Chapter 6: Ancient Tale

It had taken only about 3 minutes for Khan's group to get back to William's universe. On the other hand, it was already night in Khan's universe and it was even a new moon day, which was quite strange for the young Bismarck. Here, however, it was day at one in the afternoon.

Maybe time worked differently in other universes, or at least that's what he wanted to believe, since he couldn't seem to figure out how to explain this.

— You plan to explain this new situation to the rest of the group, won't you?

Alvis' voice snapped William out of his thoughts. The demon had his eyes on Khan, who still seemed to be discussing something.

— Even if I wanted to hide it. Everyone saw us go through the portal. And Moebius was with us.

The aforementioned just frowned at his comment, William and Asher were just watching, as they knew nothing at all about the universe these three inhabited.

— HaShem... He said that only "your team" would use them. He meant that they wouldn't allow anyone from this world to get their hands on them.

Moebius entered the conversation and said these words, which only made William remember the words spoken by the White Panther.

— If you have the weapons that can destroy them, how can we fight?

Trying to find an answer to Moebius' comment, William decided to speak after a few minutes.Asher watched as Alvis sighed for a second. Then he pointed at William.

— They got you.

was the answer of the demon, who only left William stunned in his place.

— Me?

William was incredulous at his statement, a fact that was the cause of a heavy sigh from Moebius.

Regarding the untraditional way of Alvis and Khan giving the information to young Bismarck.

— What they are talking about is that since you are now a special Gamut, you will be able to fight monsters and other creatures that have the black blood in them.

Asher listened attentively to Moebius' words, even if they could fight the monsters, the problem would be the following.

— And what should we do with the parasite?

Alvis frowned for a second when the chained demon asked this question.

Khan noticed this, so he decided to just think about it for a couple of seconds. The problem with this parasitic class of gamut was that it did not behave like the others.

It remains reclusive, avoiding full contact unless it feels threatened, as it did when Khan himself came within seconds of killing the Sündenjäger.

— Maybe he fears us.

Moebius had a slightly confused look on his face at his answer.

— Is that a joke? We haven't done anything to him.

Alvis interrupted him abruptly and continued to talk.

— Of course, he fears us. You come from the Sündenjäger family. They had a bad reputation for wiping out my kind and the species infected with black blood. Here we have this idiot who can supposedly kill millions of demons in the blink of an eye.

The more he heard about Khan Crowe and Moebius' Sinner, the more impressed and alarmed William became. The only thing he could think of was that they would make a terrifying duo to fight, especially Khan, who still hadn't found out what he was hiding.

— Won't you say anything about yourself? Sadistic chained Demon lord.

Khan sneered a bit at Alvis, who quickly shot an angry look at him.

— I told you ... Nobody ever calls me that!

Alvis' tone of voice was very angry when he heard the nickname Khan had just had in front of him.

— Of course, it is.

Seeing his reaction, a grin returned to Khan's face. Alvis on the other side was trying to hit him, but he failed. He failed every time he tried. Khan would start to dodge in a somewhat comical way when Alvis tried to land a punch.

William and Asher could only watch the scene with a little bit of discomfort, these two seemed to have a very bad relationship at first glance. At the moment, they were playing like children, even though a few seconds ago, they were in the middle of a very serious discussion.

— So, what do you think of this Bismarck guy?

Asher asked William, still watching Khan and Alvis play through the eyes of his host. William, for his part, could only utter a small sigh of recognition of something about Alvis' personality.

— I don't know how to describe him... But his personality, isn't it very similar to Moebius Sündenjäger?

That was William's reply, he was talking to Asher telepathically.

After all, he did not want Moebius, who was standing to the right of him, to overhear their conversation.

Blam!

The sound drew the attention of the other three, who saw Alvis fall to the ground, and next to him, one Khan held back the urge to laugh.

Moebius and William blinked a couple of times, because the way the black-haired man was laughing, it didn't seem like he was making fun of the demon.

— Pffff... William, A can also hear what you're thinking... Hahahaha!

The wise man said with a chuckle, causing William and Asher to stand in their seats a little bit stunned.

Was Alvis lying to them before?

— I'm not doing this for fun! That's how we demons work! Explain yourself, asshole!

Watching the other two elders behaving like two little children, Moebius could only cross his arms.

— What he means is: Daemons use telepathy to know the intimate thoughts and desires of humans.

