The blue haze expanded until it was roughly the same size as the previous one the other group had come through before. Out stepped a young black man, around 14, with an afro, and a pair of black jeans and a blue hoodie which had the words; Stark Industries printed in white. Next to him was an Asian girl with jet black hair and a black hoodie with a red-black widow symbol printed on the front and back, not unlike Cassidy's. The duo stepped out of the portal, "Sam! Reggie! How have you two been?!" Cassidy said as she hopped over to the two people who had appeared. The Avengers just stared with their weapons pointed at the intruders.

"Pretty good, thanks Cass," Reggie answered as he casually strolled forward to Loki, ignoring Clint's notched arrow aimed at his head, Natasha's gun aimed at his chest, Steve holding his shield awkwardly, and Tony's repulsers also aimed in his general direction, while Thor was simply just starting and Bruce inched away from the intruder. (pls tell me someone understood that reference) "What happened to him?" He asked with a frown as he stared at the unconscious young god. Before the said question could be answered though, Tony cut in abruptly; "Hang on kid, who the frick are these people and why the frick are they in my house!?" Cassidy frowned; "I thought you guys knew them already." Tony scoffed; "If we already knew who they were kid, then we wouldn't be pointing our weapons at them."

Reggie finally looked up, glancing at all the ammunition pointed at him; ". . . Oh, uh. . . " He raised his hands slowly in surrender; "Cassidy, this is the part where you pull a fast one and get us out of here." He hissed at her, desperation laced in his tone. Cassidy only sighed. "Guys, put down your weapons." She said, exasperated. "And why should we?" Natasha said, her voice devoid of emotion now. "I'll explain everything, just put down the weapons." "Not until you tell us who the random kids ar-" Tony said, but was cut off abruptly by Jarvis, who spoke up; " I'm sorry to interrupt you, sir, but it appears a plane has flown above the tower, and there appears to be a man about to jump off, sir."

Everyone looked worryingly at the ceiling, minus Cassidy, Reggie and Samantha, who only sighed, exasperated. "Did the man jump yet, J?" Cassidy asked. "Yes, miss. Bel- Cassidy. He is now declining towards the tower at an alarming rate. Around 120 mph by my calculations." Jarvis reported. Tony jumped to his feet and got his iron man suit on again, which was standing conveniently on the ground beside his bed. "Is there enough time to save him, J?" Tony asked tensely. "I'm afraid not, sir." The A.I replied solemnly. "Well, I gotta try," Tony mumbled before he fired the boosters and hovered off the ground, but Cassidy quickly stopped him with a burst of telepathy, freezing him mid-hover. "What the hell, kid! Let me go!" The billionaire said as he tried to get out of the magical force field, but his results were in vain.

"It's ok, I'll just get him myself," Cassidy said, her tone oddly irked. "Oh, right, ma- magi-. Never mind, you know what I mean." Tony said with a shudder. Cassidy snapped, and a gold portal materialized in the ceiling, showing the bright blue, cloudless sky of New York. A distant yell was heard, and an instant later, a man dressed in red and black, with 2 katanas attached to his back, fell from the ceiling. He landed on the floor with a thud and a horrid 'crunch' sound was heard as his ribs broke, probably puncturing a lung or two. Pepper gasped as the man fell from to the floor, while Happy and the rest of the Avengers only gaped in shock. "You were supposed to save him! Not leave him like a pancake on the floor!" Tony shrieked, anger evident in his tone.

Cassidy sighed. "Don't worry, he'll be fine." As if announcing that, the mysterious man came back to life, standing up as if falling out of a plane and landing on the floor through a portal was the most normal thing in the world. "Hey Cassidy, how ya been?" He asked enthusiastically. "Fine, Deadpool," Cassidy said monotony. "I wish Gwenpool existed as a cinematic universe character right now, though." She mumbled as she made her way to stand beside the other girl, Samantha, who hadn't spoken or even moved at all. "See, he's fine," Cassidy said as Tony gave her an agitated look, well she couldn't see since his faceplate was still up, but she assumed he was at least glaring at her right now. "Ooo, who's that?" Deadpool questioned as he made his way to the bed.

