Chapter 19

Ashton was just getting ready to leave for Luke's house, when the phone rang.

"Lo and behold, it's the devil himself." Ashton said as he answered it.

"Aw, you were thinking of me." Luke teased.

"I'm about to head over, what do you need?" Ashton sighed.

"Did you do my homework for this week?" Luke asked.

"Not yet. Why?"

"Bring it with." Luke said.

"Wha-why?" Ashton frowned.

"Just do it Cutie Pie." Luke hung up.

Ashton glared at the phone and slammed it back into its holder. "Can this night get any worse?"

He picked up his bag and opened his front door, just as lightning sparked the sky and thunder boomed overhead.

"Absolutely fucking stellar." He grumbled as he started walking in the rain.

-

"I want you guys to be on your absolute best behavior tonight, understand?" Luke crossed his arms as he raised an eyebrow at his parents.

"Lucifer, I give you my word that your mother and I will act accordingly to the situations that arise when your.....boyfriend...comes over for the evening." Keegon said solemnly.

Luke studied them for a moment and sighed. "I suppose that's the best I'll get."

Ding dong.

"He's here!" Luke ran to the front door and let Ashton in. "Hey, why are you all wet?" He frowned as Ashton stepped inside, dripping wet.

"Well it's totally not because it's raining outside." Ashton snapped, setting his bag down so he could wring out his hair.

Luke shut the door and grabbed Ashton's bag. "I'll put this in my room." He hurried out of sight and Ashton became aware of Luke's parents in the room.

He slowly met their eyes and let go of his curly hair. "Uhm, hi."

"Good evening, Mr. Irwin." Keegon said, staying put.

"Yes, welcome back. I certainly hope this night will go much smoother than the previous one." Aven said.

Ashton blushed and clasped his hands behind his back. "I am so sorry about that, my family is...unique, and I shouldn't have let them come over knowing that."

"Well...it was certainly memorable." Aven flashed her husband a look.

"Ashton! Come upstairs!" Luke called.

"Wait just a minute." Keegon said. He walked up to Ashton. "Could I speak to you in private for a moment?"

"Oh, of course..." Ashton followed Luke's dad to a guest bedroom.

"Now, I have nothing against Lucas being...not straight...but I have lived my whole life believing and planning his future as him being straight, so this revelation will take some time getting used to, but please understand that I am not against his lifestyle or yours." He explained.

Ashton was about to laugh and say he wasn't gay either, but stopped when he remembered he was supposed to be. "Oh, right, okay."

"I've done some research to better understand the homosexual life, and I've watched some gay intercourse as well, and I just have one thing to say to you." Keegon said seriously.

Ashton's eyes were wide. "Y-you watched...oh wow...okay, yes?"

"I know Luke seems like the bad boy type, but inside he is really just a lost little boy, who just wants to make everyone happy and when you two are on your honeymoon and you do...'it', just please be gentle with him. He's kind of a big baby sometimes."

Ashton stopped breathing. "Oh my G- wait, you think...you actually think, that...I top?" He blinked. "Is this a joke? Is someone paying you? Where are the cameras?"

"There are no cameras and no one is paying me." Keegon said. "I'm being serious, I know my son, and he is in no way a top. So please, just be nice with him."

".....seriously, where are the cameras?" Ashton asked.

"Aaasshtoooon!" Luke whined from upstairs. "Come heeeeeeeere!"

"You are being paged." Keegon stood up. "I'll leave you two alone for the night, but remember what I said."

"Yeah...sorry for questioning you." Ashton blushed crazily. "It's just that everyone's always told me I'm a bottom...so...this is kinda new for me."

"Understandable." Keegon opened the door and they walked back to the foyer. "Now between you and me, my wife will never know about the homosexual intercourse, alright?"

Ashton giggled. "Alright." He ran up the stairs and found Luke's room.

Luke was laying half on- half off the bed, looking lonely and bored. "Where oh where has my princess gone?"

"Oh don't be so dramatic." Ashton rolled his eyes and stepped into the room.

"Ashton!" Luke gasped and jumped, falling off the bed.

"Luke!" Ashton mimicked, dropping to the floor.

Luke smiled and rolled over to him, hugging him tightly. "Tonight is gunna be so much fun!"

Ashton sighed. "Again with the affection, why is there always affection?"

"Because people love affection and it makes them smile and I'm gunna make you smile tonight." Luke declared.

"Pass."

"Pass denied." Luke stood up and pulled Ashton to his feet. "Now come on, I need to keep my grades up so you have to teach me." He walked them over to his large desk, and sat down behind it.

Ashton sat down in front of it. "Luke, I'm all for helping you not get sent away, but despite popular belief, I do not want to spend my Friday night doing schoolwork."

"Silly," Luke smiled. "You're not gunna do the work, I am! Did you bring my homework over like I asked?"

"Yes, your highness." Ashton said sarcastically. He got up and went to the bed and grabbed his bag. He pulled out the papers and walked back. "No offense, but if you try to do this all tonight, neither of us are going to have a good time."

"We'll have make up sex later." Luke waved him off and grabbed the homework. "Okay, so a worksheet for History and Biology, a review packet for Algebra, and I have to read chapter seven of To Kill A Mockingbird." He stared at the work for a while, before standing up. "Time for a break."

"Oh no you don't." Ashton grabbed Luke's sleeve and pulled him back down. "Don't you dare start procrastinating now, you haven't even started!"

"I just need some snacks and stuff." Luke stood up again. "I'll get us some energy drinks so we don't fall asleep before we get to the fun stuff." He winked and Ashton sighed and rubbed his eyes.

