As far as I could remember, I had always had the most vivid dreams. I head at least one each night, and sometimes up to four. One of my therapists had assumed this was just my way of dealing with my emotions. And after the past few weeks, I was ready to believe it.

This whole magic thing had definitely had an impact on me. I could see how I was sinking back into old habits. Spending more time alone. Taking more medication than prescribed. Numbing myself in any way I could. And the dreams... They just wouldn't stop.

I'd made a habit of keeping a dream journal several years ago, occasionally flipping through it to laugh at the stuff my brain could come up with. But the dreams had gotten darker, scarier. Filled with magic. At first, I thought I was simply afraid of the unknown. So I buried myself in books, trying to find as much as I could, practicing as many spells as humanly possible. I still couldn't achieve the patronus charm though. Draco had tried to reassure me, telling me he himself was not able to produce one.

After burning myself out being cramming so much information in my brain, I had fallen back into the stillness that characterised my down periods. Only this time, it seemed harder to get out of. Like I was starting to feel things again. And the dreams weren't getting any lighter.

I had just woken up and was still panting, feeling like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I could barely remember my dream. I know that I was being chased by someone, or something. That I was running as fast as I could. This was a recurring theme, someone trying to murder me, and having to run for my life, or hide wherever possible.

I jumped at the sound of Draco's voice. "Are you okay?" I turned to see his face, looking at me worryingly. His face was far too pretty to be damaged with worry lines so early. I gave him a small smile, snuggling up against his bare torso and humming lowly. "Hmmhmm, just another nightmare. No big deal." I felt his left arm wrapping up around my back, stroking it slightly. "What was it about?" I shrugged, nestling up closer against him. "Can't really remember... Just know I was running."

We stayed silent for a bit, until he spoke up, his voice lower than usual. "I could... help you remember?" I raised my head from his torso and looked at him questioningly. "I could use legilimency..." I remembered the name from one of the books, the ability to read into one's mind. That's one the realisation hit me, and I immediately gave him a horrified look. "Please, please tell me you haven't been reading my mind this whole time."

His silence only made it worse. I sat up in a hurry, feeling completely and utterly embarrassed at the thought of what he could have seen. "Don't worry, I never dug deep. I'd never do that to you. The small stuff, thoughts that just come and go, these I can't help but hearing." I nodded, gradually calming down. "But if you want to I can try to remember your dream for you."

I considered it for a second, and before I could even speak Draco answered my doubts. "I promise I won't look for anything else while I'm there." My eyes snapped back to him angrily "Stop. Reading. My. Mind. Without. Asking." Draco rolled his eyes dramatically in return before running a hand through his messy hair, clearly upset. "I don't need to read your mind to know what you're thinking. Believe it or not but I'm pretty sure I've gotten close enough to you to be able to that in the past three and something months."

I knew I had hurt his feelings as soon as he had finished speaking. Because of the way I wasn't able to really decipher my own feelings, I had somehow been blind to the way he was very obviously feeling about me. He was caring, more than anyone had ever been towards me. He was always there, more than I was for him. I felt an overwhelming sense of guilt washing over me in an instant, and I was soon reaching towards his face, brushing a strand of white hair behind his hear.

"I'm sorry Draco. I've been a bitch." As he leaned into my hand, I pulled him closer to me. "It's alright, you've been going through a lot." He was still so kind, even if I'd hurt him. I bit my lip before nodding slowly. "Yeah, but you shouldn't be paying the price. Sorry." He shook his head before leaning away from me, towards the bedside table to grab his wand. "Don't worry about it. Do you me to help then?" I nodded slowly once again, not too sure what to expect.
