Kannamma's POV!

Continuation of the flashback!

NOOO!!!

I screamed while covering my face with my palms. But I heard a bursting sound. I opened my eyes while my hands were shaking with fear.

That devil is laid down in floor and acid bottle was threw in that pendrives and some wire connections making it to burst with that screen also.

I saw the old watchman of this college is here standing in front of me!

When did he come! Did he pushed this devil so that he dropped that acid bottle in that pendrives?

That watchman gestured me to escape from here. But I was too much shocked and panicked to do something.

Within seconds, that devil got up and glared the two of us deadly.

"You bloody old dog! You are trying to beat me?" He said and stood up.

That watchman took a wooden stick and beat him on his head! But that devil pushed him and he hitted him with another wooden stick.

The watchman fell down in a sharp rod like something and that rod pierced his throat because of the force he fell down backwards.

He died giving me a small smile at the end. Now that devil is rubbing his head. Blood oozed from his head already.

My eyes got blurred, and my legs goes weak, I was already drenched in sweat. My head felt heavy. I closed my eyes seeing that watchman one last time.

I was already in hospital when I opened my eyes. My amma and appa came to my view first with a worried expression. I was discharged after that.

I came to know that two girls whom I rescued is the one who informed watchman and they trio informed police before the watchman came to that room to rescue me.

The police came in the neck moment and arrested him for killing the watchman. They didn't arrest him for the missing cases because the evidences were spoilt and the student's parents were not willing to file a complaint against as it will spoil their children's future.

But I gave a statement against him by telling about chandrika. Then chandrika's missing case got life and the police started their investigation. But still they can't get any evidences so the case is still going on. But he was in jail for killing that watchman.

After that, I became totally broken. My mind filled with that clips which he showed me especially chandrika's clip. And that smile which the watchman gave me before he died.

The thoughts started to pestering me to hell. I got nightmares too. I resigned my job and locked myself in my room. My amma, appa, anna and maya were so much worried about me. They asked what happened. But I hided everything just saying that I'm scared because of seeing the watchman killed in front of my eyes.

I became an introvert. I even take treatment from Psychrtist for more than 4 months. Then only I changed myself and made myself stronger by seeing my amma and appa's condition.

But this devil didn't left me. Still he is pestering me. I saw him after more than 6 months when kathir rescued me. He slapped me that day. He escaped from jail only because to kill me!

Then I saw him when we went for shopping. But before he could reach me, you came there. So he left. But he heard our conversation with meghna in that juice shop. He's thinking that you are my boyfriend and he'll try to kill you if you help me!

Then I got a call from him the another day when we went to beach. I shared this to kathir.

Now, yesterday he saw me in that theater and warned me that he'll see me in a right day and he'll never hesitate to kill you if you interrupt and tried to help me.

Whenever seeing him, I remembered everything and anxiety attacked me like hell! That's why I behaved like that yesterday and the another day in shopping. Sorry for that.

So this is what happened!'

I said everything while tears were flowing down from my eyes carelessly. They both listened everything keenly with serious expression. They both wiped the single tear which dropped from their eyes.

Kavin's eyes were red like fire. He fisted his palm into a ball. Kathir was thinking something deeply.

I cleared my throat to get their attention.

Kathir! Now where is the case going? He asked as calm as he could but his voice revealed his anger.

Chandrika's case is still going on da. No improvement. But they were searching him in the murder case. Kathir replied with the same anger.

Kannamma! Come with me! Today You don't have to go office today. Just come to my home and relax! Kavin said snapping at me. I saw him with little hesitation. How can that possible!? Then we have to answer Everyone what have happened especially to both of our parents.

Uhm.. No.. That's not right.. I mean everyone will question why. What will we answer to that? I answered. He became silent for few minutes while thinking something deeply.

Uhmm! Okay! Then I have a idea. He said with a thousand watts bulb face. His tension face changed into a charming one. I was more than relieved to see him like this.

At that time, My phne and Kathir's phne started ringing at the same time suddenly.

I took it and attended as it was from my amma.

Hello kannamma! Did you reached office? She asked.

Why she is calling now actually?!

Uhmm! Yes ma.. Why are you calling now? Any problem? I asked her.

No da! You have to do one thing kannu! Did you? She asked.

Normally, She didn't ask permission from me instead she order me.. Then why she is asking like this?

She very well know that I didn't like going shopping alone. And moreover if I buy any dress with my choice.. She'll surely will tell so much of comments that it's not a good cloth, good color, good fabric,etc.. Like this. So I hate shopping for others especially!

But now what can I say? Did she consider if I say no? Never ryt?? Okay! Let's accept it!

Uhmm okay ma.. I'll try! I said.

I hung up after saying bye to her.

I came to the table where we sat before. And Kathir also came at the same time.

Kavin saw both of us curiously.

What happened da? Who called? He asked Kathir first.

