Percy POV

I knocked on the door, hands totally not shaking very slightly. I heard the unmistakable sound of a door unlocking before the door opened to reveal Annabeth looking at me in confusion and something I couldn't quite decipher.... something akin to relief? 

"Hi?" I said. It was like a spell was broken and she catapulted herself at me enveloping me in a hug.

"Where have you been?!" She stressed the last word to emphasise her worry, "I've been watching the news!" She dragged me into the apartment before quickly closing the door and turning back to me, "You know not to use your powers!"

"I know, but-"

"You could have been killed!" 

"It's not like I was trying to-"

"That's certainly debatable!"

"I was trying to help a friend!"

She opened her mouth to retort before closing her mouth and her face turned contemplative. "Quake okay?"

"What?" I asked confused. 

"There was footage of her on a roof getting her face beaten in," she explained. 

"She's good now, yeah," I answered her question. 

"Good," she said. 

We fell into an awkward silence. 

"I'm sorry, you just got back I shouldn't have yelled," she apologised. 

"You were just scared of me, to be honest, I would have reacted the same way," I smiled at her, and she returned it, "I should've called you, sorry."

"It's fine, not like I couldn't have called you too."

"Why didn't you?" 

She shrugged, "I don't know."

"If it means anything, I missed you?" I tried.

"It does, I missed you too," A silence took over us, this time comfortable, before Annabeth broke it by laughing slightly, "Look at us, you leave for like 3 days and we're already having panic attacks."

I laughed because now that it was pointed out it was ridiculous.