Moebius' summary reached William's ears. He assumed that the hunter was explaining what Alvis was referring to.

— Stop laughing, damnit! It's not funny anymore, you bastard!

Alvis scolded Khan again, still getting annoyed with Khan for having mocked the Demon.

— HAHAHAHA, Sorry, Sorry. I'm stopping now hahaha.

Khan's laughter began to die down as he tried to calm down, followed by a small "ahem" from him.

— Back to the original subject, we need the rest to know absolutely everything... And I mean all of the information that I have been hiding from you as an observer.

Moebius and Alvis, both already used to this kind of thing, gave Khan a suspicious look. But William, who didn't even know that he was an Observer, was a bit curious, especially since Khan had been hiding information from his own group as well.

— ... You can tell me about your problems later on. As soon as possible, the others need to know about the Dainsleifs.

Khan just nodded his head at Moebius' words, and then Moebius left the place, ready for a search for Yuliana.

Seeing that Moebius was no longer in his radar vision, Alvis, who had been silent for a few seconds, decided to speak.

— Do you plan to tell it all?

There was a hint of suspicion in his tone. The Xenonian was not surprised by his attitude. At least Alvis knows him somewhat.

— I won't lie to you. There's still something I can't tell you.

Asher saw Khan holding his left arm slightly, it even looked like it wanted to move by itself.

— In truth, it wasn't too far from what I had in mind for them in the first place. I sent them to this universe to get them away from the war in my universe, I had little Naoto found the Murakumo Agency to fulfill that wish of mine.

William and Asher listened carefully to what Khan said, they really didn't know if what he told them was true or not, as he still seemed to be trying to hide something from them. Asher felt that Khan seemed to be hiding something, and maybe it was because he seemed to be a little weak and tired physically, the problem was that his theory didn't quite fit since he seemed to be fine at first glance.

William, on the other hand, continued to listen to what he was saying, trying to figure out if what he said was true or not.

— If I had known that you were already here, I would never have come to this universe in the first place. Perhaps that would keep Lucifer from being able to set his eyes on this universe.

Every word he said was filled with melancholy. Alvis, who was still standing with his arms crossed, let out a small sigh.

— Are you apologizing again?

He asked the Xenonian who wasn't looking at him.

— I told you I don't think...

Khan stopped when he saw Alvis' expression. His face showed no emotion.

But still...

There was one thing it did show, and that feeling was confusion.

— You can have a talk about it with your guys, I'm not in this trouble with the "Murakumo Agency".

There was a smile on Khan's face for a moment at his words, then a hand on his shoulder.

— Good to have you here, A.

Alvis rolled his eyes; William could have sworn he saw him smile for a few seconds.

— Well, let's get back to the lessons, young Bismarck.

The spotlight shifted back to William, who could see that Khan had reverted back to his typical enigmatic self.

— First Question: What is an Observer to you?

— How you expect me to answer that, we have no idea.

Asher replied to Khan's sudden question for William, who still seemed a bit out of it.

— That's why we're here Asher, for learning.

Khan replied with a certain sarcasm that made Asher feel a little annoyed because he seemed to be mocking him.

— If I had to put it simply, it is a being outside of the Omniverse that can observe what is happening in the entire Multiverse at any given time, the only rule they have for them is that they cannot change the order of how the Lines of Fate work.

William listened to his words with some surprise, perhaps this would explain a bit how he could be so knowledgeable about this world without even being a part of it. It was also a bit of an explanation for the fact that he knew things before others.

Asher, on the other hand, was getting a little idea of how his meticulous way of thinking could work, but he still had his doubts about these so called "Observers".

— In other words, they have the power of knowledge that is forbidden to others.

Asher's question brought back memories of a girl by the name of Shiori Novella, who had similar knowledge. She was said to possess similar knowledge.

— You might say it's similar.

Khan looked no one's face, William found that strange, but when Khan raised his face slightly.

— What the hell...?

The surprise on William's face could not be greater when he saw eight eyes reflected in Khan's crystal, which seemed to have a certain transparent color.

— Surprised? I can't say much of that, but those eyeballs... They are the ones that allow me to see the past, the present, and the future, and perhaps even the entire omniverse if I wanted to.

The black-haired man began to smile as he said these words, only to become much more serious.

Alvis noticed this. He decided to simply ask him the following question:

— What are you looking at right now?

Faced with the demon's question, Khan decided to answer him simply.

