"I've been trying to figure out how to move all of our stuff in and I really don't want to do it all alone or end up getting in each other's ways so what do you think about helping each other?" Magnus asked after they had all talked a bit more to get to know each other. Jace still didn't seem as excited about their roommate but Alec was ecstatic. 

"That's a great idea." Alec offered up and Jace nodded. "Sure. It'll probably go faster that way."

"Wonderful." Magnus clapped his hands and spun on his sparkling shoe. "Let's start with Jace's. We can shove everything in and close the door then move on."

"Works for me." Jace sauntered outside to his car. 

"You know, it's not wrong," Magnus whispered to Alec as they followed his friend down the stairs. 

"I don't know what you're talking about," Alec whispered back. Why were they whispering?

"You do," Magnus winked and jumped down the stairs with perky energy that Alec was envious of. 

"Your truck smells of man." Magnus pinched his nose. "And not in a good way." 

"That's my football gear." Jace shrugged. 

"You'll keep that out here right?" Magnus winced as another whiff hit him. 

Jace rolled his eyes. "You're just like Alec."

"I think he's just human." Alec dropped the tailgate and jumped up. "No one likes it. I'll hand you guys boxes and then we can take turns doing the running."

"Perfect." Magnus took the box, making sure his hand rubbed against Alec's. Jace was still digging through the front of his truck so he didn't see it. As they continued Magnus did it every time he grabbed an item from Alec. Alec was getting used to it and the constant heat he was feeling by the time they were finished with Jace's stuff. 

"She's back." Jace turned to watch the redhead from earlier walk past them. "You guys got this right?" He asked as he was already jogging away.

"Charming." Magnus rolled his eyes and snorted. "Is he always like that?"

"Yeah." Alec smiled. "He means well, just tends to get distracted."

"Oh, I could tell. He kept stopping to check himself out in the mirror." Magnus pulled himself up on the bed of the truck to take a seat and Alec joined him.

"He's my brother, so be nice," Alec said. 

"Brothers?" Magnus pointed between them. "No way."

"He's adopted," Alec admitted. "He's also my best friend so I don't allow people to talk bad about him."

"I'm sorry." Magnus understood the connection between them better just from that. Alec loved Jace, but he had also shown that he wasn't the kind of guy to just be friends. He was dedicated, loyal, and patient. Clearly, he was also used to being the runner up to his best friend when he should have been the first place.

"It's fine. You don't know him." Alec slid off the truck and waited for Magnus to jump down before closing it. Alec saw the keys. "What do you think about taking a break from moving?"

"I would say I'm in love." Magnus joked. "What do you have in mind?"

"I heard that there's a great ice cream place." Alec shrugged. "Maybe we can take a lunch break and then come back."

"Ice cream for lunch?" Magnus took the keys from Alec. "I say absolutely. Tell me where to, pretty boy."

"I don't know." Alec laughed and got in the passenger side of the truck knowing that Jace wouldn't mind them taking his truck. He would absolutely mind that Alec was going to let Magnus drive though.

"Oh, so an adventure?" Mangus rubbed his chin that had dark stubble starting to show like a shadow on his chin. Alec wondered if he'd look better with facial hair, but imagined that it would be impossible for him to look any better. "Let's make it a game. Close your eyes and tell me left, right, or straight when I stop. I'll follow your directions until we end up somewhere."

"Close my eyes?" Alec felt a hint of fear. "Are you a good driver?"

"Excellent. Trust me." Magnus covered Alec's eyes with his hand. "Now close them."

Alec laughed and moved Magnus's hand. "Fine. I'll do it."

"Are you always this easy?" Magnus asked and they both caught the insinuation.

"Um." Alec blushed and got his seatbelt on without saying anything else. 

"Ready?" Magnus asked after letting the tension sit for a minute. "I'll back up and then you close your eyes."

"Got it." Alec closed his eyes. "When will I know to say a direction?"

"I'll say. Now." Magnus declared as he whipped out of the parking spot. Alec yelped and grabbed onto the handle above the door. "Oops." Magnus chuckled.

"Are you sure you're not going to kill me?" Alec asked.

"You're far too pretty for that." Magnus winked. "Now close your eyes."

"Okay."

"Now."

"Left."

"Now."

"Straight."

"Now."

"Left."

They continued until Magnus declared. "We are here."

Alec opened his eyes and blinked from the sun hitting them for the first time in about 15 minutes. They were in a parking spot next to a lake. It was so blue that Alec imagined his eyes would disappear into it. He saw some people down at the edge of the water, but not as many as he would have expected on such a nice day. Magnus got out of the truck and walked over to Alec's side. Alec got out and they walked to a curve and saw an empty beach that was on a small island in the middle of the lake. It was probably half a mile away.

