37 : Plan No.2
When Evangeline asked Trudy about a good beauty salon, Trudy thought her friend would do everyone a favor and finally get her hideous nails done, not cut her hair.
Evangeline loved her silky hair, and if Trudy was being kinda honest, it sort of suited her too. When Evangeline showed up at her mansion that day with a new hairstyle, Trudy thought two things - one, how jealous she was because it looked so good on her, and two, how the hell did the weak and fragile Evangeline grow the balls to cut her hair this short; it barely reached her neck!
Trudy didn't let the pang of envy to ruin her mood in the early morning. She just had herself the best sleep in so long, not having to roll in her bed, desperately chasing for her somber only for her to be horrified with her graphic nightmares. The first thing she did after she woke up was open the curtains and stretch her body under the marvelous sunshine she would have otherwise hated. Suddenly, all her sister's talk about positive energy and fengshui made all the sense in the world - she could feel the good vibes twirling in her body and killing all the bad ones.
Trudy had a long shower in which she shaved her body, then she proceeded to pluck her eyebrows and mustache off and paint her nails a bright red color, although she wanted all of that to be professionally done. Unfortunately though, Eva refused having a spa day, and Trudy was too lazy to walk down the street to On Fleek Salon. Besides, it wasn't like she'd be able to get an appointment in such a short notice because Lauren - that bossy bitch! - was so keen on preserving her tight lame-ass schedule.
Trudy's favorite employee there was Tiffany. Trudy wasn't sure if Tiffany was a female or a male, but once Tiffany got her hands on anyone, she did magic. Tiffany was the best at everything beauty related - be it hair, makeup, nails, or even massages.
Even though Trudy had to take care of her own self instead of paying someone to do it, she didn't really care. Trudy was still feeling giddy over what happened with her sister, despite Sandra ignoring her for some strange reason. Trudy didn't let it get to her - she's probably stressing over some homework because she couldn't get a certain design right or something.
Sandra studied fashion in the Leonardo da Vinci Institue For Art And Design which was about a twenty minute drive out of Dessertville. That institute just happened to be among the best ones in the country and a very, very expensive and private one, which made it popular among the rich only and hidden from the commoners. Studying in such a facility was definitely not an easy thing to do, especially since the students had to make their own fashion show in order to graduate, so Trudy was aware of the pressure on Sandra's shoulders and decided not to hold it against her.
Trudy and Evangeline were in Trudy's bedroom. Evangeline sat on the bed with Trudy, her hazel eyes vulnerable. "Does it look good?"
Trudy shrugged. "It doesn't look horrible," she offered, lying to the gorgeous girl. She didn't want to feed Eva's self-esteem with complements, but there was something added to her because of this new hair. Trudy didn't know what it was exactly, but Evangeline was definitely rocking it.
"Guess who I saw on my way here," Eva swiftly changed the subject. Eva was shaking her head, her palms pressed against her lap. Trudy could detect the repressed tears and pain, Eva stopping her fingers from fiddling with the hair she no longer had. Trudy wanted to investigate the matter because she was curious, but she also was in a good mood and she didn't want it ruined. Therefore, Trudy dropped the subject and refrained from asking Eva anything starting with why the hell she was fiddling with a horrendous grey beanie.
Trudy shrugged, picking at her pretty, fingernails. "Who?"
"Hunter." Eva's hazel eyes widened, her delicate mouth ajar in awe. "Hunter Adams."
"So?" Trudy persuaded her plump lips, her forehead grimaced. "Why should I care?"
"Because he was crying, Trudy." Eva was so amazed at that fact for some reason.
"Oh, please, don't tell me you believe his alligator tears." Trudy felt like she was dragging herself as well. "He's a major player, he'll do anything to get what he wants which is collecting as much STDs as possible - ugh, he's so disgusting."
Trudy picked her phone in her pretty hands, losing interest in the conversation. She didn't want to talk about Hunter Adams because he was such a poor wannabe disguised among the popular as a rich kid. Trudy hated him because he was one of those thirsty intruders for the lush life they would never have, despite Hunter hiding it so well. Hunter did throw some iconic parties that had people talking about them for weeks after, but that was only because he was a drug dealer - not to mention he was involved in my drugging incident! It was settled, Trudy loathed him.
Trudy's skilled thumbs moved over the large screen of her golden iPhone, having one task; regain her throne in popularity. Her brain cells were working again as she threatened, blackmailed, and leaked the dirt on the doomed who spread the rumors about her and the video from the party of Zarek hitting Justin that went viral in their town. Getting back at her enemies made Trudy feel refreshed - no, alive, and Trudy couldn't believe she had been sulking for the past while. It was such a waste of time, and this was so much fun anyways.
The strong independent Trudy was officially back.
"We haven't seen each other in a week," Eva stated, an unusual edge to her tone, "And I can see you missed me because you're all over me."
Trudy lifted her eyes to Eva, a surprised eyebrow up. "Did you just use sarcasm with me?"
Eva shrugged her shoulders. "I guess,"
Trudy sighed and abandoned her phone on the nightstand. "If you want my attention, talk about important things. Start off by telling me why you cut your hair."
Trudy wasn't a fool. Eva's hair meant so much to her sentimentally, it was her shield from the shyness. Besides, Eva was acting weird and shady over the whole ordeal, fueling Trudy's suspicions. Eva confirmed these suspicions when she started crying, her hands covering her face as her fragile body shook with her sobs.
