Kavin's POV!

After yesterday in thirumangalyam ponn urukuthal function, today we have lot of works regarding the wedding which is going to happen tomorrow. Now time is already past 10.

I went to Ilakya's room to check on her. She'll be in mughil machan's home after tomorrow 😔

When I entered, she, ammu and some of her friends were chatting putting mehendi on their hands.

Ilakya's and Ammu's hand is fully designated with mehendi which looks awesome.

Hi d raatchasi.. What are you doing? I tried to intiate the conversation

Nothing da anna.. Just putting mehendi! So see this how's it? She asked me exitedly.

So beautiful just like you d! I said with a smile but my eyes betrayed me by brimming tears.

Anna.. What happened? Why are you crying anna? She asked me panicked.

What? No d.. It's just... just some dust.. I tried to cover up.

Tomorrow gonna be her big day and I don't want to ruin her mind just now. She deserves to be happy.

I know.. She said with tears in her eyes.

Damn! I'm making her cry now!

Enna.. Anna thangachi rendu perum paasamalar padatha remake panna aaramichitingala?

Ammu teased us. Ilakya glared her in which she chuckled.

Anna.. Namma first ivala pack panni anupirkanum! Paaru evlo jolly ah iruka nu!😒

Ilakya said with a pout.

Aannhhaann.. I'm not going to marry someone blindly whom our family decides like you! I'm sure I'm gonna marry someone I love🤩 Ammu said dreamily.

So you're saying that I'm doing wrong ryt? Ilakya asked.

No.. Not exactly but somewhat😉! Ammu teased her. I glared ammu to shut her mouth.

Fine! Then I'm not going to marry Mughil!! Anna call off this wedding! Ilakya said annoyed.

Fine then! I'll talk with Mughil anna first! Saying this, Ammu stood and started to walk.

Ilakya hold her wrist to stop her.

What are you doing ammu? Ilakya asked challengingly.

What I'm doing! I'm going to call off this wedding as like you wished! Ammu shrugged.

These girls!!! I shouldn't had come here in the first place!

Ammu!! Saying this Ilakya started chasing Ammu..

Kavin!! Save me from your raatchasi.. Ahh! I'm just kidding d.. Nothing much d.. Leave me.. Ammu started running.

Both fell on bed at last but they both were carefull about their mehendi hands. It didn't even smudged a bit..

Girls are always girls😂

After that, we trio chit chatted about some random things. But Ilakya slept within 5 mins. Ammu and I talked for some more time.

Ammu showed me the R initial in her hand with a blush. She hided it cleverly that no one can find it easily.

I thought about Kannamma suddenly.

Did she too put my initial in future?🤩😍.

Aww!! I'm waiting for that day😍😌

I asked Ammu about Rakshan. She said she's still didn't patch up with him from their fight yet they're talking. She told that she'll make me talk with him after she went to London. Yes, she's going to london after a week.

Then after that I went to my room and slept.

I woke up at 3 in morning. The whole house is busy. I and Kathir went to Ilakya room. She's getting ready and ammu too. Kathir as usual flirted with them.

They both looked so gorgeous in that silk sarees. Yet my mind automatically went to Kannamma! Did she too wear silk saree?? I'm sure she'll be killing beauty in that..

We all went to wedding hall. I and Kathir got busy in the works. We both went to caterer and checked everything.

Then we both went to Mughil machan's room that's groom room. He looked more handsome in his attire.

When we came out, there comes Kannamma who's sinfully Beautiful in that pink saree and About Maya! She too looked beautiful yet my eyes didn't moved a bit from Kannamma.

And here Kathir is also in my condition.

Wait! Is he checking out my Kannamma?

I looked at him in the corner of my eyes. But his eyes is on Maya! And partially on Kannamma too.

What he actually doing??

Kannamma! You'll be the death of me!

Can't you show me some mercy by not being this much beautiful?

Kavin.. Your mind is totally messed up man!!!

I jerked and came to reality when kathir shook me. And I blabbered without my control about urad dhal sambhar!

