Kannamma's POV!

It has been 2 weeks since I joined this call centre. I really felt comfortable here. Moreover Jo became close to me. Sometimes she and surya exchanges weird eye locks and smiles, I still wonder what's that mean really. But neither I asked her nor I ignored the sweet eye locks.

Jo told me that there will be many scam calls will be come more than normal calls. But till now, in this one week, I didn't got any which I'm really grateful for.

Now time is half past 2. I got a call connected. I received it.

"Hello! Kannamma here! What can I do for you sir!" I asked politely.

"Adi vaadi en kannukutty! Enaku oru prachana athan call panen! Neenga than customer ah care panra service la! En prachana ketu konjam theethu vai!"

(Oh come on my dear little calf! I had one problem that's why I called! You are the service who cares customers ryt! Then Listen and solve my problems!)

He said. Ok it is one of the scam calls!! But the task is I can't cut the call immediately, i have to make him cut the call and I should not shout at him. This is gonna be a tough game! I sighed.

"Sorry sir! We don't give solutions for your personal problems. If you have any problems in our mobile service, then you may proceed. Otherwise, please don't disturb me sir." I said politely.

Actually Jo's seat is besides me only. But she went to restroom. Otherwise I'd be asked her to handle this.

"Heyyy kannamma! Please phne ah cut pannatha... En pondati enna vitu odi poita! Neeyum poidatha please"

(Hey kannamma! Please don't cut the call... My wife ran away from me! Please don't leave me like her)

I mentally cursed him.

"What you want sir? Please I'm not here to talk to you. I have work! Please don't disturb me and please cut the call" I almost pleaded him.

That's it I cut the call. What the hell he is thinking about himself! Bloody idiot! He'll see the consequences for his stupid stunt. I saved his number in my mobile. You are finished!!!

Then after that call, I can't concentrate on my work. I had a heavy headache because of his blaberrings. Jo asked me what's wrong with me. I told her that I had a headache. She gave me a coffee which she prepared by our floor's coffee machine. Again he tried calling and to my bad luck, it connected to my system! Damn!!!!

"Hello sir! Jyothika here! What can I do for you sir?"

This time I said Jo's name instead of mine. Jo saw me curiously why I said her name in the call. I gestured her to wear headphones and I connected the call to her headphones to make her hear our convo. She silently and curiously did what I said.

"Hey sweetheart! Why you cut the call? And do you think that I won't recognize you if you change your name? My sweetie pie kannamma!"

Argh!!!!! How the hell he recognized!

Jo saw questioningly. I just nodded my head for all her questions. She chuckled.

"I'm really sorry sir! I don't know who you are! And what's the purpose you called for customer service sir? Any queries?" I asked politely but inside, I'm boiling beyond boiling point.

"En kanavu kanniye! Athan munnadiye sonnen la! En purpose ae ne than d chellam! En kooda konja neram pesu. Oh ithula yaravathu record pannuvanga nu bayapadriya? Sari un number kudu. I'll call you and talk. Ur honey can do whatever for you! My wife didn't understand me and ran away! You too don't go like her my ice cube flower!)

Is he for real!? I'm his dream girl and he's my honey?? My foot! Damn it!!

I cut the call immediately. Jo started laughing like a crazy woman. I glared her.

"Seriously kanns! I also had attended many scam calls. But this is epic!😂🤣😂 This is just crazy🤣🤣 and your face is really worth watching!!🤣😂😂" Jo said while laughing. I glared her.

"Stop it already Jo!" I yelled. She pursed her mouth to suppress her laughter.

"So this is what the reason for your headache ryt?" She asked. I nodded.

"Don't take it serious. Usually same calls didn't repeat. But today ur bad luck. It happened. Don't take it seriously. You have to face more than this. Okay?" She said smiling genuinely. I nodded and side hugged her. She patted my shoulders.

After that in evening. I got ready to leave office and go to home. I entered parking lot. But to my bad luck, my scooty tyre punctured.

This day can't be more worse!

I saw Jo near one car. I waved at her. She too smiled brightly and waved at me. She came near me.

"What happened kanns? Any problem?" She asked me.

"Yeah Jo! My scooty tyre punctured!" I pouted. She smiled.

"Oh no! Why not you come with me today in my car? Where is your home?" She asked.

"No.. No thanks Jo! I'll manage. I'll call my anna. He'll come here." I said.

"Your anna? Oh! That day in lift your phne convo with him only na!! You said about our hottie team supervisor to irritate him ryt?" 😉 she winked at me.