That dog manager only da! He's barking at me for not going to office today! But how can I go letting kannamma in this condition? He said worriedly.

Aww my doraemon! Don't worry dear I'm already okay!

Uhmm.. Kathir.. I'm really Okay! Please don't skip your work just for me.. See, I'm perfectly alright. But you both worrying for nothing. Just go to your office doraemon! I said convincingly.

Huh! We are worrying for nothing?? But Kannamma! I should say you are not so good in acting. I could hear your heart beat from here and the sweat beats in your forehead telling me the exact opposite of which you said just now! Kavin said eyeing me carefully.

It's true. I'm not fully came out of my anxiety yet I'm trying my best to conceal it. But who am I talking! He might surely be a CID in his previous birth!

Huh... Okay! You are ryt though! I'm not fully came out of my anxiety! But still I'm okay. It's not a big deal. I'll manage. But please don't stress yourself for me.
I said in a pleading tone.

Machan! You can go to your work da! I'll take care of her. And moreover you have to take leave for marriage and all. So it will be difficult to ask leave from him if you took off today. I'm here only na.. I'll update you whatever happens. Okay? Kavin asked kathir in which he just nodded helplessly.

Now kavin saw me which makes me feel little disturbed because of his intense look and that too we are alone now!.

Who called you Kannamma? He asked.

I totally forgot about that. My amma asked me to go to shop with Jo ryt? Then I should go to office today!

Uhmm. My amma called and told me to buy a saree for anni! I said. He saw me confused.

Saree? But already we bought ryt? He asked me..

Yes. But it's a ritual that groom's side should give bride a saree which is known as 'sadangu saree'. We forgot to bought. That's why she is asking me to buy it whole returning home with the help of Jo! I said. He saw me more confused.

Why is that saree? I mean.. Any reason behind it? He asked me.

Uhmm yeah! In old times, girls got married in relatives ryt!? Like 'morapaiyan' called aunt or uncle's son. So in that times, that boy's family will offer saree in her puberty function which is also like saying to everyone that he is his girl. But now, we all are not marrying in relatives. So it's a ritual that saree is offered by groom's side as like giving the saree for his bride's puberty function. It is like she is his from the day she attains age to get married! I said the explanation. He saw me with a amused expression.

Voah! This much things is there in a simple saree? Great! He said with the same amused expression which is giving me just now. I simply smiled at him.

Yup! So I have to go to office today as I have to buy this saree going along with Jo! I don't know how to select sarees for others. So I badly want Jo's help in this. I said. He chuckled.

For a simple saree, you are going to office? No! I'm here na.. Then why fear! I'll take care everything. I already planned. You just call and took off from you work now! I'll never send you to your office now that too in this condition. I only made you to remember and tell us everything with your own mouth. Even I can't took it from my mind carelessly. I nodded and called surya to inform about my leave without any choice. This Kavin is very stubborn than I thought!

Uhmm like... To dress like a queen, eating ice cream, panipuri, and go for some horror movie with my lov.. I mean with my friend... Like this.. I have many. Why are you asking this now?  I said while remembering mh childhood days when I wished this fantasies to be true one day.

Okay! Now come with me! He said while standing up from his seat.

Where? I asked him confused.

Just do what I say! He said and dragged me outside.

Follow me with your scooty okay? He asked me. I just nodded and followed him.

He stopped in one place which looks like a company parking lot.

Park your scooty here. We'll take when we return okay? This is nothing but Kathir's office Parking lot. And this security is my and Kathir's best friend. So he'll allow your scooty here. Don't worry! He said. I did what he said without any questioning because he's in no mood to listen me first of all.

After that, he asked me to hop on his bike. I felt shy as I didn't ride with any other guys other than my anna and appa in bikes. I slowly hop on his bike.

He started. I was already fighting with me whether I can hold his shoulder or not. Finally, I gripped the bike seat as I'm afraid of the butterflies and other insects in my stomach started to dance if I touch him. That's why I gripped the bike. I love bikes and his bike is cool though! I love it!

He saw me in his bike's rear mirror one last time before starting his bike. After about 15 mins of riding, he stopped in front of one photo studio.

Why we are here? What he is thinking?

With this thought, I followed him.

Kavin! Why we are here? I asked him impatiently.

You'll see! Come first! He said.

We went inside. That was a huge photo studio and there were costumes there with some makeup artists. He went to the receptionist and talked with her sweetly.

And that receptionist is literally drooling and flirting with him shamelessly. I felt like punching her head 100 times.

I glared her like I'm going to burn her with my sight. She saw me casually while talking with him.. No no.. While drooling him.. and gulped seeing my glare. Kavin snapped at me as that receptionist is seeing in my direction.

I quickly tried to mask my reaction but my face turned annoyed. He came to me.

What happened kannamma? Are you okay? He asked with concern.

