Daesung was born to a male idol and a woman that had been his childhood sweetheart. However, he wasn't around very often since he'd kept them a secret from even his bosses.

When Daesung was very young, his mother passed away. And he didn't know the name of his dad, just that he called him dad, and that he watched him on TV. But since they couldn't find any family to claim Daesung, he was sent away into foster care.

When he was six years old, he met Jaehyun Park, who was his age and was born on the same day he was. He had cancer, and Daesung had developed it as well, so they both ended up sharing a hospital room, and they became very close.

Daesung learned that Jaehyun's foster family had abandoned him, leaving him there with nobody but strangers to care for him, and then a different family kept him with him while he was getting the treatments.

    After their cancer was under better control, the two of them ended up in the same foster family, mostly because Daesung talked about Jaehyun so much that his foster parents decided to take him in, too.

     When they were both ten, they had been cured of the cancer and were doing much better. And Jaehyun finally found out the story of his parents, so shared it with Daesung, who then shared his own story with him.

     Jaehyun's parents gave him up, and Daesung's father didn't know where he was, and Daesung's mother had died from the same kind of cancer he'd gotten. Both of them had a pretty rough past, but the two stuck close to each other and looked out for each other.

     Daesung and Jaehyun were adopted by American parents at thirteen, and at sixteen they enrolled into Hollywood Arts and got in.