God! This woman! Why she didn't forget that!

I awkwardly nodded little.

"Hey kanns! It's not safe to stand here alone till your brother comes. Come! my husband will arrange someone to take care of this scooty! He'll return it to your address. Come with us in our car. We'll drop you." She said.

"No.. No Jo! I'll manage! Why are you bothering you and your husband? I'll manage dear!" I said politely. But she is no mood ro leave me. She literally dragged me after saying "you won't come if I talk like this. Come!" She stopped near her car. She talked with her husband who is in driver seat. I didn't see his face because she is blocking my view by talking with him through window.

At last, he stepped outside from the car. My jaws dropped seeing him as Jo's husband.

"Surya!" I said little loudly. Jo winked at me.

Great! Just great! So this is the reason she didn't drop that hottie matter till now! I'm screwed up!!🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

"Hi kannamma! Pleasure to introduce my wife Jyothika aka Jo!" He said sweetly.

"You can come with us kannamma. I'll tell watchman to repair ur scooty and send to your address" Surya said. I just nodded not knowing what to tell. I'm in pure shock. Jo dragged me to back passenger seat and sat besides me.

"How is my sweet shock?" Jo came near my ears and whispered. I snapped at her with a wide eyes.

"Jo didn't tell you about us ryt?" Surya asked from front driver seat while driving.

"Yes sir!" I said. Because I felt uneasy to call him by his name in front of his wife. Jo chuckled.

"No need to call him sir kanns! I don't mind you calling him by his name! And moreover I didn't even mind you calling him hottie😉!" She again winked. Surya laughed. My cheeks turn red in embarrassment. I lowered my head immediately.

"Don't feel embarrassed kannamma! I know that already. She told me everything in the first day itself. Thanks for your compliment!" Surya said while laughing carelessly. My cheeks turned more red hearing him.

"Sorry sir.. I mean surya.. I just told that to irritate my brother. Nothing serious!" I said with low voice.

"Them am I not handsome?" He pouted. Jo laughed.

"Enough surya! Don't tease her!" Jo said playfully.

Now I just want to open the earth and dig myself totally!

Then Jo asked surya to play some melody songs. Surya phne battery died. So I gave my phne to connect and play songs. My phone started ringing while playing songs. I gestured surya to attend the call. Because I know my appa only call me in this time why because I didn't reach my home yet. He attended the call. My phne is connected to his car speakers.

"Hey laddu! Enna d aachu? Yen innum veetuku varala?"

(Hey laddu! What happened? Why are you not home till now?)

My mughil anna asked. Oh! So he is calling! Great!

"Brother! My scooty tyre punctured!" I said.

"Enna solra loosu! Ithalam mothalaiye enaku call panni solla matiya? Na vanthurupen la appove! Ipo enga iruka ne?"

(What are you saying mental! Why can't you tell me this at first? I'd have came there early na! Tell me where are you now?)

He asked concerned.

"Illa anna! Na ipo car la vanthutu iruken. Innum 10 mins vanthuruven. Traffic naala late aiduchu!"

(No bro! I'm coming by car. I'll be there in 10 mins. Late because of traffic!)

I said.

"Car?? Whose car?? Don't tell me you are coming in a stranger's car!" He warned me.

"No anna! I'm coming in my team supervisor's car" I said.

"What???? You mean your hottie handsome team supervisor? How can you come with him? Do you know about him? Who knows! May be he is a pervert or rogue or something! How can you trust him and don't tell me that you are alone with him!! You pumpkin! Say something!!"

He started his blabbering. Jo chuckled and bite her lower lip to control laughing. Same goes with surya!

Why today everything happening is this much embarrassing???

"Anna! Please stop! I'm not alone and his wife is with me now! I'll talk to you after coming home! Bye!" Immediately I moved forward and cut the call by swiping the car screen.

Within a minute they both burst into laughter.. I pouted. After 10 mins, I reached my home. My anna waited for me in entrance itself.

Such an annoying idiot!!

I hopped out of the car. I invite surya and Jo to come to my home. They both declined but seeing my anna in entrance, they too came out of the car. Seeing surya and Jo, mughil anna looked confused but within minutes, he realised who they are.

"Hi young man! I'm the one who you mentioned as pervert or rogue or something! And she is my wife!" Surya said suppressing his laughter shook my Anna's hand. My anna widened his eyes and glared at me. I smiled sheepishly.