Cassidy waved her hand and a gold barrier appeared, shielding the Asgardian from the superhuman. "Hey!" He said ah he faceplanted into the wall, inside the dome, the word was repeated; "Hey! Cassidy! No, No! You can't lock me in here? I don't know how to take care of unconscious people! You and I both know how awful the other time went!" Reggie yelled, panic in his voice. "Don't worry, I'm not asking you to heal him silly. Besides, the last time was truly horrid. Just make sure the spider-man-wannabe doesn't touch him." Cassidy replied calmly. The girl beside her moved suddenly, flashing rapid signs with her hands, which Cassidy answered with hand signs of her own.

"Is she . . . " Tony trailed off, not wanting to finish the question. Cassidy paused, then signed the other girl a question, to which she nodded her head and signed back. "Yes, she's deaf." Clint inhaled sharply, a hand hovering above his ear, but he quickly lowered it. "Ok, but uh. Skipping the uncomfortable explanations bit, we were going to go get Yelena, right?" Natasha nodded sharply. Cassidy smiled, a bit too widely. "Then I'll go . . . and be back with your sister! Also, Thor, I'll finish the explanation when I get back. Coolsies, coolsies?" A few people nodded, and Cassidy waved her hand. Tony, Iron man suit and all fell to the floor. He landed with a 'clang', almost like an overly loud tin can had called to the floor, which in a way, it had.

"Ok, yeah. Yep. Cool. Bye!" Cassidy said, a few people waved, mainly Pepper, and in a flash of light, she disappeared.

'0-'0-'0-

She landed in a dark room, luckily she had watched the Black Widow movie enough times to know where the Red Room was, aka a floating base in the sky. Ominous red lights glowed from the ceiling, causing everything to have an eerie crimson glow. She personally was glad the lights weren't green though. She remembered once, she'd stared at green Led lights for too long, and everything became disoriented and pink-tinged, which would be awful in a mission like this. She crept, and by crept she meant sneakily teleport, to the rooms where the Black Widows would be kept. She muttered a spell that made her invisible, thankfully that the spell also cloaked her body heat, meaning any thermal cameras wouldn't detect her either. She sneaked a glance at each cell, feeling dejected as she passes countless cells, each containing a Widow.

The timeline's already screwed up, maybe I'll just blow this place up, free all the Widows and kill Dreykov after I save Yelena. All like the good maybe-Loki variant I am. Also, help Antonia, and maybe Nat can adopt her? She thought to herself as she passed yet another locked-up Widow. She sighed, concluding that this was taking way too long, and simply teleported to Yelena's location. She landed in a cell, the exact same as the others, with a 'bang'. In an instant, the blonde had her arm pinned behind her back uncomfortably and a knife pressed against the back of her throat. She cursed mentally her stupidity at forgetting that Widow's had more sensitive hearing than regular people and that she can't phase through matter or mute her footsteps according to the spell. Yelena was probably very confused on why she was holding an invisible arm, or what she assumed was thin air since magic was only recently introduced, and why the invisible arm was struggling.

She sighed, then teleported away. She landed in another room, a young nurse in scrubs turned around, holding a case protectively in her arms. "Who are you? What are you doing here?" She asked wildly in slightly broken English, looking around for the intruder. But since the intruder was invisible, the intruder simply summoned a time stone from her interdimensional pocket and stopped it. In a flash of green light, the intruder walked up to the frozen-in-space-and-time woman, and gently pried the case from her fingers. She placed the case on the table and sorted through the vials, before picking one at random and closing the case and putting it back in the woman's arms before unpausing time. The woman fell to the floor, glancing around wildly, just as the girl teleported away.