—  Death ... That's what I'm witnessing.

The faces of Alvis, William, and Asher froze in place when they heard his words.

— Quit joking, this isn't funny.

Unable to believe his words, William replied.

Khan didn't answer him. He just looked at him with a serious and sad face at the same time. He started to sigh and then threw his pocket watch at William.

— You want to see the future? See for yourself.

William turned his gaze back to the pocket watch. The last time he had touched it, he had brought with him a parasite from another universe, which, by the way, is attached to his back like a leech.

There was a look of doubt on the young Bismarck's face, and Khan, seeing the look on his face, decided to instruct him in the use of the watch.

— They have to type 1133. Don't do it too often, the White King won't like it.

William raised an eyebrow at his comment, he didn't understand much about who this 'White King' was. The only conclusion he could come up with was that this being called the "White King" must represent the "Creator" in Khan's universe, making this guy called the "Black King" a much eviler representation of Satanael.

In the end, William rejected this idea because Hiiro Shishido had mentioned that Anael was an alternate version of Ironmouse, which was a bit confusing to him. Asher's thoughts were the same as William's, only a bit different; from the titles of both kings, he could deduce that there was a great deal of resentment on the part of the "Black King", and it was also not very clear to him if Anael was really "Satan" in Khan's universe.

— Should I do that, am I right?

William asked Khan once more for confirmation, he was still full of doubts, what if he had brought something else with him from the dimension of the Xenonian.

— Don't be afraid. You will only see one of the future possibilities of this universe.

The young Bismarck was not quite sure of his words, but somehow, he felt reassured. William was still a bit wary of the Khan, as he still knew absolutely nothing about him. Nevertheless, he decided to follow his advice and dialed the numbers he gave, watching as some images were projected on the clock and then passed through his mind.

He was transported to a sort of room that began to display the following pictures:

Death.

Chaos.

Destruction.

And Blood.

A world full of despair and without a single survivor, in these images one could see the corpses of many people, among them. There was his own body, a girl who was a Nephilim between human and demon, and finally a girl who was known as the greatest thief in the universe. She was called "Spectre".

William was in a state of shock at the sight of these pictures, there was no one standing, everyone was dead. The world was in ruins and there were only some monsters in it. A few monsters with dark skin and red spots that looked like blood.

Wandering through this desolate universe as they fought and killed each other to feed on those who lost.

— What is this...? This... This cannot be the future.

William recoiled at the sight of all the catastrophes that had taken place.

— It is possible.

He heard a voice behind him, for some reason a great fear ran through his whole body. It was hard to breathe, his body felt so heavy that he fell to his knees.

A voice echoed in this vision. William tried to stay sane while listening to this mysterious voice.

— Enjoy the view, William Bismarck.

The silhouette of a man wearing a black hood that covered most of his clothing was in front of his eyes. Except his face.

— .....

When he saw what his eyes reflected, William went blank. He stood paralyzed as a wave of panic and terror washed over him.

Who was he?

What was he?

They were something he could not describe, why did his aura reflect that?

— You will lead me to the victory.

It was the last thing he heard before coming back to reality, where Alvis and Khan were looking at him worriedly, William still looking down, feeling like he was going to throw up.

— Bismarck, is everything alright?

He didn't say a word. Instead, he tried to breathe as best he could, still fighting the urge to vomit.

— Corvidalus, you're in there with him, what did he see?

— ... A war, everything was destroyed and .... And... And...

For a second, Khan had two options, closing his eyes as he listened to Asher's hesitation. Either the images they saw were too much to bear ... Or... Somebody spoke to William.

— William... I know you don't want to talk about what you've seen, but...

Khan crouched down to his full height, since he was still on the ground, and gazed down at the floor, not making eye contact with anyone.

— What was the color of his eyes?

He heard him pant for a second. William needed to calm down.

so why was he so afraid now?

Who the hell was this man?

Why did he need him in order to win?

What did he see in his soul?

— I don't know, I just saw... an intense, deep color between crimson and black.

Alvis gritted his teeth as he heard HIS answer, then a name came out.

— Lucifer ... That son of a bitch is watchin' us.

William shuddered again when he heard that name, he had no idea what was happening to him, only the memory of that man.

There was a grotesque sensation in the back of his mouth.

*Cough* *Gasp* I want to throw up.

Those were William's words. Alvis helped him to his feet.