Seriously! Hey little brain! Can't you come with a good excuse.. Stupid!

I scolded my brain. Then Kathir took kannamma's hand and looked at her mehendi.

Already god drawed her fingerprints like a mehendi in her hand and now she put mehendi design on top of that!

Voah! Kavin nowadays you're speaking like a poet🙈.

I spotted the K word in her hand. I asked her who's that.

Who else? Is it me?? K for kavin?

I smiled and blushed at the thought. And this kathir started telling that it's his name. And as usual maya came as my rescuer. Kannamma said that that's her name. But I guess that's not true.. Or may be..

And this side Kathir and Maya started their tom and Jerry fight. Kannamma dragged maya slowly from there.

After that, we all ate our breakfast. The marriage happened.

Mughil tied the knot around Ilakya's neck and the other two knots were did by Kannamma as she's his first sister.

He put Vermillion on Ilakya's forehead and on mangalyam.

Finally my little ratchasi is married!

Is she even old enough to lead her own life? It was like my mom placed her as a baby in my hand saying that she's my little princess and I have to save her from every bad boys.. But now.. She's married.. She's another man's woman now! She'll be no more live with us in our home!

A lone tear escaped from the corner of my eye which I wiped immediately without anyone's notice. I saw my amma and appa's face which is now sparkling and their eyes also brimmed with tears.

But the smile in Ilakya's and Mughil's face is enough to make me smile with contentment.

After that the time gone with posing for photos and other works. I noticed that photographer is sighting ever girl including maya. But I shrugged it off thinking maybe that's my imagination.

The lunch time almost came. Kathir went to washroom. So I waited for him talking with surya about the construction of his house and also playing with sanju and diya.

That time my mobile rang. I took it and saw the caller id.

Kaatu poona(wild cat)??

Why she's calling now? Didn't she in this hall?

I attended the call and she asked me to come to the back of the hall making me restless. I asked her the reason and she said that she's okay and she calling me for another matter.

I literally ran to the back of the hall. When I reached there, I saw kannamma tickling the photographer who's on top if kathir.

What they're doing? Why she's tickling him?

Unknown anger raised in me seeing the scene before me. I asked are they playing in a annoying and unbelievable tone.

Kannamma said did they look like playing in a most annoying tone.

And then they explained what the heck happened!

My blood boiled hearing that photographer talked something about Maya!!

What the hell!

I know now showing anger and doing heroism is not a good idea.. Because the wedding happened just before now. So if this news goes to anyone means, the whole wedding excitement and happiness will be ruined.

And about Maya? What'll she do when she came to know this? She's just a kid in heart. I'm sure she can't bear this and will cry the hell out of her! So it's best to keep this as confidential as we could ryt?

So I warned him and I can't help myself from punching him. And Kathir too did the same and crushed his mobile taking the sd card from his camera. Then I called the studio and informed about this.

That's when we noted that Kathir's forehead had a deep scratch. Kannamma became panicked and worried but Kathir lighten up the situation by his stupid jokes! Such a good friend he is!

Then the new photographer came, we just asked him to continue saying that we'll talk later.

We went to bride's room for the first aid which Kannamma told. There Maya, Ammu were waiting for us. And Maya is the one who is worried more.

Kathir said some lame lie about the scratch. Maya is not convinced yet she didn't ask more questions.

Maya did the first aid and Kathir's face is totally blank. He's just stared her the whole time. I never seen him like this before.

Maybe because of pain?

But my mind said otherwise.. I just shrugged it off. After that, we all went to lunch.

Then everyone left in a van for the next ritual which is 'maruveedu'. In this, the couple will go and come to groom and bride's home for three times. We decided that 2 times will be done here and the one will be done in chennai.

I and kathir have our relative's bike. So we'll go there by bikes. We paid everyone. That time new photographer Riaz came. Actually he's a good guy. He convinced us by saying that he'll take care of everything. He even refused to take money from us.

But I know the business and personal are different. And he's not the one who did mistake.