Her head landed with a harsh 'thump' against the wall, her nose erupted into pain. Probably broken. She groaned as the Widow kicked her in the back of her knees, causing her to fall to the floor. With a quick slice, the Widow cut her throat, causing a pool of blood to leak out, but the girl seemed unfazed. She merely got up, rubbing at her throat, wincing a bit, then sat up as if nothing had happened. The cut had healed."Ok look Yelena, if you keep slitting my throat, then I'll just knock you out and bring you to Nat myself." The spy simply raised an eyebrow, then lunged again. Cassidy sighed, then pulled out her time stone once again, except this one was in the Eye of Agomotto. She placed the necklace around her neck, then did the Dr. Stange thing-a-ma-bob and time froze.

"Sorry Yelena, but I need you to be awake for this," Cassidy mumbled as she stopped the spell a bit early, meaning the Widow was simply frozen in space and time, but still conscious. Cassidy then pulled out the red vial from earlier. If the Widow was glaring earlier, now she was seething. Cassidy then placed the vial in the centre of the room, before summoning a gun and shooting it, causing the vial to explode, and red dust to remain frozen in the air. Yelena's eyes widened slightly at the girl summoning a weapon from thin air.

She gathered the smoke, before placing it directly above the Widow. She sighed, took a few steps back, before resuming time. The woman landed on the ground with a 'thump', the mist fell softly onto her. She coughed, once, twice, then rolled over onto her back. Slowly, but surely, a red glow was spreading up her face, her eyes glowed red briefly before she closed them. She groaned as she sat up, speaking for the first time; "Wh- What happened?" She half-asked half-said. "Well, for one thing, I just un-mind-controlled you. No need to say thank you, your existence is rewarding enough by the way." Cassidy said with a smile as she sensed the haze of decades of involuntary discipline falls away from the Widow's mind.

"K, cool. I'll let you get all cozy and familiar with your new memories, just let me free all the Widows and blow up the Red Room real quick. Brb!" She said with a smile as she teleported away, leaving a confused Yelena on the floor. After a few moments, nothing happened, then a considerable explosion rocked the floor, causing the airborne locality to shake. Almost like an earthquake. In a second, the girl appeared in front of the spy, who looked up bewildered; "What did you do?" She asked, a tremor in her voice.

"I blew the place up killed Dreykov personally, and freed all the Widows and sent them to nice dimensional space pocket safe houses, where no one can or ever will hurt them. I sent Antonia temporarily there was well, but made sure no can hurt her, since she's the daughter or Dreykov and revenge is revenge, even if it's on the kid of your enemy." Cassidy recapped. Yelena simply stared at her for a moment. "So then, where are we going?" She asked, her accent thick. Cassidy smiled. "We're going to Avengers tower." And with that, the girl grabbed the spy's wrist and teleported away.

The small party landed on the floor with a 'thump'. A groan of protest from Yelena, who lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling, dazed. "I don't ever want to do that again. Never." She said. Natasha stood there, simply staring at her sister before she strode over and pulled her into a hug. "It's nice to see you again, сестра." (sister) She mumbled as she squeezed her sibling in an even tighter embrace. Somewhere in the background, something snapped, probably Tony taking a picture to blackmail Natasha later, but probably less about the money and mostly from embarrassment. Or at least that was what Cassidy assumed, but he didn't need any more money, he had around 12.4 billion dollars, according to Marvel Wiki. So most likely the latter.

After a few moments of shock, Yelena pulled away from the hug, wariness written all over her face. "Natasha?" She croaked. Natasha smiled; "It's me, russkaya." She replied, the grin not leaving her face, Deadpool suddenly spoke up; "Aww, It's so sweet! I might puke!" He said, a smile evident in his voice, Cassidy sighed. "Deadpool, can you go for a few minutes? Please." She asked her tone pleading. The man frowned; "Why?" Cassidy groaned.