"Sorry sir! I didn't mean it! I just said that as a brother. As a brother, I have to protect my sister. So I really can't trust anyone whoever came near my sissy. She is not as strong as she looks." My anna apologized with a genuine and awkward smile.

"I can understand dude! I'm just kidding. By the way, I'm Surya and she is my wife Jyothika Surya." Surya introduced them. My anna snapped at me with a confused look. I know his mindvoice. I told about Jo's friendship but I didn't mentioned about surya and jo relationship which I too didn't know either. I gestured him 'I'll tell later' look. He nodded.

"I'm Mughilan. Professor in XYZ college. Nice to meet you surya. Come this way" He invited them. They both smiled and entered our home.

"Our home is not big. But it's clean and neat" My anna said awkwardly. At that time, my mom came from kitchen and my sissy came from our room.

"In fact our home is also not so big. Your house looks cute and beautiful like your family" Jo said smilingly.

My amma and thangachi saw them curiously.

"Amma! He is my team supervisor Surya and she is his wife as well as my only friend Jyothika!" I introduced them. My amma gave a knowing look. She made them sat in sofa and immediately went to kitchen to prepare coffee for them. Maya saw them shocked. She didn't move.

"Akka! He is that handsome team supervisor ryt? Really kanns! He is super handsome!" My sister exclaimed as usual.

Seriously! This is one of her uncontrollable habit to shout whatever in her mind when she is shocked!

This is my 4 th time feeling embarrassed in front of them!

I immediately closed her mouth with my palm. She gave me 'oops!" Look. I glared her. Again surya and jo burst into laughter. My anna glared maya.

"Seems like, everyone knows about my hottie husband!" Jo said. Maya smiled awkwardly.

"Ennachu! Ellarum maya vaye paakringa! Maya! Ethachum panniya?"

(What happened! Everyone is looking at maya! Maya! Did you do anything?)

My amma asked maya in a warning tone. She shook her head from left to right vigorously.

"Nothing ma! We are talking about her studies!" Jo said saving maya from my amma's All india radio!

Later that, they drank coffee and chitchatted for sometime and left. My mom insisted them to eat dinner. But they left saying their 2 years old daughter Diya is waiting for them with Surya's mom and dad.

We three seated in our room. There are two rooms in our home. One for me and maya and another one for the three of them. But my anna only slept in that room. My mom and dad slept in hall. This is what middle class life!

Now we are in our(me and Maya's) room. They both stared at me to spill the beans about my so called handsome team supervisor and Jo.

I told them everything. They listened me clearly. After hearing everything. They both burst into laughter.

"Ennathu!😂🤣 semma po!! Na call pannumbothu speaker la irunthucha🤣😂 vera level!!"

(What!😂🤣 great!! Your phne was in speaker when I called🤣😂 just great!!)

My anna said in between his laughter.

"Aana kannamma! Avaru wife nu theriyama avanga irukumbothe hottie nu sonna paathiya🤣😂!! Anga nikkura ne!! Apram anna! Unnaiyum summa solla koodathu! Ava vanguna bulb ku puthu fuse potu innum eriya vita paathiya!😂🤣🤣 ne great da anna!🤣😂"

(But kannamma! You said him hottie while standing besides his wife, that too not knowing that she is his wife🤣😂!! That's where you are standing unique!! Then brother! You too are not a least one! You put a new fuse in her already gotten bulb(comparing to her embarrassment) and allow it to long last!😂🤣🤣 you are great brother!🤣😂)

Maya taunted me for her part of existence.

"Shut up you both of you! Today is one of the worst days in my life! First that scam call idiot, second my scooty punctured, third my stupid embarrassment, and last but not least your annoying tauntings!"

I yelled. They both looked at me shocked. Because usually I don't shout while they kidding. But remembering that scam call idiot, I can't control myself.

"Scam call idiot?" Maya asked. I told the entire convo.

"How dare he! Did you notice his number? Let us give him a scam call!" Maya said. I nodded and showed her number.

"No Maya! It's not safe to call these scam call idiots with our own number! Just leave it and go to your bed! This is common in call centers. Kannamma! Delete his number first!" My anna said warningly.

"But anna!!" Maya whined. Mughil glared. She went silent. Then anna left us to sleep.

"Kannamma! We should try my idea without Anna's knowledge! What's say?" Maya asked my expectingly.

Usually I also didn't like these kind of childish things. But the irritation about the scam call idiot made me to agree her. Today is friday. So 2 days are leave for all of us except appa!.

