Chapter-9

"Sometimes revealing a hidden truth can be more dangerous than a nuclear weapon attack"
✿♡

Enclosed in her dad's embrace Song Yi stood still with no expressions on her face, she didn't hug him back either.

With her dad's sight and touch, she was reminded of all the horrifying scenarios that she saw in her nightmare.

Thoughts of her dad killing her mother were floating around in her mind. She felt disgusted and broke the hug.

As she shrugged her dad's hands off her body, his swollen eyes caught her attention.

His eyes turned red and were filled with tears to the brim that'd flow out any second, his body grew weak and pale, he looked as if he was really worried.

"Where were you Song Yi, my child?" he asked in a soft tone.

Song Yi was taken aback, 'did he just call me, my child?'

After thinking for about a moment she answered him, "I was sleeping so I didn't hear you calling me"

"Are you being honest? Were you really sleeping?" he asked while scanning her from top to bottom and pointing at her clothes.

She was still wearing Hoseok's tshirt and pjs.

"Yes I was sleeping.. and.. and don't shower your fake love and care on me now" somehow managing to utter those words out with confidence, Song Yi stepped back and slammed the door shut.

_______

Her dad's pov/

Song Yi was definitely lying, I can see right through her... But why is she lying to me? She never did so before.

I was continuously knocking on her door and calling out her name, there's no chance that she didn't hear me even if she was sleeping.

What is she hiding from me?

Her mother was like this too, secretive.

Song Yi should not create that mess again! I don't want my child to become like her mother.

From now onwards, I'll keep a check on her whereabouts.

__________

With her back sticking to the door, Song Yi sat down trying to hold back the tremors running down her body.

Even thou her window was open and her room was filled with fresh air, she felt uneasy and short of breath.

Coughing and choking on her own saliva she stood up and flashed her head out of the window to suck air into her lungs.

Through her nostrils she tried to inhale as much air as possible at a time while coughing in between her breath.

After a few moments her breathing rate came back to normal.

She sat on her desk admiring a picture which was covered with a beautiful glass frame.

In the picture Song Yi was hugging an old woman who looked warm and was smiling endearingly forming wrinkles near the corner of her lips and eyes.

"Halmeoni I miss you" she whispered softly.

Warm tear drops rolled down her cheeks as her mind was filled with the memories of her grandmother.

Song Yi's grandmother was the only one whom she loved dearly.

When she was young, she used to stay at her grandmother's house during her summer vacations while her stepmom, dad and Yeo Na spent their vacations together in different countries every year.

Her grandmother was the only source of pure motherly affection for her.

As time flew by, her grandmother's health was retrograding and hence Song Yi stopped staying at her house since it'd bring her granny more work load.

______

"Lee Song Yi! Appa wants you to come down and have your breakfast" Yeo Na's sharp voice pierced her cloud of sweet memories.

Song Yi sighed and got up to open the door only to see Yeo Na with a disgusted expression on her face.

"I'm your unnie! Aren't you meant to give me some respect? How can you yell my name like that?"

"As if I care" Yeo Na rolled her eyes.

"Tell appa that I'm not hungry" Song Yi said while sighing.

"I'm not your servent! Go tell him by yourself, also why is he concerned about you all of a sudden? What did you do, huh?" she snapped at her.

"I don't know either, ask your dad to be concerned about his favourite Yeo Na and leave me alone!" Song Yi yelled at her and slammed the door on her face.

Yeo Na was shocked by this sudden change in Song Yi's behaviour.

"What do you think you are? A queen? No honey, you are nothing more than a trashy can!" Yeo Na yelled fiercely at her door and left with heavy steps.

With tears in her eyes, Song Yi sat and tried to calm herself down.

"What's wrong with me.. since the moment I came here I feel a little uneasy.. I can't believe I misbehaved with appa and yelled at Yeo Na like this.. I must clear all this confusion in my mind..." Song Yi muttered to herself.

She grabbed her phone and dialed a number.

"Song Yi" a surprised but weak voice was heard from the other side.

"Halmeoni!" Song Yi was overwhelmed to hear her grandmother's voice.

"How have you been my child?" she asked, her voice still shaking.

"I'm fine halmeoni, how is your health? Your voice sounds so weak, are you not taking rest properly?"

"I see.. my little Song Yi is all grown up now, worrying about her halmeoni" she answered in a sweet tone while coughing in between.

Song Yi and her grandmother giggled at eachother.

"Halmeoni is it okay if I ask you something?" Song Yi asked in a worried tone.

"Sure my princess, you can ask me anything" she assured her.

"How did eomma die?"
