Kavin's POV!

After that day with Maya, they called Wednesday to tell their acceptance. As today is friday, they are coming to our home to meet Ilakya officially.

Later that day they called, I talked with Ilakya to know about her opinion. She was shocked at first by hearing the sudden news. Then I talked with her patiently. Eventually, she agreed to see him on a condition which is not to force her to accept him. I agreed happily.

Of course! I'm not going to do anything opposite to my sister's decision.

Today I came early after supervising my construction works and also I made one of my trustworthy employees to take care of the leftover work.

I went to my sister's room to check on her. She was indeed gorgeous in her red colour saree but the typical annoying brother in me didn't let the compliment out from my mouth.

"Enna d chingu chaan chingu chaan nu red color saree katiruka... Paathu vara maapilla kanchana nu nenachu bayandhu odida poran!"

(What is this.. Why are you wearing this splashy splashy red color saree... Be careful of your fiance will ran away seeing you in this red color saree thinking that you are ghost kanchana(tamil ghost movie) !)

I said with a chuckle.. She glared throwing a pillow at me. But I catched sticking my tongue at her😝!

"Chumma than d sonnen... Kanchana va vida unaku than redcolor semmaya suit aguthu!😂"

(Just kidding.. Actually this red color is more suitable for you than that kanchana!😂)

I said, this time she screwed my ear. I screamed in pain.

"Ahhh... Vidu d.. Kalutha... Raatchasi.. Valikuthu d... Ahhhh"
(Ahhh.. Leave me... Donkey... Demom.. It's paining.. Ahhh...)

She left after satisfied with her work. I suddenly kept quiet remembering she have to leave if she gets married!

"Enna da anna thidirnu amaithi aita vitruvenu paathiya? ......  Hey yen moonji ipdi vaadi poyiruku? Ennachu.. Romba thirugitenaa kaatha.. Romba valikutha..."

(What bro.. If you became silent means, you think that I'll leave you? ..... Hey why is your face looking pale? What happened... Did I screwed your ears rough... Is it paining more....)

She asked me concerned. I hugged her tightly blinking my eyes to choke back my tears. She too hugged me.

"Enna da anna... Na kalyanam aita inga irundhu poiduven nu feel panriya?"

(What bro... Did you feeling sad that I'll leave here if I get married?)

She asked me. Smart!

Her eyes too welled up.

Stupid Kavin! See! You made her cry in a good day!

"Yaaru sonna? Enna vida chinna ponnu ne! Nee lam commit aagura... Unna vida 2 vayasu periyavan naan! Na innum ipdi single ah irukene nu nenachu feel pannen..."

(Who tells? You are younger than me! Yet you are going to get committed! And I'm 2 years elder than you! That's why I'm feeling sad that I'm still single..)

I said wiping my imaginary tears with a fake sad face. She hit my arm playfully while giggling little.

"Don't worry anna! If you agree, we'll search for your bride. Then we can talk about my marriage! What say?"

She asked. I punched her head little.

"Thappikalamnu paakriya? Enna maati vida vera plan panra ne! Olunga seekram kalyanam pannitu po! Naanavathu intha veetla un tholla illama nimmathiya irupen!"

(Did you trying to escape? And you are planning to drag me in this! Marry and go as soon as possible! At least I can lead my life peacefully untroubled without you!)

She glared and hitted my arm continuously. My mobile started ringing. I took it and saw the caller id. It was from Kathir.

Didn't he already coming here?

I attend the call.. He told that his bike is puncture. I quickly said I'll come there. I went out after informing my mom and dad..

Actually the groom's family already came! But Mughil said that we can't start the ritual before his sister come. So its advantage for me to pick up Kathir.

I took my bike and went to Kathir's place. While going, I have to take U-turn to go to the street where his house is. I took the U-turn. And after that I slowly increased my speed...

*thud*

I hitted someone. Actually she is the one who slows down suddenly, it's not my fault either. But she started cursing me, that too not so harsh.. Not so soft... It was intermediate. She called me dubukku(fool) which reminded me that phne call one week ago. She didn't see my face instead she is checking her vehicle keenly.

Didn't she thought at least whether I'm injured or not? What is great in that damn scooty than me!?

I went near her. She lifted her face to see me. That's it... I was lost in her eyes.. It is something different.. It shows me something which is lively... I don't know but I just started drowning in her eyes. It intrigued me..

And her mobile rang.. But her caller tune feels like that is the song which is played by the god for us!

Kavin! What the hell are you thinking! Your brain is messed up man! Put bridle to your racing heart and thinking mind!

We both came to the world with the horn sound. She looked everywhere but me. Even I too did the same as I don't want look into her eyes again to drown myself.

Then I apologized her even though it's not my fault. I don't know I apologized whether for the minor accident or to drown in her eyes without her permission!

Kavin! You are sounding like cheesy boyfriend! Just cut your crap! She is going to be your family!

Yeah ryt! She is Mughilan's sister ryt?! How can I forget that!?

