Kannamma's POV!

It has been a week since dad told about the marriage proposal! Today is Friday and today we are going to my brother's to be in-law's home as today is auspicious day for this occasion. But I'm now in my office parking lot. Today I have lot of works, so I'm little bit late than usual.

My mom asked me to come there directly as it'll be late. But how can I go there with this plain chudi with zombie like face because of tiresome work! So I told them to go first, I'll get ready in my home and will come there by myself as they send location!

Now I'm going to my home from my workplace to get ready!

Oops! I forgot to tell what happened after my brother's acceptance.

Yeah! Our parents called them in Wednesday as Tuesday is not auspicious for initiate any good things. They exchanged both their horoscopes and checked with some priest whether their horoscopes are matched or not on Thursday that is yesterday. After confirming their horoscopes are matched perfectly, they decided to meet them today. Because if we check their horoscopes after meeting them means, if its not matched means.. It will be awkward na... Exasperating ryt? I know! But what can I do! They are typical tamilians🤷‍♀️!

Okay coming to the point! Maya told me that she met the girl's brother in her college. She told me not to tell anyone including mughil! She said the entire scene. She even shown me the girl's pic. She is Ilakya. Nice name ryt?!

I literally laughed when she said how she and his friend taunted each other. But what made me think is she told me that I'll be surprised when I see him. I nagged her to tell what's the matter. But she is stubborn to tell me anything. I shrugged it off thinking that she is as usual blabbering.

"Hey sevutu mundam! Endha logathula iruka ne? 10 nimishama kooptutu iruken! Asaiyama nikkura!"

(Hey deaf! Where the hell you are daydreaming?  I'm calling for 10 minutes! You didn't even move!)

My anna shouted at me. I blinked my eyes trying to register what he said.

Uh! I reached my home while thinking everything.

"Uhh! By the way, why are you standing here? Didn't you already in our in-law's home!" I asked him.

"We got ready just now! We are going now first! You come after freshening up, okay? And what do you mean by our in-law's home?" He said raising his brow!

Actually that came out of my mouth without my knowledge. But why not use this to annoy him ryt😉!?

"Yes my big brother! I came to know that your to be fiancee has one brother!  Who knows! May be in future... You got it what I'm trying to say ryt?😉😉"

I said teasingly with a wink. He punched my head. I rubbed my head head hissing in pain glaring at him.

"Poosanika! Kanavu kaanatha.. En kannu munnadi oru paiyanoda vaalka veena poratha na anumathika maten! Nane unaku yetha ilichavaaya paathu katti vaikren! Actually unna katikitale avan ilichavaayan than la!? Sari moraikatha.. Chumma than sonnen.. Po d.. Poi kulichitu kelambi va! Nanga kelamburom. Amma appa maya lam car la anga enaku wait panitu irukanga. Seekram va!"

(Pumpkin! Don't daydream.. I can't allow spoiling one boy's life in front of my eyes! I'll search a perfect gullible person for you to marry! Actually if someone marry you, then he'll be automatically be a gullible person ryt?! Okok Don't glare.. Just kidding.. Go.. Go take bath and come! We are leaving. Mom dad and maya are all waiting for me in the car there. Be quick!)

Saying this, he bid bye to me and went!

I went to my room and took my quick shower and dressed myself in a golden colour chudidhar, I put minimal makeup and checked the time. I took exactlyexactly 30 mins to got fully ready to go.

I quickly grabbed the keys for my scooty and started to the location which maya send me 10 mins before.

Within 10 mins, my phne started ringing, I decided to stop my scooty in the side and answer the call. I slowed down my scooty..

**thud**

Someone hitted my scooty from behind. I was so frustrated because of this sudden hit when I'm in haste. I turned my head and started scolding him without seeing him.

"Dei dubukku! Kannu therila! Vandiya slow panren la! Atha kooda paakama vanthu idikura! Periya flight otratha nenapo! Sariyaana waste uh! Ivlo thitren bathil pesurana paaru!"