Yup. I'm. And you didn't answer my question! What are we doing here? I asked him.

Huh! This is one of my client's studio. And this studio is built by me. And about your question, we are here to take photos like you wished. Now don't ask anything and go to that room! He said and pushed me to one of the rooms there.

I went inside. There were one girl who may be a makeup artist standing with one blue color heavy saree in her hands. I went near her.

She asked me to wear that. I asked her the details what and why is this actually. She answered me as this is photo studio where we can take photo with whatever outfit we wished. It was like renting the outfit till we take a pic.

I was beyond excited to know that. I don't even know about these kind of places are here in Chennai!

I wore that beautiful blue colour saree. And she farded me or should I say that she did some magic in my face.

After that, I went to mirror to take a glance. I can't believe my eyes! I'm indeed beautiful😍💓!

OMG! IS IT YOU REALLY? KANNAMMA??

I asked myself the nth time that it's really me before going outside. And I felt shy to go in front of him with this outfit.

But I have no choice ryt?

I went outside. He was busy surfing something in his mobile when I came out. I cleared my throat to get his attention. He slowly lifted his face.

He saw me. For few minutes, his face is neutral.. No expression. He was just staring at me. Just staring only.

I again cleared my throat. He jerked and came to his sense. He quickly came towards me.

Oh my god! Who are you? Where is my KANNAMMA? Didn't she here? He asked me.

I blushed at his words. I don't know whether he said intentionally or unintentionally in a flow he said MY KANNAMMA. But I can't stop myself from blush and smile like a fool.

I'm here only! Don't exaggerate kavin! I whined hitting his shoulder playfully. He smiled.

You are indeed a queen! Saying this, he muttered something which is not audible to me.

Come let's take a selfie first. Saying this he took out his mobile and we both take a selfie smiling ear to ear.

Then the girl leads me to the studio. I took photos with the Queen's attire.

After taking enough, I changed into the dress which I wore previously.

We both went to reception to collect photos. I insisted to pay for that but he didn't let me and paid it as they gave discount for him because he is the engineer for this studio. During the whole time, I glared that receptionist. She saw me and gulped.

Then we went outside. He started his bike.

Kavin! At least tell me now where we are going? I asked him.

He scratched his crook of neck while smiling sheepishly. It looks cute🤩.

That.. I didn't eat breakfast as I was hell confused about your matter. So now.. I'm feeling hungry.. Hehe.. He said in a childish tone which is indeed adorable! I checked the time.. It was already quarter past 11.

Actually I'm also feeling hungry as I didn't ate breakfast because I was hell disturbed by that devil's words. I said. His expression changed to serious one but soon he masked it and smiled.

Then why are you waiting! Come let's go! He said cheerfully.

We both went to mall. I wonder why he came here instead of some restaurants!

We went to the restaurant there. He asked me to order. I blinked seeing the menu card as I didn't eat in malls before. So I don't know what to order.

What are you searching like that you are going to pierce the menu card with your look? He asked me with a chuckle.

That.. I don't get to eat in malls before! That's why.. I'm confused what to order. I said with a sheepish grin.

Just order what you wish to eat since long time!? He said casually.

I thought for few minutes. In my home, my appa will buy everything I wish but in foods, he didn't buy me junkfoods mostly but if I asked means, he'll instead buy the ingredients and ask my mom to prepare or he itself jump in the stunt (cooking). So I didn't get to eat pizza and burgers like foods.

One day, I asked my appa that I want to eat pizza. And guess what he did! Yes exactly like in 'kaaka muttai' film in which what the grandma did! He made wheat dough instead of that grandma's rice-wheat batter. Then he place veggies on top of that then he applied some chutneys, butter over it instead of cheese! It was horrible than you think!

Uhmm.. I want to eat pizza! I said excitedly. Kavin saw me from head to toe with a weird expression. I raised my brow at him.

Did you eat that before? He asked me. I nodded negatively.

No! That's why I'm asking now to taste it! I said excited like child who saw a cotton candy just now. He chuckled.

Ok ok.. Then your wish. And by the way, what is your lunch? Anything special?. He asked me after giving that waiter our order. I didn't notice what he order as he ordered more like in a whispering tone.

Then only I remembered that I brought a lunch from my home. But today is 'karakolambu'(a south indian gravy) which I like least!

Uhmm karakolambu rice with egg! Nothing special! I said with a bad expression. He chuckled.

What's so wrong in that dish you are changing your expression like this? He asked me.

I don't like it! That's why.. Hehe😁! I said with a sheepish grin.

But I like it.. I mean.. Your karakolambu rice. Can you give it to me? He asked me.

Uhm.. Sure.. Why not!? Saying this, I took out my tiffen box.

He started eating it happily like a child. I started admiring him.

Don't look at me like that. He said while eating without seeing me.

I coughed because of his sudden question!
