Chapter 10
On the Tuesday that week, Cindy attended class.
"Hey, you didn't show up yesterday?" Amber, along with her cronies walked up to her desk.
"So?" Cindy remarked.
"You alright?" Diana asked, scrunching up her nose. She probably sniffed the rancid smoke on her.
"Yes, better now." Cindy replied.
When the lunch bell rang, a heated debate began between Amber and Zeke. Was it Batman or Joker that was stronger? Ross, Amber and Diana agreed that Batman was the epitome of goodness and he represents a balanced human being. Zeke, Rose and Cindy agreed that Joker was clever and more realistic, his character only being a representation of what humanity is really like.
She was lost in conversation when two familiar faces, sitting in the distance on the grass caught her gaze. She excused herself from the debate and paced to them. She wrapped her hands around her favorite man when she felt a sharp sting on her bosom. "Ow, not here!" she turned to Dabi.
"Why not?" He smirked cheekily.
"It's university alright. This is my last year and I don't want anything to go wrong." She raised a finger at him. He let out an exasperated sigh.
"I am on my way to lunch, is there anything urgent you came by for?" She was willing to jog to lunch.
"Yea, let's discuss this over food." Hawks wrapped an arm around her shoulder and Dabi slid his hand under the hem of her skirt. "Ow!" She whispered when a tight squeeze was felt on her ass. Dabi smirked ever so slightly.
The cafeteria eyed the villains tail her to lunch, buy food and walk out to the garden, under the shade of a tree. Amber and Zeke were a part of the audience.
"Why do you have to make it awkward like that?" Cindy elbowed Dabi in the chest.
"Why hide the reality?" He retorted.
"Not here," Cindy leaned and whispered, giving him a glare.
"The truth will reveal itself one fucking day" He leaned back on the trunk of the tree.
"I have to agree with him on that one" Hawks lifted his arms behind his head to lean back on the tree trunk, revealing how his shirt hugged his body.
"That's why we it's time to become legit" Dabi put an arm around Cindy and it sent a shiver down her spine.
"Legit?" Cindy turned to Hawks for a response. He was busy admiring a group of girls walking to the cafeteria.
"Get the mark and move away from this hell hole." He traced the side of her neck to her jawline. "And of course," he brought a thumb to her lower lip, "stay with us."
Cindy's heart jumped and she pushed him away. "You can't force me," She peeled the wrapper further on her shawarma. "I will decide if I want to. Until then, I want to finish university, get my degree and earn some money."
Dabi chuckled. "But babe," he stroked her cheek, a hint of sneer in his voice. He never used that word with her. Cindy slapped his hand away but he firmly held her wrist.
"Will that make you any richer?" He looked straight at her. She gulped. "And what about those lady lumps," he eyed her breasts. "Will they be tucked away in those tight formals for eternity when they're supposed to be free?" He let go of her hand waiting for a response.
"I will choose what I want!" She raised her voice at him. Hawks quickly excused himself from the conversation that interrupted his view of some certain hot babes.
"Admit it. No one here will ever appreciate that crazed, oversexed and lustful show-" She quickly covered her palm around his lips, "Sh!"
She felt his tongue on her palm which made her recoil. She wiped the saliva on her skirt. His lips curled into a crooked smile when he knew he had triumphed their little quarrel.
"Think about it," he rose from the grass, dusting his jeans. "Keep lying and the reality will bite back" He sunk his hands into his pockets and scanned the area for Hawks.
