Travon's POV

I run as fast as I could when Ian-- my Beta reported a rogue attack. Everyone in country knew that the rogue pack and warrior pack were enemies and it will remain that way.

Craig-- the alpha of the rogue pack was a murderer. He was also part of my mates death. My sweet Mia, her face still vivid in my memories. How she begged me to let her-- I push away her thoughts as Ian approaches me with a group of guard warriors.

"Alpha, the rogues attacked the southern guards while trying to enter our territory. Our warriors were able to defend bravely but they escaped."

"Any death?"

"Fortunately no, just some minor injuries. They will heal."

I felt satisfied, maybe because I was tired of the bloodshed and the sad families. Their eyes haunt me every second.

Ian stays silent for a while, mindlink. Then a confused expression takes place, "What is it?" I ask without delay, I hate suspense.

"Alpha there was something strange. One of the guard claims that a leech was present along with the rogues."

A leech?

"I will check that out, take the warriors and secure the border. Make sure no one leaves the pack."

He bows and disperses with his group. I go behind a tree, taking off my clothes I shift. Tyler-- my wolf is glad to be let out. He is a huge wolf with silver fur and is feared across the nation.

People don't know that Tyler is the dominating one, he is the one courageous wolf. I like him alot but then we all have our bad side too. Tyler is a monster, he has killed countless people and will continue to kill to protect our family.

That I will do. Our family is our world, don't ever forget.

Whatever Ty, I know my children are my world.

I said family. Meaning our second mate, Hope too.

I ignore him and run towards the southern border. A sickening stench hit my nostrils, Tyler alert as ever starts sniffing if there were leaches still present. As I walk carefully to examine where the attack happened but a whimper averts my attention towards the woods.

I sprint towards the source and find a leech standing over a beautiful small wolf. Hope?

The bloodsucker reaches down and grabs her neck, and at the very moment Tyler loses his temper. All I could see was red now.

Hope's POV

I knew I shouldn't have left the house now I have to pay the price with my life. My vision starts to blur a the vampire gets hold of my neck, lifting me above the ground.

I should have listened to Travon's order, but I felt uneasy so I decided to make sure he was safe. How stupid of me, ofcourse he's safe. He is perfectly capable of protecting himself.

Well, it's too late now. I'm sorry, Lu.

I glare at the bloodsucker as he laughs at my helplessness, "You should have stayed with your pack, stupid mutt!"

Before he could say something else a deadly growl catches our attention.

I stare at Travon's wolf who now had bloodshot eyes. I knew they meant business, oh boy.

He slowly positions himself before launching himself on the leech, I fell to the hard ground. Lucy whimpered in pain, Tyler was trying to get the leech off his back when vampire sank his canines in Tyler's back, he howled in pain.

Lucy got off the ground, now she was determined to killed this vampire. Taking a step back then I run with all my might tackling the vampire off our mate's back and pinned to the ground. Before I could tear his head off a group of men appear stopping me. A tall, guy with light brown skin bowed, "Luna, this leech will be very useful to us. Spare him, please."

Lucy did not agree, she wanted to end this abomination right there but I knew he was valuable for information, so I get off him and the men take charge.

Then I remember our mate! He is injured, Lucy starts licking his face and Tyler does the same to ensure he was okay. But I knew that a vampire bite on a werewolf was poisonous, I turn towards the other men for help. "I'm Ian Knight, Luna. Don't worry about Alpha, we'll takecare of it. You should head back and get clothed. We will bring Alpha, I promise." says the guy who stopped me. I stay glued beside Travon, Lucy places her paws on Tyler possessively not wanting anyone else to see our mate.

Travon's bones start breaking and he transforms back to human form unwillingly. He was butt naked, Lucy growled at the warriors staring at our mate. And a soft laughter escapes our mate seeing this.

Ian covers the lower part of his body, Travon was now cover in sweat. An ugly black slowly appeared on his back near to canine mark the vampire had left.

I gasped in fear, he reached for Lucy with his large hands and strokes her fur soothingly. Sparks run through my body but fear overtook it as he stops when the pain increases. I watch as the blackening spreads out even more. "Alpha, we need to get you to the doctor," Ian says as he bends down to help our mate up. Ian gives me a smile and vanishes with Travon.

I stood there for awhile trying to register what happened. How did my mate get injured? Is he gonna be okay?

I sprint away, feeling foolish and scared now. If I hadn't left the house the leech wouldn't have found me and Travon wouldn't be hurt. Arghh!

If only I had listened for once.
