A Lot
I have a lot to make up for. I'm not quite sure what I'll do—it may be a few extra long chapters—but I'm gonna figure it out.
Anyway, for now, here's a deep thought.
In theatre, a lot of times, people cast in the ensemble feel as though they aren't important. The story is following the main characters, the ensemble is just there to sing and dance, right?
Wrong. I have a very wise acting teacher who makes sure that we know, every member of the show is important, from the lead soloist to a random man in scene three. She urges ensemble members to create their own character arc, backstory, motivation, be fully invested in every scene. In this way, even though we're only watching one story in the spotlight, thousands of stories are happening on stage. It comes alive. That's what turns a good show into a great one.
So even if you feel like you're just a background character in the play of life, you're still IMMENSELY important. Make the show about YOU. Be the best you you can be, and remember that your story is just as important as the people on the news.
You're a star. I'm proud of you.
Much love,
Margot