Then I spot Kannamma besides me. Kathir said he'll drop her in his bike. I felt little irked.. Okay I'm irked to the core. But what can I do now?

We waited for kannamma for more than 15 mins, but she didn't returned till.

So we both went to bride's room. There we saw maya who's sleeping peacefully. Kannamma too didn't have any idea how she's here.

Kathir woke her up by yelling near her ears about cockroaches. She jerked and almost hugged him in fear. Kathir stiffened. Then after realising, Maya pushed him and stood.

She explained how she ended here. Kathir is already in another world which god knows what he's thinking.

I shook him and we all went to our bike. Maya said that she can't travel in my bike because of the back seat is little higher. And she said that she can travel in Kathir's bike.

I asked Kannamma whether she's okay with my bike. She agreed. I mentally thanked maya and did a folk dance in my mind.

We both started. Though, it's not a first time we rode in bike together. I felt fresh like this is the first time.

In our villages, the roads are not that much good which is almost like having a speedbreaker in every 10 feets. She gripped my shoulders tightly like her life is dependant on that. I was overwhelming with contentment would be an understatement.

We reached there within 1 hour. Ammu was in entrance smiling ear to ear teasingly at me. I walked past her like I didn't notice her.

Kathir and Maya still not came! What they're doing?

They came after ten minutes. Okay! May be he drove slowly!

Then the ritual started. Kannamma gave milk and banana to Mughil machan and Ilakya.

Then after that, everyone chitchatted for sometime. Time is past 4 now. So now we are all going to Mughil machan's home and we'll return here before night.

This ritual is also named as 'Mamiyar veedu kaanuthal' which means the mother in law of the groom will go to groom's home with relatives and neighbors to show her son in law's home that she married her daughter to a good family with a clean and neat house.

For this, only some close relatives will come. Kannamma's parents are not here. I mean they didn't came here, they all went to their home from the wedding hall.

We all started to Mughil machan's home. We reached there within 1 and half hours.

Kannamma and Maya literally ran inside. Mughil and Ilakya was stopped outside to take 'harati'.

Within few seconds, kannamma and maya came with the harati plate grinning.

They took harati for both of them and put some Vermillion on mughil and Ilakya's forehead. When mughilakya was about to enter the home, kannamma and maya stopped them.

Where do you think you're going? Kannamma asked.

Uhm.. To our home! Mughil said confused.

Give us money then! So only we can allow you both! Otherwise you both have to stood here forever!😜 maya said.

Mughil gave them a unbelievable look. He seeked help from ezhil aththa and maran mama.

Appa amma! See them! Tell them to allow us pa.. He whined.

No mughil! We can't support you in this! These are there rights.. So you have to give them how much they want! Maran mama said with a shrug casually.

Kannamma and Maya smiled victoriously. Mughil sighed defeatedly.

Ok fine! Take this. He handed them 200 for each. They glared him.

What's this? Do you think we are high school kids? Kannamma asked annoyed.

What? Is 200 rupees seems to be a pocket money for high school kids?😳 mughil asked disbelievingly.

Then what? We want 2000 for each of us! Maya ordered.

Mughil see his father's face but no use. He finally gave them 2000 for each and they left a way.

Irunga d.. Unga purushanunga kita irunthu double ah collect panni katren!😒

Mughil said while pouting.

Haan.. Hann.. That'll never happen! They'll be never like you blockhead😂 Maya taunted him. He glared but then grinned.

Let's see d kuttychaththan.. Don't forget that I'm the one whom going to select the groom for both of you!😉 Mughil said

Haa.. Let's see.. Don't worry anna. We'll never make you stress about that instead we'll take the stress to search the groom for us😉 what's say kanns? Maya asked kannamma. Kannamma suddenly turned to me and stared me.

See kanns too agreed!😉 Maya said with a wink in which she received a punch from ezhil aththa. She pouted at us in which we all laughed.

The  after that ilakya lighted the lamp (kuthuvilaku) in Mughil machan's house. We all chit chatted for some time. And now the time is almost past 7.