— I'm going to take him to the bathroom, in the meantime you can see how far this bastard of Lucifer will go.

— Hm.

Alvis went away with William leaning on him, and Khan, for his part, could only stay in that place and try to analyze everything that he had seen in that vision.

— The future is uncertain, for the wheel of destiny is in the hands of the black king. Which of the visions I just saw is the real one, there is no way to know for sure.

The sage said to himself. He looked into one of the mirrors in the room.

— What do you need of this world, Lucifer?

He started to turn around a couple of times, thinking of an answer to his own question, but he kept doubting if this answer would lead him directly to the truth that he wanted to know. Questions and more questions formed in his head, none of them leading him to the right way. Each one led him down a dead end road.

In the end, he gave up. He could not find a safe way to the "future", which put his friends and the Murakumo Agency in danger.

— I think I'll have to call her anyway.

He reached into one of his pockets, just to dial a certain number that was one of his contacts. The seconds passed quickly, that is, until he finally heard the other person answer.

— What do you want from me?

He could hear some knocking and kicking from the other line. It made him smile a little.

— I see. You're busy on the other side.

A certain tongue lashing made him chuckle a bit, his little chuckles a source of annoyance to the person on the other end of the line.

— Ah, so this is how it's going to go... I guess I should hang up and say nothing.

A mischievous smile appeared on the Xenonian's face. The other person noticed this, because she didn't hear a single sound from the other side.

After a few minutes, Khan was in the mood for a game.

— Are you sure about this Anael? When things get heated, we'll see who knows everything.

"Anael," who was on the other end of the line, sighed heavily. She frowned at the man's words. She knew better than anyone else that his playful, mischievous tone was a sign of trouble, and the fact that it wasn't his usual joke didn't help her uncertainty.

— What's the point?

— Don't get upset... But Lucifer is probably here.

Boom.

A certain sound was heard from behind the phone line Khan was connected to. From the sound of it, he could deduce that it was a hub that had just collapsed due to the force it had been subjected to.

— You better be kidding right now, or this world is going to be...

—  Calm yourself.

He answers her calmly. He looks out of one of the Hololive's windows at the great city of Tokyo. From the other side of the line, he heard Anael take a few deep breaths. She was trying to calm down and be calm, both in mind and body.

When he didn't hear the inhaling and exhaling, he wanted to continue the conversation himself.

— I'm not saying he's here in person. That's practically impossible right now.

— When you say right now, it means that he will be here sometime.

Anael had another conversation with him on the phone, only to fall back into a short, uncomfortable silence.

She didn't like it, only when "the wise one" was silent like that, it meant that something was wrong.

— What kind of things did you see in the future?

— A lot of things.

He answered her quickly and precisely.

— Is there really nothing in this vision?

Again, there was silence. It was as if this question worried Khan.

—  Mm... I'll be direct.

Anael was already expecting what he would say next when his tone changed to a much more serious and determined one.

— In the not-too-distant future, it is very likely that one of the five of us will die.

Silence reigned between the two, Khan just waiting for Anael to say something from the other line.

— Five? As far as I know, only three of us, Alvis, you and I, are bound to the Lines of destiny.

Timeline events, or better known as "Lines of destiny", are canonical events that happen throughout the history of a universe. Such events must follow their course, leading them to certain destinies that could end in good or bad ways for certain people.

Such events are inevitable to stop them, because due to certain factors, this event will be repeated until that person fulfills the canon of the universe.

Among them are the following;

1. Loss of a family member or a close person.

2. Suffering loss of a loved one.

3. Losing your life.

Those who have dared to go against the paths of fate will suffer the consequences of being sent to the Prison of Time and Space, Máximum. They will be locked in the darkest corners of this prison. Another punishment would be to be handed over to the "Queen of the Abyss". This would lead the person to the Abyss, a labyrinth in limbo from which no one has been able to get out once they've entered.

— For the sake of argument, let's add two more variables to our equation. Alejandro and Jack are part of this equation as well.

— What?!

He covered his ears and could see Anael's surprise from afar when he heard the scream from the other side of the phone.

Alejandro Maximiliano Ortiz De La Rosa? What is the son of one of the gods of the universe doing here?

— I don't know. But it's convenient that he's here. We will benefit greatly from his ability to map portals.

— I'm sure you don't know. What is he doing here?

Anael asked again. She got a small sigh from Khan on the other line.