"Can you swim?" Magnus asked as he ripped his shirt off. 

"Yes." Alec was memorized by Magnus's chest. It was chiseled but still looked soft. He wanted to reach out and touch it. 

"Let's go." Magnus kicked off his shoes, yanked off his socks and unbuttoned his pants. Alec turned away flushing. 

"Um, we don't have out swimsuits." Alec had his eyes closed to keep from looking at Magnus. 

"So what?" Magnus touched Alec's arm and Alec jumped at least 3 feet in the air. "Chill. I'm not going to bite you unless you want me to."

"You took your clothes off," Alec said as his eyes skimmed along the perfection that was in front of him.

"It's not like I'm naked." Magnus rolled his eyes and snorted. He was right. He was in a pair of purple briefs that were too tight for Alec's comfort because it was making him feel things he wasn't comfortable with. "Come on. This is a great first adventure."

"What about our stuff?" Alec asked as he pulled off his shirt.

"It'll still be there when we get back." Magnus walked away and stepped into the water. "Hurry up, pretty boy."

"Okay, okay." Alec ripped his shoes and pants off completely forgetting that he still had his socks on as he ran into the water. 

"You have your-" Magnus laughed as Alec realized that his socks were on. "And I was thinking that you thought too much clearly you don't think enough." Magnus teased and Alec shoved him. 

Magnus let himself be pushed so he could slide under the cool water. It felt great on his heated skin. Alec disappeared under the water and Magnus watched in awe as his muscles rippled with his graceful movements. 

"I love swimming." Alec sighed when he finally came up for air.

"I love watching you swim." Magnus blurted then coughed to cover up his amusement at Alec's expression. "You look so at home in the water."

"Yeah," Alec was treading water easily while facing Magnus. "It's the only place I feel right, you know?"

"I do." Magnus swam closer to him, but made sure to leave some distance so as not to spook him. "Want to swim to the island?"

"I would love to but the idea of our stuff just sitting there is stressing me out. Maybe we can come back tomorrow?" Alec seemed sad to say goodbye to the lake, but Magnus understood. 

"Sounds perfect," Magnus said as he continued to swim around. His hair kept getting in his eyes but he didn't mind. 

"I don't want to leave." Alec went under again and Magnus watched him.

"Where have you guys been?" Jace demanded as they pulled up. Thankfully Alec had driven them back. "And why are you wet?"

"We went to the lake for a break," Alec said. "Thanks for letting us borrow your truck." He tossed the keys to Jace.

"You could have at least told me." Jace was pissed. "For all, I knew you had been kidnapped when someone stole my truck."

"Chill." Magnus sauntered over to a sparkly, purple car. "We're both fine and you were off with that girl. Let's get back to work."

"Fine. But, Alec seriously next time at least text me." Jace patted Alec's shoulder and Alec felt guilty. They had always looked out for each other. Jace was the most protective and loyal person he knew and after what happened to his dad he tended to worry more than he should.

"I'm sorry. Really." Alec assured him and then changed the subject. "So, what's her name?"

"Clary." Jace beamed. "And she's great at kissing. I can't wait to see what else she can do."

"Perv." Alec shoved him and then took a box from Magnus. "Which room did you want?" He asked Magnus.

"Either." Magnus shrugged. "You can choose."

"You can have the one with the view." Alec smiled. "I think you'll appreciate it more than me."

Magnus cocked an eyebrow. Was Alec flirting or being serious. "I do appreciate this view."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Jace grabbed a huge tote. "You can either see the road or the other side of the building."

It took them another couple of hours to get all of their belongings inside and they were exhausted. They all sat on the couch, Alec in the middle happily and caught their breath. Jace started to snore and Magnus ran his hand over Alec's thigh. Alec looked over at Magnus, not sure what to do. 

"I need to," Alec started to say but stopped. He didn't need to do anything. Right now he needed to just stay. 

"Don't worry." Magnus smiled at him and Alec saw a hunger in his eyes. "I'll take your direction. you tell me to stop; I'll stop. You tell me to go slower; I will. And faster? Darling, I can go faster than you could ever imagine."

A/N What do you think of this AU? I promise after this I'll get to the other songs that have been requested. But for now, I hope you don't mind me getting back into writing a multipart Malec story. I have at least a couple more chapters in my head for it already. Also, sorry for all the updates today. The part 1 of this isn't showing up so I had to republish.