"Number one, no offence, but you, er. You're slightly... exasperating." Deadpool looked like he was going to protest. "And, also. Number two, the author has no idea how to write your character," Cassidy added. Deadpool sulked, then walked away, seemingly disappeared, but into nothing, no flash of light, he was just... gone. Tony frowned; "What do you mean author?" Cassidy looked confused for a moment, before replying; "Oh yeah! Remember how I told you guys earlier that the multiverse AKA Marvel Studios in my universe is separated in movies, shows, comic books, and fanfictions, etc?" Everyone nodded tensely, except for Yelena, whose eyes widened slightly, still not sure about accepting that fact.

"Well, this one's a fanfiction," Cassidy replied, way too happily. Everyone paused, Tony broke the silence; "The frick! So we're all just words right now!" Cassidy rocked on her heels; "Yep, pretty much. We're all in a book and written by an author. But there are 2 different versions of us, the ones here, in the book that we exist in, on the Internet. And the one in the author's head. The ones in the author's head have a lot of different versions of us, depending on how the story ends. Luckily, our fates here are set in stone, or set in paper, or computer I guess." Cassidy answered.

"What do you mean 'set in stone or computer'? Aren't we all characters in books on paper?" Steve asked, surprising almost everyone for speaking for the first time. (In ForEvErrRrr) Cassidy smiled a bit; "No. We're written on an online app called Wattpad. It's where you can read and write stories. The author is on there, and writes our lives and existence pretty much." Cassidy replied with an all-knowing smirk. "Lady Bell- Cassidy, if I may interrupt. How do you know about this? Have you met this weaver of tales?" Thor asked, genuinely curious for once. "Well, for one, that kinda has to do with my powers," Cassidy answered.

"And, speaking of my powers, I never explained them, did I?" A few people shook their heads, even Reggie who was still behind the forcefield barrier. Samantha was still standing near the portal, looking interested, even if she didn't hear her. Tony spoke up; "Wait, a second, can't she hear you? Isn't she deaf?" Samantha glared a bit at Tony, Cassidy frowned. "Yes, she is deaf. In case you've forgotten Stark, deaf people can read lips." Tony looked away sheepishly. "And she doesn't need to. Her senses are sensitive enough to feel your word vibrations through the ground." Cassidy added. Everyone looked confused at that, Pepper spoke up;

"You mentioned earlier that if Loki died, you could bring him back to life, why can't you just heal her deafness?" Everyone turned back to Cassidy; "Well, I have offered to fix her hearing, but she says it's more... " She trailed off, turning to Samantha, who flashed her a sign. "More natural she says." Tony frowned; "But still if I was deaf-" Cassidy cut him off; "If you spent your entire life blind, and you adapted to it and became better in everything without your sight, and then someone offers to cure you. Would you do that?" Tony paused for a moment; "No, but-" Cassidy cut him off again; "Exactly, you wouldn't. And she doesn't want to either. So why are you asking her to?" Tony swallowed, then looked away; "Besides, I already gave her some enchanted hearing aids."

"Oh," Tony said simply. Cassidy turned to Reggie; "You wanna stay there in the magic forcefield, or do you wanna come out now?" Reggie thought for a moment; "Naw, I'll stay here. Besides, I'll keep sleeping beauty safe." Cassidy laughed at the nickname, while Samantha chuckled, signing vigorously. "He'd never let us call him that. Ever." Cassidy explained. "Anyways, back to powers." Everyone perked up. "Well, first of all, let's get the basics out of the way. Teleportation, Illusion-projecting, duplication casting, telekinesis, which includes telepathically lifting me and people off the ground, which I consider flying, invisibility, time manipulation, shape-shifting, usually animals though, heightened senses, telepathy, teleportation, regenerative abilities, healing abilities, that includes me and others. I can absorb other people's powers too, or more or less borrow their abilities, magic blasts, matter, molecule and element manipulation, and slight reality-warping abilities." Cassidy finished, taking a huge breath at the end.