— There's a good chance that the Gods of the Universe want to know what's going on.

— Damn it.

She cursed from the depths. This one ended up sitting on a pile of monster bodies with skin as dark as night and black veins.

Anael has the appearance of a girl of about 15-16 years old, standing about 1.47 in height. She had long black hair with some pink curls that bounced when the wind blew past her face. Her right eye was purple in color. Her left eye was a deep red.

She was currently near the city of Seattle. Seattle is a large city in the state of Washington, in the northwestern United States.

— Lucifer, he does have a lot of desire for attention.

— He's doing it. My Grimm is in a bad mood, Shekhinah and HaShem are even in a bad mood.

— That's the best thing I've heard in days to put them in that mood.

Khan listened as this one stood up. Then he heard her kick something very hard until it was torn off.

— Did you just decapitate a corpse?

— You really care about this Nigredo...

She realized: This was a trap to get him to tell her what kind of monsters they were.

— As always, being a sly fox.

— Huh? As a matter of fact, I didn't want to know what kind of monsters you were fighting against at all.

— Then what was the point of your question?

Khan made a blank face at her question, only to deflect it with another, not wanting to say anything that would make her get angry again.

— I'm going to get straight to the point, Anael, I need you to go to the state of California, to San Francisco to be exact.

Again, there was a little silence between the two of them, Anael already had a certain idea of where she would like to go with this.

— Who do I need to keep an eye on?

—  The Vshojo agency, but specifically I need you to focus on three of their former talents. I will send you information on each of them, I have a hunch that two of the Underground will be paying them a visit very soon.

Khan didn't have to be a genius to hear a tongue click on the other line.

The Underground was an elite force specifically chosen to serve the Black King with all manner of tasks, some of them swearing eternal allegiance to Lucifer in order to gain absolute power, or simply to watch the world fall apart while they enjoy the chaos and destruction.

The Underground also serve as scouts. They keep tabs on what other demons and the seven sins are doing while out of sight of the Black King.

— Tch! Of all the pests, it had to be the hounds of Lucifer.

Anael grumbled a bit, shrugging her shoulders, only to ignite some kind of dark fire in her hands.

— All right, just leave it all in my hands.

— Just one more thing.

Anael listened to Khan's voice on the other line and watched the bodies burn.

— They are both here, try not to make too many sudden movements.

— Roger!

Khan ended the call. He listened to Anael's last words only to activate his powers of observation again.

— We must move now. Otherwise, the future will be unpredictable.

He made his way in the direction they were all heading; on the way he ran into an Alvis and William who seemed to be talking about something.

Since he was not bothered by that, he told them to hurry. Khan wanted to check something with Naoto and Tanigo.

Upon their arrival at the hall, they were greeted by the strange sight of a huge, white-furred, blue-eyed lion in the hall.

Realizing that it was Shekhinah, Khan and Alvis recognized it immediately. William and Asher, on the other hand, were quite wary of this animal, as it was giving off a strange light energy that seemed to be bothering William in some way.

— You are late.

For all to hear, the lion commented telepathically.

— Excuse me, in contrast to someone else. My hands are full.

This caused the Lion to growl at him, getting annoyed.

— Hmp! You continue to joke as badly as you did before.

— Whatever you want to say.

Khan rolled his eyes at Shekhinah's comment, which made William a little curious, since he seemed to be acting like a child. In front of this creature that seemed to come from the heavens. They all looked at the holographic map that Vera was projecting. They were amazed to see how the red dots that covered most of the globe had diminished.

Fifty percent of them had mysteriously vanished.

— More than half of the monsters disappeared? But how?

Amelia asked incredulously, only to be teased by Shekhinah.

— Somethin' happenin', kitty.

Gura asked the lion, who could only mentally chuckle.

— It's a simple answer, Gawr Gura and Amelia Watson.

Amelia and Gura were surprised to hear their names come out of the animal's mouth. Even William was shocked.

— Do not be afraid, it is simply my blessing that allows me to know the things that I need to know.

The lion began to take a few steps forward and then circled around Khan for a moment.

— Why don't we just let the storyteller do his magic for us?

— Oh, really? No one calls me that anymore, not since my days as a novelist.

William was surprised by his comment, even though he had seen on his Wikipedia page that there had been a time when he had devoted himself to writing. But he gave it up for some mysterious reason. He assumed it must have been his work as an "observer".

