Just some casual teasing

Gabe POV

I'm so glad Robbie is back, I was terrified for the idiot, he used to be really reckless like that back when he was racing but I thought he had stopped after the accident so when he disappeared with no warning again, it immediately reminded me of before the crash so I naturally worried.

Like any sane person, I called him about 1000 times as well as about 90 worried texts, so glad he lost his phone when he was helping Daisy 'cause if he didn't I probably wouldn't still be alive.

"What's Daisy like?" I asked him, earning myself a glare, "What? I never really got to know her in the two seconds we met, and let's not forget that in those two seconds she was fighting the watchdogs."

He took a deep breath and I smirked slightly, knowing I got through to him.

"She's nice, don't really know her all that well..." he took a moment of thought, "She's brave, strategic, reckless, and sort of stupid."

"Sounds like someone I know," I said.

"Who?" He asked.

"You," I stated simply. He gave me an incredulous look of confusion.

"What do you mean?"

I put down my cup in shock, "Oh my God Robbie! You really are blind!"

"Blind to what?"

"Not just blind, reckless, stupid..."

"Me? No... well... maybe those first two you said but not the others."

"Brave, kind..." I continued.

"Don't know about those."

"Excuse me, you ran out, twice, were most definitely on that boat, and what are bets that you were at least somewhere in the building or area when Daisy got hurt?"

He huffed and continued drinking his coffee.

"Point proven."

We continued on in silence as we looked out onto the street watching people as they walked by the cafe we were at.

"This is where we first met you know?" Robbie said after a bit.

"Hm?"

"Me and Daisy."

"You mean you met before she saved me?"

"Yeah, but... let's just say I didn't really make a great first impression."

"Oh, come on, Rob, how bad could it have possibly been?"

"You can't even begin to imagine," He muttered under his breath.

"That bad huh?"

"Yeah... that bad."

"Well, what happened?"

"Like I'm ever gonna tell you that," H said in a teasing tone.

"I'm sure I'll be able to get it out of your basically girlfriend when she's better."

"My wh- GABE!" Robbie yelled at me, but I was already wheeling away as fast as I could to his car, but before I knew it, Robbie was holding my wheelchair back with one hand as I still tried futilely to get to his car.

"Hey! No fair!" I said.

He ruffled my hair, messing it up, and then wheeled me to the car as I pouted and fixed my hair, deciding to drop the topic for now.

Fitz POV

AIDA picked up again, it's like she's monitoring Radcliffe's phone or something, so I went to check on Daisy instead.

I walked into her room to see her awake and fiddling with a loose piece of string on the blanket, which reminded me of back when she was Skye and had just got her powers and had no idea how to control them - now she could bloody fly with them!

"Hey, how are you?" I asked her, causing her to look up and smile.

"Good, sorry about the surprise flying," She apologized with a slightly sheepish expression.

"Don't worry about it, I'm just glad you're ok," I told her.

"What exactly did happen?"

"Uh-"

"Don't even try lie to me Fitz, please... just be honest," she pleaded.

I took a deep breath before asking, "How much do you know?"

"All I know is everything that happened like just before I must have passed out."

"Yeah, uh not just passed out..."

"What do you mean?"

"You died..."

"I... What? I died!?"

"Yeah... Dr Strange, the wizard, saved you with a flower Robbie found," I explained as void of detail as I could.

"A flower? Wait- Robbie? Why would he want to save me? I've known him for a few days?"

I smirked knowingly.

"What? What has he told you?"

"He hasn't told me anything, but I think I have a pretty good idea of why."

"Why?"

"Don't worry about it."

I saw the millions of questions still swarming inside her brain but she let it slide, I thought she was supposed to be a spy.

I watched a smile creep onto her face.

"Oh? Robbie?" I asked.

"What do you mea- wait seriously, Fitz?" she asked me, "No it's not like that."

"No it's cool, he's a good guy," I approved.

"Fitz! It's not like that!" She disagreed.

"Sure."

"No really!"

"Whatever you say, Daisy," I said a teasing smile planted on my face.

She rolled her eyes at me.

After about two minutes of comfortable silence, she said, "It is nice that he saved me..."

I smirked, "It is isn't it."

"What do you think of him?" she asked me. That's touching, even after all this time away she's taken, not seeing me for over 6 months, she still cares about my opinion and trusts my judgment.

"Like I said, he's a great guy, or from what I can tell so far, truthfully, I haven't had as much time with him as I would like so I haven't really had time to develop an opinion. But I the time I saw how dedicated he was to saving your life so that on its own leads me to trust him." I said honestly.

She smiled.

"Are you coming back? To SHIELD?" I asked her.

"I don't know," she answered. Not really the answer I was hoping for, but it's not a "no" so that's a bonus right? "If I wasn't convinced before, I definitely am now, Simmons was in here a little ago asking if I was gonna come."

I chuckled. "Anyway, you know what's more important? What do you think of Robbie?"

"I think he's great. Kind, loyal, and hotheaded... literally."

That caused me to laugh.

"You should probably talk to him when you can," I suggested.

"I will..."

"He's with his brother right now," I informed her.

"So am I."

I beamed and watched as her eyes widened and a blush spread across her face and she whispered rhetorically, "Did I say that out loud?"

I laughed at her expense but then she joined in a bit after.

"How have you been then Fitz?" she asked.

"Well I'm sure Simmons told you but things with me and her are going great," She smiled and nodded, "Work with the team's been pretty good well, not Mace," I had a bitter note in my voice as I said his name, and rolled my eyes, "He's not good, we don't like him, or at least I don't like him."

She shook her head, "Simmons doesn't really like him, and by the sound of it, neither does the rest of the team. I for one am not that big on him in our limited interaction time."

I smiled... "Sadly, I should probably go now, sorry."

"No, no it was just great seeing you," She smiled at me and I opened up the door before leaving and making my way to where I was pretty sure Stark and Banner were so I could tell them about my call to Radcliffe, which was more like a 2-second call to AIDA, and talk to them about what to do.