Tony blanched; "And those are the basics?" Cassidy shifted a bit; "Yep, the other ones are a bit less though, so don't worry." Cassidy added reassuringly; "Necromancy, advanced electrokinesis, advanced telekinesis, ash teleportation, don't know why I learned that though, I thought it was cool, astral premonition and projection, atmokinesis, audible inundation, power augmentation, aura choking, one I mainly got for Thanos variants, blinking, a form of teleportation, channelling, chronokineisis, cloaking, which is what I used to sneak into the Red Room, deflection and deviation, dream leaping, divination, or clairvoyance, all forms of energy projection, balls, beams, blasts, bolts, sparks, waves, etc. floating, glamouring, or pretty much duplication casting, immortality, the immunity to age, disease and natural death part all included. knowledge absorption, life training, but I only use it in extreme circumstances,  lightning teleportation, which means that even you Thor, aren't safe from me." Cassidy said jokingly, Thor, blanched.

"Spiritual Manifestation, if I do die, that is. molecular manipulation and the whole thing too, deceleration, augmentation, combustion, etc. Nercokenisis, which is also used in extreme circumstances, omniliguasm, pretty much All-Speak, weapons summoning and creation, power manipulation, as I said, the whole thing, absorption, containment, granting, etc. A new one would be super speed, forcefield generation, and finally, zoolingualism." Cassidy finished, taking a huge breath at the end. Everyone simply stared in space for a second, before Tony broke the silence. "The frick! You can do all that!?" Cassidy nodded sheepishly. "And the ability to destroy any universe at will, plus being able to communicate directly to the author," Cassidy added a bit at the end. Everyone looked slightly worriedly at Cassidy, except for Reggie and Samantha, who only looked mildly shocked. The silence was broken though, by Loki who had woken up with a gasp. He took in a deep breath, glancing around the room, before his eyes settled on the team behind the gold forcefield, specifically Cassidy.

"Cass?" He mumbled, even if it sounded more like a question, as he stared at her, obviously disoriented. Cassidy smiled; "You're alive, thank goodness it worked." Cassidy waved her hand, and the barrier fell. "The reason Thor on why I avoided the question on why it was dangerous for Loki to get the powers in the first place," Cassidy said, as she waved a light- where she had gotten it, no one knew- in Loki's eyes, checking his dilation. "Was because he could have died since his magic, or the stone's magic could have killed him." Thor looked like he was about to ask a million questions, but Cassidy cut him off; "It was because the stone's magic is different, the piece of the stone is a separate magical being, as is his own Seidr, so they would both be battling over who gets to be, well, basically the head magic force in his body. Since they're both immensely powerful, it might end up killing him. Luckily it didn't come to that and they came to a peaceful resolution, which includes Loki alive, and with both of them co-existing and with him getting new powers."

Loki himself, in question, looked worse for wear. He had dark bags under his eyes and looked like he was going to faint at any second, he inched away from the light that Cassidy was shining in his eyes, turning his head in the other direction. Cassidy frowned. "He's still disoriented, I think we should let him sleep. He should be fine by tomorrow." Cassidy asserted as she got to her feet, Reggie simply staring from the other side of the bed, with Samantha and everyone else peering over Cassidy's shoulder. Thor frowned, clearly not happy with the possibility that Loki could have died and he could do nothing to stop it. "Can't his... magic, you know, heal him?" Tony asked. Thor nodded; "Aye, can't his Seidr do that for him?"

Cassidy shifted a bit; "Well, it takes quite a bit of magical energy to gain a new magical... entity, let's say. I'm pretty sure that Wanda was out for a week or something, so the fact that he was even awake in the first place is a miracle." Cassidy said, awe evident in her voice. Tony glanced back at Loki. "Well, then let's let reindeer games get his beauty sleep, shall we?" And with that, Tony left the room, surprisingly quiet. Everyone else soon followed, Reggie, Samantha, Thor and Cassidy staying last. The other 3 stood beside the door, Cassidy lagging behind a bit, placing a finger on Loki's temple, uttering a small sleeping spell, before she turned away, each of them glancing at Loki once, before exiting the room together, dimming the lights in the infirmary on the way out.

Laufeyson...