(Hey fool! Don't you have eyes! Can't you see I'm slowing down my vehicle! Do you think of as you are a pilot? Such a waste piece! I'm this much scolding, he didn't even answer me!)

I cursed him while lifting down from my scooty and knelt down to checked whether my scooty is damaged or not.

Suddenly one tall figure appeared in front of me. I slowly lift my gaze up at his face.. To be exact, his eyes...

*eye lock*

He is the same man who I drooled a week ago in mobile shop. He looked into my eyes deeeepppp... Like he is searching my soul into my eyes. I too did the same. I don't know why.. But I can't take my eyes from his eyes.

We both came out of our own world with the ringtone of my mobile. But the ringtone didn't help us either to break our eye contact. We both jerked when someone pressed their horn. We saw everywhere but each other! We both were embarrassed as same.

He is something... His eyes are something which I can't describe... So deep... Intense... It was like piercing my soul..

Stupid kannamma! Don't exaggerate! It's nothing. He is just staring you because you are literally drooling him! And you are not so beautiful to someone sight you! Don't you remember the words?! 'You fatty pig'...... Now shut your heart and Keep this in mind.. you blockhead!!

"Hmm.. Sorry! I didn't noticed that you are slowing down.."

He said and his face turned like he remembered something! His face lit up like a kid who saw a cotton candy!

"Hmm.. It's okay!" I said quickly and tried to leave as quickly as possible as I didn't want to embarrass myself and especially don't want my heart's stupid tricks whenever seeing him.

Yes! I saw many man.. To be exact, many handsome men.. But he is somewhat different. I don't know what the hell is going on inside my head and heart! Uh!!!

Again my phne started ringing. Sighing with annoyance, I took my mobile and saw the caller Id. It was from my mom.

"What ma? Why are you calling me now? Didn't you all are already in their home?"

I asked her.

"Yes da. We are here only. Where are you now? Your brother didn't allow us to meet the girl before you come here!" My mom said with utter annoyance.

What!? Did my anna delayed his meeting because of me!? Voah!! Such a awesome brother!😍

"Yes ma! I'm coming within 10 mins!"

I quickly said and placed my phne in my purse.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

Didn't he left till now!?

"Yeah I'm okay!" I said.

"I mean.. I asked about your scooty.. Is it damaged?" He asked innocently.

I frowned!

Seriously! He is concerned about that damn scooty instead of the living thing which is standing in front of him!!😒😒

"Yes! It's good.. No damage! And looks like your bike is also not damaged" I paused he nodded. I continued "So if you are not taking your bike and leave means, I can't guarantee the same no dame bike of yours!"

I said irked. He saw me with O mouth for my reply as he never expected that. I smiled sweetly and jerked my scooty from there leaving him with that same O mouth.

Later that, I reached there in 10 mins.

I quickly went inside, everyone was sitting there in the hall in ப shaped sofa. I saw one lady and man sitting in the sofa, their back facing me. Probably, Ilakya's mom and dad As soon as I enter, maya yelled..

"Kannuu!! You finally came!"

Everyone turned their head in my direction. I widened my eyes in shock seeing that sweetie aunty in that house. So is she Ilakya's mom?? My brother's mother in law!?

As soon as seeing me, she came and hugged me sweetly. Everyone saw us confused. We all heard some bike sound out side. We turned our head towards outside.

Again I widened my eyes in shock seeing that same man who is the reason for my heart's antics.

"Kavin! Kathir! Vaanga da! Yen veliyave nikkuringa?"

(Kavin! Kathir! Come! Why are you standing outside?)

That sweetie aunty asked him. I saw her confused.

"Ivan than ma en paiyan! Annaiku sonnene.. Maranthutiya?"

(He is my son dear! I told that day ryt.. Did you forgot?)