I mentally slapped myself. Involuntarily my lips curved thinking that she is going to be my family. She saw me weirdly. Again her mobile started ringing. She took and talked with mom, I guess. She hung up the call.

I asked her whether she is ok or not.. She said ok bluntly. Then only my mind reminded me that she didn't even cared me instead she examined her scooty in the beginning. So I asked that is her scooty is okay or not. She frowned.

Yeah! That's what I want😝! She looked cute while frowning 😜! I have the urge to pull her cheeks which is bubbly.. Aww😍!

Kavin! You surely gone mad!

My mind alarmed me. She glared me and said that my bike is too seems ok.. I nodded. She said...

"If you don't take your bike now.. I can't guarantee the same no damage bike of yours!" Saying this, she smiled sweetly with a irritated face while jerking her scooty from there.

It takes me 2 good minutes to register what she meant! I saw her with open mouth. She left.

Ipa enna solitenu ipdi kaatu poona mathri seeritu pora!😒 Poor kavin! Un nalla manasa yaarum purinjikave maatranga da!

(What I say that she is acting like a wild cat!😒 poor kavin! No one understands your pure heart!)

Then I after that I picked up Kathir in his home. He saw me weirdly from up to toe like I have grown two heads. I raised my brow questioning him.

"Ne sari illa da! Ethuku ipo hatsun curd vilambarathula vara maadu palla palla kaati iruka?"

(You are not normal! Why are you smiling sheepishly like the cow in hatsun curd advertisement?)

I told him the entire incident. Of course, except that the eye drowning part😜!

"No wonder she is that brinjal's sister! Like elder like younger!" He said with a shrug!

"Athu sari! Athuku yen da ne ipdi 32 pallaiyum kaatra? Solra.. Ethavathu scene ah maathi solriya.. Bike idikum bothu intha padathula lam vara mathri.. Rendu perum keela vilunthu lam poralala la??"

(That's ok! But why are you showing your 32 teeth now? Tell me.. Did you changed anything that happened while telling me.. While hitting bike, did you both cuddle while falling down like some scenes in movie??)

He asked teasingly. I widened my eyes and hitted his arm.

"Chumma than da keten! Konjam antha vaaya moodu.. Kannulam koosuthu!"

(Just kidding da! First close your mouth.. My eyes can't see because of your flashy teeth!)

He said. But I cant stop smiling. I don't know why. Is it because of the eye lock or the thought that she is going to be in my family or I don't know.

Then we both went to my home. Everyone looked in our direction. I saw her eyes widening when my amma introduced me. I just smirked teasingly. She saw maya, she winked at her which I don't know why. Then again she saw me with her jet black ocean like eyes.

My appa asked the question which is in my mind. My amma and she hugged. I wonder, how they know each other. My amma covered up by saying that they met in shopping mall. But I can say that my amma is lying. Whenever she lies, she didn't look at others eyes. I have to clear my doubt later. I mentally noted. Then we all sat. Kathir and Maya twisted their lips at each other and turned to opposite directions. I and she chuckled at them

My amma brought my sister. Mughil and she went to talk in garden. Here, my mom and kannamma chit chatted.

Kannamma! Wow!! What a name! Actually I had a dream to call my wife as kannamma.... I'm a big fan of Bharathiyar. He put this nickname to his wife. I too want to call my wife with this name! And I didn't saw anyone with this name till I saw her.

May be, nowadays people might thought that name is too old fashioned. But my obsession to that name didn't decrease a bit. I even told this to my amma too.

Mughil and Ilakya came and they blushed with a nod when our parents asked about their approval. I felt happy for my sister.

I even cross checked him in his original workplace after that day with maya. Everyone said only good compliments. I even enquired about his friends circle to know whether he is drunkard or smoker.. But everything is fine with him. So only I accepted this.

Come on! I can't believe his own sister.. I mean I trusted her. But she is young so maybe she didn't know about his habits na.. Or he may be drink or smoke without his family's knowledge na. So I have to check as a brother. And I did it.

Then after that, Kannamma and Maya went to Ilakya's room to talk with her. Elders are engrossed in their talks. I and Kathir slowly dragged Mughil to my room.

"Hello machan!" I said. He smiled widely with a blush.

"Dei machan ah vekka pada vaikatha da! Paaru mogam ellam sevanthu pochu.."

(Hey don't make our brother in law blush! See his face turned red..)

Kathir cooed. I hit his arm playfully.

"Vantha annaike kalaikatha da! Ilakyava kalayanam pannika ok vera solitaru! Paavam pulla.. Aalam theriyama kaala vitruchu!"

(Don't make fun of him in the first itself! He already agreed to marry Ilakya! Poor him.. He didn't look before he leap!)

I said with a pout. He saw us surprised and then smiled.

"Machan lam vename.. Chumma mughil ne koopdunga.."

(No need for honorific.. Just call me by my name..)

He said. We shook our head negatively.