The dinner served there. It's briyani😋

My mind went to the briyani in mall which I and kannamma shared. I smiled at the thought.

Then after that, we're going to our home. As the last ritual 'wedding night😉' will be held in our home which is my thatha's request.

I missed kannamma's presence around me now..

We all went to our home and the time is half past 9. The 'shanti muhurtham' will be on half past 10 which is the good time.

I and Kathir is the one whom going to decorate the room. We bought sweets, fruits and flowers.

We went inside and started decorating the room with flowers. Kathir started munching the sweets.

Dei mental! That's for them not for you!! I said as I threw the flower ball on him while tieing the flowers in the bed.

So what? As if they're gonna eat this whole night! He said and again munched the sweets.

Dei Don't finish it da! It's also a custom.. Okay? I said while glaring him.

He pouted and put that down. After finishing everything. I went to see Mughil. Kathir accompanied me.

He sat in sofa and watching tv.

Machan.. Can.. Can we have a talk? I asked him with little hesitation. He smiled and nodded.

Sure why not! He said came to me. Ilakya was in her room with ammu.

We three went to balcony.

Machan.. I know now she's your wife. But I can't control myself from telling this. Please take a good care of her. And please don't hurt her in any means.. I said in a worried voice. He just stared me.

Huh! Machan why are you talking like a stranger.. You know you can tell me anything! Mughil said after a sigh.

I know.. I mean.. Ilakya is 25 years old now yet she's a child by heart. I don't know whether she can handle the responsibilities as a daughter in law and as a wife or not. So I just want to tell you that, even if she lacks in any of her responsibilities, just tell to her directly yet calmly. She can't tolerate and handle other's anger issues. And she's sometimes hell annoying that even I can't control her mood swings especially in the three days.. And if possible, can you bring her to our home often in weekends like that. I mean, if you're free only, otherwise don't.. I know that you know everything what I'm now trying to say as you also have two sisters. Yet I.. I want to tell this as her brother.. Hope you understand! I poured out my thoughts.

Machan.. Please don't worry.. I can totally understand you. She's my responsibility now. I can handle her totally as I'm sure she's not annoying and bothersome compared to my two little devils.. He paused with a chuckle.

I can't tell that I know her well but I can tell I'll try my best to understand her. So don't worry machan.. You can believe me in nothing but Ilakya's issues. Mughil said while taking and pressing my palms assuringly.

Make sure of that machan.. Because if you do something stupid in Ilakya's issues, you'll be see the worst side of us.. Kathir said playfully yet seriousness in his voice. Mughil gulped and nodded.

Dei machi.. Don't spoil his mood da... See he is fearing.. I said with a chuckle.

Yeah.. Yeah.. At least he's gonna do the next most important ritual ryt?😉 Kathir teased but Mughil saw both of us in confusion.

What ritual? Didn't every ritual finished already? Mughil asked us.

What machan? You're still like a baby🤭! Go to your room for your wedding night that's the next ritual!😂 Kathir said with a chuckle.

Mughil blushed scratching the crook of his neck and nodded. He left.

After that I and Kathir went to our room. We both are equally exhausted because of the continuous works and lack of sleep. We both lyed in bed.

Machi! When are we going to Chennai da? That dog manager is calling me every day and nagging me about my grandma's health! Kathir said with a pout.

Uhmm.. May be in a week.. I said.

Because we all planned to go to our ancestors own temple 'kuladheiva kovil' which means one particular temple which is devoted by some families since from their ancestors.

That's a ritual to go to temple after marriage and do a special pooja by offering a goat and preparing sweet pongal there.

What?? A week?? Oh my goodness! I'm gone.. He exclaimed.

Why da? Now what happened? I asked him.

Dei.. I thought that we'll return in one or two days so I informed my manager that my grandma is perfectly alright and she'll be discharged in a day. Now what'll I do? He said worriedly.

Oh god! For God's sake, just stop talking about your dumb manager da.. I thought something big when you exclaimed. Shut up and sleep now! I said and he pouted.