Trudy wanted to comfort her only friend - she didn't want to be like her cold sister - but at the same time, she had no idea how. Trudy rubbed Eva's back awkwardly as Trudy hyperventilated about what might be the reason. "You're being dramatic, which means it's bad." Trudy gasped, cringing away. "Did you catch lice or something? If you did, you better tell me right now, Eva, I'm not even kidding."
Eva lifted her head, her soaked eyelids breaking Trudy's heartless chest. "N-no," Eva whimpered, hiccuping over her frantic gasps for air, "It w-was Z-Zarek."
Trudy's calculating gaze examined Eva. "Is this your way of getting over him?"
"I wish," Eva buried her face in her palms, muffling her words. "He cut it."
Trudy almost tripped as she jumped to her feet. Her hands pulled her hair from its roots, her brown eyes could have been mistaken for a poisonous snake's eyeballs. "What?" she hissed, having no doubt that Zarek would actually do it, "That motherfucker!"
Eva flinched under Trudy's burst, making Trudy regret her anger. She closed her eyes, silencing the lethal voices in her head, and took a deep breath. She sat back on the bed, a hardset snarl on her diamond-shaped face as she pestered Eva to tell her everything from her encounter with Wendy to Ashton dropping her off. Once Evangeline finished blabbering her mind, Trudy was livid.
"That bitch, I swear to god, I want to kill him." Trudy raged, pressing her narrowed jaw so she wouldn't scream in frustration and scare Eva more than she already was. "He has no right to do that - he's such a dick, ugh!"
Trudy had always shipped Eva and Zarek - be it Erek or Zareva or any other shipname - regerdeless of her previous plans to hurt Eva because they balanced each other. Trudy was sure that Zarek had some type of feelings for Eva. It was almost adorable whenever Zarek seeked Eva's attention - ridiculous, yes, but still cute. Lately, it had turned from cute to concerning, and from ridiculous to desperate. Zarek didn't just seek Eva's attention anymore, he craved it. Zarek stepped out of the line for too many times before, but this - luring her into an abandoned cafeteria, tapping her to a chair, cutting her hair, and stealing her first kiss - was just too far, even for Zarek.
Despite her anger at Zarek, Trudy couldn't deny feeling responsible for Zarek's actions because she played a huge role in forcing Eva and Zarek to be together and it backfired, obviously. Trudy hated herself for that. Evangeline was her only friend, she had been by her side in her darkest days, so there was no way in hell would Trudy let anyone walk away unharmed from hurting Evangeline.
Trudy wasn't as calculating as her sister, she wouldn't use pity or guilt. Trudy would use violence and pain because that was fast, efficient, and satisfying - that was what revenge was really about, anyways.
"Okay, here's what's gonna happen," Trudy offered, her calm tone contradicting the glint in her crazy eyes, "I'm gonna call some of Sanderson's friends and they will jump him at night and beat the shit out of him, that'll teach the bastard not to mess with you."
"No," Eva pleaded, horrified. She was probably shocked at her friend's evilness, never witnessing this wicked side of Trudy before. "Don't do that, Trudy, I don't want him hurt."
"Why?" Trudy snapped. There she was, giving Eva the revenge she wished to have, and Eva was rejecting her help. "He doesn't seem to have a problem constantly hurting you, so why should you?"
"Because I'm not like him," Eva fired back despite her tears. "I won't be like him. I'd hate myself forever if I did. Zarek cried, according to Ashton. The guilt in an enough punishment."
Uh-oh, not again with the guilt shit. Still, Trudy contemplated on Eva's words - if my technique won't work, then Sandra's will. Trudy locked her determined eyes, a smirk tugging at her big lips. "Alright, we don't have to hurt him to get back at him."
Eva wiped her tears with the sleeve of her ZARA sweatshirt - ew! - and looked at her best friend with hopeful eyes. "What do you have in mind?"
"One thing about Zarek; he is possessive as fuck." Trudy smiled, resembling a psycho, "We're going to use that against him."
"What do you mean?" Eva was too captured to flinch at Trudy's profanities. "You want him jealous? How's that gonna help?"
"Exactly, Eva, it won't." Trudy's eyes widened in that scary, sinister way, too satisfied with her plan. "We're gonna get you a boyfriend. I don't know who yet, maybe Ashton? He's leaving in a month anyway, right? It'll be totally believable since you've always been rumored to be together - oh my god, Zarek will be so pissed!"
"Ashton?" Eva shook her head, her tears staining her twitched lips. "No, I don't want a relationship; mom will literally kill me. Besides, if Zarek thinks I'm with someone he'll never go near me again."
"Isn't that what you want?" Trudy narrowed her neat eyebrows. "I don't understand you, Eva," Trudy carried on, even though what Eva was doing to Zarek was too similar to how Trudy was handling Justin. "How can you let Zarek step all over you? Why are you letting yourself be treated like that? You deserve better, Eva." Trudy slipped, pouring her heart out a little too much. She didn't regret it like she had anticipated - quite the opposite, it felt so right to tell those sincere words to Eva.
"Unless..." Trudy took a step away from her friend, making sense of situation. "Oh my god, you still have feelings for him. After everything he did, you still love him, don't you?"
Eva thought for a second before she shook her head, her hair too short for it to bounce around like it usually did. "It doesn't matter anymore. I just want him out of my life, and if having a fake relationship with Ashton will do, then so be it."
Trudy smiled then - she had once made a plan about Eva. Trudy was currently plotting yet another plan over Eva, only the goal this time wasn't destroying her, but getting her life back together instead.