Although, according to what Alvis told him when they were in the bathroom. The Observers hide some information due to a certain oath vow taken by the founders of the organization.

Since Khan is one of those founders, it makes sense that he would be bound by that oath, and once that oath is broken, he will lose his powers. He will lose his powers of observation. They will even take away the Chrono Clock, an artifact that allows him to travel to any universe and dimension that exists on the material plane.

— It's better this way. Don't you think?

Shekhinah continued to circle around him, which made Khan a little uncomfortable, and even the others could see his discomfort.

— All right, all right. I'll do it...

Snap.

Everything was in total darkness, while some kind of memory was in play, visible to everyone.

In this memory, there was a man in an abandoned temple who was in adoration and was asking his god for a favor.

A long time ago, there was a man who was in need of healing from a strange plague that had been on the rise at that time. He kept praying to God to know how to cure this plague.

Everyone was watching when what looked like a person came down from the sky, dressed in a pure white robe and surrounded by a heavenly aura. It asked him to raise his head and asked what he wanted to be done.

— "I wish to live, my Lord. I do not wish to die of this evil plague." The man replied, begging to be healed. But the White King refused and replied: "The flesh will not benefit my son as long as you live in it. You will go the way of death."

Everyone saw this as something cruel on the part of the person in the white robe. But their perspective changed. When they saw from the eyes of this heavenly being all that he had committed, robbery, rape, murder, and many other things, memories began to appear quickly. Asher and William were in shock until the memory stopped at a part where this man was. He was in the middle of a desperate scratching of the back of his neck.

— "I won't forgive you; I won't forgive you. You're an impostor! The Black King was right. He was damn right!" .... Ugh?!! Cof Cof Cof Cof Argh!" he repeated as he fell into the corruption of his own body from his impure deeds.

The faces of those present went blank. They were completely filled with fear as they saw this human being transform into a huge creature that began to destroy everything in its path.

— "This is why I told you: As long as you follow the path of the flesh, your spirit will follow the path of death." The White King commented as he watched the destruction and chaos caused by the monster that was once a man.

William could see this man, the White King, looking at this scene with great sadness. He made the difficult decision to send him to another place.

Strange hands began to emerge from a strange dark hole from which the monster could not escape, but the more they tried, the more hands began to sink him down, until he fell into that black hole, which closed completely once it had swallowed the monster.

— "Pardon me, my son, for now... You will have to pay for your sinful deeds in Tartarus," said the White King. Then he left, saddened to see the destruction caused by the man who had become a "sinner".

Once again, they all changed places. This time they found themselves in a place that seemed to be a kind of cliff overlooking the sea. Just to be able to see that man in the white robe, who was holding a small flash of white colored light in his hand.

— "I have spoken to them. They are spirits and they are life. As long as the mind is on the spirit, they will be blessed with peace and life" said the White King, giving life to the spirit of light always beside him.

Something wonderful happened in front of everyone. The Spirit of Light took on a human form, with beautiful long hair, white as snow, and blue eyes the color of the sky. Thanks to a robe given to him by the generous king, he hid his face.

Thus, was born the Spirit of Life, the one who manifested positive emotions. However... "You will be alone for a long, long time, I guess... I should give you a friend, my little son".

The man in the white robe was staring at a certain crow that was in one of the branches of a tree, William had a strange feeling, a very sinister feeling, when he saw the little bent man.

The man raised his hand to the crow, which approached him timidly. The man just stroked the small animal before he let it fly again and moved away from where they were. The man had borrowed one of the crow's feathers to dip in some kind of strange substance without the crow noticing.

William knew it better than anyone. It was Black Blood once the feather was in the strange substance. They all watched. This picturesque and beautiful place was plunged into a dark darkness.

A wave of dark energy began to surround everything until it revealed the appearance of a man with knee-length black hair, black hair that reflected no light. Also, glowing blood-colored eyes.

- "I am your Lord who creates the light and makes the dark." His Majesty commented, taking for granted the birth of the Spirit of Death. The one who would bring eternal torment to sinners.

The memory of it faded away, only for all of them to return to the room in which they were standing.

— Thus, this made it clear that it was THEY who did this.

Shekhiná spoke again after a few seconds and got Calli's attention.

— I find it hard to believe that the Spirit of Life is killing all of these people who have been corrupted by the Black Blood Syndrome.

— They don't.

