The air crackled with negative energy. The ground shook with the energy that Aleida was drawing toward her. The air was cold, their breath visible.
"Isabella, you must go," she urged, pushing the girl back towards the way the came. Small streams of light fighting to reach them.
"Wh-what are you talking about?" she sputtered, fear written all over her.
Aleida glance around worriedly, eyes scanning every inch of the area. The were here, somewhere close. She simply had no idea where or what they looked like.
"Please, you must trust me." Aleida took the girls face in her hands. "Get to the bridge. You'll be safe there. Wait there until someone comes to you, no matter what, do not leave the bridge."
Bella shook, nodding in understanding. Aleida pushed the girl in the right direction. She stumbled forward, her eyes set on the right direction.
A small scream passed Bella's lips as she fell back to the grown. A dark shape loomed over her, dark tendrils flicking around as it reached towards the girl.
Adrenaline spiked in her heart, she was moving forward the next moment. Aleida stalked forward, eyes set on the creature. She reached upward, breaking a sturdy baseball bat sized piece of wood from the tree. She swung, putting as much power into it as possible.
The shape backed away, the wood pushing it back. Aleida glared, her mind set on destroying the monster of the night.
"Bella," Aleida snapped with authority. "Go. Get to the bridge."
The human jumped to her feet, sprinting passed the fuming girl.
"Stay in the light!" she called after the fleeing human. "Do not trust the shadows."
Her hands shook, with anticipation or fear she wasn't sure. Her heart was set on ending it, it was her responsibility. She only hoed that Bella got away fast enough.
The creature faced her, and Aleida pushed her foot into the ground firmly, an anchor to her element.
It was eerie, never had she thought she would be facing one of the cursed in a land so blessed by magic. She had beat them before, but they were always small, hiding away in the shadows. The damned were not meant to call the dark to them, never should they have had the ability to place fear in her heart.
She hit it back, willing the earth to shift slowly. She need light, pure direct sunlight. It was the easiest way to weaken the beast.
Pain shot through her ankle, a searing type of pain. She spun and gasped at the sight of another creature. The first one took advantage of her distraction, a dark tentacle slithered it way across the exposed skin on her stomach.
She hissed in pain and dropped her make shift club. Her hands wrapped around the inky darkness that squeezed her around the middle tightly. She pulled on it and pain resonated through her hands.
They weren't to be this strong.
The creatures slid themselves against ever inch of available skin. Her body screamed in pain, her mind telling her to fight back. She pushed against them, her hands burned terribly. Her skin blistered and raw where they touched her.
She grew lightheaded from the pain, her heartbeat ponded in her ears furiously. She refused to let them kill her, she needed to get word out about this.
Pushing away the pain, she twisted herself in their hold. The surrounding area was pitch black; she couldn't see a thing.
She reached her hand as close as it could et to the ground, her fingers just brushing against the soil. Bursts of energy shot through her and he turned her attention the trees. Her heart raced hoping that this would work. Not being able to see, Aleida listened to the thrumming of the vibrations. She searched for the trees, picking to the ones that were closest to her.
The branches shook slightly, not responding to her command. She glared into he darkness that wrapped itself around the forest that she loved so dearly.
The creatures stilled at the sound. Their instincts telling them to hide. Using this to her advantage, Aleida wedge her foot in between her and the creature in front of her and shoved it away. Using that momentum, she flipped herself back and over the creatures holding her from behind.
She landed on her feet shakily, her hands in fists at her side. She swayed, eyes shut firmly in the dark. The hovered close to the ground, creeping towards her tense figure.
Aleida jerked her hand upwards, hoping that the earth was still at her will. When she didn't feel anything against her skin, she felt her confidence lift.
Ducking to the ground, she dug her hands into the soil. She reached for the trees, locating the power in their root, free of the inky cloud of darkness. Sucking in a breath, she forced the branch apart, she imagined a circle forming, parting to make a perfectly clear space.
The light from the setting sun burst into the space. The darkness shimmered, bubbling away into wisps of smoke that streamed up towards the sky. Aleida blinked her eyes repeatedly, tears welling at the sudden change.
The creatures shrieked, an inhuman noise coming from them as they pulled themselves towards the shadows.
Aleida moved swiftly, her movements automatic.
She retrieved her previously discarded bat. She moved towards both of the creatures, eyes blank and emotionless.
She ran her hands along the wood, letting her powers influence it.
The creatures, now weakened, were easy to kill.
"May the wrath of the Gods be without mercy. The damned be damned," She whispered.
She watched as the piece of wood took on a silvery quality, hardening into a firm blade forged by the gods in the sunlight.
Aeida didn't hesitate, the weapon in her hand stabbing through each of the creatures. They burst into tiny pieces of ash.
She looked to her clothes in distaste and eyed the sticky black substance that clung to her.
"I hate those Damned creatures."

If it may be unclear in any way, the thing she did at the end was like some magic god thing that her people can do. It pretty much looks like a seraph blade from Shadowhunters.