The word bounced around his head for a while,

Who has spoken? Did the person know who he was? The words his subconscious felt odd and airy as if spoken or thought in this case, softly

Who was the person? Was it Thor? His Mother? His father? Perhaps even Than- before his thoughts had even completed forming the deleterious word, he was back in the clutch of memories

Oo. .oO

Darkness

It was omnipresent

No matter where he went, it was there

Hiding in the shadows, scurrying in the murk of the void, always there, always watching

And when his lingering illusion of comfort and life had fallen, it had swarmed

It had clawed and grasped, ripped and torn, agonized and beaten until he barely knew his name, his own family, his friends, he forgot them all

Until he begged for death

He had pleaded and prayed for cessation

But the void was not merciful, and neither was death

It had smothered his breath until he was choking hopelessly in the abyss, choking at nothing, doomed to feel the invisible hand at his throat squeeze ruthlessly, and for there to be no alleviation

He clawed at the strain, but to no use,

He was losing, he knew he was dead or was going to be

Whether it be in a second, or a thousand more, at least he had that relief

His lungs burned without oxygen, and he let them

He deserved it, did he not?

His mere existence was atrocious enough that his original parents had disowned him

His adopted family resented him, all except his mother, but he quickly brushed the thought aside, but not fast enough

Thinking of his mother would only cause a pang in his heart at imagining her mournfulness at his death

It could even be considered comical that the queen of Asgard, the most lovely woman in the realms, cared for the spawn of her worst adversary

Laughable

He felt tears spring to his eyes, odd

He wasn't sure if it was because of the prospect of his certain demise, or the fact that someone was concerned about his continued existence

Or perhaps it was just a natural reflex of being the void for so long

Who knew?

He swallowed, probably for the last time, or so he thought, he felt his heartbeat slow down, the thumping sound in his ears coming less and less frequently

His fingers had gone numb a long time ago, he didn't know when exactly when, but at some point, he had lost all feeling in his limbs

The darkness, a different kind than that of the void, lulled him, seeping in the corners of his vision

His lungs burned, and oh Norns it hurt, but he didn't care, freedom was oh so close

So, so close...

He closed his eyes, hoping to wake up somewhere different, where there was no pain from simply existing

Somewhere new

He sighed softly, using whatever air was left in his lungs in the simple exhale

Finally, he heard one final heartbeat, barely audible to him

Almost there...

And then everything went wrong

Blinding light suddenly assaulted his eyes, and he sat up, pulling air into his lungs. He was... alive. He was ok, maybe. The burning in his lungs faded away, was it... phantom pain? He took another deep breath, hoping that it was just a memory, he opened his eyes, looking around, but everything was tinged, tinged... green and gold. Strange. He looked around, but where he assumed were people were simply splotches of distorted colour. He saw what looked like a red blob, but who wears red? His brain thought sluggishly, wait, Cassidy does. She does, right? He tried getting his lisp to work properly, to form any sort of word, he was able to force out a small, yet hopefully audible; "Cass?"  He felt like he was staring through a kaleidoscope, was he psychedelic? (Hehe, big words!) He heard something 'click' in the haze that was his sensibility, and even more burnished light came, truly blinded him this time, causing him to go typhlotic for a few moments, or that's what it felt like. He inched away, it was too quiet but too loud at the same time. He could hear jumbled voices, only making out a few words at a time, but in the pauses, it was unusually silent. He almost felt like he was in the void again. Almost.

Someone else spoke again, Cassidy? Was it Cassidy? Was she here? Oh, right, she was. He had... seen? He had seen her? Was that the right word? He didn't know anymore, he didn't want to think, or even attempt to be coherent by this point. He just wanted to... what did he want to do? He didn't want to sleep, since that would bring back the horrors of the void and his mind. He felt something touch his forehead before the pull of sleep beckoned him to rest, and for some odd reason, he followed.

Laufeyson, he thought. The word still surrounded his thoughts like a game of cat and mouse.