Alvis answered Calli's question, who seemed somewhat surprised by the confidence with which he said it.

— Both respect their cycles, LIFE knows when it is fleeting, just as DEATH knows it's time. You of all people should know that, Shinigami apprentice.

His words were directed at Calli, who is a god of death. She realizes that for new life to be born, everyone must die at some point.

— Ah, yes... When this demon was immature, you met the BLACK, didn't you, Alvis Corvidius?

Asher was surprised by Shekhiná's comment, which made Alvis shiver all over.

— Don't remind me, I still remember the look in his eyes.

Alvis shook a little, trying to get rid of the shiver that didn't seem to want to go away.

—  Wait, they are LIFE and DEATH. Just because they came after you, doesn't that mean you should be dead?

Amelia asked with some curiosity, according to the memory they saw, they were created to represent the elements of Light and Dark. They were representations of the elements of light and darkness and the cycles of life and death.

—His simple and calm answer left most of them in shock. Except for Shekhiná and Khan, who already knew Alvis' history with the Dark One.

— But... For some reason, he let me live, and then he just walked away, leaving me beaten and broken.

William could tell that it sounded like he had fought this dark being from the way he described the last part. And from the sound of his voice, it sounded like he did a pretty good job of beating the crap out of it.

— Enough with the disturbance of the others, Shekhinah. We already know that the two of them are here and that they have done all of this.

Khan spoke again after a few minutes. Then he stared at the various places where the rest of the demons were.

— How are you so sure it was them?

Yagoo asked anxiously, for some reason he had a very bad feeling.

— Because I saw what was happening.

His words made everyone in the room widen their eyes. Especially Kronii and Amelia, who knew what he meant.

— Tanigo-san, as far as I know, you are looking for a Nephilim and a mysterious group of creatures that have escaped from a super-secret prison.

- You are right about that.

Yagoo replied as the sage decided to continue his monologue, while Khan sighed in relief.

— Agaliarep is on the move and so are his accomplices, we must make a plan now.

—  Wait, wait. What do you mean: They are moving? You mean: They're already acting without us noticing.

Kronii asked Khan, a bit curious, knowing he was using his sight.

— Rex, you can't smell anything right now, can you?

Khan watched the lycanthrope as he quickly tried to sniff out the scent of something or someone. Apart from everyone in the room, even his very sharp nose couldn't detect anything.

— No, my nose can't detect anything.

With his answer, he confirmed Khan's suspicion, who definitely did not see them at the moment. He was carrying a lot of things on his shoulders, future events he didn't want to share with anyone present.

Especially THAT, the most important thing of all.

— Stop beating around the bush.

Shekhinah pulled him out of his thoughts just to give everyone present a final warning.

— This shouldn't even be any of your business. It wouldn't even be the problem of the Special Gamut brat.

Shekhinah glanced at William, who was still not entirely comfortable with his presence in the room.

— I will leave this matter in your hands, Khan Crowe. Remember, the safety of all beings in this world is our first priority.

— I know that. But how are we supposed to protect all the civilians if you won't let us...

Khan was abruptly interrupted by the lion.

— You can use them, all of them, even the Hunter who is with the OLYMPUS.

The rest of Murakumo showed some relief when they heard the Lion's words, but not before he gave them one last warning.

— I remind you of only one thing. Dainsleifs are demons encased in weapons of all kinds, and those who are not accustomed to using them may suffer side effects.

William felt a shiver run down his spine as he listened to him talk about these weapons, as he spoke to each of those present.

— Blood loss, extreme fatigue, some even fell into comas and died after using them for just a few seconds.

There was an awkward silence in the room as the lion finished his small talk, only to let Khan continue.

— Well, we have permission to use the deadliest weapons in my universe. Now we move on, Motoaki-san and little Naoto, we need Spectre's help to find the Nephilim you seek.

Khan turned to Yagoo and Naoto, who seemed to understand what he was getting at, though not a few hours ago. They had alerted the Vshojo and Nijisanji CEOS to the dilemma they were in.

— Wait, Aniki, Spectre? You mean the very famous thief who was never caught?

Vera asked, keeping her eyes on Khan. Rex overheard the conversation and decided to join in, since he also knew a thing or two about her.

— I heard about her; they say she is actually a Vtuber of Vshojo.

— Yeah, right, no one can be that sneaky.

Moebius spoke next, and you could hear the sarcasm and suspicion in his words in front of this blissful thief named Spectre.