I and maya planned to go out and call that scam through local public telephones. As per we planned we both got ready to go out saying shopping as excuse. I wore a light pink colour chudi and she wore a navy blue color chudi with red shawl.

We both went to one public booth near a bangle shop.

"Akka remember! Don't give him a single chance to speak! Just blabber whatever comes in your mind and cut the call. Okay?" Maya told. I nodded.

I said the number, maya dialled. He attended the call in 5th ring.

"Hello! *yawning*"

You idiot spoiled my sleep and you are sleeping peacefully!!

"Hello! Who's this?" He asked. But his voice sounds different. Maybe because he is sleepy! I don't care. Kannama! Just attack him with your words!!

"Dei dubuku dumaangoli! Arivu ketta mundam! Pichakkaara naayae! Domaru! Dubaagoor! Poriki, pannada! Paradesi! Porambokku! Udhavakara! Makku pandaram! Pinji pona serupu! Uricha koli! Urikatha vengayam! Urulakelangu moota! Uppillatha sambar uh! Meenthu pona upma! Ketu pona chutney! Po da sengal mandaya! Bucket vaaya! Paal cooker! Paniyaram! Dalda dappa! Venna! Velakenna! Phne ah vai da kena payale!"

*The above sentence contains many scolding slang words in tamil which I can't translate totally but I'll try some*

(Hey fool! Brainless torso! Beggar dog! Waste dog! Duplicate! Rogue, niggard! Wanderer! Waste land! Useless! Idiotic man! Torned chappal! Peeled fowl! Unpeeled onion! Potato bundle! Saltless gravy! Leftover upma(indian dish)! Spoiled chutney(one of the indian side dish for breakfast)! Go brick head! Bucket mouth! Milk cooker! Pie! Vanaspati ghee tin! Butter! Castor oil! Cut the call you blockhead!!)

I immediately cut the call and panted heavily. My sissy maya started laughing. I saw her confused.

"Seriously kannamma! Pie? Milk cooker? Unpeeled onion??? Are you scolding him or cooing him??😂🤣 you are such a baby dear!" She again started laughing.

I don't know whether I said that words too. Anyway I'm feeling contented now!

Then we roamed some shops to buy some bangles, ear rings, and bindi like that. Almost one hour passed. Then we went to one shop to buy a new mobile pouch. I saw a white pouch with bharathiyar pic in which the words 'bharathi kannamma' were written. I'm die hard fan of Bharathiyar(tamil poet as well as freedom fighter). I immediately took that. But the shopkeeper said that pouch is already selected by someone.

I asked him who selected that mobile pouch. He pointed to one man standing near the bill counter. I immediately went to him.

"Uhmm!! Excuse me sir!" I said. He turned.

Voah! Handsome man!

Kannamma! Stop this! Already you embarrassed yourself enough!

"Yes! Uhm!!" He raised his one brow questioningly.

"Sir! That, mobile pouch.. Hmm you selected... Bharathi..."

Damn kannamma! Why are you stammering!! He is not your fiance! Talk boldly!!

"Sir! We like the mobile pouch which you selected. My akka is a die hard fan of Bharathiyar. So if you don't mind, will you please give that to us?" Maya said from besides me..

"Hmm.. Sorry! But I'm also Bharathiyar fan. In fact I ordered that pouch a week ago. So please search for something or you can order like whatever you want. If you have the pic which you want in the pouch, you can make them merge. I'm really sorry!" He said with a apologetic look with a sweet smile which can melt anyone's heart! I smiled sheepishly.

"It's ok! Thank you for your idea sir!" I said. He nodded and left.

Then we ordered the pouch exactly like his. I don't know why! I have excellent hd pics of Bharathiyar better than that. But I want that pouch. So I ordered exactly like that.

"Akka! Valiyuthu thodachuko!"
(Sissy! You are dribbling, wipe it!)

Maaya told after we came out of the shop. I glared her.

"Pinna enna! Avana paathathum ennamo unna ponnu paaka vantha mathri ipdi thenarura! Loosu!"

(Then what! You are stammering like he is your to be fiance! Mental!)

She said chuckling.

"Avlo pachchayava therinjidhu?🙄"

I asked innocently.

"Nalla keta po! Ne sight adichatha avane kandupidichirupaan! Avlo pachaya Therinjichu!🤦‍♀️"

She told me. I shrugged smiling sheepishly🤷‍♀️😁.

"Vidu vidu! Ithalam vaalkaila sagajamappaa!"