She told with a smile pointing towards the man and continued

"Ivan ivanoda frnd Kathir.. Ivanum Enga paiyan mathri than!". She said pointing towards the another man standing beside him. I saw him, he smirked. I turned my head towards maya, she winked at me. Realisation hitted me like a storm!

So he is her brother and another one is his frnd whom maya said about taunting each other!

Great! Just great! We didn't even started to talk about the marriage! But I already messed up with her brother! Uh!!

"Kayal! Unaku Kannamma va munnadiye  theriyum ah?"

(Kayal! Did you already know Kannamma?).

One man asked her. I think he is Karthigeyan uncle, Ilakya's father. Aunty gave a caught look. I saw her with confused face.

"Aamanga.. Oru naal shopping pogumbothu paathukitom!"

(Yes.. We met one day while shopping!)

She said and winked at me. Oh! So she hided the accident matter! I just stood there silently.

"Yen da ivlo neram! Ithuku than Kathir unna mathiyame vaa nu sonnen! Vela iruku evening time ku varenu sollitu.. Bike puncture nu phne panra.. Unga rendu pera vachutu enna than seiya poreno!"

(Why are you both this much late! This is why I said you to come afternoon itself kathir! But you simply refused saying you have work and will be in time.. Now you called saying your bike puncture.. I don't know what to do with both of you!)

She said annoyingly. They both smiled sheepishly 😁😁.

"Illa ma.. Seekram varalam nu than paathen.. Antha manager naayi innaiku vaara kadaisi nu solli vela solli konnutaan! Veetuku vanthutu kelambi veliya vanthu paatha bike puncture.. Athan Kavin ku phne pannen!"

(No ma.. I thought to come early.. But that dog manager made my work double by saying this is weekend day! Then when I came home and got ready, my bike punctured.. So only I called kavin!).

He said while scratching his crook of neck with innocent smile.

"Sari sari vaanga! Erkanave late uh! Neenga ukkarunga.. Na poyi Ilakya va kootitu varen!"

(Ok ok come! Already late! You sit.. I'll go and take Ilakya here!)

Saying this, she went upstairs. I quickly took seat between mughil and maya. Maya came near my ear and whispered "How is my surprise?"

"As bad as your face!" I said. She rolled her eyes.

"Maya! I need to talk to you alone after we return to our home!" I said she nodded curiously.

Kavin and Kathir both took seat opposite to us. Seeing maya, kathir twisted his lip and turned other side. Maya too did the same. I and kavin chuckled seeing them.

We all turned when we heard foot step with tingling sound of bangles and anklets coming along with mind blowing smell of jasmine.

My brother gasped seeing the mesmerizing beauty in front of us.

"Anna romba valiyuthu da.. Thodachiko.. Pattikaataan mittai kadaiya paakra mathri paakatha!"

(Bro you are dribbling! Wipe it... Don't see her like a villager who sees a big candy shop!")

I whispered near his ear with a chuckle. He turned and glared me. Aunty asked her to give coffee for us and take blessings from my parents.

She gave coffee to all of us lowering her head. And she lifted her head little when giving coffee to my brother.

*eye lock*

They both shared a cute eye lock. I cleared my throat to alert them as everyone is watching them curiously. She jerked and went near my parents and took their blessings. Then she went to one corner and stood there.

My appa asked them to speak privately if they want. My anna stood immediately. Everyone chuckled seeing his eagerness. He smiled sheepishly. They both went to the small cute garden which is in backyard. In the mean time, aunty sat besides me and talked some random things.

But I could feel someone's intense glances.

They came after 15 mins. Our parents asked for their answers.. They both smiled with a blush.

Then our parents discussed about the wedding. They decided to meet astrologer to fix their engagement and wedding the next day. Everyone is happy. My anna is blushing hard.

"Ma!! I want to talk with my anni(sister in law)!" I asked with low voice. Maya nodded with excitement.

"Kannamma! Don't play! She is your brother's fiance not yours. And I know you both will mess up her mind if I allowed you to talk with you!"

