... Damn! My parents will kill me if they lay eyes on it."
"It was some chic called... Oriya. Wasn't she, Alex's ex?'
I nodded pushing myself to sit, taking along the icepack.
"I'm so screwed Windy. How do I get myself out of this?"
"Oh you worry too much. Just make things official with Alex. I'm sure then-"
"Windy!" I barked darting her a 'shut up' glare. "That's not helping at all."
She groaned rising to kneel on her bed. "Don't act dumb, Alex likes you. Why would he come after you if he didn't?"
I let my eyes roll rudely.
"I know Alex, he's a player boy with nothing to lose. He doesn't have emotions, trust me."
"You're so...argh!"
"Save me the lecture. I gotta go home now before they find out I'm at your house."
Windy reached out and cupped my shoulders.
"You're nineteen Daisy. Get an apartment or something. You won't live forever with your parents like a little kid under monitoring."
I moved back, creating a distance between us.
"Dad would never agree of that, and you know him too well." She moaned again, huffing irritated.
"Come on Daisy! It's your life. I'm not asking you to rebel like I do. But, make them realise you ain't a kid."
I pushed a small smile.
"Okay. Whatever."
The house was deserted.
But it was only one in the afternoon, so nobody would be there anyway.
After a cold bath, I slid in a pair of baggy gray shorts and a white top. They'd be comfortable with the weather if I'd not go swimming.
There was a note stuck on the refrigerator door.
We'll be late for dinner honey.
"Take your time mom," I breathed sticking it back to proceed for the counter.
With the crazy fun of the previous night, I felt so hungry and tired. Just needing something to eat, and a peaceful break.
There was pizza in the refrigerator. After warming it, I sat at the breakfast bar to eat.
Hardly had I taken a single bite, the doorbell rang.
"Dammit!" I swore dropping the slice back on the platter.
It rang again. Annoying me like crazy that I yelled walking out of the kitchen. "Coming dammit!"
From the inner anger slicing through me, I forgot to first check the person standing outside before opening the door. Maybe then, I'd have avoided the person my eyes collided with.
"Wow! You look...good."
A drip of disgust corrupted my entire moods and tones.
"And what do you want now?"
Alex pinched the bridge of his nose looking down at me.
"Came to see my wild cat." He laughed crossing arms on his broad chest.
"Wrong address Mister!" I said flatly, and reached for the door to shut it.
But Alex's hand pushed it wide open before helping himself in uninvited.
"I'm not done here Missy."
Right then, I wanted to get the pan and smash his head like a tiny cockroach.
"Why are you bothering me Alex? Isn't it clear to you that I don't like your guts already?"
He said nothing, just walked in, straight for the kitchen.
"And he's ignoring me," I breathed to myself closing the door.
Getting in the kitchen, Alex had one slice of the pizza, busy devouring it while he searched for something in the shelves.
"Where's the ketchup Miss Boring?"
"You're such a nuisance Alex. Why don't you rush to the mall and buy it. Now give me that!" I cried dashing for the pizza in his hand.