"Luke for the last time, I am not having sex with you."

Luke pouted. "Spoil sport. And that wasn't even what I was planning!" He stopped at the doorway. "But it was what I was thinking."

Ashton jumped up and ran at him. "Luke!" Luke laughed and raced down the stairs as Ashton chased him.

Luke headed to the kitchen and opened the fridge. "Pop, Monster, Red Bull, Gatorade, and my moms wine. But the wine is the fun stuff we're gunna have later." He set the drinks on the table and went to the pantry while Ashton cracked open a Coke.

"Luke, we're underage."

(Let's pretend the legal drinking age is 21 instead of 18 because it sucks that America is always an annoying special snowflake and has to be different from all the other nations -.-)

"It's only illegal if we're caught." Luke said as he pulled down bags of chips and popcorn. "There's candy under my bed in my room, so I don't think we'll need the coffee."

"How late do you think we'll be up?" Ashton asked. "It's just one night."

Luke faced him. "I thought you were supposed to be smart?"

"Huh?" Ashton set the pop down. "Excuse me?"

"Ash, I have a whole review packet for Algebra, do you really believe I can get that done in one night?" Luke gathered up the food and Ashton helped with the drinks.

"Well...it's possible." Ashton tried.

"Yeah, no."

They walked back to Luke's room and set the snacks down beside the desk.

"Let's start with the reading." Ashton pulled the book out of his bag.

Luke opened a bag of Cheetos. "What if you read it out loud to me?"

"No Luke, you're supposed to read it yourself." Ashton flipped to chapter seven.

"What's the difference? We'll be here forever if I have to read it." Luke complained.

"Because you'll get better with practice." Ashton said. "Now come on."

"Please?" Luke gave him a sad look.

Ashton glared. "Maybe I would have, but then you called me Cutie Pie so, no."

Luke sighed. "I'm sorry for that. Now will you please?"

"No, never."

"A-Ash....p-please?" Luke sniffed.

"Oh my God...are you really crying? Are you faking this?" Ashton got up and walked to the desk, where Luke was laying his head on it.

Luke looked up tearfully and Ashton saw genuine tears running down his cheeks.

"Luke! Wh-why?" Ashton felt bad and he hugged Luke from behind. "Please don't cry. You want me to smile, right? Well I can't smile if you're crying."

"B-because I'm a worthless failure!" Luke sobbed. "My p-parents don't want t-to send me away because they hate p-public school. They hate h-having a retarded son! I hear them t-talking at night. They call me everything from stupid, to low- cortical." He sniffed and looked down. "I'm in the lowest percentile at school. I'm so close to failing everything and dropping out."

Speechless, Ashton rubbed circles on Luke's back.

"I really need you Ashton, but you don't want to be my nerd half the time because you hate me." Luke rubbed his eyes.

"I-I don't hate you." Ashton kissed Luke's hair.

"Your research paper says otherwise."

Ashton froze. "You...read it?"

"It was in your bag. I couldn't help it." Luke mumbled.

"Luke, I'm so sorry." Ashton sighed and sat down on the floor. "I wrote that a while ago, before I got to know the real you."

"Now you can add in how stupid I am." Luke pulled his knees to his chest.

"No." Ashton said firmly. He stood up. "Now come on, I believe in you more than I believe in global warming."

Luke gave him a soft smile. "You're such a nerd."

"No, I'm your nerd." Ashton smiled. He gave Luke his hand.

Luke smiled and took it. Ashton led them to the bed and they leaned against the headboard.

Ashton opened the book. "I'll start it and then you finish it, okay?"

"Alright." Luke snuggled against Ashton as he started to read.

-

"Why do they call it To Kill a Mockingbird when there isnt even a Mockingbird in it?" Luke yawned.

"You mean Harper Lee?" Ashton smiled. "Not 'they'."

"Whatever." Luke sat up. "What time is it?"

"Midnight. That took us almost three hours to read." Ashton rubbed his eyes.

"Told you I'm stupid." Luke muttered.

"You are not stupid, Luke." Ashton glared. "Now lets do the worksheets."

"Can we take a break first?" Luke sighed and stretched. "We were just working for three hours!"

Ashton sighed and glanced at the clock. "Luke...we really shouldn't...."

"Please? Just a quick one?" Luke pleaded.

Ashton sighed again. "Fine...but only a really quick one."

Luke beamed and jumped off the bed. "Wine time!" He faced Ashton. "And no more whining about illegality or anything about how we could get in trouble."

"Fine." Ashton glared and crossed his arms.

"And that goes for everything, not just the wine." Luke raised his eyebrows.

"But if we do something bad and get in trouble for it-"

"Then we have a great story to tell our grandkids." Luke said.

"But-"

"Buts are for rimming." Luke danced down the stairs.

Ashton waited a moment, then Luke popped his head back into the room. "Yes, Varia also stole that from me. Now come on!"

He sighed and followed Luke back to the kitchen.

Luke grabbed the bottle of crimson wine and led them to the back yard.

They sat on the swinging chair and Luke opened the bottle.

"Won't your mom notice this is missing?" Ashton asked as he watched.

"Probably, but she'll never know it was us." Luke shrugged and handed it to Ashton.

Ashton leaned back and put his hands up. "No way, I'm not drinking stolen wine. Your mom already hates me! Plus we're still under-"

"You promised!" Luke cut him off. "Now drink!"

"But-"

"You know what butts are for." Luke narrowed his eyes.

Ashton sighed and accepted the bottle. "Sometimes I really don't like you."

"That's nice, now get drunk already." Luke kicked his feet excitedly.

Ashton rolled his eyes but raised the wine bottle to his lips.