My amma warned with a glare.

"What are you telling secretly to your mom kannamma?" Aunty asked.

"Maa.. That... We want to talk with our to be anni... But amma is not allowing us to talk with her." I whined. She smiled.

"Ilakya! Go take them to your room and talk with them.." She said. We smiled brightly. My mom glared us which we ignored and left with her.

She showed me her room. It was neat and clean unlike ours.

"Hi Ilakya anni.." I said.

"No.. Don't call me anni.. Just call me by my name.. I'm just around your age na!"

She said. I smiled.

"So tell us anni! Did you like my anna really?" Maya asked. She nodded with blush. Cute 😍!

"What my anna told that you agreed within 15 mins?" I asked curiously.

"Uhmm.. He said.. Ask your anna.." She said shyly. We grinned seeing her. We chit chatted for sometime pulling legs with each other. She soon become close with us. We exchanged numbers. We gave her my Anna's number.

Then after we went to our home. They insisted us to eat dinner their. But we refused saying we'll eat in their home some other day.

We went to a nearby hotel to eat our dinner. We all sat in a round table.

"So did you all okay with this marriage?"

My dad asked. We all smiled with a nod. My anna blushed again.

"Dei anna.. amma saree ah vida un moonji sevanthu pochu da.. Ipdiye vekka pattute iruntha apram post box mathri aiduva!"

(Dear bro.. Your face became more red than our mom's saree.. If you keep on blushing like this, you'll surely will become like a postbox!)

I whispered near his ear. His ear turned pink in embarrassment, but he tried to cover up by glaring me. I chuckled.

Then after that we went to our home. Me and maya lyed in our bed. She surfed something in her mobile. My mobile pinged with a notification. I took and saw that she created a WhatsApp group named '💐MUGHILAKYA💐' 

I saw her. She grinned with a wink. I opened it to see the group members.

Correction kannamma! Did you forget? You only scam called him! The real scam call idiot's number end with different number!.

My mind mocked me. Okay! But why she is added his number, that too in our family group..

"Maya! Who are all in this group?" I asked with a frown.

"What 'who are all'  you, me, anna, anni, anni's brother, and his frnd! This group is for us youngsters!😉" She said.

"Tell me which is kavin and Kathir's number" I asked her praying all the gods for nothing happen like I'm thinking. She showed me their numbers in her mobile.

Kathir's number is that number which I didn't save. But my eyes popped out from the sockets when I see that kavin's number is that number which I saved scam call in my mobile.

"Maya! Are you sure that this is his number?" I asked. She frowned.

"Don't you see his profile pic? This is his number only.. Why are having these kind of stupid doubt suddenly?" She asked. I simply showed my mobile to her biting my lower lip. Again she frowned.

"Why are you showing me that scam call idiot's number?" She asked with annoyance.

"Mandu! See they are same!" I said slightly hitting her forehead.

She widened her eyes and frowned.

"So he is that scam call! How dare he?!" She said furiously. I held her wrist shooking my head negatively

"No maya.. I saved his number mistakenly. That scam call number ends with different number. I came to know this on monday only. I forgot to tell you.. But I didn't know that fate will play this much drastically in my life." I said with a pout. She laughed but she asked me cautiously "Do you think, he still remember your voice?" I shrugged with "I don't know"

Then again I bit my lower lip nervously. She saw me raising her brow questioning. I told her today's bike incident. She laughed at me. I glared her.

"Seriously kanns! Destiny plays with you  mischievously..😂🤣 Be careful with him!  I don't think he will leave you when he comes to know about our phne call!😂🤣 try your best to avoid talking with him in mobile for some days" She said while laughing...

After that she slept putting her mobile aside. I quickly saved kathir's number as Kathir. But I don't know how to save kavin's number.. Kavin... Anni's brother... I don't know. So I simply backspaced scam call from scam call idiot 😉!

I smiled at his name in my mobile and dozed off thinking today's incidents.
