Travon's POV

"Well-- then it's better if I leave your so-called perfect pack!"

I regretted getting angry, taking it out on her. The words seemed so simple leaving her mouth but it made Tyler howl in pain that I only felt when Mia left me.

She stormed out the kitchen, her bedroom door slammed close a few seconds later then I could hear her silent sobs.

I swear I wanted to bury myself 6fts under and never come out. I hit the table and walked away from the kitchen too.

I see everyone in the lounge, they look at me in anger, pain and pity. I know they've heard every single thing that just happened.

"I'm sorry you all had to witness that."

I don't wait for them to say something but just stride towards Hope's room. I had to say sorry. Again.

Once I'm standing infront of her door I knock, "Hope.. Hope, can we talk please?"

Silence--

"Hope, please just open the door please. Look, I know I messed up again I just don't want you to be involved in this Luna business right now."

I knock softly for the fifth time but still no response, almost as if there's no one in the room.

Curiosity finally kicks in so I open the door and slowly peep in.

It's really empty. Did she really leave?

I waste no time in searching the whole room, my eyes divert to the balcony. The door to it was wide open, I sniff the air and her scent weakens by the second.

I don't realize that I let a deadly growl out, I jump out and shift. Running as fast as I can to find my mate, she can be anywhere. No, I've to find her its too dangerous for her to be alone out here or anywhere as a matter of fact.

The wind starts to get rough and it starts to rain. At this rate I'll never get to her! Mindlink--

Nick?

Alpha-- we've a problem! We're under attack at the border.

Dammit!

Alpha, the leech escaped the dungeon.

The leech is lose, secure the house. And my kids, I'll look for Hope.

I curse the timing as I stretch my legs more towards Hope. I can't even ask warriors for help since they have to protect the border. I pray she doesn't get in trouble again.

Tyler barks as he smells a familiar scent, but can't quite make out. Then there's Hope's scent getting stronger as I reach the south part of the forest.

My mind freezes when I see a small wolf surrounded by rogues. I run to where they're circling her and growl deadly for their attention.

The rogues immediately turn their full attention towards me and snarl in disgust, so do I.

There are about five huge, ugly of them, they easily outnumbered me but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna put up a fight. Lucy looks at me with an afraid expression but I nod to ensure everything is under control.

I let out a deafening growl to alert my warriors for backup quickly to the south but I know they're gonna taking time to reach. So, I instinctively step back to lure them away from my mate and closer to my space.

One of the rogues who seems to be incharge growls and signals the others to surround me. They follow their leader, I've got to stall them somehow.

The first rogue launches himself from my far right in attempts to bite my leg but I step foward and scrape its stomach making him bleed and fall to the ground unconscious. The rest of them bark in anger and attack me from all direction at once, before I know it they are on top of me hungrily trying to injure me.

One of the rogues fly away right before it dug into my back. Lucy breaks its neck between her teeth without second thoughts. That's my girl.

I try to stand with three more rogues hanging onto me but fail and fall on the ground again. Not until I hear Hope whimper in pain, one of the rogue scratched her hind legs, she stays down in pain.

I let out another beastly growl and drop my weight on the two rogues hanging onto me, they slide off me. I swiftly get on my feet and tackle one of it towards the big tree and my claws finds its way to his neck, slicing it.

The leader was now stalking Lucy while one stood tall and angry infront of me. I have to save Lucy. And Hope.

Again the rogue scrapes my neck when I was glancing towards Lucy. Pain pierced through my chest when I realized it had pinned me down. Forgetting the wound I use my legs to kick it away from me.

The stupid rogue wasn't going to stay down so easily, it got up again and tried biting my neck. Instead I moved and it hit the tree behind me losing balance for awhile giving me just enough time to see Lucy from the corner of my eye. She was still fighting the leader, she's still alive. Good.

Just as I was about to reach for my opponents neck I hear a bone break. Shit! Hope!

A loud cry follows it and I felt my blood boil, without wasting time I hit the rogue. Left! Right! Push him back but it just won't die.

Then I feel something inside me switch off, like someone had switched my humanity off.

Mate. Something has happened to mate! Tyler screamed in agony, I turn to look at her and find her on the ground yet again, naked, in human form. In a pool of blood.

Tyler howls in pain then turns back to his opponent with his eyes as black as night.

I jumps in the mid-air catching the rogue off-guard and land on top of him. My claws dig into its flesh revealing blood and its heart. The rogue whimpers in pain and I look straight into its eyes and rip his heart out.

I hear another bone break, this time it was the leader of the group of rogues. I see a familiar black and white wolf holding its neck. Steve.

Shifting back I rush towards my mate, Steve beats me to it. He was checking her pulse when I growled at him. He looks surprised when he sees my eyes were glossy with tears. I was actually about to cry.

He understood she's my mate so he steps back and let's me pull Hope to my chest trying my best to hide her from any other males gaze.

"Hope, I'm so s-sorry! Please open your eyes." I plead removing the hair covering her face.

"Travon, you need to get her to the clinic."

My heart was beating frantically, I couldn't help but let out a muffled sob. I didn't want to lose another mate.

"Travon, she's bleeding. We need to get her to the clinic right now!"

I pick her up and start running like I've never ran before, Levi met me halfway and insisted he carry her since he was faster and not injured. He did run twice as fast and I followed behind him.

Sara covered Hope up and passed me a pair of shorts when we reached home. Within minutes the doctor came and I felt relieved.

"Travon, your chest looks pretty ugly," Lisa complains and I realize I was bleeding too but I'll heal fast since I'm an Alpha so I don't bother.

I wait outside my mates room for the doctor to come out, I was hating every second of this torture.

The door finally opens and Dr.Andy comes out, if the situation wasn't so serious I would have never allowed a male doctor attending my mate while she's naked.

"She's out of danger. Just some blood loss and broken rib, she's lucky to have survived a concussion."

I exhale in relief and lean against the wall and just slide down. Thank the moon goddess. My eyes were getting heavier and heavier... The doctor was saying something but everything was unclear-- broken.

"Travon-- ... need res--.. poison..--"

I just close my eyes because I was too exhausted from all the happenings from the whole week. I feel so sleepy... Last thing I see is Steve standing infront of me before everything blackouts.