"Per solli koopdravida.. Machan nu koopta than oru irukkam irukum!"

(It gives more bonding when calling machan(brother in law) than calling by names)

I said. Kathir nodded agreeing. He smiled.

"Then can I call you both as machan😉" He said with a wink. We grinned nodding our head and said "As you wish machan!"

Then we trio chit chatted for sometime. He became close to us in mere seconds. We all shared our mobile numbers. After sometime, our parents called us. He turned, I held his wrist to say the most important thing. He saw me questioning.

"Machan, don't think that I'm always a carefree and jovial person like this. If you did something wrong to my sister, then you'll see the brother Kavin rather than your machan. Hope you understand! She is naughty sometimes and she is still like a kid. So don't get mad and shout at her. She'll easily get scared and cry. So please take good care of her. She is the apple of our eyes. Even till now, I can't imagine this house without her. Yes, without her.. This will become only house not home. I can guarantee, if she accepted you for marrying you means, she'll love you with her whole heart! Keep her heart safe! That's all I can say now!"

I said while tears brimming in my eyes. He saw me then placed his palm in my palm.

"I can understand you totally! I too have sisters.. Don't get stressed thinking all this. I can't promise that she'll never cry. But I can promise to wipe her tears. I can't promise you that I'll never shout or argue with her. But I can promise that I'll sort it out within a day and not to keep the fight long. I can't promise you that I'll never make her fail in anything. But I can promise you that I'll be in her side no matter what. And to the top of all this, I don't want to lose my machans. So I'll keep her heart safe in my heart and will give that to her so that she can keep our both hearts safe na😉!" He said all this and hugged me. Kathir too joined our hug.

Then they went home. I went to Ilakya's room to check on her. She smiling and blushing seeing her mobile screen.

"Madam vetka padra alavuku apdi enna intha phne la iruku?!"

(What is in that phne that makes madam to blush?)

I asked while snatching her mobile. She tried to snatch it from me. But I was too strong than her.

Thanks to my gym coach!

I saw Mughilan's pic as wallpaper in her mobile.

"Adipaavi! Paathutu poyi aramani neram aagala... Athukulla epdi di photo lam vanguna? Kedi!"

(Oh my goodness! Half an hour didn't even passed since they left.. How could you have his pic within this much little time? Fraud!)

I said in disbelief.

"Over ah nadikatha da! Avaroda thangachi than thanthaanga!"

(Don't overact! His sister only gave me his pic!)

She said hitting my arm playfully snatching her phne.

"Are you really ok with him?"

I asked.

"Yes anna! Why are you asking now?"

She asked me back.

"Nothing d! Just wanna confirm! I'm too happy for you! He is really a good guy!" I said

"How are you so sure about him? You are not the one to believe someone unless you confirmed with your own eyes.. Tell me! Did you enquire about him?" She asked giving me suspicious looks.

I gave a caught look.

"Hehehe... Buthisali pulla.."

(Heehehe.. Clever girl)

Saying this, I pulled her cheeks. She glared me. Then I told everything about that day with maya too. She literally rolling on floor while laughing after hearing all this from me.

"Ok ok leave it! Tell me what machan told that you agreed within minutes" I asked her.

"That's between couples! You are not allowed to know that!" She teased me. I pouted.

"Oora therinjikiten... Ulagam purinjikiten kanmani.. En kanmani... Nyanam poranthuduchi.. Naalum purinjiduchu kanmani.. En kanmani!"

(I have realised the true colors of the people and understood how the world functions.. My love.. Wisdom had dawned upon me, and thus everything is clear to me... My love...)

I sang the song from 'Padikathavan' movie. She giggled.

"Oye dramabeez! Stop ur singing, my ears are bleeding! I'll tell. He told me that I'm not only going to home as his wife but also a daughter for his parents and friends for his sisters. So he asked me not to think about having nuclear family since I have to be in joint family of his if I marry him. Then he said some other things. I was impressed in these sentences itself!" She shrugged casually.

After chit chatting with her some more time, I had my dinner and went to my mom room to clear my doubt about that she lied.

"Kavin.. What are doing here?" My mom asked me.

"Amma.. I want to know about when you meet that girl.. I mean Kannamma." I asked.

"That I said na... We both met in shopping mall." She said.

"Mom you know that you are a terrible liar. So tell me what happened!" I said. She sighed in defeat.

Then she narrated the happenings. She praised kannamma to the core. Even I too felt happy.

"Amma.. How many times I have to tell you to have your meals properly!" I said frustrated. She kissed my cheeks and said sorry cutely. Then I too hugged her and left to my room. I lyed on my bed.

My mobile popped with a notification about WhatsApp group named '💐MUGHILAKYA💐'

I curiously checked the group members. It was created by Maya. No wonder in that.

I saved her number remembering the way she act while taking her bike😉 and as I don't have anyone to check my mobile. I smiled sheepishly at her name in my mobile.

Slowly sleep enveloped me thinking the day's events!