— Why did you choose her for this mission?

Naoto asked with curiosity, knowing full well that the Sage did not randomly choose people for certain tasks.

— I had confidence in her abilities and her travel companion... But I have a feeling that there will be problems on the way.

I mention in a certain thoughtful tone. I look at one of the possible routes to find this Nephilim.

— I think it would be good if we also split into two groups. One of us could follow the Nephilim, while the rest of us will have to search for this group of creatures that escaped from their cell.

Yuliana joined the conversation after a few seconds, only to get a smile from Khan.

— Good idea, cousin. However, I've already made some arrangements with someone, so we'll have reinforcements soon.

— Wait, who are we talking about?

— I don't like to ruin surprises.

A red spot appeared above Yuliana's head, who couldn't believe how childishly she had just said that sentence. William still wondered if this plan would work at all.

Especially since there were now many factors involved in the problem that had originally only affected Hololive.

— Well, we'll take your advice and split into groups.

Khan said these words after returning to a more serious tone.

— The Nephilim is in Kyoto, possibly in a Buddhist temple as far as I can see. Our next problem is that the bad guys have two people on the hunt.

His comment made Yanagi and Yagoo even more thoughtful, so much so that the two executives showed some concern.

— I want to look for it myself, but I need William, Moebius, and A to come with me.

Alvis was indifferent to his comment, although he already had an idea why he wanted him to go. William, on the other hand, still didn't understand why he wanted to include him in all his plans, although he knew that he wanted to keep an eye on him because of his special gamut, he shouldn't carry him around like a key ring.

Moebius, on the other hand, could only shrug his shoulders and try to hide his displeasure at having to work with not one, but two demons.

— That means we are going after this group of creatures that got out of prison.

Yuliana was the next to speak, only to be stopped by Khan in less than a second.

— No, my team has the upper hand here.

This made Yuliana frown, since none of the INVADERS except for Moebius were currently in custody. They did something relatively productive to help the rest of the team.

— Coincidentally, their escape door took them directly to Beijing, they are currently near the Forbidden City in China.

— That means Jenna and the others could make direct contact with them.

Tanigo asked Khan, who only nodded his head in confirmation.

— Yes, in fact, I already left them a message to look for something. Once they find it, they will confirm with Goy, who will let everyone know that they are now safe.

— Sounds good to me, what do you think Tanigo-san.

— As long as no one gets hurt, I am fine with it.

Tanigo commented with a much calmer smile on his face as the others continued to plan the rest of the plan. But before that, Khan had entrusted one last thing to Naoto and Goy himself, who was only present in a kind of pocket dimension, which was to send Brielle Corvidalus to the Murakumo Agency headquarters in Miami.

Unbeknownst to them, a small black and green fox was in the room, listening to their conversation unnoticed. This was one of the Prophets of the Umbra Sage, whose job it was to spy on the Murakumo Agency and inform Hans Bismarck of their movements and plans. The name of this little fox was Fox of the Dead, belonging to the Rubedo class in the Daemon hierarchy.

— It seems that this man, Khan Crowe. It is a problem, as the Grandmaster Agaliarep mentioned, his power is very similar to Orakel's, but much more advanced.

Fox commented these words while watching the movements of everyone present, although she was a bit stunned and a bit scared as the giant white lion was looking in her direction.

— ...

Shekhinah said nothing, just stared in the direction where Fox was standing.

— C-C-Can h-he s-see m-me?

There was a moment's hesitation, a shudder of fear when she saw that his eyes were still on her.But then she calmed down. He seemed to be looking at the corner of the wall next to her. Nothing, absolutely nothing.

And then...

Why did he seem to look into the void?

— What a relief I was afraid that he had seen me.

Fox continued to watch while Shekhiná looked away from the wall. The lion seemed to be looking up with its white fur, though it was not obvious.

In the same way that Fox could not be seen by Shekhiná. The little fox did not know that there was a man standing next to her. He was dressed in dark clothes and had a hood covering his face.

And he had his reddish eyes fixed on her, as if he wanted to analyze her from top to bottom. The fox, who could not see him, was not aware of the danger that was stalking her from a side that was very unfamiliar to her on the supernatural plane as well as on the material plane.

This entity was something that had no body, no soul, no name, and no purpose.

He was called by many nicknames in many different ways...

But one of the most popular of his nicknames?

It was.

"Death"
